Friendly staff, has more of a fast food feel, parking was kind of a hassle. We ordered a dozen got a few of each (the fruit ones, bacon and egg, cream cheese)I'll say they were pretty decent until I bit into the bacon cream cheese jalapeño! Hands down one of the best!

Picked up an order for breakfast on a road trip. Staff was friendly. Order was ready quickly. Price point not bad anywhere from a $1.79 and up. I suggest the sausage egg & cheese. Lifetime customer.

We love the Kolache factory. It's so nice to get something that isn't sugary, but they have sweet kolaches also. The sausage and gravy is my favorite. For those of you who have never had one, a Kolache is a roll with different type of fillings. I've only had breakfast ones, but they have lunch also.

I never knew STL had a kolache factory until a few years ago when one of my colleagues had brought some for the entire firm. At first I was very shocked and surprised because I've only had kolache's in Texas! I tried the ones here, they were just average. I was expecting OMG WOW! Like the ones I'm Texas! I had tried the bacon and cheese, the jalapeño, and pepperoni. I didn't care for them as much as I thought I would. They were deff. super doughy. I was expecting them to be lite and filled with lots of filling, but they seem to skimp on the filling a bit. Maybe I'm being a little too picky with this review, because everything is much better (food wise) in Texas! Maybe I've been spoiled by the kolache factory down south. I'll deff. try this place again but not in a big hurry. PS their hours kinda stink

Whoever called these puppies light was sorely mistaken! Thinking that these were small light treats, I purchased three... And nearly fell over when the guy handed me my bag! These things are heavy. One or two is more than enough to leave you full all morning. The dough is mildly sweet, like a less sweet but more dense version of Korean buns. The fillings I tried were very good. They made a great breakfast on the go. Beware of how quickly the calories add up here, however! Kolache factory's nutrition information is available online, and I highly recommend you take a peek at it before stopping by! 3 of these tiny buns (depending on the filling) are almost the equivalent of 4 dollar menu burgers at McDonald's, for instance. Delicious kolaches, but the health conscious should beware!

I like this place less and less and sometimes I don't know why I stop there, this might have been my last time. The biggest reason is that when I arrived they were overstaffed and the woman helping was busy eating and acted as if I interrupted her meal. I am not sure I will come back.

They were open for breakfast on Thanksgiving morning. Good... 'cause I was hungry. Their meat filled pastries are a bit too doughy for me. I wish I could get them cooked longer so the bread would stiffen a bit. But alas, they are all cooked the same. Anyway, I tried the sausage and gravy kolache this last time. The filling was good. They'd be great to bring to the office instead of doughnuts.

I have driven by this place for years and never stopped in. I have seen coupons in the Entertainment Book and still never stopped by. Well, I finally stopped by and I can say this. YUM!!! These little balls of flavor a deceptively filling and full of wonderful tastes. The following are my favorites. I ate 12 of them in one sitting...that's not something I would recommend, but they are so good I can see it happening. 1. Sausage and gravy - Simply wonderful, my personal favorite. 2. Pepperoni pizza - Wonderful, and a close second to my fav. 3. Bacon, cheese and egg - Delicious, and a great breakfast choice. 4. Philly cheese - Another great pick. 5. Pulled BBQ pork - Just amazing. There are so many others, you just have to try them all. Do yourself a favor and stop driving by wondering. This is worth a visit. Especially if you have an E Book.

I found what they had on offer way too doughy and heavy. I also didn't appreciate the microwave on the counter was used to re-heat *everything*. This place offers a complete novelty but I really don't know how Texans would eat this everyday! Surely they have competition in the Kolache world over there and this establishment here is simply getting one over on us :)

