Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

The food was definitely okay tasting. We had the fried ravioli for an appetizer, which was fantastic. I had the $12 Alfredo dish. That was way to expensive for pasta. The taste was as expected. Nothing amazing. My daughter had the ravioli. Five ravioli hidden in a pond of sauce, $11. My husband liked the fries. The service was excellent. All in all, I wouldn't go back.

If you go for the American food, you're ok. Great steak dinner with garlic mashed potatoes is the Monday night special and it's grilled up perfectly. Buffalo wings are good and so are the deep fried ravioli. The only Pasta dish I would recommend is the Cajun Chicken Pasta- good and spicy. Stay away from the Italian- tastes like Chef Boyardee. Awesome bar tho with lots of TVs and comfy leather booths for watching sports!

This.. should be a 0 star. Ordered Sausage and peppers over pasta to go. * Pasta so over cooked was mush * Peppers scorched and dry.. couple actually broke from being burnt so bad. * Onions scorched and there was so many this was a onion dish * 2 pieces of green peppers (yes, scorched) * the bread was ice cold and stale * barely any sauce.. 2 tablespoons.. 3? and what was there was bad...It was like it came straight from school lunch canned tomato sauce over the mushy noodles and had the scorched taste of everything else. I had 2 bites from parts I was hoping weren't completely turned to charcoal. yeah... that didn't work... and yeah... it was bad... This really was a terrible terrible version of what can be a great dish. It was greasy, so so so scorched... I keep saying scorched as burnt just does not equal this.. Burnt would be an improvement. The penne noodles were complete mush, and it was all onions.. Literally 2 pieces of peppers. Not that it mattered.. couldn't eat it. Oh.. the sauce? yesh.. also beyond charred and nominal in count. I got this to go as everyone else I was with had eaten before we got here and we had plans. So I get that maybe a "to go" order will get noodles to cook a bit more than a good al dente.. but this is all beyond acceptable. Scorched, burnt, blackened, much and worse. Sad part is that I got this to go as was on a time crunch and figured eat quick when got home before next stop... so there I was with that cooked on the sun dish. Guess its PB&J or some fast food drive through.. least I know what Im getting. This was not my first visit here or the first food I have had. Previously the food was "ok" but nothing great.. maybe 2 star.. Greasy apps, bland. Never wrote a review. But after this dish... yeah.. 0... *** READ THE HIDDEN REVIEWS...

Patio seating nice. Flatbread good. Lg Ceasar salad was not very large for $10.95, & not noteworthy.

The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, unfortunately the food is lackluster. I ordered chicken Parmesan. The pasta was overlooked and the sauce was too sweet. They also smothered the food with too much sauce. The chicken appeared to be something they bought frozen and then reheated. Not impressed...will not return.

$9.95 Steak dinner on Mondays. WORTH IT. Perfectly cooked 6-8oz sirloin, big pile of homemade garlic mashed potatoes, bread, and a big salad. Seriously a good deal. Happy hour deals are great, $4 apps and discount beer. Fried ravioli are awesome! Had a work event here recently and had the Chicken Parm...I was struggling to finish it. its HUGE! But most importantly, delicious. As an added bonus, they have Summit Oatmeal Stout on tap! Service is wonderful, family owned joint and it shows.

Nice bar! Bad food. The sauce on my spaghetti was sweet, and, tasteless. Kids might like this restaurant, but, not anyone that enjoys good Italian cuisine. No garlic bread, and, the plain white bread they served was dry. We won't be back!

Do you know what this place is? It's HONEST! Is the food "authentic Italiano" Not quite. Are there a few misses here and there? Sure, now and then. But these people are so damn sincere about serving good food to good people, that I can overlook a few things. The servers are so friendly and really know the menu, even the seasonal specials. They have all tasted all of the food, and when they recommend something- get it or be sorry! Obviously, sit in the dining room side, not the bar, unless you're meeting friends for a drink. Order off the seasonal or special menu, unless something on the regular menu catches your eye. The ravioli is almost always a good choice. ASK your server what they recommend if you are wavering between two dishes. Have NEVER been steered wrong here. Get a dessert! Especially whatever fruit dessert that is in season. They have an apple crisp sort of thing that comes out so soft, hot, cinnamony and perfect that it makes me want to weep. They just care about people. I have no better way of saying this. I've never met the owners (I don't think) but they are A-OK in my book. They even have a special on Sunday nights for people in the restaurant/service industry- show your badge/paycheck and get a FREE drink and a special price on spaghetti. They also have a few gluten free options, but I don't mess around with that kind of stuff, so can't tell you if it's any good or not. All I know is, go there, ask what the best thing on special is, and get a dessert.

