Ordered a hand roll, sushi roll, soft shell crab and wontons to go. Bartender said it would take 7 minutes. No idea why he said 7 minutes exactly but whatever. Watched a woman come in to pick up take out and walk out only to come back in and say she ordered a couple rolls with no avocado. I read her ticket order and I specifically saw "no avocado." She reminded them she was allergic to avocado. The only thing the bartender does is apologizes and makes her wait another 10 minutes. Okay, that's fine. 15 minutes later still no food, bartender still had the nerve to ask if we wanted another beer. Strike 2. Finally got our take out order and left. Only to get home and find we paid way too much for practically nothing. $5 for wontons $9 for soft shell crab $6.75 for spicy tuna hand roll and $7 for a philli roll. Bad service, mediocre food, and a bad reputation.

I have always liked this place but today my girlfriend and i were totally grossed out! The place was filthy and the sushi was not that good. We both said we would never go back!

Super super sushi - had the California, spicy Tuna and a crunchy - all were fabulous! Happy hour specials make it even better!

  • Kelly R.

Sushi is great and it's fresh! The rolls Are done nicely and don't fall apart. The service by the sushi chefs is less than customer friendly. They are almost ride and more interested in what's on TV. It's irritating. Good happy hour though!

Decent food. Service is hit or miss. Been here multiple times and I've never received my order correctly. There's always something missing or something missed. Only worth it during happy hour.

  • Uche M.

I had the crunchy roll (from the happy hour menu) and it was really good. I also had the yellowtail which I didn't really care for but my only issue with the crunchy roll is that the tempura shrimp wasn't all that crunchy. I expected it to be quite warm and crunchy. In any case, I enjoyed my meal and would go back soon.

I've had sushi rolls here before and the were fine. Today, I tried their Tendon. This usually is tempura vegies and shrimp over a bed of rice on top of it all is poured this really nummy sauce. At sushi Tango, you get the tempura and rice but no sauce. The whole point of this dish is the sauce. That's what differentiates one place from another. It was fine but with no sauce it was very boring. I can forgive that they can't pronounce Tendon appropriately. I can't forgive no sauce. When I asked, they didn't even know what I was talking about.

If you love Sushi then you need to Tango on over to this place! I've been to the Mpls location but attended the Woodbury location on this night. A girlfriend and I were looking for something girly but with a little livelihood. There was no wait, which I almost would have expected (food is amazing) but who cares, it was the perfect type of busy for a Saturday. To start off our evening, we ordered some fried wontons which were fried to perfection along with some drinks. They have a nice alcohol selection but a pretty generic list of martini's. My advice is to stick to the sake! We moved onto a few sushi rolls for dinner, spicy tuna and dragon roll. I really enjoyed both but my girlfriend wasn't a huge fan of the spicy tuna--there was just something about it that was unappealing. I would have loved to have given this place 5 stars but they need to remodel their location. A lot of paint on their walls was chipping which made the decor look sorta terrible. A nice makeover will make this restaurant a lot more appealing to guests, I'm sure of it!

I should have listened to the reviews!! HORRIBLE service! We were seated immediately with menu's in hand (ONLY REASON FOR THE ONE STAR). And that was the end of the great service. Never got water, nor did anyone seek to see if we were ready to order. We even did the "maybe if we put our menu's down" they'll know we're ready to order. I had to flag a waitress down to take our order. It has been 20 mins since we walked in. We should have had our orders placed!! AND they were not busy as we purposely chose to go during an off-peak time (not during happy hour)! I was annoyed by this time. There was one waitress in particular, THE VERY THIN ONE! She had the audacity to roll her eyes when I flagged another waitress down to take our order. That goes for the service... Quality of sushi, the one star for trying. The rolls broke apart as we picked it up with our chopsticks. My son ended up pouring soy sauce over his crunchy roll on his plate and used his spoon. HOW SAD is that??? EXPENSIVE for horrible service and mediocre sushi. I'd have to say, Wholefoods and kawalski sushi is better in price and quality.

