After a long night of chillin with my homeboys, Waffle House is the perfect remedy to ease my early morning struggles. Paige was our waitress and brought us our food with a smile and a twinkle in her eye that said, "hey, I'm here to serve you but I'm going to have a good time while I do it." I can not tell you how many times I passed a Waffle House and wished I stopped in. After my first experience here, I can not say I will rush to a Waffle House anytime soon. First, it's a waffle house. Why are there barely any options for waffles? I think it would be brilliant if they offered a variety of waffles. I was really hoping they would have chicken and waffles. After all, it's southern soul food. That was somewhat of a disappointment. Despite that, I felt it was necessary to still order the waffles, so I settled with the peanut butter waffles. Talk about a sweet breakfast! The waffle was smothered with peanut chips and, as much as I love my sweets, I think the waffle was overly sweet. For a side, I ordered cheese grits. I must say it is quite hard to find great grits. It was a mistake to think this place would be an exception. They literally just melted a slice of cheese on top of the grits. My guests did not enjoy their food either. One of my guests ordered the burger and said the meat was very poor quality. If I am looking for a cheap breakfast, I will go to Denny's next time.

So I've finally had Waffle House, completing my list of absolute musts in order to be considered mid-western! (Just kidding) This location looks positively lonely by itself but at least that means you'll have your choice of tables and booths. The service was surprisingly good and the guys working here on July 4th gets real props from me for being so cheerful and friendly. The tables were sticky though (as well as the menus) and we had to get them wiped up. Food was like Denny's- mediocre diner breakfast food. The waffle look crispy but softened up very quickly and butter came in a little scooper thing like at Mcdonald's. The apple butter that went with raisen toast was delicious though, so you should get that instead of whatever else they offer as a side. Bacon was super burnt but still just barely edible. (Or it could just be me.) Prices were cheap...I guess? It's a 2.5 for me! (Because the guys were so nice.)

Had breakfast there on game day, place was packed, but the service was great, the food was wonderful, and I am a fan now!

This is a typical waffle house. It's a greasy spoon that is open late for your late night waffle cravings. The waffles are think, crispy, and light. The butter is fake, and so is the syrup. Still, it tastes pretty good after a long day traveling. The hashbrowns are ok too...
