Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I am a fan of this retro, old school cliche American-Italian restaurant and lounge. It's a nice mix of 1960's, 70's and 80's kitsch, wrapped in warm and inviting hospitality. There is plenty of fake greenery and plastic grapes to welcome you to V's, but it is all backed with legit service and good quality food. I have been a total of four times with the in-laws and have loved it every time. It helps when the people taking you have loved a place for a long time and share good memories while sitting within it's four walls. It's not hip, it's not elegant but it is solid. I've had the brunch twice, the prime rib once and a pasta dinner also.....all good food that seemed familiar. Maybe that's what this place has, familiarity! The service has always been great. It feels like a lot of the staff have been here for years. There seems to be a strong work ethic amongst the staff, I love that. It's not in my part of town, but it makes me happy when we are heading in the direction of V's, go check out this business that has been around for decades and see if it seems familiar to you.

Saturday night without a reservation, but we were down the street, so we stopped in. We got seated immediately (great surprise). Our booth was nice and secluded with was great for a pre-anniversary dinner. I had the lasagna which was fantastic. I actually didn't need a to go box! Our dinner came with desert, but since I had devoured my entire dinner plate, those had to be taken home for later. Our server was the son and he was very nice and polite. Going to V's is a bit of a haul for us, but whenever we are in the area, we will make sure to stop back by!

We have lived in Kansas City for well over 10 years and finally decided to try this KC institution. It was an expensive disappointment. The lasagna was overly sweet. It was sugary almost. There was also very little cheese. Stauffers lasagna is actually better. The salad that came with dinner was wilted and caked with Ranch dressing. The bread that comes with the entree was dry and tasteless. I couldn't find anything I liked about this experience. I guess our server was pleasant enough, but kept trying to up sell everything to us. It was weird. If you are going to charge $18 bucks for a small portion of lasagne, it better be really good. I wish I could get the $50 we spent back.

We went for our anniversary because I heard how great it was. I ordered the crab linguine and it came with immatation nasty crab but had a real crab price. And it was really weird how the staff tried to up sale everything. Needless to say even though we live five minutes away we will not be returning. There's a lot better places to drop $75 on anniversary dinner in the area....

My family and I are here over the weekend. I made reservations but we were early so it may have been ok without them. The service was wonderful, friendly and fast. Our drinks stayed full and our table stayed cleared. The food was paced well not rushed and not too slow. We had toasted ravioli and escargot for appetizers, both were flavorful and delicious. Our entrées were fabulous! Spaghetti with meatballs, manicotti, chicken parmesean and halibut. All were perfectly cooked flavorful and delicious. I haven't eaten here in years because I moved away. It is as good as I remembered and I will be back next time I visit my family.

Very dissatisfied. Went on Tuesday nite, but we didn't get the 19.95 special. Spent 48.00 for 2. Tea only. Left hungary. Hubby had a plate with shrimp and crab I had the big plate . Sauce had alot of water in it. Waiter was no good. This is our last time. We have been coming for years. What's wrong V's ?
(2)Anne K.
The food was ok, but I have certainly had better. This has been a community staple for years, but the menu needs to be seriously updated.
(2)Deb L.
This is my experience. I always recive the best food and service. I recommend this great place to everone. This is the best..... Thank you for all the years of service. Check out the website. Brunch....

My one star is for the delicious mints offered on the way out the door. We had lunch there today and the food has gone way down hill from when I was a kid. My pasta was swimming in a watery oiled pool of disgusting disappointment...

