We have had a lot of disappointing meals in Branson but this was not one of them. Was it perfect? No. But it was very good. It was very hot today so we had a light appetizer and i had the spinach salad which was very good. Think i would have liked it better with warm chicken and a warm bacon dressing though, more like the traditional spinach salad. My husband liked his Trout ok, but that's a high compliment for him ;) I loved my punch cocktail, light and sweet. The Khalua Ding Dong dessert was also good.

The menu shows promise and the space itself looks great. But when you wait NINE minutes at a restaurant that is probably 60% full on a Saturday night at 7:00 pm and no one even greets you at your table, something about the service must be wrong. Even when this fact was pointed out to the manager on duty, he did nothing to resolve the issue.

I can only review on the wings. We went there for happy hour on a weekday and just wanted a drink & some wings. The menu describes the wings as "10 JUMBO wings" with your choice of sauce. We ordered the mango habenero wings and they were the smallest, worst tasting wings that we have ever tasted. We both tried one each and put it down after 1 small bite. It tasted like they were fried in rancid oil. I posted a photo of the wings, but the nasty and smelly flavor doesn't come through in a photo. But, you're warned. If I owned or managed this place, that would never have come out of my kitchen. We moved the wings away from us and the 8 wings left on the plate sat in front of us on the bar the entire time we sat there (hour and a half) and the bartender never removed them or asked if we liked them. When he brought the check, he took the plate of untouched wings and tossed them in the trash. Bartender could have been more attentive or friendly. He became that once he handed us our tab though. They do have a great happy hour, Mon-Fri, 3-6 pm with half off beer, wine & appetizers. And, their menu states that happy hour on Saturday is 11 am to 6 pm, so that would be a great deal. The restaurant is clean and decorated very nicely and we were greeted by a friendly staff member. I think I will try this restaurant again since it has received great reviews, but I would definitely not order the micro "jumbo" nasty wings.

The drinks are amazing here. I recommend getting the the Cabo flip. It is so smooth and tastes great. It's different from your typical margarita. It is the martini version of a margarita. The punch drink was very refreshing. The food was good. The fried chicken was good. But the mashed potatoes and zucchini was bomb!

Things that this restaurant does good = plate temperature, room temparature and some decoration items. Things this place does wrong = pretty much everything else. But if you are in for bland food and being serviced by 10 different people in one meal, this is definetly your place.

Quick and friendly service. Very reasonably priced for being on The Landing. Food was fresh and tasty, as well as locally sourced. Would definitely eat here again

Went for dinner and came back the next night for happy hour. Both times the food was tasty, and the servers were friendly. Well-priced option for the Landing area. The rosemary chicken was a huge portion with really creamy potatoes for under $10. The happy hour was an even better deal with good specials on cocktails and 1/2 appetizers. It was cold when we went, but it looked like a really nice patio out back, nice in warm weather for watching the river.

Not the best meal I've had. Menu was limited and flies were bothersome. Lots of other places in Brandon.

Dirk is amazing and very attentive. Food is off the hook awesome. Prime rib dip is big enough to split with a date. Thanks for a great experience! Dan Giffin

Good food good service good prices. We liked the place. Our waitress was quick and precise. Our drinks were refilled on que. If your looking for tasty american food around Branson Landing give it a try.

The place had a really cool atmosphere/interior. The food has been good every time that I've visited. I wish that I would have saved room for any dessert because the whole tray looked delicious. If you're visiting the landing then give this place a try.

Would not pay to eat here again. Tourist trap. Fast service but food lacks flavor worth the price. Presentation was fair. The pot roast was tender but not tasty. Trout was bland and served with rice. Tasted like a chain restaurant.

  • Lori E.

Good food and nice enough atmosphere. We had salmon and trout dishes both were overcooked...Ahi salad was cooked right. Oddly they were Out of rice though offered as an accompaniment on many dishes . Service ok. Pricing ok. Better than a chain.

This was a great Valentine's meal. The special they were running with soup/salad, select entree (trout, steak, or pork chop) and red velvet cake for dessert was very affordably priced. We were seated promptly (thank you for noting they took reservations Yelp) and served promptly. The steak I had was very flavorful and needed no sauces. The mashed potatoes were great as well. My wife's stuffed pork chop was a little dry, but was tasty otherwise. I was disappointed in the kids' mac and cheese which was little more than Kraft. For $5.00, you can make mac and cheese fresh. But, my 12 oz. beer for $5.00 was very well priced. The only other qualm I had was that the banquette that we were in was a little tight. They didn't have any open tables, so we made due with it. Regular menu items were about the same price for the most part as a Red Lobster or Olive Garden, so I could see coming back here for a meal the next time we are in Branson. Overall, a very nice Valentine's meal with attentive service.

