The Tea Room is tucked in the back of a cute little gift shop in a strip mall at Clayton Road and Kehrs Mill, right next door to Xenon. The shop used to be known as Dreamhouse Miniatures, and was focused on doll houses and accessories, but the focus has changed to jewelry, clothing, and gifts, and the tea room has greatly expanded. The menu is small, but it is all delicious food. They have a selection of salads, sandwiches, soups, and quiches. I always order the fruited chicken salad on a croissant with the lobster bisque. The lobster bisque is perfect, with some decent chunks of lobster, and it never tastes "fishy." All sandwiches are served with your choice of soup or a small sunflower salad, which my dining companions reassure me is delicious. We did discover, upon taking my young niece recently, that you can also opt to have chips and grapes as your sandwich side. Since there's no children's menu, this was a nice option to please my niece. The food is pretty amazing, but save room for dessert! Your waitress will bring the dessert tray by, and it is full of temptations that taste just as wonderful as they look. The coconut cream pie is always delicious. I tried a caramel gooey butter cake recently that was heavenly. The dessert menu changes frequently, but it is always full of delicious, homemade treats. The service is wonderful here, although I have to warn that they sometimes have lunch time fashion shows in the Tea Room, which are fun and enjoyable, but they also mean a bigger crowd. The Tea Room is the perfect place for lunch with the ladies, and you can even browse the nice shop after you eat, or while you eat, since all the decorations in the Tea Room are displayed with price tags. I highly recommend trying on a pair of the Lindsay Phillips shoes after lunch- the kitten heels feel like you're not even wearing heels!