V's is soon to celebrate 50 years in business. And it's a miracle to me as to how this "Best Italian food to come out of the back of a bulk food service truck" place has survived for 50 years. It's gotta be the wine...the drunker you get the better the food tastes. Let's take their classic Spaghetti and Meatballs. Yes it is possible to mangle this Italian classic to the point it's not even worth taking home for the dog. I don't mind pasta being al dente, but what you get at V's is pasta that's been given no love, and little attention. It's never the same, it can be super chewy to something that a teenager would make if they left the pasta on the stove for 30 minutes or more. The meatballs...while of nice size are flavorless things that really are a disgrace to bring to the table. And the sauce....please, I hate Ragu but Ragu and Prego sitting on some Price Chopper shelf for a couple of months as nasty as they are would still be preferable to the abomination V's calls sauce. So let's say you decide to skip pasta dishes and go with a steak. V's may be in Kansas City but the tradition of great steaks is not found here. I don't like my steaks to moo at me, but I don't want them charred either. V's never gets it right, they ALWAYS screw up a simple steak. And oh yes, a dishonorable mention must be made of their Chicken Parmesan. Oh thank goodness for the parmesan as it's the only real flavor on the plate. When you look at the decor which desperately needs an update, the attitude or inattention of the staff, and the long lines for mediocre food, anyone with a tongue that has working taste buds on it has to wonder how on earth has this place stayed open for 50 years? Back in the 80's and early 90's this place was great. Absolutely loved it. It was a real treat to go to V's for dinner...but those days are long gone. And what's left....well it's pathetic. And it's been slipping for awhile...but the owners seem to be asleep and are sleepwalking through running a restaurant.... 1 Star. Sorry Mr. and Mrs. Totta, as you celebrate your 50th anniversary I hope you take a look back at what you had and bring back quality food that tastes good, with staff that pays attention to the little things, and servers that do not have attitude if you can get their attention at all. I come back to KC thinking I'd give you one more try...only to end up at Walgreens buying Pepto. Yep, 1 Star. At least it's close to I-70 so after having bad Italian, you can get away fast before your stomach starts telling you that eating there was a bad idea. If you want real Italian in Kansas City just Google two little words: Chicken Spiedini. Case closed.

Great Breakfast Buffet Brunch! Who doesn't want scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, fruit, a person making omelets for you, etc. Another great thing is if you want Italian food that is there as well, its not just breakfast food. Did I mention the MIMOSA'S are included? Makes me one happy girl!

Checked in and received toasted ravioli. Nice atmosphere - crowded - but in a good way. I had angel hair d'Marco.

I've been eating at V's Italiano Ristorante since I was a teen. For someone on the east side of Kansas City it was just kind of the go-to place for all types of events from bowling tournaments to Christmas office parties to anniversary dinners and everything in between. The atmosphere is cozy and just a little bit "dress-up" feeling. But everyone is always friendly and you don't HAVE to be dressed-up to feel comfortable there. It's not changed very much over the 40-some years I've been going there. But that's not a bad thing. V's offers a traditional Italian menu plus lots of other options such as steaks, chicken and fish entrees. Their dinner prices are moderate but if you are looking for a good meal at a lower price, try the early dinner menu or go for lunch and get the same types of tasty items for less $. Portions are generous and really always good, hearty renditions of favorite Italian dishes. The service is very good and you will feel pampered throughout your meal. My favorites include Spaghetti and Meatballs, Eggplant Parmigiana and a lovely Chicken Lemonata. Their Garlic Toast is wonderful and made just like I love it with lots of garlic butter! The dinners all come with a slice of the moist Italian Rum Cake that is V's signature dessert. But you will be lucky if you have enough room left to eat it at the end of your meal.

One of my favorites for old school Italian food reminds me of my aunt Rosa Reale this is not Olive Garden thank God this is like ma and pop's Sunday dinner we called it gravy anyway went on Sunday after mass took my picky Irish husband and he is hard to please when it comes to out to eat Italian and he loved the spaghetti and meatballs besides mine he likes nobodies I had Alfredo since he doesn't like cream sauces awesome brought me back to when my aunt Rosa would cook all day in the kitchen she came over from Sicily at 13 and this is the place if you want real old school aunt Rosa food least they let you leave the table if you don't clean your plate and yes you might hear Sinatra in the background. Try it for yourself you won't be sorry

I am not quite sure why some of the reviewers are rating this place to low. I have never had a bad meal, and the service is always great. I also have no problem with the decor. This place is celebrating their 50th anniversary. I don't expect it to look brand new. Nostalgia has its place, and this one is perfect for that. The food here is on par with most of the better Italian places in town. The fried chicken is EXCELLENT. It is worth the trip just for that. So much better than Stroud's and their way overrated, way under seasoned chicken. V's regularly runs specials, emails deals, and quite often will offer up groupon deals. Good food at a great price. What's wrong with that?