Had the pleasure of dining here with my family while visiting just before Christmas. Unfortunately I have an allergy list a mile long usually leaving me with plain chicken and lettuce. Not the case here. As soon as I told our server, Kat, I had allergies she brought the general manager, Casey, over to help me navigate the menu. Casey was AWESOME, very understanding and helpful. Together we selected the petite sirloin, sautéed zucchini and steamed broccoli. It was by far the best meal I've had in a long long time. Mom ordered chicken fried chicken. She said it was fantastic! Juicy and you could actually taste the chicken not just breading. Husband has Pounded Chicken Parm. Said it was delicious! We would highly recommend this place if your in the area. We will definitely be back next time we visit Branson.

Food was ok. Had to ask for thousand island dressing for my Reuben sandwich and we were pestered by many houseflies during our meal...not very appetizing!

  • Noah P.

Pot roast was fantastic! Rosemary chicken was also very tasty. We ordered the tomato basil soup as an appetizer, great decision! We arrived an hour prior to closing so there was no one there. Received our food within 10 min of ordering. Great service and atmosphere. The boulevard wheat beer was also delicious!

Food was below average and the service was worse. We should have known when we walked in and the restaurant had MAYBE 10 people in it that there was something very wrong! Plenty of good restaurants at the landing...just keep walking!

Stopped in for a beer and a meet up and the Wit beer was great. We decided to try our luck on the menu and it was just ok. It was a thursday night at about 8:30, just after sunset. The place was a ghost town save for a few at the bar, which we chose to do as well. The bartender was very busy cleaning up but gave us the attention we needed so no complaints there. I had the trout. Surrounded on both sides by a rice dish buy no veggies. This was a disappointment and although the trout was tender it was flavorless. The almonds slices were all there was... The tomato bisque was good, the Caesar salad typical with nothing special. It'll do but not worth making a special trip here.

Dinner on Sunday night 8/31. Moderately busy for the holiday weekend. We were a party of 2 seated where requested within 5 minutes of arrival (lake view!). Draft beer was cold and fresh. Waters were served with the lemon in the water which is a pet peeve of mine. Appetizer was served promptly but had stale chips (Spinach dip). Server apologized and brought back warm chips however it was obvious that these are not made in house and just warmed. Bread was fresh and hot with good quality butter. Wife's meal was a smoked chicken salad with spinach leaves and cranberry and pumpkin seeds with goat cheese. Dressing was a hot bacon vinaigrette. Salad was good except the chicken had some red spots from being undercooked. I had a grilled chicken with sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes. All in all dinner was nice but had the potential to be spectacular.

A very nice choice for Branson. We were seated right away on a Saturday night and they were busy. We sat near the bar which turned out to be a great spot! We were able to watch the bartenders entertain themselves and their customers. Our waiter, Dillon, was great , very helpful and attentive. The food was good.....not fantastic, but good, and reasonably priced. The local beer was cold and good. It has a ton of carbonation in it so you Have to sip it ..unless you want to man burp...which I didn't want to do. We ordered the spinach dip and split a Ruben . We will definitely go again.

Enjoyed our water view meal during our vacation! Great service and food. Would likely return here on a future vacation. My husband had a burger that was enormous and couldn't finish it. I had chicken fried steak that came with fresh seasonal veggies. Broccoli was the veggie and while I'm not a huge fan it was very fresh.

Dinner on a Tuesday night. Greeted and sat immediately. Server was attentive (Cat). Fresh bread and butter is excellent. I had chicken fried chicken and husband had pot roast. We both enjoyed our meal. Nothing spectacular or special but reasonably priced and tasted good. A lot of the restaurants on the landing are way overpriced for mediocre food but we were pleased with our experience here while on vacation.

I came here with my family on Easter, and my family said there meals (5 cheese grilled cheese with Caesar salad, grilled meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes) was excellent. My meal, the center cut Angus steak, was cooked wonderfully. I am happy to say that this place was very clean, and the service was fast, even thought people were getting out of church.

