Good food, great drinks, attentive service. Frequently packed in the bar area with overly friendly locals and travelers. If I could give it 4.5 I would!

This is a chain restaurant similar to Applebee's, etc. I've eaten here twice and have had very good meals both times. The Buffalo Chicken Salad was the best I've had with a good size portion. The Italian Nachos appetizer was also very good. They had a good selection of beers to choose from and many TVs in the bar side.

They sat us right away. The place is clean. The waiter was friendly. Started off with appetizer combo with the typical combo of cheesesticks, chicken fingers, and potato skins, all were good but the skins were better than normal. Im not big on fries but these guys make great ones. The veggies were pulled from local farms with mostly green beans which is my only complaint. The food is similar to TGIF but a better value. Bathroom was immaculate. 5 stars.

I've never eaten at a Ground Round before. I found it similar to your Applebees, TGI Fridays or Chilis, etc. Service was fine. We ordered cheeseburgers/wings and everybody's food came out hot and delicious. Plenty of food too - we were all stuffed. We'll definitely eat here again if we find ourselves in Worthington.

I chose to eat here due to the restaurant's proximity to my hotel. My expectations were low...and boy was I surprised. As I was dining alone, I chose to eat at the bar. I was promptly greeted and offered my drink of choice--which was made with an honest pour. I ordered a steak. It arrived exactly medium rare, as ordered, along with a big baked potato and perfectly cooked (al-dente), fresh (not canned) vegetables and a piece of Texas toast. This wasn't Murray's, mind you, but my steak was pretty damn good. Bartenders were friendly and knew their business. I'll eat here again.

Food was good. Service was good. Menu has a good variety. Bar side has free popcorn. Nice outdoor eating area when the weather's nice. Nice casual atmosphere. This is one of the better places to eat in Worthington. I would definitely come back and eat here.

They have a good variety of items on the menu and the food, especially appetizers, is pretty tasty. We liked their onion ring tower (hot, crispy with sweet juicy onion ring), but the burgers, taco salad and grilled salmon were average. Our server had a good sense of humor and was attentive. The beer selection is better than most other local places.

I was surprised that this is really a decent restaurant. We exited the interstate in search of a hotel and a late meal and we stumbled onto the Ground Round. I had the Alaskan Salmon burger with mango Salsa on Ciabatta roll - it was great. My wife had the Chicken, Walnut, Cranberry salad and she was also happy. The late evening crowd was very casual and young, but there were a few families there. The place was loud. We ate in the dining room which was only a little quieter than the bar.

If I could give negative stars to this restaurant I would. Literally the worst and I mean WORST customer service I have ever seen at a restaurant. Am I being too hard since I'm used to dining in LA and have come to a certain expectation of what treatment of patrons should be like? No, and I'll tell you why. Whether you're at a fine dining establishment in LA or NY or a small town chain in MN you should never and I mean never treat your patrons like lepers you would rather do without. Here's the low down (CAUTION: Its long so if you wish to stop reading here I understand) As I've mentioned in previous reviews I'm on tour with a dance company this summer. Our latest stop was in Worthington, MN. After a long 12 hour day of instructing classes our faculty needs to eat. (And if you're me, you need to drink!) We asked the front desk receptionist at our hotel our options and I kid you not she said "The Boondocks, Ground Round, Perkins, or this restaurant connected to the gas station" I really wish I was exaggerating. So our clear choice is the Ground Round, which essentially is a run down, tore up version of TGIF or Applebees. Upon arrival we were seated in a booth much too small for a party of 6 and moved to the corner of the bar where several high tops were connected to accommodate us. Everything starts out smooth. Our server PS deserves none of this rant was a lovely enough person. Drink orders in, food orders in life is good. Out of nowhere a bartender comes up behind us and without asking closes the blinds and leaving us in a dark cave like setting with no overhead lighting or candles/lights on the table. My boss stands up and reopens the blinds. 2 minutes later another bartender walks over to our table, stares us in the eyes, smirks, slams the blinds closed and walks away as we're asking her to come back and explain why she did that. My boss opens the blinds again and she comes back to close them AGAIN! At this point he blocks her and asks for the manager. The manager comes over like he's King Midas and before any of us can speak he says "Come on you guys, how immature are you? These blinds are being closed now" And closes the blinds. At this point my boss has not yet lost his cool and explains to the manager its dark and we don't like to eat in the dark, upon which for the first time the manager says well its leaving a glare on a customer across the way. Uhhhh first time this has been brought to our attention. At this point him and my boss go off into words with each other. And in all honesty my boss did lose his patience and start cursing. The manager seemed to find joy in this and kept prodding and pushing his buttons saying things like "We don't need your money" and "We don't need your kind in this restaurant" To this my boss took offense as he is black, and felt this was a racial comment. Whether it was or not I'm not into accusations. At this point I can't take it anymore and I say to the manager that he is the rudest manager I've ever come into contact with and he either needs to walk away and cool off or close our tab now so we can leave. To this he replied "Young lady, I just want to ask you if you're proud of who you are. In 9 years I've never had anyone complain if I want to shut my blinds. You must be so proud of myself" To which I replied uh that statement makes no sense you sound like an ignorant idiot. Long story short my boss goes to cool off, we have no choice but to stay and eat, as apparently all restaurants close in Worthington at 9pm on a Saturday and we have a full day of dance the next day. The manager never came back to apologize for his absolutely asinine behavior. Ground Round, just because you are the only option in the area does not give you the right to be awful to your patrons. Your food is mediocre at best. And to the manager and Bar Staff. Thanks for accusing me of being immature, I'm pretty sure you displayed your maturity level quite clearly. If I ever go back to Worthington it looks like Perkins or the Boondocks it is!

The employees were very polite and prompt. However, the food was not very good. I had linguini and meatballs. Although the meatballs were quite tasty, I couldn't eat the linguini. The next time I stop here, I'll go to one of the fast food joints surrounding it.
