I've been here twice. The first time we sat at a table and had excellent service. The food was good and service was great. The second time we sat at the bar, and the bartender was horrible and rude. She acted like we were bothering her every time, and would ignore us. We had a good time even with the bad service, but I will not be back.

Bull riding, pull tabs. Tots!, great staff, great bar, great food. Perfect place for a Friday night.

Dope rooftop which is adjacent from Target Field. A must before or after a Twins game. Food is typical American bar food but they do have tater tots which is awesome. Good HH prices and huge downstairs.

This was one of our many back-ups to a bar-crowded Tavern Grill. There was room at the bar for a Friday night. When browsing through the menu, I knew I wanted to try the Tater Tot appetizer dish. I have a soft spot for tater tots, which reminds me of Elementary School lunches. It was a bit weird since the menu did not quite describe what I should expect from a "secret recipe". It was like beef stroganoff with ground beef, some peas and gravy, then topped with tater tots and onion rings. Of course I finished all the tater tots and onion rings. I also had the wedge salad to share. Thinking I would get a "wedge", instead we were served half the head of lettuce. It was good but big. I definitely loved the bleu chees dressing and jalapeno bacon. We didn't finish it. After eating, we meandered to check out the rest of the restaurant and decided the next time we visit, we will grab drinks and chill at the fireplace. To end the night, we played two rounds of Big Buck Hunter, which was the highlight of the evening.

I had the pleasure of visiting this place for the first time a few weeks back and I'm glad I did. I have to say I misjudged it prior to walking in and I actually like the decor and atmosphere. I assumed it was a "meat-market"type club place because I hear of so many young 20 somethings going here to parrrtayyy and ending up getting trashy and making poor decisions. I am not into that scene and can appreciate a wild night here and there but at this point in life those are fewer and father between. I did not experience that at all but I was there over happy hour and on a week night. We had a couple apps and a few drinks. It was pretty standard and nothing to get upset or excited about. It does look like it would be a blast if you are looking to get buckwild and pick up a wanna-be cowboy or cowgirl.

Queso dip is velveeta. Had better black bean burger from the freezer at target. Mac and cheese pizza was cut up hot dog with cheez wiz Alfredo for sauce. Total joke. Service was good and they make a decent cherry Pepsi. Never again.

So after a few bad stop ins. They reached out to me and offered a gift card. Thank you. We have been back a couple times and tried some of the same things again and even some new items. Seems like they DID improve and make changes. Some things we noticed. Steak - Cooked to temp, seasoned well.. Very good! (ribeye) Veggies - not cooked to mush and not just boiled. MUCH better Beef tips.. YEAH.. they arent just scrap that has been cooked to jerky. Actually cooked to temp and seasoned.. MUCH better. Hot Dish.. OK.. we were skeptical.. But this was GOOD! Not sure what was like before.. but when we had it last month it was good. Meatloaf. Overall pretty decent.. Little dense and drown in sauce.. Not all bad.. Sure this could be a fan favorite.. The tots are good still !:) "kobe" Philly steak.. Still a bit shady.. Big hot soggy cheesy mess..needs more meat.. not seeing the Kobe..or meat on these... Philly steak sandwiches are supposed to be loaded with meat and yes.. . messy.. these are just messy! :) So yes... things are better... the portions seems to be more on par... Things are cooked properly and seasoned... Major improvement. Kudos for that. So why only 3 stars? It was bad before.. Maybe after we go again and we can see how things maintain. The ribeye.. 4 star.. Meat loaf... 2.5.. Tidbits.. Solid 3.... Philly sandwich.. 1.5... So just averaging out.... At least this place is a viable option to eat at again. I hope this maintains. Thank you for the offering the gift card and making improvements.

Best Happy Hour around, bar none. $2 Call Drinks, 3-6 and 10-close, and the drinks are good pours! Free popcorn and free salted peanuts. Waitresses are hot, and the Apps are half price. What more could you ask for? Except turn down the music a little!

Super fun atmosphere. Really great drink specials and yummy popcorn and standard bar food...nothing out of the ordinary except the mechanical bull.