The food was very good and the service was great. If you are out shopping and want a light lunch or dinner it is highly recommended. We tried the grilled chicken with rosemary and the club sandwich. The food was cooked perfectly. My daughters chicken strips was great for her.

Anniversary dinner, outside by the water, golden light, great service from Dirk. The stuffed pork chop was well flavored, slightly on the dry side, but the mushrooms, gruyére cheese filling was fantastic! Smashed potatoes fantastic. My husband's center cut sirloin was cooked to perfection! Yummy chocolate dessert and the wines fab. Highly recommend.

Love this place! The staff is great and friendly. The menu has a nice variety and the food is delicious. I had the coconut shrimp and even though it only came with 4 pieces they were truly jumbo shrimp and VERY filling! They also came with fries and a super tasty apple-slaw. I would recommend this place, absolutely!

The atmosphere at the Black Oak Grill was very relaxed and the service was attentive and very friendly. One of us ordered the Turkey Club and found it to be delicious. The fries were lukewarm. My friend ordered the Pork Chop dinner. The chop and potatoes were delicious, however, the potato portion was skimpy and the presentation on the plate was lacking because there was no color. Some type of seasonal vegetables would have made the meal more pleasing to the eye and more complete.

Excellent buffalo wings. Tomato basil soup was great. Pork chop was a little sweet but I really liked it. Waitress was excellent and very personable. Will definitely return.

This was our second visit here. Hubby spied immediately that their bloody mar claimed to be "One better than the best one you've ever had'. So he decided to rise to the challenge. He reports that although he can recall one better, it was a great version of the classic. We opted to sit out on the patio to enjoy the weather and the lake view. Our server was attentive although she had an urge to rush. Her section was not full but she seemed to be on a speed too fast and walked away before we were done talking to her. We also had to ask for flatware and napkins. We ordered an app of onion rings served with remoulade sauce. For entrees, hubs ordered chicken fried chicken and I selected a burger. The rings were yummy and looked and tasted house made. However, our biggest pet peeve occurred...we were still eating them when our entrees arrived. It's all in the timing folks. So his chicken fried chicken was a very large portion and looked very good. He reports that it had a great flavor and was more food than he needed (yet he cleaned his plate). My burger was very good. It was smaller than the bun which was off-putting but the flavor was very well-developed. It came with fries. Remember how I said the rings were house made? Well, the fries were frozen grocery store fries. So disappointing! Hand-cut fries are so easy and so good. They could at least make an effort to do their own. (I rarely use frozen fries at home.) Overall, the meal was good and the outside dining was pleasant. We will for sure be back.

Portion were a little small by American standard. Disappointed by our pulled pork sandwiches. If they change the portion size that would be better. Watch out for the jalepeno under the pulled pork. It was a little bit surprising kick for me. The taste of the fried and meat were spot on. I ventured into wine in this grill place and their table wine was actually decent. Value not so good due to portion. Decent kid menu options. We got the penne marinara, they require chopping down for a 18 month old.

Went for lunch. Very reasonably priced. I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Enjoyed every bite. My husband had the cheeseburger (can you tell how adventurous we are) and he enjoyed it thoroughly as well. Will definitely go back!

Great service and great food! I had a salmon caesar and hubby had spinach dip. Drinks were good too, only 3 beers on tap though. Wish we'd been hungrier, we want to try the Kahlua ding dong! :)

We were in town from St. Louis for the weekend and looking for a unique place to eat. I would say we definitely found it. The environment was reminiscent of a Vermont ski lodge with white ship lap on the walls, antler chandeliers, and a fireplace in the middle of the room. As far as the food, I noticed that the lettering on the window said they carried local beef. So, I figured I would give it a shot in the form of a classic bacon cheese burger. The beef lived up to and exceeded my expectations. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. As far as the fries, I was a little disappointed there. They were good, but just good. They were kinda plain large steak fries. I would have loved to have seen seasoned sweet potato fries or something unique. However, overall, I was very satisfied with the whole experience. Its well worth the trip.

