Lettuce Wraps Rock! Pei Wei is a good choice (albeit a chain) for something quick, tasty, and reasonably priced. The crowds at Pei Wei are very unpredictable. We've been there on a Friday and there have been plenty of places to sit, but you go on a Sunday at 6 and the place is packed. We've been there a few times and have never been disappointed. I love the orange peel chicken and the lemon pepper chicken. The lettuce wraps are excellent and a must have for any trip to Pei Wei. I think the portions are large - large enough to take some home, but not large enough to share with others. It's a good alternative to local Chinese places (I like to eat too much, so I like buffets instead of sit down Chinese) when you know what you want and you want it to be hot and fast.

I'm not supposed to like Pei Wei according to the cork sniffers. After all, it's a chain, right? BS! My family and I had a great meal here. The chicken salad spring rolls are the best spring rolls I've had anywhere, and I've had many. I had red coconut curry, extra spicy and it was excellent. The green beans were so perfectly cooked they squeaked. My son had the ginger broccoli chicken and he loved it, again, perfectly cooked. My wife's pad thai was great and my daughter's lo mein was just what she wanted. Everything ordered was piping hot, fresh out of the woks. The service was cheerful and attentive. Their menu has something for everyone. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and I'm glad we went there. I won't abandon my favorite local asian joints, but Pei Wei will join them in my favorites.

Ate at Pei Wei on Saturday, ordered dan dan noodles, orange chicken, extra chicken fried rice, and lettuce wraps. i have to say, NOTHING tasted great. The food had ZERO flavor. I would have rather eaten Leann Chins! Normally, the food has some good flavor to it, and this is the first time it's just sucked, but we'll give them 1 more shot. Consistency is tough for any restaurant, but lack of flavor - I feel robbed! I gave them 3 stars because this is the first time the food has had zero taste. Like Carly said, "That said, if you like PF Chang and LeAnn Chin's, you'll probably dig Pei-Wei."

we stop here from time to time. Like the concept but overall just.. well.. bland... Its not all bad, just need to notch it up a bit. 3 star is a good fit. Not all bad, but I dont sit home and crave it I guess.

A side from the helpful server and cashier... The food sucked. The shrimp padthai was sitting in a pool of sauce that taste like vinegar. The steak kungpao taste like burnt soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. Most wasteful $30 ever spent. Gross!

I love Pei Wei. It blasts Leann Chin and other chains out of the water. I even love this Pei Wei. What I don't like is the fact that the last 4 orders I've gotten have been wrong. Or changed on my when I arrive. Oh, we're out of broccoli. Oh, we're out of mango California rolls. Or, this time, we're going to forget your favorite part of your damn meal, the topping of the caramel chicken. Disappointing. But I'll be back. Taking an extra 5 minutes on the phone to confirm they have all my ingredients in stock before I order something.

I like the concept of the flexible menu. You pick a protein and then pick an entree. We had the sesame chicken, honey seared chicken and some vegetable spring rolls. The restaurant is a hip cafe setting and the open kitchen tells me that the kitchen is confident about their hygiene and food quality. The smell of this place is intoxicating and the sizzling of the food and sound of the steel woks is exciting. You have a choice of white rice or brown rice with most entrees. The brown rice seems to dry out really fast. The sesame chicken had large chunks of red peppers and onions. The sauce was thick, like a barbecue sauce and it was very savory and flavorful. The honey seared chicken were fried bites, in a sweet glaze. The sesame chicken started tasting a little too salty and the honey seared chicken started tasting a little too sweet so we bartered with each other and shared our food. The food is good and indulgent, however, I could see how many might feel that the food is over seasoned. We also had lo mein, and the noodles are not browned with soy sauce like I'm used to, but the meat and veggies tossed in, tasted great. I could see developing a Pei Wei craving. I had a couple of heartfelt and dramatic, "yums!" throughout the meal and isn't that what a good meal is all about?
Dont go anywhere near this place during peak hours. Service is slow (waited 40 minutes and finally left), one other time the food was undercooked. Never again.