Drink prices and huge open floor are the 2 biggest reasons we come here. We are guaranteed a table/chairs and can get drunk for cheap. If you roam around this place, it's like visiting several different bars in one. They have a huge bar along the north side of the building, so it's always crowded there. Depending on when you visit, they sometimes have the dance floor right up by the bar (creating a logistical nightmare when you need a refill) or over toward the middle, past the mechanical bull. They have a large patio. They have two different areas with couches/cozy chairs. They have a ski-ball/arcade area. They have shuffleboard and a bean toss game. They have corners with a little bar edge and some stools. They have pull tabs. They often have live music. And it's not always country, despite the name of the bar. As mentioned, drinks are cheap, and their "specials" are during hours that people ACTUALLY drink, not 4-6 like most stupid places. Atmosphere- it's a HUGE place, so if you're not feeling the vibe in one area, move over 30 feet. There are free peanuts and popcorn, so you'll crunch no matter where you walk. The women's bathroom stalls lock about 50% of the time. If the music is too loud, move on back, there's plenty of room. A few TVs scattered here and there, but I don't think it would be a good place to watch a game/event. Service. Um. Well... after a while, we start just getting the drinks from the bar ourselves. Whoever is the DD for the night does the running- both because she can navigate the dance floor the easiest and can keep better track of who's money is whose. Great place for a group, especially a group like mine that would rather sit and play cards and drink, with an occasional game of shuffleboard thrown in. Come join us some Saturday night.

Had our end of year bowling banquet there on Saturday 5/16 and where quoted $14 for the taco buffet. When the bill came we where advised that this did not include tip, we where advised that the $14 was for everything. So now I had to pay for the tip out of my own pocket as I had already collected the money from everyone and most people had left. NICE!!!!! Then we didn't get everything that was listed that we where suppose to and the beef and chicken where both cold and the chicken had no flavor. What a complete disappointment and end up costing me a lot more money when it shouldn't have.

I'd like to start off by saying the interior of this place is truly remarkable. A bit of kitsch with warm fireplaces and ample seating, it allows for a good dining experience without forgetting that it really is a watering hole. However, this place gets busy as I have been here three times now and have only been inside once. This is because the parking lot seems to hold more traffic than is actually inside the restaurant. And speaking of which, someone may want to come outside and have a little looksie around said lot since my wife nearly stepped in someone vomit. Yeah... vomit... All of that aside, I did enjoy the food here, but think that some things were just a little strange to me. My wife said her burger was undercooked and I found the tater tot hotdish, which I just had to try, to be pretty salty and not in need of wine. Nobody should be putting wine in tater tot hotdish. I could see myself giving this place another star or two if the staff just put in a little more effort.

Fun friendly atmosphere with cheap food and booze. Best of all It's right up the street and perfect an anytime HAPPY HOUR!

There are two bartenders that leave much room for an improvement. "Panda" is our least favorite bartender, she is rude and added a dollar into a tip on our card last week. It was only a dollar but next time we go there we will talk to a manager about it. On the upside, there are many other staff members that are great, if they could get rid of the bad apple we would love the place.

Just open three days. Server was a bit unsure of the drink products, but promptly found out. Good variety in menu choices and the Cheese Burger and Tator Tots were very good. I was there early so crowd was limited. Has a mechanical bull, small band stage and a large bar. Good be a good choice for a cowboy evening out.

This building has housed numerous restaurants over the years and all of them have been horrible. We were leery going in but figured no one can ruin a beer during a Vikings game. We were pleasantly surprised. The decor is great, the food and the service were very good. I had the sirloin tips and they were delicious. There are some interesting things on the menu and we will be stopping in again.

The food is good, the atmosphere is great and a fun place to go with a group...but the service is really spotty..4th time here and 2nd time the waitress has been pretty rude...