We come to Branson at least 1-2 times a year and always have a good time. We just came back from a fun weekend with another couple. We spent the day doing some touristy things and ended up at the Landing for a little shopping. The guys were waiting for us girls to finish up so they stopped into Black Oak for a beer. Once we finished shopping, us girls decided to have a drink as well. We sat at the bar and had a few of their specialty infused drinks. The apple pie moonshine was delicious! The cherry whiskey was fabulous as well. After a few drinks, we were having so much fun with our servers/bartenders (Dillion and Patrick) we decided to eat dinner at the bar. We started with the spinach dip and fried goat cheese as appetizers. Both hit the spot and were perfect openers for our meals. We ordered the chicken fried chicken, the meatloaf, an Ozark burger and the pot roast. The chicken fried chicken was yummy. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and half a crown of broccoli! The gravy was tasty and they even brought out a little more for me! The Ozark burger actually came out as an Over the Top burger. My husband said it was still delicious. We didn't bother mentioning this as it was one of the options that he was thinking about ordering. The pot roast was fantastic as well. The gentleman in our party that ordered the meatloaf was not thrilled with it. Dillion overheard this and offered to bring him something else instead. This was great customer service as they did not have to do that. He ended up getting the chicken fried chicken as well and really enjoyed it. We sat around the bar eating and drinking for several hours. It was so entertaining. I can not say enough about the wonderful service we received. The manager even came over to chat with us and brought us several desserts. The Kahlua ding dong and carrot cake are both fabulous! The carrot cake comes from a local store that is in the Landing as well. There is a nice atmosphere at the restaurant. It was not overly busy for a Saturday night. A few big groups came through and plenty of families. We were so glad that we decided to stick around the bar for dinner. I also can't speak highly enough of Patrick and Dillion. They were so attentive and went above and beyond what was expected of them. I left my jacket on the back of my bar stool and they tracked us down and brought it to us as we were walking to the parking lot. We would definitely come back to Black Oak. We would make sure that we sat at the bar so we could hang out with Dillion and Patrick again!

We enjoyed lunch here on October 5. The restaurant was clean and had a warm inviting feel. We dined in the bar area and the bartender took excellent care of us and our needs. The manager was very attentive to her customers and staff. Food was fantastic and service was amazing. Woujd dine there again!

Really not impressed. I have been here 3 times and each time was uneventful. The food is incredibly average. The price for the average food is unusually high. I often wonder how this place even stays open. Save yourself the headache and eat someplace better.

We came here for dinner. The location was easy to find, Branson is not that big. Black Oak Grill is located in Branson Landing. We were greeted right away and led to a booth in the bar area. Our server was one of the bartenders and service was excellent. They claim to be a farm to table restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Loved the interior design. Lots of beautiful decor items and a cathedral wood ceiling in the center of the dining area. BJ started with a beer, I got a raspberry cosmopolitan. It was made with Gray Goose Vodka, Cointreau Liqueur, Chambord and white cranberry juice with an orange twist. I would rate it as the most incredible beverage ever. For my meal, I kept it simple. I got a cup of tomato basil soup and a Black Oak Salad. The salad consisted of mesculin greens, smoked almonds, Fuji apples and blue cheese crumbles. I requested that the maple pecan vinaigrette be served on the side in case I didn't like it. No chance of that, it was good enough to drink! BJ got the pot roast. It was incredible tender and full of flavor. It was served with braised veggies, a side of squash and garlic smashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the potatoes were barely lukewarm. Our server took the plate back to the kitchen to get them reheated. All this was served with a mini loaf of fresh bread and whipped butter. For dessert we shared a Kahlua Ding Dong. This dessert is amazing! This was one of our best meals while in Missouri. Highly recommend Black Oak Grill.

Wonderful atmosphere, great food, amazing server. I have two kids one that wanted salmon; and they were so accommodating. They do have a kids menu, but of course J wanted salmon. I had the meatloaf which was very filling and yummy. My husband had the ribs that were delicious. And he said the carrot cake which is make at a local place is to die for. I would defined recommend!

The salads in Branson are fresh and delicious, which is great since most of the other vegetables are deep fried. We loved the Black Oak salad, and were pleasantly surprised with the rest of the menu. Locally hand-crafted bread with sweet whipped butter, mesclun greens and meat from a local butcher. The meatloaf and the pot roast were okay, I wouldn't say the best ever. The mashed potatoes and gravy were rich and creamy and kind of dreamy. The service was excellent. We felt we were friends with everyone before our meal was over. We'll come back again for sure!