This review is purely for customer service only. I am in Northern California and my cousin who is celebrating her 21st bday is having dinner with her Fiance. I wanted to surprise her and buy her a birthday drink . I went to the website, got the number and called and spoke with a very nice man named Gary. I described my beautiful cousin and he confirmed she was there and said I would be able to buy her and her fiance a drink. I gave him my credit card # and he called be back a short time later with the amount that was charged to my card. Thank you Gary! I hope to visit your restaurant one day!

Can't give this place the full 4-5 stars because I've only been there for brunch, but for what it was -- it wasn't too bad. Some friends and I went there for a Sunday brunch, right at 10 when they opened (to avoid the crowd) -- and boy, did we. First ones there for a good little while. Not sure if the brunch is something new, or if it's just that sparsely attended. The brunch, BTW, was $19 -- and included bottomless champagne or mimosas or juice. The champagne may have been the cheap stuff, but it certainly didn't taste it. A good selection there. As for the food.. it was decent. It's a brunch buffet, so I wouldn't have expected fine cuisine, but it was decent. High points was the pasta chef on hand; low point was the chocolate brownie that was burned to the bottom of the chafing dish. Atmosphere is friendly -- it'd be someplace to take a nice date to dinner, or just go out with friends. Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere (seemingly), and the atmosphere does clash a little with the area -- but it's still got a friendly mom-and-pop feel to it. The wait staff was always on hand with refills, and were greeting us enthusiastically when we arrived. It's not perfect, but I'd give it a second shot for a more comprehensive review.

Missed the mark on this one. Higher than expected prices for Italian, especially the quality served here. Started with the best course of the meal, salad with a nice salad and sweet Italian dressing. Nice mild flavor and a crisp greens salad. Very good bread too. Setting us up for a great entree! I had a Very thick Veal Parmigiana with a decent flavor and a thick 'Prego' like sauce. Nothing unique or special to share. Comes with your choice of a side and Italian Rum Cake. I had mixed veggies, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots which unfortunately were significantly under-cooked. My wife had a large Chicken Parmigiana, same sauce - with the same sentiment as I had. Same under-cooked side, but half the portion size I had. We laughed at that and I shared some of mine with her. Our guests split the 16 oz lasagna. Portion was more than enough for them. But again, nothing special. One said that "it was OK, but I've had better frozen lasagna." I thought they also were supposed to have a side, but one never arrived. I could've been mistaken on that. The Italian Rum Cake was different from any other Rum Cake I've enjoyed. Rather than a Bundt Cake, it was a Sponge Cake. I didn't detect the rum in it. But it was light, with a nice white frosting. Very simple, yet again - underwhelming. It was a very slow Sunday night and the staff was a bit over bearing at first. We were given four separate opportunities to order an appetizer... She was taken aback that our guests had wanted to split their meal. I really hope she never tries to play poker. After starting off poorly, she really rallied and provided very pleasant and prompt service. Kept our water & Ice Tea glasses filled, had a nice pace of the meal - with our entrees arriving in less than five minutes of clearing our salad plates. I think one trip to V's was enough to encourage me to think of Pasta House, Fizzoli's or Olive Garden prior to making a repeat visit.

I am crazy for veal and no one does veal like Italians so, we discovered we had a Groupon for V's and we hopped in the Escort and vamoosed for V's in Inependence on 40 Hwy. My partner won't eat calimari which I adore so we had to bypass that. They serve a little salad with the dinners and it was tasty and got me all jazzed up for my Vitello Siciliano. This is a breaded veal cutlet, topped with sautéed mushrooms, rich tomato sauce, mozzarella and romano cheese. The veal was tender and flavorful, not tough and the breading was nice and crispy and held up nicely with the mushrooms and sauce atop it. It was absolutely delicious. It's making my mouth water right now just reminescing about it. The server was pleasant and attentive and the prices are acceptable. The ambience is quiet and warm and it was a cozy little place to have a Monday evening meal on a cold January day. I've been to V's before for the not-so-fabulous Sunday brunch but had never had dinner here. We will surely come back again. I wouldn't say it is the best Italian in town but V's does a very nice job at the dinner dishes they have offered us.
(3)Kyle V.
We go here 3-4 times a year. Our favorite items are the salad dressing and the Chicken Parmesan.