Don't touch with a 10 foot pole!! Worst meal I have had all year, we had to wait 20+ minutes for our food. And was not worth the wait. The restaurant was freezing cold and was unconfortable. My advice stick with what you know.

We ordered takeout, and this was the blandest meal I've had in a while. I understand that most chain Asian restaurants Americanize their menus, but the food we received was just bizarre. The lo mein noodles were way overcooked and tasted like it was just tossed in canola oil. The orange chicken was just sour and had no balance to it. The lettuce wraps were the most palatable thing we got, but nothing to shout about since it seemed like just ground meat with soy sauce. Now this would have been OK if it was a cheap place, but for the price of about $10 per low quality, smallish dish, this was just a huge disappointment and ripoff. We will never be going back that's for sure!

Good tasting food but over priced. The management staff does not have enough people covering the front of the house. Poor counter service!. 15 people had their orders taken before the one girl could walk 8 feet to the take-away counter. Not her fault, mangers fault!!!!

I ordered pork egg rolls and ginger broccoli beef. The egg rolls were good but the ginger broccoli sauce was extremely salty. It's almost too salty to eat. I had to drink lots of water while having the food. I was very disappointed at the dish.

Good Asian take-out and Sunday football is a match made in heaven! We typically go to Taste of Thailand, but since they don't open until 4PM, we decided to give Pei Wei a try. If you're used to real, quality, traditional Asian cuisine, you will not be impressed by Pei Wei. It's a chain and it shows - over-priced and boring. The Lo Mein was extremely greasy and turned to mush by the time we got home, the sweet and sour dish was border-line inedible due to the crazy amount of fresh ginger and the spring rolls were teeny-tiny for the price.

We stopped in here for a bite on a weeknight just before Christmas. Having never been here we asked the person at the counter how things worked and what was popular. She gave us advice and told us how things worked. We ordered and she gave us free pops - which I thought was nice. The eating area was cold, dark and needed a scrub. The tables were sticky and although I saw gals (yes - everyone I saw working was female, young and blond which was sort of weird. Maybe they have group hair coloring nights for the employees?) clearing tables - nobody seemed to be actually cleaning the tables. We were brought out our spring rolls first. They had more spice than I am normally happy with but they were good. Next came 2 crab won-tons. We ordered (and paid for) 4 so we were a little irritated that they only brought us two. (We decided to call it a wash since we got free pops.) The won-tons are AWESOME. I had the Mongolian style chicken and my hubby had Kung Pao Shrimp. Mine was fine. The ingredients tasted fresh and it was fine. My husband said his was so spicy he could barely eat it - but otherwise it was fine. We talked about our meal after we left and were heading home into yet more snow. Neither one of us would race back here for food, but we wouldn't avoid it if someone else wanted us to join them there. It's definitely not going into our rotation of places to hit - but it wasn't bad. Maybe we just didn't order the right stuff. Other than the won-tons that is. Those were DEFINITELY the right stuff.

On the recommendation of a foodie--a foodie of Asian heritage--I came back and got the Kung Pao chicken to go. It was the best I've ever had, and I've had a *lot* of Kung Pao. I don't like cooked carrots (and oddly, this is served with carrot coins rather than the typical matchstick shape), but I inhaled every one. Again, service was stellar. I was given a complimentary beverage for my wait--which wasn't long--and it was a paper cup, so I could have theoretically sat by the fountain station and guzzled away as I waited and still taken a full cup to go. Better than that, once again, staff was very friendly, competent, and a pleasure to deal with. Someone somewhere in the Pei Wei/PF Changs/whoever the parent company is is doing something right.

I used to go to the Pei-Wei in St. Anthony before it kicked the bucket. . . and wasn't that impressed. Which doesn't mean that this Pei-Wei is a Pei-Don't, but the menus are probably the same. I guess I'm just not a fan of the chain-asian places. . . it's like you can tell they're not real. That said, if you like PF Chang and LeAnn Chin's, you'll probably dig Pei-Wei.