This is a four star restaurant that gets five stars because it is in Branson, the gastric nightmare city in Southern Missouri. I always struggle finding a good meal here. Black Oak Grill is located at the Belks end of the Branson Landing. (Park on the opposite side of the Landing from Bass Pro.) The atmosphere is nice but still casual with comfortable cushioned booths. The service was good with the team mentality so you aren't waiting for your server to be free to help you. The pleasant bartender, Dillion, made delicious margaritas with a fun upside down lime filled with a tequila shooter. The menu has salads, many sandwiches, and classic entrees. We ordered a pork chop and chicken fried chicken which were both moist and yummy. The portions were perfect, not the crazy sizes you see so much these days. I would say this is a good choice in Branson, solid food and service!

When we arrived the staff was extreme courteous, so I had high hopes, even though the restaurant was empty at 7pm. First our waiter never brought out a straw for our 3 year (minor offense), then they brought out "fresh" bread that I couldn't cut with the serrated steak knife, then we've waited over 30 minutes for 2 adult entrees & a kids meal - the people that came in after us have received their meal. I think I know why the restaurant was empty, now. Should've known!!! Skip this one.

We had reservations for Black Oak at 7 pm. We got in, seated, served, and out by 7:30 ~ no joke! The service was impeccable. We never waited for anyone's attention. I ate the pot roast and it was utterly fantastic. Just melted in your mouth good.

Great spot - our favorite in Branson. Good food, great atmosphere and attentive and good-humored employees, particularly behind the bar. Love that they offer some healthy menu options as well as some yummy comfort food, like meatloaf and pot roast. We try to visit Black Oak every time we're in Branson.

WOW. Went here expecting an "ok" experience and was super pleasantly surprised by getting one of the most amazing meals we've ever had in Branson! We didn't care for the bread that came but both of our meals were amazing. I had the grilled rosemary chicken (juicy and super flavorful!) and she had the bacon cheeseburger. I couldn't believe the prices were as reasonable as they were given the food we received! The ambience is great. The only thing I did not care for was that the little table where the hostess was to seat people was pushed so far up in the door that there was barely enough room to open the door and walk in without hitting the desk. There were other people already crowded inside so it made for an awkward entry. Overall, a GREAT experience and a place I would definitely visit again!

This is one of my favorite restaurants, and by far the best in Branson. We always make sure this is our first stop when visiting. The decor and atmosphere are very nice and even better in the summer when you sit outside, looking over the landing. As a starter, I highly recommend the spinach and cheese dip. I am not a fan of artichokes, so seeing a spinach/cheese dip without it was a nice change. And their homemade chips that are served with the dip are so much better than any chip you'll get elsewhere. The best entree that I have tried is the rosemary chicken. It is truly outstanding. It has a surprisingly perfect amount of honey mustard in it. I have never tried anything on the menu that I did not like, and I can be quite picky. Also the service is ALWAYS great. The servers are not fake and overly annoying, yet they manage to make sure we are always taken care of. I recommend going here at least once. It won't disappoint!

First off, Katie was an awesome server. We never tip over 20%, but today we did because we felt like the most important people here and we loved it. The pork chop is sweet and tender. The mashed potatoes were delicious and great zucchini! I highly recommend this restaurant on the waterfront!

Good food. Bad service. Both times we've been here it has taken nearly ten minutes before we are greeted by our server. Never given apology. If you have time to waste go ahead and give it a try.

Had I written a review after my first visit (when they first opened) I had probably given them 4 stars. After my 2nd visit recently, what a disappointment! The menu has totally changed and it looks like all the things I liked are gone....especially the great salad dressing they no longer offer. Small portions...terrible service! Sadly, there will not be a 3rd visit.

We eat here every time we are leaving big Cedar Lodge and always enjoy good service and great food. The staff is always very friendly and bathrooms are clean and we enjoy sitting outside looking over the river. My husband always has the pulled pork sandwich. I have a wonderful salad with Salmon. The selection of soups are always very good. Today he had potato soup which was very delicious. We will return next time we are down south in Missouri!

The Black Oak salad with chicken was amazing. This is not my first visit. Every visit is delightful. Reasonably priced. Fantastic service. Very creative American classic menu items. Great variety to choose from. Love the Kahlua Ding Dong!! Look forward to my next visit!

This place definitely exceeded expectation. The decor and food presentation definitely do not mirror the low price point. All their ingredients are brought in locally and everything, including the salad dressings, is made in-house. The flavor of the chicken and avocado club I had was great and paired very nicely with their fresh made tomato basil soup. Too bad I don't live here, otherwise I'd definitely be a regular.

