What can I say? This place was amazing!!! Christine has every detail worked out so that guests will have a wonderful, relaxing and unique visit. The cottage is just straight out of Little House on the Prairie. I couldn't stop walking around admiring all the beautiful little accents around the room. She left us chocolate peanut butter cheesecake in our refrigerator and made us a breakfast in the morning that was out of this world! Definitely ask her recommendations of what to do in Hermann because we enjoyed everything she said to do (notably- eating at The Cottage and all the cats at Adam Puchta Winery). The cottage is on a picturesque little alley and the town itself is cute and walkable. Even my boyfriend enjoyed lounging in the cozy leather chairs in the cottage to read and relax while I was out antiquing. Perfect weekend get away. We will be back to this place!

I hate giving away this gem because I want it to be available whenever I want to get away. BUT, I want Chris, the owner to know how much we loved her and this perfect home away from home. My husband and I just got back yesterday for a 5 year anniversary weekend away. I can't say enough wonderful things about the cottage. From the moment you walk up the whimsical brick path to meet your long lost friend Chris to moment she unlocks your door to your cozy, perfect, romantic cottage. Everything is perfect. Chris has thought of EVERYTHING. Even things that you didn't even realize you wanted. You will be spoiled and never want to leave. One night isn't enough for this B&B. You will want to stay at least 2 nights (or a week). Chris gives just the right amount of attention to you that you feel special and not forgotten but also gives you your space for that much needed time alone. Breakfast is unreal. The place settings alone were enough to impress but then she brings out such decadent, beautiful dishes that are to dye for. BREAKFAST. WAS. DELICIOUS. The farm fresh eggs from her chickens made it all just that much better. After breakfast Chris gives you your dessert for that evening to keep in your fridge. This was perfect after a long day of winery trips and dinner. To snuggle up and enjoy your wonderful dessert was just blissful. Chris also gave us wonderful recommendations on local restaurants and wineries, so don't forget to ask her. I don't think our trip would have been as good as it was if it had not been for her great advice. The cottage is set on a tiny little road that feels like something out of a storybook. It is also in the heart of historic downtown so if the weather is nice you can walk anywhere. Not only will we back again and again but we made a new lifelong friend in Chris. We adore her and her special time and place she gives to people. This place is so very special as is Chris. We love you!!!! Missy and Toby

My wife and I visited this place and I must say that it offers something unique from other bed and breakfast places. First, some bed and breakfast placed feel very institutionalized or feel like just another hotel. The cottage itself has roomy comforts and one of the best bathrooms I have seen in a hotel as far as a jacuzzi and the decor. Breakfast was a standout. Creamy eggs does slide well with a good cup of coffee. I recommend having the breakfast in the patio area and not being afraid to socialize with the owners. They are very friendly and helpful in navigating your way around Hermann to know where to shop and eat. Very pleasant stay, very pleasant people, and something unique that can be experienced if you are looking for a break from the typical B&B experience. Make sure to have those chocolate chip cookies. They are some of the best that you will have.

Wow - this place is really something special! The owners of this B&B have thought of everything to make this a wonderful and romantic getaway. We truly felt like we were in an English cottage plucked straight out of a history book! From the decor, lighting and all the little extras (dessert in your fridge after dinnertime, neverending hot water, any breakfast you dream of at the time most convenient for you, farm fresh eggs, I could go on and on) they made this our favorite little B&B of all time. My fiance and I bring up Chris Cady's cooking about once a week...it was that good! We will be back many many more times.

This place is so wonderful that I hate giving out the secret, but I promised the hosts I'd give them a shout out here...I'll never stay anywhere else in Hermann because... The cottage-they've redone a detached garage (or carriage house) so it's like stepping into a 1700's English cottage. We were there on two cold, rainy days, and the place wrapped us in warmth and comfort-and romance! It's furnished with quilts, antiques and art from Hermann, and the bathroom has a jacuzzi for 2. Words don't do it justice, see the website! The hosts-you get their full attention, because you're their only guests. Jack and Chris are friendly and gracious, but know when to give you your space. Breakfast is pretty much on your schedule-Chris will ask you when you want her to have it ready in the morning. Sometime during the day she'll slip in and restock towels and put dessert in the fridge, which leads me to... The food-OMG, you won't need lunch after eating a Cady breakfast! The first morning was a baked apple in homemade fruit liqueur, eggs Benedict, potato pancake, and bacon; the next morning, poached pears, whole wheat pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage. Most of it is locally produced. Absolutely delicious, and served in their dining room that's also furnished in Colonial-period decor. And wherever you get dinner, skip dessert, because it's better back at the cottage-we had chocolate torte and a peanut butter pie that was so good I almost wanted to roll in it! A word of warning, if you will-they have wi-fi if you bring a laptop, and a CD player stocked with classical and American Standards, but no TV-they expect that you're there to enjoy each other. And in these surroundings, that's not a problem. A charming place, will definitely return!

This was my first time booking a bed and breakfast, so I looked at websites for places all over Missouri before contacting Chris Cady to get a gift certificate for my girlfriend. Chris was super helpful and I can say I felt I already knew her by the time we actually arrived to use the gift. I wanted privacy, elegant dining, and a warm cozy place to call home for a weekend, and the Carriage House was able to offer that and more! There were actual tears when we took our last picture before leaving, because from the breakfasts (that kept us full till way past 'lunch time') to the cozy coffee sipped over reading by the fireplace, we felt completely immersed in the relaxing but decadent atmosphere. Chris Cady was attentive and friendly, not to mention a phenomenal chef/cook, the perfect hostess! I hope it doesn't change for growing popular but I'll take the risk to sing it's praise!