Good for happy hour, but I would never pay full price at this place. It is mediocre quality and just doesn't have the same freshness you would expect.

I am here in town for work and wanted my sushi fix, not a bad little place, a bit pricey for lunch, but service was great and might come back again.

The sushi is par over here, nothing more, nothing less. The customer service is somewhat lacking. This Sushi Tango is nothing like the one in Uptown. It surprises me that they are owned by the same franchise, its a night and day difference between the two. The waiter just was not as attentive as a waiter should be. I only came here once with my wife and cousin and will not come back anytime soon unless this is the only sushi place open in the twin cities and I have an unsatisfiable craving for sushi.

  • Ong Y.

Food is good. I'd suggest the Crunchy roll. Service is mediocre. Its a hit or miss if you'll get friendly service. The waitresses/waiters are not very personable. If the night gets busy expect no smiles at all.

  • Vee V.

One of my favorite sushi places on that side of town. Staff is friendly. Food is always great, with awesome happy hour - even on weekends. Can't go wrong with the crunchy roll, or a Bloody Mary made with sake (my fav).

Purchased a take out lunch today from the menu. I selected the Sushi Lunch for $14 and added an additional Dynamite roll and spent a total of $22 for lunch. When I got to my desk the nigiri and the maki looked good for presentation and tasted okay... I have he'd better and what has stated more fresh in the past from previous restaurants. My bigger concern was the cleanliness of the establishment after lunch. I was there at 2:00 and the tables, floors, and bar were still quite dirty and the team seemed a bit overwhelmed/understaffed. I will possibly go back again in the future.

I ate at Sushi Tango on a Friday night a few weeks ago and it was amazing! My friend and I were looking for great sushi and a nice place to chat and catch up. This place was perfect. Everything from the service to the food were top notch. I know I could have gone to a pricier place for sushi but for what I can afford, this place fits the bill. Our server made sure we had everything we needed and kept coming back to be sure we had enough drinks. We arrived towards the end of the first Happy Hour, and through most of the second! Try the King Tut roll!

Garbage. We had to go to Wendy's for bacon burgers afterwards. I was excited for some happy hour sushi, but this was not worth the wait. Plus, I ate the worse sushi roll of my entire life, I wish I could take it back. Maybe I just went on the wrong day. It was Wednesday at 9pm, just when HH started, and they have $1 oyster specials on this night. The place was completely packed. There were spaces where they could have placed tables, but instead it was empty. Get more tables sushi tango people. The floors were soooo sticky. I felt grossed out whenever I moved. The sounds it makes and the feeling of getting stuck to the damn floor was disgusting. When we were finally seated the server took forever to come by. I'm sure the crabbiness I felt from hunger made this experience even worse. We had everything picked out by the time we sat since we had time to look. We watched two other tables, also with two guests, that sat after us get all of their dishes and finish eating before we got all of ours. We only got beef tataki, 8 oysters, and 3 rolls that came with 4 pieces each. The tables next to us had like 8 courses!! The oysters were tiny and drenched in ponzu. The beef tataki I did like. But wtf on the happy hour rolls. 4 pieces per sushi roll, most places you get the full roll with happy hour prices. I wasn't expecting the roll to be reduced too. That was shit, and the sushi rolls were not good. We had the spicy tuna, yellowtail, and dynamite roll. The pieces were all cut in different sizes. Flavorless on the tuna and yellowtail. Omg on the dynamite roll, this is the nastiest shit ever. They dunked it in some sort of fermented chili paste thing. It overwhelmed the roll and left a shit taste. I never ate shit before, but I'm positive this is what it would taste like. Never coming back.

Sushi Tango is great - happy hour timing and menu are spot on. Try the philly & spicy tuna ! Oysters are only a buck each on Sunday's !! Two locations...