Was looking for a light meal and this was the only place on a Sunday evening past 7pm that seeemed to offer such a thing with outside seating or seating in the lake view room. Nothing special, had a chicken caesar salad and the hubby had the salmon caesar which he said the salmon was not that great. Same with the chicken, not that amazing and I think they overdid it with the dressing as I did not feel too good after that meal I think the dressing was too rich that it slightly upset my stomach :( However, the service is very good and friendly. Deborah, our server, was very nice. Their bread was not tasty, it was too chewy and hard as though very stale and reheated multiple times. Overall, it was ok but probably wont be first choice

First of all not many guests versus others in the area, but they are at the end on the mall so throw that out. The sign outside says "handcrafted cocktails", not sure what this means as the barman had to search for a certain vodka only to find it in the well. Without getting into it there were other signals to get out of there, so I left. I'm not the complaining type but just had to post this. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere

I've eaten here several times, and thought the food and service was a solid 3-4. Today, however, my husband and I stopped in for a late lunch, and I can truly say, we would've had a better meal if we'd gone through MacDonald's drive-thru. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and fries. It arrived lukewarm, with shredded iceburg lettuce, a thin, barely-there tomato slice, and less than one slice of limp, precooked bacon. One bite, and I was positive it was a precooked frozen burger which had been barely warmed in the microwave. It tasted and had the texture of very processed and frozen meat, with a ton of salt and seasoning to mask the fact that it had no juice or freshness. it was 3 pm, it wasn't busy, but even if it had been, there's no excuse for this poor quality food. And to make matters worse, the waitress asked 3 times if everything was delicious. I saw no point in complaining, as I would've received the same food again, I'm sure. It was obvious from the looks of my plate that it wasn't delicious. My husband had chicken fried steak, which also tasted reheated. Stay away.

First time I have been to the Black Oak Grill and what a fun night!!! The food was fabulous, the service impeccable and the bartenders, Patrick & Dillon, were an absolute delight. The manager, Jolene, made a point to introduce herself and assure our experience was wonderful. I just can't say enough about this great place and look forward to returning!!!! Thanks so much.

Farm to table says it all. You know this places wants you to eat quality food. Plus they have a really good bloddy mary, which is a nice bonus. Everyone at the table was happy with what they had, we watched some rugby at the bar, made fun of each other for being terrible, and had a solid overall experience...I will eat here again! Oh and no smoking in the bar is nice, since your food wont taste like ash tray

Had dinner here with 3 other people and I loved the Chicken Fried Chicken! My husband loved the nachos, but I thought the chicken on those was tough. They would've been better if the chicken was shredded instead of cubed. Friend got the turkey burger but didn't like it, and another got the cheeseburger and did like it.

Beware the Caesar salad, probably the "fishiest" tasting I have ever had . I don't usually return what I order , but this was beyond edible. The rest of the meal was excellent and reasonably priced.

The grilled cheese and tomato soup was delicious and went perfectly with my Bloody Mary. Dirk was a great server.

I really enjoyed this place! We came to celebrate, and our server (one of a pair of twins, both of whom were highly entertaining!) was awesome. On top of everything, super fun, not a single problem. Can I just say FRIED GOAT CHEESE. If that isn't enough, the pot roast and the flank steak were also perfect. The pot roast was super tender, and the flank stank was a perfect medium rare. I wish this restaurant was where I lived! Highly recommended.

Avoid this place like the plague. Over priced burger with frozen fries, I am sure the price is because of the bread, but not worth it. Half a tennis ball sized tomato on the wife's salad, no person can eat that. Service was not good. Water ran out 3 times, 2 times before the meal arrived. Then 5 bites into the meal we are asked about dessert. A few more bites and we found the bill at our table. The manager didn't care at all, I mean after all they got the cover and that is all they care about. Just avoid it, at least if you have realistic expectations of what is good food and quality service is. Only saving quality is the food tasted good, just not worth the price and the service and manager's attitude ruined any positive comments I could make. I hate chains, but Famous Dave's a few doors down is a better choice.

We ate here on a Thursday night. We both had the tomato basil soup to start with-one word, amazing. We could tell it was fresh made and so good on a cold night. Then we had pork chop and ribs, both we're very good. Tanner was our waiter he was very good. We would recommend this to every one.

Little pricey, but good food. Rec: Spinach Dip. Would be glad to return.

Good burger for me and salad, but not enough food for some of my family for the price.