Mother's day brunch was a chore. It was so crowded I had to wait a very long time just to make it through the line. It was like navigating an obstacle course to get through the crowd and tables to the buffet and back to my table in this tiny restaurant. They really need to reduce the bookings by 1/4 to keep it even modestly enjoyable. Serve soft poached eggs, not just hard eggs and it's not eggs Benedict without the Canadian bacon. The pasta station where they reheat the precooked pasta was a novelty in '88 but now it's pretty uneventful. Change it to an omelet or crepe station to liven things up. Just suggestions. My mom loves this place. I actually think she loves the memories of this place more then it's current fare.
(2)Caitlin C.
I hate to give V's two stars because we've been coming here for years but I've noticed the food has gone down hill. The pasta doesn't taste fresh, the dishes are bland, and everything is covered in too much sauce or cheese. I've always loved the lunch buffet but even that skeptical. The ice tea and house salad remain tasty and of course the ever favorite rum cake is still delicious.
(2)Wyn R.
Good and plentiful. Not the best Italian I've ever had in my life. But good and tasty food. And the rum cake is FAB!!!
(3)Gordy M.
If V's osso buco is not "to die for," I'd at least undergo major surgery for a taste. The meat falls off the bone and is perfectly seasoned. V's is classic Italian, featuring eternally good classic recipes. The decor is in the "nice family restaurant" tradition with complementary waitstaff. The martinis would make Dean Martin smile. The wine list is very adequate and affordable. Desserts and coffee finish the meal nicely. This ristorante may not fully satisfy that ilk who equate "best restaurants" with "highest priced," but for quality Italian dining at reasonable prices, hang a "best buy" label on V's.
(5)Bob M.
My wife and I had a Groupon for V's and decided to go there for my b-day dinner. We love Italian and we've been making our ways around the KC areas trying different ones the past several years. When you go to an old-school, family-owned Italian-American restaurant you should know what to expect. Gaudy, yet fun decor,, the Rat Pack background music, simple "Roma" Italian food at reasonable prices. We got 3 of the 4. The decor and music aside, it was not distracting. In fact, we were seated in the Tuscany Room which was quite cozy and quiet. We were seated just a few minuted before our reservation. Every staff person we interacted with could not have been nicer. Our server JO, was great. She was friendly, efficient and professional. Great job! The food. The garlic toast with melted mozzarella should not have tasted as good ass it did, but we scarfed it. The bread used was what I call Texas toast. We had the house salad with the housemade creamy Italian. Again, it should not have tasted as good as it did. The salad was way overdressed and soggy. The dressing was that salty-sweet irresitable combo. For our mains we had the Italian Trio w/Italian sausage. and Frutti di Mare Fettuccine. The trio was over-sauced, but the red sauced wasn't bad. The meat ravioli were tender, the mannicotti was tasy, but the spaghetti was slimy and nearly inedible. If you're not going to make your own pasta then at least buy a premium pasta. The sausage link had a nice spice but was kind of dry. My wife fettuccine was basically alfredo pasta with shrimp, crab meat and white fish. The shrimp were tiny, but had a sweet taste, plenty of real crab and the whitefish did not detract. the pasta was cooked correctly and the alfredo was not bad, but could have been a bit wetter and needed salt. The rum cake, which everyone can have as part of the meal, was interesting. I don't have a sweet tooth so it was lost on me and my wife doesn't like the taste of rum. The biggest disappointment was the price of the meals. I had looked at the menu in advance so I knew, but $20 for the Trio of dubious quality is way high. When I take into account the cost of the Groupon our meal plus two glasses of wine each and tip we forked out over $85 bucks plus a 40 minute drive from my home. I really don't mean this as a slam, but Fazolis would have been a better option. Having said that and in ALL FAIRNESS, the place was pack and has been around for decades, so it just goes to show you that we all have different tastes and that's ok.
(2)Unix R.
I cannot believe how this restaurant gets favorable reviews! The people are nice and have been here for a very long time but the food is NOT Italian! It is what Americans have translated as "Italian" - fresh out of the 1950's. I am positive that the Alfredo sauce was made with Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese, and poorly. My pasta was so over-cooked that it was mealy and limp. My only explanation is that this restaurant has an aging clientele that thinks this is real Italian food and has been dining here for decades. I will not be back. yech.