Expensive but mediocre quality. We came one afternoon for early dinner since I was craving sushi. I was glad that the menu was extensive and had a very good selection. We ordered a bunch of stuff and the quality was just very lacking. Started with the Tako salad $10, it was swimming in a pool of spicy mayo, couldn't even taste the octopus, or the lettuce. Next came the uni sushi $8, and the uni was just not very fresh. Then we had the sashimi lunch special $14 and this was a lot better. It came with a few pieces of tuna, albacore, bass and several pieces of my favorite white tuna. The tuna was kinda stiff, but the other 3 were pretty good. Then we got the rainbow roll $15, which was ok. Service was nice and friendly, although the food took awhile to come out. $70 and I wasn't even full. I was also charged $2 for a hot tea. The bathrooms are clean and parking is super easy. I would not recommend this place based on the quality for the food and the high prices.

I liked the looks of this place, it's nicely decorated in that snazzy, neo-sushi kind of way. We were a larger group and were able to make reservations. The table was ready for us when we got there, always a plus. Our server was friendly and easily handled our group. I never wanted for anything. The food was good, not great or earth shattering, but good. The standouts were the salads. I really enjoyed the spicy cucumber salad. The rolls were okay. They had a big selection of the neo-sushi that is really popular these days...ya know...the whole shrimp, crab, maybe something raw, cream cheese, then tempura covered in a spicy mayonnaise dressing & roe kind of deal with a clever name. I liked that they didn't over-sauce everything, which has been something I've noticed happening more and more at sushi restaurants of this type. They had some fun desserts. They have a full bar. The prices are pretty steep, like whoah...some of those rolls were eye-poppingly priced. Overall, if you want some decent, though not stellar, sushi and have a big wad of dough you want to blow quickly, this is a good place.

Excellent sushi! Long wait. With faster service the rating would surely go up. 50+ minutes to get 2 orders of takeout is taxing my mellow patience. !!!! It's packed but not that bad.

  • Bao Y.

I love sushi tango, nice place to come and have a few drinks or laughs with friends. Come during happy hour though as prices can quickly add up. Sometimes when it is busy do expect a wait but for the most part the staff are friendly and accommodating even when the crowd I go with is a little rowdy. Sorry... The food is delicious though, love the oysters, tuna tataki, and seafood larb. So much flavor, YUM. Crunchy roll, salmon skin and dynamite are my three favorite rolls and the soft shell crab is so delicious it's almost too good to share. One complaint, like most Asian restaruants, the bathroom is disgusting, the floors are sticky and I recommend simply ripping it out and redoing the whole thing.

Good sushi. Great service. From Madison area so prices a bit high for smaller portions. I usually get 8 pieces per roll vs 4-6 here.

So I was in MN for work and I was told of this sushi place. I didn't really expect much, just wanted some decent sushi. So I went and started off with a sake. 10 bucks for a glass... A lil pricey. Then ordered one of their specialty rolls (the scorpion) and their dinner portion of sashimi. The scorpion was 18 bucks and I wasn't quite sure why. Nothing special but maybe it was the soft shell crab. The sashimi was okay. Typical fishes salmon tuna halibut octopus and one more. Overall this place was okay. As everyone says very pricey for the poduct they create. But I guess you can't be picky when Minnesota.

Ok went there tonight and ok hi I LOVE this place. The sushi guys were extra nice and friendly as was the waitress. The sushi is the BEST i've had in the twin cities for a very reasonable price. Decor is dark but like who cares anyway if its good food and they are friendly. Compared to Giapponese which is down the way (i wrote a crabby review about them a few weeks ago - these guys shine. I haven't taken my family there...but will do. yum....

This place is awesome! I loved the atmosphere and the service was great. I myself am not a big fan of fish (awkward right?) but they have lots of veggie options. I tried the Rainbow and it was delicious. I would definitely go back.