We stopped here based on a couple verbal recommendations from cashiers at The Landing. It was great. We tried the Pot Roast and the Chicken Parmesan. The pot roast had fantastic flavor, the mashed potatoes and veggies were also worth noting. The chicken was good but was kind of overshadowed by the pot roast. Found out they have only one other location...right in our backyard...Omaha. Can't wait to try them back home.

I was not impressed! My sandwich was good but the salads were nothing but lettuce and my children's fries had been re cooked they were hard as rocks! The service wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't give it another shot!

Restaurant offers seating with a water view, we opted to eat indoors and enjoy the air conditioning. We had a bit of a wait for the maitre de to show up and even when she did sow up she just stood there looking at us even though we were the only ones waiting to be seated. We asked the waitress a couple of questions about the menu and she appeared uncertain of her answers. When we received our food it was hot, well seasoned and flavorful and plentiful.

TERRIFIC POTROAST! Comes with tasty garlic mashed potatoes and zucchini done just right ( not usual moosh). And very friendly and attractive wait staff.

The Black Oak Grill has two locations, one in Branson and one in Omaha, NE. The menu ranged from grilled specialty burgers, chicken, salmon, meatloaf, chicken fried chicken, pot roast, and great looking salads. Our food was good and very hot when it arrived at our table. We were also impressed with how fast it came to our table. However, the chicken fingers were not what I expected. Next time, I think I will try a burger which looked juicy and delicious. I have lots of pictures of our food from Black Oak Grill on my blog at: recipesforourdailybread.… The Black Oak Grill is good choice to eat while on vacation in Branson, Missouri. It is located on the Branson Landing. The Black Oak Grill has a wonderful view of Lake Taneycomo. The Branson Landing is a large outdoor shopping mall located in downtown Branson on Lake Taneycomo. I have written many posts about what to do at the Branson Landing. I do not get paid by any company at the Branson Landing. I truly love Branson and enjoy blogging and adding reviews to YELP! Blessings, Diane Roark

Mild is the word that comes to mind when wanting to describe the food here. The little loaf of bread was awful, and I love bread, so that's saying something there. I didn't even want to finish the one little piece I had. We had the Spinach dip for the appetizer, and it was good, but I've had better. The Caesar salad was boring, although the dressing was pretty good. I had the Rosemary Chicken, and there was hardly any flavor to it at all. The mustardy sauce on top was unpleasant. I loved the Garlic mashed potatoes, though. My husband had the salmon, and it was completely devoid of seasoning. I really enjoyed my Coca Cola, and he really enjoyed his Sam Adams. I hate to give such a scathing review, but, when you spend that much money on dinner, and the best thing you had was your drink, that's just sad.

We would recommend that folks run, don't walk, to the Black Oak Grill. Manager Casey Wallace and his staff do an excellent job of making your experience at this oasis on the Branson Landing an enjoyable one. You can enjoy the view overlooking Lake Taneycomo while savoring anything from the wonderful menu being served by very capable and profession wait staff. Our server, Brent, was very helpful and introduced us to the White River Brewing Co's White River Wit, a delicious local craft beer. We returned several times to the Black Oak Grill bar during our stay in Branson to enjoy this Wit. We were served by an extremely informed and experienced bartender, Dillon, who served us cold beer and asked about our daily activities in and around Branson. Was it the food, service, beer or the staff that kept us returning to this wonderful find on the Branson Landing? It's hard to say but Dillon kept the Wit cold and we returned again, and again, and again to the Black Oak Grill. Thanks for the wonderful experience Casey, Brent and Dillon. We already miss yall!

Restaurant in nice ovation clean and well decorated. Nice feature to sit near windows overlooking water or outside on patio. We had onion rings for appetizer. Flavorful breaking. I had pot roast with mashed potatoes and veggies. Mashed potatoes and gravy was ver good. Roast beef while tender just did not have great flavor and almost seemed mushy. Iced tea and bread were great. Husband chicken fried chicken that was good but not great. Service was good but we were there early and place was not that busy.

Yum! We had the spinach dip, I had the pork chop and my husband had the country fried steak. Everything was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Absolutely delicious dinner.

First time here. Probably won't go back. Server, Estavez was fabulous. Food was mediocre. Bread , usually my favorite part of the meal, was terrible. Tasted like sawdust. Honey butter was good! Chicken Parmesan was ok. Chicken a bit overlooked and penne pasta cool. Meatloaf was bland. Mashed potatoes were very good. My daughter did enjoy her chicken fingers.