For the better part of at least a year, I wondered whether or not this business was open. Driving through Brentwood only in the later afternoons and evenings, the shop always appeared closed and I never quite understood why until I received a coupon for 3 free kolache: they close after lunch every day. As an on-the-go meal solution, the kolach is great (think of it like a Hot Pocket... except classier and with less potential to unexpectedly break, spilling its contents). The morning I stopped by, there were at least a dozen varieties available, each stuffed with a combination of meats, cheese and vegetables. There were also fruit and cream-cheese topped kolache. You can get an idea of the flavors via their website, but most are self-explanatory from the labels in the shop (the Bacon & Cheese, for instance, is stuffed with Bacon and Cheese...). Comparisons to Dunkin' Donuts (in layout/display) are more than fair; the kolache are lined up on labeled bakery trays arrayed behind the counter and there are a few tables, but not many (half of the utility of these things is the ability to consume them with one hand while on the way to somewhere else, right?). Coffee is also available and the counter service is relatively quick. Others have commented on the gentle sweetness of the bread and I agree. The hot polish and pepperoni pizza options were both good (especially since they can be served warm, just ask), as were the cream cheese topped ones, though none of these do I expect to crave.

Tried this place out for the first time. Never had kolaches before but dang these are good for breakfast. Not expensive either! Like between $1.75 and $3 per kolache. They all tasted very good. Would go again.

I had driven past this place dozens of times and never knew what a Kolache was. (I guessed it must be some fancy brand of coffee). About 2 months ago someone brought a box of these kolaches to my office and I tried one. They are not coffee although the Kolache Factory does serve coffee. No. These little things are sweet bread rolls filled with a variety of different things from meats and cheeses to fruit and cream cheese. I stopped in for the first time today for a quick breakfast on the run. The girl who helped us was super friendly as soon as we walked in the door, explaining the menu and helping us make selections. My daughter and her friend absolutely loved the Cinnamon Roll and I had a Ranchero and Sausage Egg and Cheese. They were both amazing. If you want to try something different for breakfast stop in here. If you ever buy breakfast for a group, these little flavor bombs are sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Good Kolaches and good coffee. Friendly staff. This would be the part where I would write something sarcastic or ridiculous but I can't think of anything.

I initially thought this place was an independent but it's a franchise. I can't say I am an expert in kolaches but they weren't nearly as good as what I had at the famous kolache place in West Texas between Dallas and Austin. The fillings are limited and not very compelling so I had a hard time choosing something. Also a bit pricey for what it is. Disappointed overall.

I'd never been to The Kolache Factory before today, I'd only ever heard stories from my husband who has enjoyed the place on his many trips to Texas. This wasn't our first choice for lunch, but seeing as it was a holiday many things in the area were closed. The second we saw this place, my husband went nuts. I was skeptical at best. I ordered two Kolaches, one ham and cheese and one pepperoni. But we're delicious! How do they pack so much goodness into those perfectly delectable buns?! Just as we were about to leave, they pulled the cream cheese Kolaches out of the over, my husbands favorites. We grab two and took them to go, I wasn't disappointed! Slightly sweet and totally yummy. Go there, eat them.

I've been eating kolaches now for 2 decades. That gives me some kolache street cred, right? When this Texas based franchise hunkered down in the STL I was over the moon. I grew up on these things in Texas and it was exhilarating to see them migrate north. You won't find people like Lance Armstrong, Richard Simmons, or Jillian Michaels dining in here. This is calorie heaven, but who cares. These meat filled dough balls are the best thing going since sliced bread. I stay away from the sweet filled pastries, but that isn't to say they are bad. It's all about the savory goodness of the warm bread, meat, and cheese that is the ultimate comfort food when the mood strikes. The Kolache Factory is in a league of it's own because it really is such a unique breakfast item. If you are in the mood to try something outside the box for breakfast, this place should be on top of your list.

OMG! These little pieces of heaven are delicious! If you're familiar at all with Asian cuisine, it reminds me of Siopao (steamed buns). I've tasted the potato, egg and cheese, spinach, eggs florentine (March flavor of the month) and Apple strudel. My fave is definitely the potato egg and cheese. The bread is soooo good!! I really LOVE sweets (like really obsessed) but the savory ones are the way to go here. I'm a vegetarian so I haven't tasted the meat ones but several of my co-workers say the biscuits and gravy one is the best. So next time you want to stop and pick up some breakfast on the way to work, go here instead of your local donut shop (even though I have nothing against donuts).

