Not sure why this place is getting such bad reviews. The food here is very delicious and lots of variety. The staff was friendly as far as I could tell. Here is why I gave this place 4 stars. The only problem I noticed were the seating arrangements. Some of the booth tables were unstable and you can see where they glued them to the walls. I won't judge this establishment too harshly because they're still fairly new to this area. The food is great; don't let other reviews deter you from trying Home Town out.

Not impressed at all. $12.00 PER adult and below average food. Fried chicken was ok but nothing special. Meatloaf was dry, chicken strips and popcorn shrimp all batter. Didn't try the ham. Baked fish and ribs were cold and dry. On the good side....the canned chicjen noodle soup was ok, salad bar looked good. Bathrooms horrible. Overpriced meal and below average quality. Won't give it a second chance....

"If I came here on a first date, I would not get a second." Those were my thoughts as we were wrapping up dinner there tonight. First, let me premise this by saying I would not go to a buffet for a first date. That being said, this place is just bad. My wife and I ended up here after our plan A, B and C just did not work for one reason or another and we were tired of driving around and found this place on the mobile version of Yelp. My first clue that this place was bad would have been while pulling into the lot, none of the lights in the parking lot were on. Hometown Buffet is not located in a free standing store, rather in a plaza that it shares with a Kohl's and about 15 other businesses. Why the lights were out was beyond me, but it was very, very dark in the lot. I pointed this out to the hostess and she said it happened last weekend as well. When we left, the lights were on so maybe some timer or sensor is not working properly. At any rate, the food was just awful. I understand it is a buffet and I am not going to be getting an 8 ounce filet minion or anything like that. But there was zero quality to any of the food. Everything was the cheapest that it could have been. If it could have come from a can, been frozen when it arrived to the restaurant or prepackaged in any way, shape or form, it was. In addition, all of the decor in the seating area, plus all of the buffet lines was extremely dated. The carpet was worn in various areas, broken tile in the buffet area and just a general worn down feeling to the whole restaurant. As I have commented in reviews of other places, it is obvious that they are cutting corners with food and not investing into the appearance of the restaurant. If they used even slightly better food and improved the looks of the restaurant, it would go a long way to improving this place. The people that work there are nice and all, but everything else about the restaurant needs improvement.

This place is OK for what it is - typical home cooking buffet. Very popular among the retired community. Salad bar, dessert bar, tacos, nachos, salisbury steak, baked chicken, fried chicken, burger sliders, mac and cheese, chicken fettucine alfredo, corn, baked potatoes, fried fish, etc.

This place USED to be good! The restaurant used to be a good place to eat before the change of ownership, the food is tasteless,it's over-crowded, and the selection of food items are very limited, no seasoning and some items over cooked. They run out of DRINK cups, and when the food runs out it isn't replaced quickly, and when it is you kinda forget that you wanted it in the first place. I have suffered from diarrhea twice, and then clogged from constipation (NOT GOOD AND GROSS). I you want a good meal, and "QUALITY" family time, then DON'T GO TO HOMETOWN BUFFET!!!!!! Stay Clear!!!!

I call it "All-you-can-eat taco" buffet. Lots of dessert, good salad bar and taco bar. Other dishes are not that good. All cheap stuffs, like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, rice, gravy, some vege, sausage, fried fishes... Most food like from fast food store.

I like their fresh salad with a lot of choices. Juicy fried chicken is also good. Other things are just okay.

So it's exactly what we expected. A loud, cafeteria style buffet. The food was always hot and fresh, and the service was good. Getting your own drinks and refills is new, but fine. The price was $30 for two, so be prepared to eat enough to make that worth it. Overall, pretty good grub. I recommended the salads.

This place is the devil. The food is flavorless and the service mediocre. I want to enjoy eating my food and not just eat to get full. I don't like leaving a place feeling unsatisfied and feeling as if my time and money has been waisted. If you want to take your 'bestest' enemy here and give them the gift of upset stomach, uncontrollable bouts with forceful gas exiting the rectum, dry heaving, diareah-constipation combination--by all means do so!