After enduring nearly the entire summer without sushi, it was finally time to venture around the Twin Cities to discover a new spot. My love of sushi spawned while I lived in Chicago, where the neighborhoods are brimming with restaurateurs hoping to attact patrons with traditional sushi fare and decor. Sadly, in the TC, sushi seems to have been embraced largely by the same crowds that dismiss the charm of family ownership in favor of flashy lounge decor and trendy menu items. Sushi Tango fits in with all the other tacky chains attempting to capture a cultural dining experience and sprinkle it throughout the metro area. While the flavors and service were nothing to complain about, the restaurant as a whole was bland and uninviting. I give Sushi Tango 2.5 stars for prompt service and tasty food, but I'm holding out hope for a more charming sushi spot to get my next sushi fix.

I've been coming here since it has opened. Love the hospitality. Tonight we had to wait maybe 10 minutes fora table and they made up for it when they didn't even need to by accommodating or seat preference and to top it off soon delicious green tea ice cream on the house! Love this place

I would have gave it a 5 star rating if they improve their customer service. Be willing ot spend money if you are here. there is no dress code but if you don't look like someone who is willing to pay big bucks, they don't serve you well (this is true in most cases). I walked in here with a baseball cap and a pair of jeans like an average Joe. They didn't seat me and when I got food, they never attend to me. Enough talk. Sushi is great and pricy! all the other average joe sushi items on the menu, I don't care for, they were all sub par and comparable to any buffet grade sushi. THE REAL DEAL: I recommend you spend the big bucks and buy what is created by the restaurant, don't buy sushi you can get from cub here. Scorpion Roll: Best creation in town! Fresh ingredients and softshell crab! extremely delicious!! Centipede Roll: Very unique combination of ingredients. Strawberries and Unagi! Skepticall but harmonized very well together! A MUST HAVE if you are here. Oyster Shots: EAT IT!! SEAFOOD LARB: a dish of sliced octopus, calimari, salmon and other fish, prepped in a southeast asian salad, hint of lime garnished with green onions, cilantro and spices!!! IF YOU DON"T ORDER THIS, THEN YOU MADE A MISTAKE COMING HERE. Don't miss out on this great dish. Overall food was great but the service sucks! maybe they should replace their wait staff with ipads since it almost feels like they weren't even there. My added value to the tip I gave the wait staff: serve well or don't serve at all. Every diner is not created equally, but it does not mean we are in lacking of a generous wallet.

Worst service ever and the prices are ridiculously high. I was already warned about the bad service, but I went anyways because the wife was desperately craving sushi. We sat down after the door guy cleared some tables because they don't clear tables right away after customers leave. We waited about 10 minutes until they brought out some glasses for the water, then 5 minutes later the water finally came out and I put in a small drink order, ONE freakin' beer. It must have taken another 10 minutes to get my beer. The waitress dropped off my beer and we didn't see her again until my wife went to go flag her down so we can put in our order. We were with another couple. They ordered some stir fry and tempura. We ordered a couple sushi rolls. Well, guess what? I wasn't surprised when my sushi came out after my buddy got his stir fry. I mean, he was practically done by the time my 2 sushi rolls came out. At the time, the place wasn't even busy. I expected all the food to come out at once like other restaurants. Also, it was freakin' cold inside the whole time we were there. I don't think they turn the heat on at all and expected the place to just warm itself up with body heat and/or the heat coming out of the kitchen. So when I looked at my bill at the end of the day, it came out to be $80 (tip included). I did not want to tip at all. I will never ever ever go to Sushi Tango again. Total time spent at Sushi Tango: 1.5 hours for a couple of rolls, tempura, and stir fry. The good news: Osaka will be opening up right next to Sushi Tango. That will probably put them out of business. Osaka has better service, better food, and less expensive. I can't wait.

We usually come to this place as it is closer to StP and free parking. Although is it pretty tight when busy, the food always makes up for our visit. I've not been to another sushi restaurant that's been as delicious as Sushi Tango. When it's busy, it does take a while, but I feel that the wait is worth it to me.