Wow, this beats McDonald's for breakfast anytime. Basically these fresh baked pastries, essentially a high quality hot pockets, are filled with anything and everything, making the Kolache Factory not only an ideal place for breakfast but also for lunch. I personally love the breakfast kolache's but the Pizza, Italian Chicken, and BBQ Beef are great treats for lunch. The dough is a little sweet, and reminds me a little of a Hawaiian Sweet roll. I have never had the fruit kolache's but I imagine they are just as good. I wish that they had another location and stayed open later than 2pm, otherwise I highly recommend stopping by when you are in the area.

I recently moved to the area and there is a Kolache Factory near my home. One Sunday morning we got Kolache Factory for breakfast. I have never had it before and was a little skeptical at first to try something with anything baked in a roll... like bacon egg and cheese or Philly cheese steak. Well let me tell you something... if you haven't experienced a Kolache, you should. They are amazing. The roll is sweet and light and anything you put in it tastes great. You can get almost anything in them. They are easily re-heatable and they are easy to eat on the road. They are great for kids because they can hold them in their hands and it won't cause a mess. They are open Monday to Saturday from 6am to 2pm and Sunday from 7am to 2pm. There service is fast and friendly even though they are busy all the time. I am usually in and out within 5 minutes. If you order ahead of time you can make a party tray..which will be great for Football Sundays. And you get a discount if you order a dozen. I stop by there at least once a week. I would recommend this place to anyone... although if I do they will be too busy for me.

I have had kolaches in Texas. Like everything they are bigger in Texas. They are great for breakfast or snacks. Frequently they have a sausage, high quality sour kraut and mashed potatoes surrounded by a soft pretzel roll. . The kolache factory has a different concept on them. They were very enjoyable filled rolls. I had the sausage gravy and did not care for it. The philly was really good. I also enjoyed the meatball and marinara. Again non traditional flavors but nonetheless still very good. This is clearly an alternative to pastry shops, donut shops or fast food. Yum!

Kolaches were first introduced to me by my manager at work. She used to live nearby and we had several great months at work so she brought us some for a breakfast treat. Since I am not big into bread, potatoes, rice and other carb product consumption, I doubted I would ever like them. I tried one anyway and wow! I live close to the kolache factory and now on my days off, I try to make a point to go there and pick up a dozen to enjoy during my days off. I highly recommend the sausage and gravy. It is so delicious. Another of my favorite from this place is the jalapeño poppers! I have had both the breakfast variety as well as the lunch kolache and for being a person who isn't a big fan of breakfast foods, I can honestly say that the breakfast variety is so much better. My colleagues now asks me to stop by here over the weekend to pick some up for work all the time. I only wish they are open earlier and later but one makes time for such fantastic treats!

A Kolache is better then any biscuit or McMuffin from any fast food place. Their freshly baked pastries are stuffed with a variety of hearty ingredients making them a perfect breakfast or light lunch. Get there early for the freshest, and keep in mind they close at 2 p m. Wish they were closer, but they're an extra treat when we are in the Brentwood area.

This has been one of my favorite spots since I was little. This is the perfect spot for weekend breakfast/lunch/brunch. Today when we visited, we ordered a dozen Kolaches including: Italian: Chicken and cheese with Italian seasonings ... delicious BBQ Beef: BBQ sauce and shredded beef ... pretty good Jalapeno Popper: bacon, cream cheese, jalapeno ... one of the best Potato, Egg, Cheese: self-explanatory ... a bit bland, but with a little salt and pepper, delicious Kolache of the Month - Turkey & Dressing: This was really good. It had white meat, gravy, and delicious dressing. Meatball: This one was okay. The meatballs tasted like your standard store-bought meatballs in marinara sauce. Cheese might've made this better. Bacon & Cheese: Delish! Raspberry: Not your typical Kolache... it's like a Danish without the glaze. Ranchero: One of my favorites! Egg, ham, salsa...delish. Kolaches will run you anywhere from $1.50-$3.00 each. You save 10% if you buy a dozen, and they're definitely worth it. Get to this place early, though. It's always busy, and when they're out ... they're out. I would definitely recommend. Sign up for their email club for coupons.