Never been disappointed with the food here. For above par, fast, made to order Asian cuisine, Pei Wei provides a quality product consistently. Try the Vietnamese chicken salad rolls. They cost a bit more than I'm comfortable with but I order them every time because I can't stop eating them! I also recommend the pad Thai and the sweet and sour chicken.

This is a pretty good place! I've had some hit and miss dishes but overall, it's solid. Recently tried the Thai River Chow Fun noodles, something was missing from the sauce...it just wasn't the greatest. And I may be in the minority here, but the crab rangoons had too much crab and not enough cheese for me...perhaps I ought to stick to cream cheese wontons only? I won't think any less of Pei Wei for that, but it is just a general FYI for wonton lovers. The sauce with the wontons is good though, sweet but not overly so. And it's not that funky watermelon sweet and sour color either! The Ginger Broccoli isn't "gingery" enough for me, sorta lacking some flavor in general. So overall nothing is bad, just seems to be missing some flavor for me. The dishes I've tried so far that I love are the Japanese Chile Ramen (with fresh lime and cilantro) and the Kung Pao Beef is definitely awesome (this is probably the best thing I've tried here). I am usually not a big fan of Sweet and Sour Chicken (see comment above regarding the sauce...) but Pei Wei's S&S is really good! Big pieces of chicken and not just the breading. Something I appreciate about Pei Wei is the option to choose between white or brown rice at no extra cost for brown. The ambiance is nice, the service has always been very friendly, and they offer a Gluten Free menu, as well.

Great choice for a nice lunch or quick, cheap dinner. I first experienced Pei Wei while working down in Dallas - and that was probably the highlight of my three months down there :) So I was really excited when one opened in Woodbury. Pei Wei is the faster food version of PF Chang's You stand in line to order, then get your own drinks, then sit down, and they bring out your food. Prices are reasonable, $7 - $10 per entree, and the quality is good. The portions are smallish - I always get enough to eat, but do eat almost a full entree (whereas at most restaurants, I take half home in a doggie-bag). I especially like the lettuce wraps, wontons, Honey Seared and Teriyaki Bowl. I personally like the veggie/tofu option, which is heavy on the tofu, but many people don't.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Another mediocre meal from Pei Wei. Just like the last time we dined here, the entrées were brought out separately and about 5 minutes apart. Awkward for the diners. Their food is just ok at best. The sweet and sour chicken is just too sweet and much closer to an orange chicken. The rice is completely tasteless and dried out. Meh....

Dont go anywhere near this place during peak hours. Service is slow (waited 40 minutes and finally left), one other time the food was undercooked. Never again.
(1)Evan F.

(2)Scott D.
Awesome service. Great food. Been there 20+ times and never had a problem.
(5)N C.

(4)Jason M.
Been going there for years. Very reasonably priced and the portions are plentiful. Spicy Korean chicken is an absolute favorite. Chicken is pure white tender meat. You've gotta try it.

(2)M S.
Okay. Lettuce wraps were the best part. S&S chicken too sweet. And the kids did not like their meal.
(2)Scott C.

Went there today for a late lunch. The food was fresh and fast, the place was clean, the employees were friendly - great fast food alternative here.

(5)Matt M.
A good Asian restaurant ,a break from the chow mien places real ramen good fresh veges and good meat ingredients a favorite place for me

A side from the helpful server and cashier... The food sucked. The shrimp padthai was sitting in a pool of sauce that taste like vinegar. The steak kungpao taste like burnt soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. Most wasteful $30 ever spent. Gross!

(4)Sal K.
I ordered food *online* for take-out at lunchtime today for myself and some co-workers. What a slick process! It's so seamless. You can even customize your dish online. Oh, and they have brown rice at no extra cost. Yes!