I've been a fan of the Sushi Tango in Uptown since I was in my early twenties, taking advantage of the awesome happy hour. I didn't even know that they had a Woodbury location until recently. We live almost exactly in the middle of the two Sushi Tango locations, but thought Woodbury would be faster with traffic on a weeknight. The Woodbury location looks pretty similar to Uptown, but it's in a strip mall. The food was just as good, and the happy hour special is just as good as I remember. We ordered spring rolls, gyoza and a few different rolls. Everything was excellent! Glad to see that Woodbury has some good sushi!

I ordered take out for dinner. I asked the chef to give me $50 worth of rolls and shashimi. The sushi was very average and the stuff that you can pick at Kowalski's down the road was comparable. I probably won't be going back to this location again but if I do I will definitely choose what I want...don't want to get stuck eating california rolls again.

Sushi Tango is another very Americanized, modern sushi places that seem to be everywhere these days. There are couple different locations, but the food is pretty much the same. I cant say I get too excited about Sushi Tango--living in Japan has made me picky about sushi places. I think 2.5 stars would be the most appropriate rating since I think it's average-below average for what you find here. The fact that they have multiple locations is nice if you are a fan of this place. The Woodbury restaurant is located somewhat out of the way if you are located in the cities, but nice for those who live on that side of St. Paul. Parking is no problem as they have a free lot, unlike Uptown which can be a pain in the rear end. There really isnt anything fantastic or terrible about the interior/exterior of the restaurant, although I really find there sign/logo to be annoying for some reason (sorry, but I had to mention this or it would drive me bonkers). The food is average. Id never turn down a platter of sushi, but Im extremely picky. There are very few places in the Midwest that I can honestly say serve really good sushi & sashimi. Most of what you find these days is this bizarre, Americanized catepillar looking stuff which doesnt appeal to me at all. Sushi shouldnt be covered in sauces and whatnot--it should be simple. But even the nigiri/sashimi here is just ok. It's not bad, but not great either. My recommendations for local sushi would be Sakana and Origami, but if you live in the Woodbury area and can take advantage of any discounts or specials, then it's not a terrible option. Pros: Easy parking, fairly affordable for sushi depending what you get, multiple locations Cons: Average sushi/sashimi, dont expect an "authentic" Japanese menu--it's more of a fusion thing, Woodbury is a bit far for city dwellers

Since there's a shortage of good sushi restaurants on the East side I've been trying to make myself like Sushi Tango more than I normally would. That said, I think I've finally reached the point that I'm not going to travel any further East than Fuji Ya or Sakura for my sushi fixes on this side of town... Don't get me wrong, a few items here are pretty good, including the unagi, mutsu, sake and spider roll, but everything else I've tried has been pretty disappointing or over-priced compared to other sushi places in the Cities. The maki is inconsistently rolled, the cooked sushi is not good at all (save for the aforementioned unagi) and the ginger and 'wasabi' have never been fresh. So even though it's cool they have somewhat of a pan-Asian non-sushi menu, this is pretty much just another cookie cutter sushi place pretending to be more upscale than it is - unfortunately, that's probably perfect for this area.

Their customer service sucks. We walked in and they didn't even greet us or anything it took them like five minutes to sit us down. Everyone always talk about how nice Sushi Tango is but in reality the place is so small. It is not as big as Akita or Kyoto. Our waitress seems like she had a bad day or something. But the food was decent, I loved their cucumber papaya salad! Their sushi was alright. The part that ruined my time there was when the waitress messed up on my order of the Udon teriyaki soup. I repeated myself three times to her that I wanted the Udon terayaki soup but she gave me the Ramen teriyaki soup. She did not apologize for her mistake, this other Waiter came to apologize for her. Awkward right because she was still serving us after the mistake. Therefore I am not coming here for a while.