You can get sooo many different types of flavor combinations in the perfect bread container. The bread is soft and not too yeasty or too sweet. It is just right. My favorite stuffings for these guys are the sausage and gravy, texas hot, polish hot, and italian chicken. The sweet ones always seem to be a little bit of a let down after you have had the savory ones, so don't bother with them. They usually have a special of the month that I like to get just to change things up. The parking can be a little difficult and the inside is not always the cleanest place in the world, but I always seem to enjoy myself and come away stuffed. If you have 3 or more people I would suggest ordering together so you can get them by the dozen and save a little bit.

The dough they make here is pretty amazing. I wish they had more vegetarian flavors but I don't think that's their target market. Blueberry - tasted a little funky to me. The filling was very going and not very sweet. Can't say I order it again. Biscuit and gravy - I only tried a bite since I don't eat a lot of meat but this one was good. Atmosphere - It's more of a take and go kind of place, but there seating if you want to hang around. Not the friendliest service but they were fairly quick. I'd definitely like to go back and try some savory flavors. I really want to like this place more and will give it a shot. It's a great on the go fun food.

Having spent some time in Houston I was both surprised and excited when I found this Brentwood location. Upon arrival, the chain was exactly the same and it's southern accomplices. The kolaches are lined up on the back wall, all the favorites and a "flavor of the month." I ordered a couple to go, they heated them up, and I was on my way within a couple minutes. There are a couple seats available for customers interested in dining in. Someone was even on a laptop, so maybe there was wi-fi. For those of you not familiar with kolaches, they are pastries that resemble a ball, sort of. They are traditionally stuffed with some fruit and are somewhat sweet. The Kolache Factory has lots of breakfast variety kolaches, though, such as sausage and gravy, ham egg and cheese, potato and egg, etc. Definitely worth a try if you have not had one.

Aah kolaches. Mmm mmm, these little f*ckers are pretty tasty. I enjoyed the ranchero, the sweetness of the bread was a nice complement to the salty spicy center. Extremely comforting and easy to eat. Perhaps the most perfect hangover food. On the negative side, I wish they'd put a little more filling in these things. Way to much bread for my liking. I don't exactly get a high quality vibe from the ingredients, everything just seems kind of thrown together. I got one with sausage and it was just half a sausage link inside a piece of bread. Meh. The philly cheesesteak was pretty good. Prices are slightly inflated, but not awful. The whole vibe is kind of like a Dunkin Donuts. If you live less than 10 minutes away, I'd say this place is worth trying out, if only for the novelty. If you brought a dozen of these to the office in lieu of bagels or donuts, people would probably like it. But the quality isn't high enough to really keep coming back. Maybe I'll pop in if I happen to drive by with a case of the munchies, but that's about it.

This place is a hidden gem! First tried kola he about a tear ago after hearing about it from a friend. Pulled up and had no clue what to expect. Now this place has become one of my favorite go to breakfast stops. Just know that they are very filling though. If I eat 2 rolls I'm done! Try it out, I'm telling you you're not gonna regret it! ...unless you eat 1 too many that is

A new job has me driving by the Kolache Factory every day. Something in my DNA knew I needed to research and try this place. Doesn't "kolache" just sound like something your German or Polish grandmother would make? Slightly hungover and really hungry, I opted for an assorted dozen. So far, my favorites are the meatball and Italian. They were out of buffalo chicken, but I will definitely try that next time. The potato/egg/cheese/tomato was very bland, so won't be getting that one again. Bottom line, what's wrong with meat and cheese-filled balls of dough? Notta damn thing.

  • Leslie S.

