I realize that every Bread Co. is fairly similar and that these days, they seem to be on every corner of every major intersection and are slowly taking over strip malls one at a time, however... I do enjoy this location quite a bit more than other locations. Yes, it offers the same menu as all other locations and has the same daily soup specials, and of course, the delicious vegetarian black bean soup. However, this place has one of the best outdoor dining areas of any Bread Co. in the city. There are a ton of tables, it is far enough off Clarkson that you don't really hear the traffic cruising by, and it's never that crowded, even on beautiful days. If this place was a bar and they had those amazing outdoor heating lamps, the patio would always be packed, I have no doubt. The wireless works great both inside and outside at this location as well. Who doesn't love free wireless and quasi decent coffee?

I generally love Panera/St. Louis Bread Co and have my usual go-to items. Popped in on a Sunday morning and, like usual, there was a line. Nothing to stress over, and one of the employees came over and offered for credit card customers to use their new kiosk ordering system. Cool beans, no more line! However, I'm a fairly educated person in graduate school and had a hard time figuring the kiosk self-ordering application out. I finally got a breakfast sandwich ordered and then took even longer to try to add a cup of coffee and ended up just giving up and going to the regular cashier after ordering the sandwich from the kiosk. No one was in the lobby by that point - that's how long I was at the kiosk. It was a good idea, but man, poor execution. So, panera as a whole, I still love, but this location dropped a few stars because ordering was such a bear.

Well I tried the Panera by my house again Sunday and again today (Tuesday). My take away chicken avocado club salad was missing the egg, cheese, bacon, and tomato Sunday. I ate in today and my salad was missing the chicken. What. The. Heck. Why are they doing quality control at the counter? Clearly they aren't really checking anything. Maybe I should stop ordering at the kiosk?

I made a quick stop to use the restroom and this place is very unkept. Heard one of the managers say to a patron we are short staffed. She definitely told the truth bc the restroom had no paper towels to dry your hands. I had to use tissues to dry my hands and turn off faucet and open the door. As I was walking out I noticed trash near the prep area. I don't think I would ever eat here. Looks to be a Panera that closed and now reopened with a new name but same decor of Panera Bread...would love to hear the story behind this "gem" of a place #insertsarcasm

This is a St. Louis Bread Co., like I've never seen. It's not straight. There are all sorts of turns and wiggles, nooks and crannies, corners and "quiet" areas for private meetings or working on your computer. This was my first visit to this facility, so I had to ask where to order. Well, duh, next register. I'm always at the wrong register. I got a large coffee. My register person didn't ask if I had a Panera card, but the register person next over DID ask her patron, so I chimed up with my card, and got $1 off my purchase. What a nice surprise . . . no thanks to my register person. You just get whatever coffee you want. All coffees have the time they were replenished so you can see how fresh the coffees are. I got decaf and topped it off with a little hazelnut. It was good coffee. Incredibly hot. I was meeting someone I did not know at 10:30 a.m., so I snagged a table facing the order area. And read my book. He arrived at 11:30 a.m. and by that time, I'd had three cups of coffee, read about 120 pages of my book, and the continual little splash of hazelnut was doing its job. We did our business in about 45 minutes. And I got a lot of coffee for just upwards of $2. I cannot fault St. Louis Bread Company for my hour-late appointment. But I can take off a star for my register clerk not asking if I have a Panera card. Just 'cause it's my first time at this store doesn't mean I don't have a card. Now that I think of it, I've been to other stores where they didn't ask if I had a card, and I didn't remember to brandish it. So, I may have lost out on buying a store. Let's train those register clerks. Walgreen's register clerks always ask.

The cashier neglected to ask us what sides we wanted. The same prepper who added cilantro to my sandwich (below) gave us a nasty attitude when we said the cashier didn't take the order and requested a change in side. Why would a customer lie? Just fix your coworker's mistake. I don't need a nasty face and accusation that I am a liar. All staff at this Panera Bread Co. needs retraining. The sandwich prepper somehow added cilantro to the baby spinach in the barbecue chicken flatbread sandwich. 1) Based on the menu, no cilantro should be on that sandwich. So maybe it was careless preparation. 2) In the event of a guest having food allergies, this is a medically dangerous error related to either poor training of the cook or careless maintenance of ingredients. 3) As is very well documented, cilantro tastes like chemicals or soap to some people. I am one of those people. The nasty soap taste ruined my sandwich. 4) When I reported the above concerns to two employees, I was met with disdain and nasty facial expressions. Neither man apologized or even validated my concern. Both need to be retrained in how to work with customers. This all leads to ... 5) I will not go to this Bread Co. location in the near future if I ever do again.

Bread Co or Panera (as it is called outside of St. Louis) seems to be my "go to" lunch place. Always consistently good wholesome food. Nice atmosphere. Wifi.

Not sure what the name of the place is. On the outside, says 'St. Louis Bakery'. But inside everything is Panera - including my receipt. Ok place. Nice selection of seating areas. Only complaint is at 7pm, they were out of coffee. Took about 10 or so minutes to fill the coffee dispensers. I would have thought someone would be responsible to keep the beverage station well stock.

I'm a big fan of the fresh and lively onions on their sandwiches. It makes all the difference in the world. I haven't dined in but the breads smell AMAZING.