For Woodbury location. Bloody Mary on HH is just $3 and decent. Wish they had martinis on HH. Rail drinks are $3. Beer is just $1-$2 off depending on size. Glass of Coastal Vines wine is $3. Apps run $3 (edamame) to $7 (tuna tataki). Sushi runs $3 (salmon skin) to $10 (crunchy roll). Most rolls are $5. HH sashimi is $8.95 (6pcs). Just one TV, although good sized, tuned to soccer and not ESPN.

I love Sushi Tango! I've been coming here with my husband (the two locations) for the last 7-8 years, he's been going much longer than that. We were here on Saturday (2/18) and couldn't have had a more awesome time in every way. Honestly, the service is better at this location, I have found. The ONLY time we've had terrible service was at the Uptown location and it was a night that Tengo wasn't there. The guys behind the sushi counter couldn't be sweeter, more fun or more generous. The fish here has always been super fresh and delicious. To be honest, I've never ordered from the kitchen, and so I can't comment on the hot foods. Why eat anything other than sushi when it's available?! Get a Suzie Maki roll, Tango Maki roll and a Dynamite roll - extra, extra spicy. Oh, and the toro (gotta have it sashimi!) is always so fresh and buttery and amazing. Nice, thick, generous sashimi portions. I wish I could eat here every day, but I would go broke!

Sushi! Sushi! Sushi! I absolutely love Sushi Tango. I have been frequenting this particular location since it opened as it is close to where I live. Even though I prefer the Uptown location, Woodbury is just so close :) Their happy hour is great! They have specials on appetizers, rolls, nigiri, sashimi, wine, beer, & rail drinks. Happy hour is ALL DAY MONDAY & weekdays from 2pm-6pm & 9pm-11pm. The sushi is always good & the menu just recently expanded. It's pretty extensive. The best part is, they also have the Uptown menu, so if there is something you have had there that you don't see on the menu @ Woodbury, they will make it for you! Awesome!!!! Best on the menu: the gyoza is to die for, the seaweed salad is the perfect size w/ just the right amount of dressing & sesame seeds, & the Spicy Tako (octopus) & the Hot Zone (spicy tuna & white tuna) are fabulous! I love when Susan is working. She is truly the best server/bartender they have on staff & is always so warm & welcoming. Definitely worth a try! :)

So I was visiting family over the weekend and had heard from several sources that this is the place they frequent for their sushi fix. They mentioned that there was a newly renovated downtown Minneapolis location also, but we were in the area and tried the suburban locale. The restaurant itself was very nice, dimly lit and perfect for an early evening dinner or hanging out before a night out on the town. I mentioned to my cousin that I thought the majority of the menu seemed a little expensive, but they do have a pretty varied menu, featuring fried rice, noodle soups (I haven't been to that many places that serve soba, although most serve udon), tempura, several prawn, beef, and chicken appetizers and some unique dishes too - the raw oysters were de-shelled, served in a sauce with hints of ginger, garlic, and spices, nicely presented in an Asian soup spoon - pretty impressive actually. We also had jumbo fried prawns as an appetizer, and several rolls and sashimi for our meal. The freshness of the sashimi and sushi was pretty good (obviously not on par with something along the coast), and the tempura was what you'd expect, but the fried rice that we ordered for my niece tasted way too strongly of soy sauce. The service was great throughout the entire meal - we received our food very promptly, our drinks were never empty, and they asked us if we wanted more Sapporo before we were running on empty. Honestly the only downer was the fact that the prices were so high =/ All in all, I'd probably lean toward giving Sushi Tango 3.5 stars, but 4 will have to do.

I'm going to rate the Woodbury location higher than the MPLS location only because it's the suburbs, and, you know, the suburbs need all the help they can get. It's kind of nice to have a place to get some sushi at lunch, even if it's highly Americanized sushi. I also like being able to get some udon or soba or wakame, even though I have to fork over r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s amounts of money for it. So I eat, but with gritted teeth over the whole ambivalence-arousing experience. The location itself, a chain restaurant tucked in amongst other chain restaurants in a bigger chain of strip malls, is pretty typical for a sell-out joint. But when I'm in the burbs, I can't really complain.

