This place is the real deal!!! Best ribs around. Lots of menu choices from bbq salad to chicken(certain days) to Turkey. Their sides are also really good.

Turns out there is some really good BBQ in south Missouri! I had the combo that came with 2 ribs and pork and 2 sides. At first, it didn't look like a big portion and the meat was going to be dry. I was wrong on both accounts. The ribs had a really good dry rub on them and were done just right. There seemed to be more bone than meat but still very good. Pork was juicy, tender, and mixed well with any of the sauces. The baked beans were very sweet and really good. Some of the best I've ever had. Potato salad was good but nothing unique. The best part were the sauces. There were 4 sauces and all were outstanding! There was a Kansas City sweet, North Carolina Mustard, a Vinegar, and a Louisiana Hot Sauce. I couldn't decide which one I liked the best but all were legit! And to wash down the BBQ, the sweet tea was just right and there was free soft serve ice cream. There really is no reason to go to Dexter, Missouri but this BBQ makes a very compelling case to go!

Are you hankerin' for some good BBQ? Then this is your place. One of the best BBQ joints in Missouri. The ribs are so good with the rub that you can skip the sauce. If you need a little the have a great choice. They are labeled to help you understand what the sauces are like. Everything form the pork steak to the beans are top notch. If you are hungry best to get there early cause there will be a crowd. The service is great and the food comes out hot! This is a don't miss place if you are anywhere close.

Really nice smoked pork sandwich. Jack had small rib plate and ribs were great as well as corn and baked potato. Fries weren't as crisp as I like them but fast service, clean and free ice cream. $23 for a ton of food.

There just isn't enough space to tell you how awesome this restaurant is. So, I'll keep it to the top things. The BBQ is hot and fresh...and frickin' delicious! If you go through the drive-thru, good luck getting to your house or room without taking a bit. The interior of the restaurant is quite nice. The atmosphere is very friendly. The wait staff is always eager to please. There are several locations throughout Missouri and Arkansas, but it all started here!

If you're not a local already in the know, are in the area, and love BBQ, you must eat here. Best BBQ around! WAAAAAAY back in the day when I was in high school here, it used to be Hickory Log that was the place to get awesome ribs, but not anymore, they've gone way downhill since the 90's. Dexter BBQ is the best, no matter what you get. Ribs are our favorite, pulled pork is awesome, and if you want dessert get the peach cobbler if they have it! I had never tried peach cobbler until our last visit and wanted to buy a bucket of it, I know what I'm getting next time...ribs and peach cobbler! You can buy their BBQ rub by the pound, which I have done to try and make my own great BBQ at home now in KCMO, but haven't perfected the art of BBQ...yet. Every time we're in town visiting family, we go here at least once, more depending on our length of stay. Try it, I doubt you'll regret it if you like a good dry rub rib not drowning in sauce...but if you do like sauce, they have several to choose from on every table, too!

I so miss Dexter BBQ. I now live in Nevada and make it a point to always eat at Dexter BBQ when I return "home". My wife and I have found one place in Las Vegas that comes close but not as good as you guys. Keep up the good work Bruce and staff.

I have loved the ribs ever since I could remember! The dry rub smoked flavor is delicious! In fact all the smoked meat is great! I don't use the sauces much but I have tried them all. They are ok but I prefer the meat without any of them. The sides are pretty good as well but again. I usually get a rack or two to go and do my own sides. Stop in and try em out if you are in the area!

I may live in LA but I am from NC. And this place still sucks no matter where you are from. I don't expect to find good Pork BBQ outside of NC or TN but the least a place that calls itself a BBQ restaurant can do is get their sauces right. If you have a sauce on your table labeled "North Carolina Mustard Sauce" you deserve to go out of business immediately. It not only shows that you have no clue about BBQ but that you didn't bother to even do a google search about it either. The ribs were ok everything else was bland at best.

Well heres a third person from California doing a review on a place 1000 miles away. LOL.. Some of us DO know our BBQ. I've traveled all over and lived in many different places. This place is one of our must hit places when we visit Poplar Bluff. They do actual smoking (some BBQ places dont) They have a sauce that is a little unusual for the area though. Its more of an east coast type of sauce. Think of a regular BBQ sauce that is thinned down and has a more vinegar base. Kind of like a BBQ moisturizer if you will. Maybe you should bring a bottle of KC Masterpiece if you not into this. I like to get the stuff to go and bring it back to PB to eat. I dont really care for the restaurant. I went there one time craving a baked potatoe. It was over priced and came with margarine... thats it.. no REAL butter!! THOSE BASTARDS!! No sour cream, no chives, no green onions, no bacon... just a plain over priced potatoe with crappy margarine. From now on.... I get my ribs and go. Restaurant is kinda weird anyway. Its the same crappy bldg thats been there for 20+ years and they put linen table clothes and plastic flowers and white christmas lights. Go figure... they do have REAL good ribs though. My dad loves them cause they're kinda chewy.. like rib jerky... they're tender enough for me though
