Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

This is a once-a-week stop for me. Fresh food, good prices!

Celiac friendly. When ordering Gluten Free, there are many menu options and confirmed that gluten free soy sauce is used.

Steer away from this place. We were passing through Winona and hungry. Chinese sounded delicious and there was the Golden China right off Highway 61. Decision made. When we walked in the place was very dark with a kind of musty smell to it. Whatever... we were taking it to go. Checked the takeout menu and the prices were high, even for Chinese food. Everything was about $10. Orange Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Pork Fried Rice -- $30. Orange chicken was OK...straight from the frozen pack. Beef and Broccoli had good flavor but the carrots and broccoli seemed distinctively unfresh. The pork fried rice was brutal. Almost inedible. On top of that, when given our food to go there were no napkins, forks, soy sauce or fortune cookies, so make sure you check the bag before you leave if taking out. I will never eat there again, and recommend that you don't either. Bad news.

It's alright, fresh food, typical Chinese place. Not the best in town but alright.

This is an excellent chinese restaurant! It's a clean, neat, restaurant with good Chinese food. It's not that crappy, greasy food you get at a Chinese buffet. The wait staff is very friendly as well. It also has a great location right off of I-61.

I have eaten at many, many Chinese restaurants. We have a really good selection in Chicago, not only in Chinatown, but in the neighborhoods and the 'burbs. I know that finding a good Chinese restaurant in an area where there's little to choose from can be a shot in the dark. In this case, we hit WAY wide of the mark. I'm giving Golden China two stars because it is clean and the waitress was friendly and competent. But no one in our party was at all impressed with the food. It wasn't even Panda Express-level food--it was more like TV dinner quality. Bland. The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. Those of us who ordered the egg drop soup had EGGsactly one DROP before calling it quits. The egg roll (my favorite part of any Chinese dinner) was boring, and apparently they don't use hot mustard in Minnesota. The crab rangoon were as hard as floor tiles. I should mention that the prices were shockingly high. Here in Chicago, you can get a Chinese dinner that includes a generous bowl of soup, an egg roll, and fried rice for about $7. Golden China's menu is almost entirely $9.99 and up, and only a limited number of those selections include an egg roll. True, the portions are generous, and it is possible for two people to share an entree, although they might want to add the sides a la carte. Going back to the egg roll issue, if a couple does go that route, ONE egg roll is $2.50. Unbelievable. (Again, here in Chicago, you can buy two for $2. And they would be real egg rolls, not mass-produced frozen snack egg rolls.) I don't know what these college kids do when they have a craving for Chinese food--drive to Twin Cities? For sure, they don't stop at the Golden Chinese....more than once.

Food is extremely bland and the service is not good. After dropping off my food, I had to wait 12 minutes for my waitress to finish a personal conversation before she came and checked on me. Not impressed.