When Sushi Tango first opened in Woodbury I was psyched. I absolutely love their sushi and service in uptown and expected for it to be the same. The last couple times I've gone has been the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. They forgot an item that I ordered so I was forced to ask a different server for it because mine disappeared. She didn't even check up on it and when I asked for my check they had the nerve to bring out my dish. I've been very disappointed of how their service has been lately and have been avoiding to go back here. Let's say the food is amazing but their service sucks.

Yum. I went with my sisters today and we had tuna tataki, crunchy roll, dynamite roll, spicy tuna roll, spring rolls, and spicy tako salad. Spring rolls weren't anything special. I probably won't ever order that again when I visit. The spicy sauce for their tuna tataki is delicious, but be cautious in ordering that if you don't like spicy food. If you do like spicy food/sauce, go for it. We went during happy hour (well, they had happy hour specials all day today) and our bill came up to only $50. Not bad! We went around noon and the place wasn't very busy. Our food came out pretty fast.

I've been really excited to try this place upon hearing how great it was (so great this new Woodbury location was quickly opened) only to find I wasn't that impressed. And trust me, it's not that hard to try to impress me. Since the S/O knew the owners and dine here quite frequently, I let him take the reins. Well--tried to, I did have a few requests of my own. We started the meal off with sake for me, Corona and one wedge of lime for him. Shortly there after, our fresh raw oysters came out. I had wanted oyster shots but a different variation was made for me--seemed they came out topped with a dash of fish sauce, lime juice, garnishes, and freshly cut red chili peppers. Not quite what I wanted but it was a very good combination, something simple enough to be tried at home. (Probably cheaper too!) Shortly after that, the sushi rolled out. I definitely wanted to try the Dynamite roll which included the red chili pepper only to find it was only okay. The spicy tuna and Centipede maki (eel roll with strawberries wrapped on the outside) were only okay as well. The only roll that did surprise me was the Spicy salmon--the spicy mayo in it was really good. Overall consensus? Too pricey for the quantity and quality. $7 for four pieces? Yikes! Bill came easily to over $100 and I cringed a little because the S/O is always a gentleman when we dine. I did however enjoy the decor and the open structure that created an intimate dining experience albeit mediocre food.

I hate to write this because this place is attractive on the inside and the staff was so friendly, but I am half Japanese and was not impressed with the food here. I am not expecting everything to be authentic while in Minnesota, but I do expect it to taste good. I didn't order the sushi since I typically go to Japanese restaurants to eat my favorite meals like ten don, oyako donburi or katsu don. (panko shrimp, chicken with sauce and breaded pork cutlet with sauce and egg over rice, consecutively...) The food was not even close to Japanese, and the quality, poor. They got my order wrong and did offer complimentary potstickers (or in Japan, "gyoza"), but I cannot go back because I paid a lot of money for a very mediocre dish. I hope the sushi is decent, as I hate to see this business go under when they were so nice to us.

Good fresh sushi. I go here because it is close to home. My favorite sushi place is sakuras though. Presentation is lacking but the fresh sushi makes up for it. I enjoy the miso soup and have tried a few salads from here and liked both. If im craving sushi and don't want to leave woodbury this place will do.

I'm not a hardcare sushi go-er. This was my first time having sushi not packaged by a local grocery store so I didn't really have any standards for Sushi Tango to fulfil. Nice atmosphere, clean and mediocre service. Nothing to complain about. Sushi was good ... we got 7 different rolls. We didn't really like the deep fried roll though...it tasted mushy and just kinda weird. Everything else started to taste the same and salty after the first bite. Bill was $90 with no drinks and just strictly sushi rolls....quite pricey for me. I left confused...I was still kinda hungry but forced myself to feel full cause we spent that much. Excellent layout/interior too but I think a few booths would be nice...the tables made me kinda nervous..I felt like I was going to knock stuff off... Anyways, well executed...cute logo..Props for being Hmong owned.... Whoot!!