(1)Christyn K.
I love me some Italian. I also love me some ma-n-pah, one-of-a-kind local favorites. This place should then, in theory, warrant my love. It didn't. Went here on a sleepy Thursday evening with some friends who adore the restaurant. On the outside, and by looking at the menu, it deserved the adoration. We were seated in a dark thorough way and given the task of choosing from the large menu. We all ordered from the meal section and were given bread and small salads for starters. The bread was common, though my salad dressing tasted sour and possibly expired. The main courses came out and our dishes were very bland. I not only didn't finish my dish, but I also didn't take the rest of it with me (a bad sign). We ordered some dessert which made up for the lackluster quality of the previous dishes, but were a little sticker shocked after getting the bill thereafter. Overall, this place is unique and has potential. I might have just gone on an "off" night where nothing seemed right. Not sure if I will go back to give it another whirl, though...
(3)Ben H.
The food was great. Large size portions. Fantastic salad with house dressing. I enjoyed this experience very much. And our waiter was very friendly can't wait to come back. A must for Italian food lovers.
(5)Tracy M.
Great Italian food ! It is a bit of drive for us to get there so we only go on special occasions but it is well worth it. The food is old fashioned, sit down family dinner. The servers are always there with suggestions and the baked lasagna is my favorite. The restaurant has been around for 50 years and the decor is certainly not modern but this is what gives it that unique feel. You may find Momma V mingling with the customers if she not too busy baking up some desserts in the kitchen.
(5)WAJ W.
A great place for older folks who've been going there since they opened, and their children who've been going there since they were kids. It is the family place your family grew up going to. However, if this doesn't describe you, then it likely won't offer much. The menu feels like it's the menu they opened with in 1963 (see above) and the facade and exterior are obviously unchanged since then, too (see above). The sauce is ok if you like grandma's sugar-laced sugo (see above). I'd eat there again if nothing else was available.
(2)Heather P.
We went here and tried their Sunday brunch. It's best to get there right when they open to beat the church crowd because it fills up quick. The restaurant has a very intimate feel to it. The buffet isn't the biggest, but what they lack in size, they more than make up for in quality of the food. Everything was cooked well, seasoned great. You even get complimentary champagne or mimosas with your meal, as well as juice, coffee, tea, soda. There is also a mad-to-order pasta station. I've eaten here before for an evening meal, and was equally impressed, but I will definitely return for brunch.
(4)John M.
Every day a new and trendy restaurant may open... But sometimes a classic home-cooked style meal is what you crave. This cozy Italian restaurant is celebrating 50 years of family owned and operated business. The food is delicious & the wait staff is kind. Both serving food for the Italian soul.
(4)Danielle D.
I have grown up with V's! (although... They are a few years older than me, and celebrating their 50th year in business!) When I think back over my life, I have so many great memories here... Celebrations with family members for "milestone" birthdays... Dinner before prom... Fun nights out worth friends.. Baby showers.. Wedding rehearsal dinners... You name it, we have done it at V's! This restaurant was really a special place for our family as I was growing up, and now holds special memories for my husband and I as well. The food is fantastic! The menu is standard fare Italian American food... The stuff Mama V would cook in her own kitchen of she invited you to dinner. It's not trendy, it's not fancy... It's solid and always consistent. The wait staff are top notch... Always ready to meet your needs. And although some here may knock the decor, I find it classy and romantic. If you are lucky enough to be seated in a booth, look for the plaques at each table, with names and dates of couples who got engaged here. My go-to favorite is the eggplant parmagiana... Oh my. Dinner always includes a basket of bread, salad, a side dish (go ahead and get the spaghetti... It's worth the extra calories!) and a slice of rum cake for dessert. Sunday brunch is fantastic, too! Take a look at Groupon, and sign up for their email club... They regularly offer BOGO coupons!

