Decent bar and grill type food. The hot wings came in pretty hefty portions, I could swear that the "one pound" feels much heavier. But seriously, I felt that I was paying San Francisco prices for food and drink in Winona. At least my Jack on the rocks had a lot of Jack and not a lot of rocks.

Jefferson's is one of my favorite places to eat in Winona...and I have lived their for 20 years! Try the home made corn bread with honey butter and their chicken noodle soup...YUM!

The food is alright, nothing special. I would say it is slightly over priced for the product you receive. As for their bar, it is superb and is the reason I gave 4 stars. Jefferson's offers 2 for 1 drinks from 8-10pm 7 days a week. The bartender's are all superb and very courteous.

From my two experiences, I'd recommend heartland food like barbecue over coastland food like fish. I had some chicken with bacon and barbecue sauce that was excellent, then some salmon the next time that was good but bland. I live in San Francisco so I have a high standard for salmon; but I've lived in San Antonio as well and I thought the barbecue sauce Jefferson's uses was delicious. They also have good drinks---we enjoyed the bloody marys last Sunday---and very pleasant and helpful servers. I look forward to my next visit.

It was your typical American Restaurant. Good food, big portions on mash Potatoes with my meat, and damn good drinks. I love the fact that it is decorated with old movie posters, and some of my favorite old movies. Good place to go have a quiet catch up lunch with a close friend. I totally heart homey American restaurants.

Nice restaurant....kind of stumbled across it while driving downtown. Ordered lunch at 1...service was terrific. Atmosphere was great....river view was a big plus. Only criticism I have is the food was just above average. This is why I rated it 4/5. Def. wouldve been a 5/5. Nothing was really wrong with the food...was just expecting maybe a little more pizazz for the price. Would come back again some other time were in town.

There are not many decent restaurants in Winona. After registering my daughter for college we thought we would give this place a try. I agree with the other post about the cheese curds we received about 10 small cheese curds for $7.99. Not cool. They were mediocre at best. We each ordered a regular sized burger, not the half pound. They should probably indicate what size the "other size" burger is because mine was about the size of a silver dollar, it didn't come with everything the menu indicated, and to be honest, the meat was gross. How can you mess up a burger? I wish I had remembered to take a picture of it. After peeling off all the extra bread because the "burger" was so small, I literally had a plate full of bread. The fries were basic. Even the pickle spear looked like it had seen better days. The service was good. It's too bad they don't put any effort in the food. With so few selections in town, it wouldn't take much to be a hot spot. If you are looking for a place to take your kid for a decent meal this is not the place. You would be much better off at Culvers.

This is the best restaurant in Winona!! I always came here to eat when I lived in Winona. I miss it! I always got the chicken tender wrap, so good! All of their food is good, so are their drinks! Plus they have good deals & the prices are fair. I absolutely love Jefferson's!! :)

This place is not bad. It's a pretty typical bar and grill. the menu is pretty extensive, butI wouldn't stray away from the burgers and sandwiches in fear off being disappointed. During lunch, they seem to be extremely under staffed. There is no such thing as a quick lunch here. You'll actually get faster service at dinner.

The small plate of cheese curds was $7 & come from frozen bags. The $10 burger was bland & overcooked with only 9 waffle fries. Some of the waffle fries had not been cut correctly so they were large slices of potato. The only bright spot was the 1919 Root Beer, but it costs $3 per glass. I would not recommend coming here.

Tonight, I had an awesome meal! I had the GARLIC SIRLOIN Juicy 8oz. garlic marinated steak seasoned and grilled to perfection $13.99 (Information from their menu) The description does not do justice to how awesomely delicious this steak was! I had wonderful baked potato and a cup of their homemade chicken noodle soup. I am definately going back!

We were staying in Winona for a few days while traveling up and down the Mississippi Valley, and decided to give these guys a tryout for local dinner. Plusses: food was excellent; my wife had a grilled-cheese-and-tomato-soup combo, and I went with the basic burger. All this was cooked very competently and quickly. Minuses: Apparently these guys don't sell much Guinness. I ordered a draught pint and when it came back, it didn't have the creamy head that the True Nectar is known for, and didn't really taste much like Guinness. I also got whiffs of what reminded me of the swimming pool at my high school, so when the server came around and asked if I wanted a refill, I ended up switching to something else. I don't know what was going on with that stuff, but it wasn't draught Guinness (or the tap line is in dire need of purging and cleaning). I'd love to be able to give a fourth star, but I just got "ick"-ed out by the beer. If we come back to the area, I'd be inclined to give this place another shot, but try some other tap brew.

I like the atmosphere of this place and the homemade lasagna was pretty good. Being from the cities, I wouldn't make an extra trip to make sure I swing by there, but the price is fairly reasonable and the wait staff is friendly.

I had the bleu cheese walnut salad with chicken. The salad was good, but I was disappointed to know they didn't have balsamic vinagrette. I feel this is a pretty standard dressing choice, but not in Winona in general I guess. The cornbread that came with was pretty good (and I'm sure awful for me). My boyfriend had a 1/2 lb. cheese burger which he thought was good. I thought most of the food there was slightly overpriced compared to the rest of the places we had visited in Winona. My only other complaint was the amount of wait time at the front. It seemed like they were a little undermanned for Memorial Day weekend.

We had our wedding reception here and the lasagna and chicken alfredo offered on the buffet (yes, we did a buffet at our wedding) were really good. We ate lunch here the day prior to the wedding and the service and food were great. Our server didn't flinch when our 4-top evolved into a 12-top and all of our food still came out hot and fresh in a reasonable amount of time.

I stopped in for lunch, Great food, Friendly staff. This is in a historical building and that have the awesome old wooden bar. That also have a table set up for beer pong so I imagine this place is a bit wiled once the sun goes down. I stooped in for lunch a 2nd time and was talking to the bartender and found out he was one of the owners. They have only taken ownership a few months ago "4/2013" They have added several beers on tap and added a much larger liquor selection. If you haven't been there recently stop in and try out the new menu.