This place is good when you want something different for a change. Breakfast or lunch only since they close at 2pm. Each kolache is only $1 to $3, and I'm satisfied with 1 or 2. Service is hit or miss, but I will say that it was good on my most recent visit. I would not recommend anything with bacon in it; it never seems like it gets cooked enough. And not the sausage one; I think it's like a sausage link in a hollow dough shell. What I will recommend is the sausage and gravy one. Completely rocks. My 2nd favorite is the pizza, which is a combination of pepperoni and mushroom. My 3rd favorite is ham and cheese. I know the Ranchero is popular, but I'll admit I haven't tried this one yet, so until next time...

Stopped in for breakfast one morning and this place was a really pleasant surprise. Something really unique and different, breakfast and lunch sandwich items essentially wrapped up in these deliciously fluffy bread pouches. I tried the bacon egg and cheese, the chipotle chicken, and the philly cheesesteak. All excellent. They're small so you order them like bagels or donuts, but they have a serious, ever changing variety. The location is small and similar to a little cafeteria with bin of delicious pouches to order. You can stay in and enjoy them or take them home for a quick 40 seconds in the microwave and they'll be toasty warm. Priced by the individual, half dozen, or full dozen, there's a bargain to be had, but individual they are about half the price of a sandwich else where.

I love kolaches! My favorite is the pizza one, because I LOVE PIZZA! It is best to stop by early since that is where you'll get the best selection possible. The cost does add up if you're buying some for work, but everyone is happy when they're eating it. Another reviewer said to try the sticky buns - YES! This is a must! It reminds me of the rolls my dad used to buy from the local bakery back home (but they weren't sticky buns). The service is not that bad for the times I have been there. If you go there close to closing, maybe you might feel a little horrible.

The best kolache ever.... Period! Try one or 3. My fav is ham & cheese, sausage & gravy, or the potato.

A filled dinner roll? I've never seen anything like this in CA. I went here for breakfast and ordered the egg/sausage/cheese Kolache. It's basically a dinner roll that you can order with about 20 different fillings. I wouldn't rave about this place, it's really just a small, fast-food restaurant although I would definitely give this place a try for breakfast since it's so unique. I would imagine that kids really like it.

  • Sarah S.

Very interesting little breakfast pastries. I love how they have sweet and savory flavors. I preferred the spinach one over the raspberry one I had. The raspberry one tasted like it had really sticky jam type stuff in the center and it didn't taste very good. The spinach was really flavorful and the bread around it tasted flavorful too. This place is cheap and lots of options. For a vegetarian that doesn't eat eggs, the selection is limited. I wish they'd have a plain cheese one without egg. I am going to go here again to get some kolaches for work because they are a unique and inexpensive thing to bring!

  • Kelly B.

As noted in previous reviews, the Kolache Factory is set up like a donut shop with mostly semi sweet donut rolls stuffed with savory mixutres that would typically be found in an American fast food restaurant (philly beef, spinach, sausage, etc.). I would not personally call these kolaches because they are highly processed and they lack texture. The spinach kolache is stuffed with a mixture that I would compare to spinach dip that you'd find at an American bar, not the spinach mixture that you'd find in Central Europe. On a positive note, this is another fast food alternative that is affordable and different. You can get a variety of up to three kolaches for about $5.

    (3)
  • Jim O.

I finally stopped in to try some of their fare; definitely not disappointed! You have to try their sticky buns! I do suggest earlier is better. By late lunch selection is limited.

  • Jessica M.

Who doesn't love Kolache's? Kolache Factory has all kinds of different flavors of Kolaches. My favorites are Sausage Egg & Cheese and Sausage & Gravy. But they also have special flavors for each month, so there's something new every time you visit! This location is a little worn down, but the service and food is still great!

  • Joe K.

After having these pastries all my life from my Grandma and Mom. I can say that this is not what I thought it would be. I was not happy with the taste and this is not what I was raise on from my European ancestors So if you want the real thing make them at home.

    (1)
  • Madison N.

Everything is great here. My favorite thing to do is to get a box or 12, all different flavors, take them to a brunch party, and have everyone play Kolache Roulette! You don't know what you'll get, and none of them will explode or anything if you choose the wrong one :), and it's just a lot of fun!