I love V's. And I don't even like Italian food that much. Been eating there since I moved here in 2002. Very consistent noms. Had several different entrees, none I disliked. My favorite is the veal parm but I would also recommend the chicken spedini and the prime rib. Tried the champagne brunch for the first time on Sunday. Honestly, they had me at bottomless champagne. Then there was food, everywhere. It was like the Thanksgiving buffet in size but with breakfast offerings instead of turkey. French toast made with Italian bread, breakfast sausage made with Italian sausage, poached eggs, and fresh fruit. Pasta cooked to order, too. And desserts. Cinnamon rolls, pecan pie, chocolate cake and Italian rum cake (the besssst). We had a reservation but ended up with two more guests than originally booked. They were able to accommodate us after a short wait. Staff was friendly as always. It's Tuesday night and I'm still full.
(5)Crystal C.
Very simple way to describe Vs.. Over priced AMERICAN food, not Italian. Pretty sad when the crab is imitation && the shrimp tasted like it came out of a freezer bag. Just disturbing!
(1)K C.
Food is nothing more than reanimated frozen meat patties. Service was horrid! Ordered Veal Parmigiana and it appeared to be a Walmart frozen meat patty underneath. I really wish I took a picture. Needless to say I asked the wait staff if that was normal. They said yes. Sent my order back and opted to leave. This place needs Gordon Ramsey in here to straighten it out
(1)Fazil Ö.
People need to keep in mind this place is celebrating its 50th anniversary so naturally its not an Olive Garden nor Carabbas. Not everything is going to be in the same standard, some of the reviews are ruthless. Food is tastier than most I have eaten around, the service is attentive but its no robotic chain restaurant service. Overall its a good location to go eat Italian around town. Pretty laid back and lounge-y atmosphere. Enjoy.
(3)Yoie L.
V's was such a disappointment. My boyfriend and I came here for their early diner special which includes a salad, a main dish, and their rum cake for $10 from 4-6 pm. I thought this place was being shady by not bringing out their special menu until we asked for it. I also noticed they didn't bring the special menu to any of the customers there during that time. They charged $2 extra for a Caesar's salad that was the same size as their house salad. Really? The salad was nothing special and I wouldn't paid extra for it if I had known. I was also charged $5 extra for ordering a tiramisu. That was probably the only highlight of the meal except I wouldn't pay $5 for it. The restaurant is dark, cramped, and old. I felt like I was rushed the whole time there. The waiter brought out my entree before I finished my salad. He also kept interrupting my conversation with the bf. It was kind of obnoxious. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I just had to speak up after reading a few terrible reviews. Every restaurant has a bad day now and then but I've never seen one here. My parents are in their mid-80's and I'm 63. My youngest brother is 55 (I think) and we all have been there several times together. I liked it so much that I asked to go there on my 62nd birthday last year. Mom, Dad and the youngest brother enjoy V's as one of their favorites and they go there often. I've been for brunch, lunch and dinner. The food is always excellent as is the service - even where they're swamped. The ambience is dated but in a manner I love. It reminds me of restaurants decades ago in San Francisco where I once lived. What is exceptional to me is that even when it's crowded the layout of seating makes the meal feel intimate and private. It's hard to imagine a nicer place with better food and service. They can count on myself and my family to return in the future. Don't let a bad review put you off. Go to V's, try it out and write your own glowing review. From what I read hear, the statistics are well in your favor.

Just terrible. Slow, bad food, poor service in an old restaurant that would be better off being set on fire. Ordered the surf and turf "special" with a 5oz filet and fried shrimp. Waited 30 minutes for food in an almost empty restaurant. Asked the steak to be cooked rare; it was well done. Sent it back and got another tiny filet (another 20 min later) that tasted frozen and was maybe cooked medium-well but far from rare. The shrimp tasted like something frozen you might buy at Aldi. Wife's Caesar salad was drowning in dressing. Absolutely disgusting food and nothing would ever make me consider eating there again.