Very pricy for a burger and fries. My husband and I split a burger and each had a soft drink and it was right under $20. The burger was nothing special, just a burger.. The restaurant reminded me of a cafeteria when I walked in so I was not sure what to expect and the service was ok, nothing to brag on. i will not be back to this restaurant as I was not impressed.

We're foodies, so came in not expecting anything really special, and it was as expected. Wife had a nice hamburger and fries, no complaint (hard to screw that up). I had the chicken fried steak with smashed potatoes and vegetable medley. The steak and potatoes were good, with a creamy mushroom gravy. Not the best I ever had, but decent. I suspect the vegetable medley was frozen, and they didn't microwave it sufficiently because it was stone cold when the plate arrived. These days, restaurants can buy entire meals frozen from the food brokers, allowing them to offer dishes that their grill cook isn't capable of making. I suspect that may have been the case with the chicken fried steak dish. In any case, you could get the same level of food (possibly better) at a Cracker Barrel for a bit less $$. But hey, the place was convenient while we were at the Branson Landing. The folks giving this 5 stars are either employed by the restaurant or seriously deficient in knowledge of food and good cooking. Its ok, but certainly not stellar and DEFINITELY not amazing. Service was also ok, but not particularly noteworthy. If this is the same restaurant group as Cantina Laredo, I'm not surprised. They promote their offering as gourmet Mexican food - which it most certainly is not. Slightly overpriced and fairly typical good mexican cooking. Lets leave the hype out and be realistic about these places. They're decent food, at price points that are a little high for what they deliver.

Good atmosphere. Good service. Clean bathrooms. Food was ok. Was disappointed to see the restaurant touting local ingredients on the menu and on a board outside when it really isn't true. Just because you buy your bread from within 60 miles and you used to get cuts of meat from a local grocery store (they don't do that anymore), by no means should you be using the term "local." Even the server was misinformed "yeah, we make our own salad dressings for the Classic Caesar and Black Oak Salads... Please stop giving people the wrong impression just to make an extra buck and buy from an actual farmer that grows great food. My salad would have tasted a whole lot better.

A unique experience at this place. On Jan 12, 2013 we went to this restaurant with 10 of us. The restaurant was not busy at 6:30, I would guess about 40% occupancy. The service was slow, very slow. After about 30 minutes the waiter had not returned to take our food order. I found the manager and politely asked if he could have someone step up the service for our group. The manager immediately stopped what he was doing, came to our table, and took our order. Once the order was taken our server returned to our table and took drink orders and provided water. The food arrived in a timely manner. The orders were a little messed up but, not in a bad way. As an example: I asked to replace the mashed potatoes with broccoli. What I received was the mashed potatoes and broccoli. Service continued to be excellent at this point. After the initial very poor service we experienced excellent service. At the end of the dinner the manager came to our table and told us all of the meals and drinks were on him. We did not pay a dime for our meal or drinks. The restaurant easily comped $400.00 to $500.00. The Manager stated the service in the beginning was poor and that was not their standard. He continued by stating his restaurant strives to provide the very best service. We cannot believe they comped the whole meal. Amazing. All of us did not expect the meal to be comped but, the manager stood by his company's standards. Made a huge statement to us. This place means business when it comes to the standards they want to provide. Highly recommend this restaurant when you come to the Branson Landing!

This is a new restaurant on the landing. It is in the same group as Cantina Laredo. I have eaten at Black Oak three times. The best meatloaf I have ever had, the best trout I've ever had and very good chicken Parmesan. The ambience is casual and the service is wonderful. Like Cantina Laredo this place is a winner in all ways.

We were pleased! We both ordered burgers and fries. Our fries were cold, like the other reviews, however, they were prompt and apologetic about getting us new ones. Actually, the table next to us had the same issue. The replacement fries were great. Service was fabulous and the manager even came over to apologize. Would definitely return. There are SOME overpriced entrees but it's definitely reasonable for others.

Found this place on Friday as we were walking through the Landing. It is very nicely done, with great atmosphere, great servers and great food. We will be going back on this trip to try another meal. It is a must 'eat at' place when in Branson.

Excellent ...I have been there 5 or 6 times, always good service, good food, excellent atmosphere. Don't by pass this restaurant for the over rated ones in the same area. You won't be disappointed.