Quality steaks. Delicious dry rub wings. One of a kind bruschetta. Ever improving beer list. Great family ownership.

I'm more at 2 3/4 stars...convenient parking, the space was casual with an open feel, service was attentive, but not hovering. The background music wasn't overly loud, the bar area looked like it would be a fun place to hang out - plenty of TV's! My lasagna was super cheesy, and odd it's coming from me, but it was a bit much. Their red sauce is thick and I'm guessing it's fennel that was a predominant flavor. Different, but I liked it. Their version of tiramisu was a bit closer in consistency to a cheesecake, not the fluffy version I am used to. It did enjoy it though!

Their marinara is the star of the show. It's solid, a bright tangy tomato. I think they're struggling with consistency from the kitchen still. I stick to the spaghetti and meatballs and enjoy it. Prices are too high for this type of food, so only 3 stars for now.

My wife and I felt like a couple Italian appetizers and a cocktail for a Gophers hockey game. We had the fried ravioli and the chopped salad. The ravioli was not as flavorful as we would have liked, but the marinara was very good and made up for it. The chopped salad on the other hand was very bland. The olives were the only part of the salad with flavor. The service was very good and the beer was cold, both positives.

It's too bad that a New Place has to be So Bad I'm betting Chef Boy Ardee, Stoufers & Rague are key ingredients in their kitchen Good luck! No Thought goes into the food that is served it is hard to Find good Italian Food and this place just made it Harder! I'll Check Back in a Few months and see if Anything has improved if it's Still open?

Great great place. Great chef, great owners. Service was impeccable. After being in the restaurant business for over 25 years, I can appreciate going out to other places and being treated the way I expect to treat customers. Brenda, Dave, jimmy, and Richard, definitely do. I have always imagined what NY/NJ style Italian food would be like. We now have it in Woodbury, MN. Order the chicken marsala. You'll be glad you did.

Good drinks, not an applebees thank God, limoncello martinis and dessert awesome, plus we left kids at home. Priceless!

I was really ready for a great experience... and must say I was underwhelmed. The place was very busy for a Saturday night so we ate in the bar which was fine. Server was very pleasant and attentive. Small menu, not too much choice. Only 2 desert options and no chocolate. Drinks outnumbered food by far - not sure if Carmine's is a bar trying to be a restaurant or a restaurant trying to be a bar. The live music was really nice.... too bad he was competing with the game on the many televisions for people's attention. We had the Caesar salad, which was over the top too saucy and not well mixed (and we generally like creamy Caesar salads), the bruschetta was just cold tomatoes and oregano on sliced bread drizzled with balsamic.... fine but not what we expected... Shrimp Fetticini Alfredo was fine and the bolognese was ok... I really didn't find any dish to bring me back or tell friends about. I will probably give it one more try but order something completely different and hope to find a new favorite. And the web site needs work...

I had high hopes for when I realized a "real Italian" restaurant was opening in Woodbury: especially one with a head chef that had some stripes from well-established restaurants under his belt. However, Woodbury will remain devoid of anything authentic for quite some time to come in favor of your typical paint-by-numbers cuisine that lacks flavor and imagination. The 15 minute wait for a table was understandable as the restaurant was completely packed. The table we were sat at was mostly lit by the sunlight outside. I immediately had reservations that they were trying to hide something. I had the bolognese figuring I couldn't go wrong since it carried the chefs namesake, yet it felt a little too canned. Same with the marinara. The breadsticks were pretty much the same as Olive Garden as were the prices. Yet, it wasn't all bad as the bolognese was somewhat tasty. I give this place three stars and am not sure if I will be back because hey...at least it's not Olive Garden (again...)