The first time I paid a visit to Cowboy Jack's, I sat at the bar and was in awe of the transformation that had taken place since it was Throwback's/Woody's. The location has had a troubling history over the years with numerous failed establishments in its wake. However, the effort and attention to detail in creating something special was clearly evident with Cowboy Jack's. The Staff - Establishments like this rise and fall based on the quality of the staff. With that said, I have yet to come across a member of the staff that hasn't been professional, courteous, and attentive. The hosts offer a cheerful greeting the moment you walk in the door without fail. The servers are friendly and quick to tend to you the moment you sit down. The bartenders are personable and highly skilled at the art of mixology. Another Yelper wrote a negative review where she calls out one the bartenders, Panda, as being rude and a "bad apple". I humbly disagree with my fellow Yelper and feel the need to comment on this. I have had the pleasure of Panda serving me on a number of occasions and it is my opinion that she is a consummate professional. I have yet to meet anyone who frequents Cowboy Jack's that feels otherwise. I question the motives of this Yelper, but that's neither here nor there. The security staff is also worth mentioning, as they do a great job of maintaining a safe environment on weekend nights when people from all over descend on the bar in search of a good time. For those that come with ill intent and/or step over the line, the security staff sees to it they get their just deserts. The Management - It's not easy work managing the daily operations of an establishment like this one. It takes dedication and passion to keep everything running smoothly and it's clear the management team has that. The manner in which they manage the daily chaos is admirable. The Food - The menu is comprehensive with offerings that can please almost any palate. During happy hour they have select appetizers that are half off. My favorite being the mini tater tot hot dish. If you're looking for a more substantial meal, you can't go wrong with a bison burger. The only item on the menu I'm not fond of is the calamari. If you are just looking for something simple to chew on while you throw back a few drinks, they have free salted in-shell peanuts that will appease you. The Bar - The actual bar itself is amazing. It's super long with ample seating. Small details like padded bar stools and the brass foot rail make this bar superior to the other Saloon-themed bar in Woodbury, Wild Bill's. A nice touch is the roll-up doors behind the bar during the warmer months. As far as drink selection goes, it's doubtful you will be disappointed. I'm a creature of habit that drinks the same thing every single time I go there, but I have yet to hear anyone moan about them not having their favorite beer or hard liquor. The Patio - When it's warm outside, the patio is almost always packed. With two well-maintained volleyball courts, a fire pit, and ample seating it is certainly a good place to hangout on a cool summer night. In closing, if you are looking for a place that goes out of its way to provide you with a good time and great service, you don't need to look any further than Cowboy Jack's in Woodbury.

Great venue! Long wait for a table on Friday eve, the place is packed. Slow service, mediocre food. Fun hangout but not for foodies Manager stopped by. We let him know the situation. He was apologetic and was very kind and asked we return to give them another chance. We will!

My wife and I have come here twice now and are quite impressed. The place is HUGE and roomy. You don't feel like you are elbow to elbow with the people at the table next to you. The last time, we went on a Wednesday for the $2 burgers. The parking lot was FULL. We had reservations about going in and thought that we would have to wait an hour to get seated so my wife went in to see the wait time while I drove around looking for someone to leave so I could take their spot. When I got in, I was surprised to see it took only a couple of minutes to seat us. What? Let's see, the parking lot was packed but the place didn't look crowded inside. I didn't realize a lot of people were outside eating and playing volleyball. The waittresses have been nice and so far, the food has been really good. It's nice to see a good restaurant in this location, which has changed hands many times since I have been in Woodbury. We'll be back!

The place looks really nice, the food is very affordable and portioned to the customers advantage. We were so impressed by the appetizers that we ordered the meatloaf sliders, tatertot hotdish and the steak tips... Everything was delicious. I hope next time we save room for the desert menu, red velvet cheesecake is my favorite! Kudos to the staff.

Restaurant/Bar atmosphere. Food was pretty good but service could be a little better.

Love this place!! Great burgers and the steak salad is the best! Great daily specials too, stopping in tomorrow for Sloppy Jacks-YUM:)
(5)Gaile S.
Positive: this bar has an awesome outdoor patio! Negative: the worst bar food ever and slow service. You have to wait a while to get drinks at the bar, you are MUCH better off getting your drinks from a waitress.

Had a huge issue and they handled it very well. Good to know that even when mistakes happen they address. Can't wait to give it another try. There bartenders are top notch. Great place to go after work during the week!
