Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
So, I have been frequenting this establishment ever since I was very young and I have not yet written a review. So someone please slap me since I have been forgetting my Yelp elite responsibilities. Anyhow, this place tends to be a hit and a miss establishment. For the most part, you can expect a decent customer service experience and a decent product. However, there were times that I have had some pretty bad experiences here, especially due to poor service. Recently, I stopped by to do a car pickup and the time was way beyond the expected delivery and I sat there for at least 20 minutes. We also ordered full salads that came back as half salads, which we paid full price. I might be coming back, but only during special times, like birthdays or Veterans day. (This place has a special parking spot for veterans and they give away free food.)

Average pub food, nothing spectacular. Used to be better. Waiters work their ass off and deserves a good tip. The bar business is brisk and the beer old enough I guess the guys at the top figure it's good enough and are taking huge stock options at the expense of the share holders again. To summarize, beats a sharp stick.

Seriously, who hasn't been to Applebee's at some point in their life? It's been years since I've stepped inside one of their locations... until this past week. I was outnumbered 3 to 1 by coworkers on where to go for lunch so I reluctantly caved. I thought with some of the menu changes that have occurred since my last visit many moons ago, I might actually enjoy it a bit more. I was wrong. One thing they do have going for them is a large menu with lots of variety. It's a good casual spot for families to go... if they don't mind subpar food. Included in that variety are "healthy" menu options with entrees 550 calories or less and dishes that are weight watcher's approved. Since I'm currently watching my calorie intake, the low-cal dishes caught my eye. I went with salmon and veggies. The piece of salmon was small, but cooked surprisingly well. The peas and potatoes that came along side were as bland as bland can possibly be. There was no seasoning on them whatsoever besides the bit of salt I added. This entree was $12.99, and after my ice tea, tax, and tip were included, I somehow spent $20... on lunch... at Applebee's. I can't speak for my coworkers on what they thought of their food selections. However, no one mentioned how great their steak, burger, or southwest chicken wrap tasted, so I'm guessing they all wished they had listened to me and went elsewhere. ;-) At least our waitress was really sweet and attentive, and sent us on our way with to-go cups of fresh ice tea.

Giving 2 stars because the service was great, and I appreciated the very nice server. I ordered the Thai Shrimp salad which was very good and the dressing too. along with the 4-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders, which was actually cold. I didn't say anything but I was not sure why when I tried this at another location it was delicious and here it was truly lackluster. Overall just a basic meal and I guess with a chain restaurant you get this from time to time. but again, great service which counts too.

First I must start by saying that I usually do not frequent chain restaurants. The food is usually decent and there is never much that is anything spectacular...that being said, Saturday, the service I had was more then exceptional which compelled me to post. Savannah was my server. At first she seemed almost overly polite but she was knowledgeable to detail about the menu, was incredibly helpful, and when a small problem arose this girl went far beyond her duty to better serve me and my children. Food was decent but the service was outstanding.

Food is just ok - but after all it is Applebee's so microwaved meals are what you should expect. The servers are good. My favorite is the chicken fajita roll up.

What the hell do they do to their steaks at this location! When they brought it out it was almost white. For a second I thought they brought me a price of chicken at first. The steak was sub par and the flavor was off a bit in an odd way I can't really even describe wouldn't finish eating it. The sides where good though and the waitress was very nice. I would recommend just going to the steak place across street for steak. The only reason I went here was it was late at night so the steakhouse was closed

I was mad that they took away the smothered chicken off the menu. That dish was soooo good! So, instead I got my usual Weight Watcher's Italian Herb Chicken. The portion was smaller than I usually get, & oddly enough it came with a slice of lemon! Right after eating at this place, my GI tract didn't seem to agree with this place. Usually, I don't have problems eating here but maybe it's this particular location that doesn't agree with me. The service was good, but the food was so-so.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
