I stopped for lunch on Nov 21 2014 while in town. I had a chicken grande burro $8.95 from the lunch menu. it came with refried beans, Spanish rice, and a wonderful pico de gallo with cilantro which was very good. The chicken burro (soft burrito topped with a white cheese sauce) was very good. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good Mexican food.

Was actually a lot better than I was expecting. My only complaint was that our food came out way too fast. The cheese wasn't even fully melted inside the tortilla.

Love the food here. Definately our family favorite. Food is always excelent, and great portions. Food is always delivered very quickly. My kids love the chips and salsa, especially the white (ranch?) dip they serve with it. Down side was... We went there on my birthday, and my only criticism is that I got a face full of whipped cream. PLEASE owners, don't do that. I nearly ruined my birthday celebration. That "tradition" is not appreciated on adults. Otherwise, we love the food here.

I have eaten here a number of times. The service has always been fast and courteous and portions are generous. But the food is bland. I have tried several different menu items and they all seem to taste the same. The guacamole is kind of like the frozen kind you buy at the grocery store and certainly not freshly made. One suggestion I would make to their cook/chef is try using real cheese in the "cheese enchiladas". Whatever they use is more like a white cheese sauce and certainly not like real cheese. I tried to order a side of grated cheese to go with the enchiladas and what I got was a cup of white cheese sauce ! I do like their rice and the meats they use (pork, beef and chicken) are pretty good. If there were more restaurant options in Waconia I probably would not visit this location again.

Ate there last night for our 9th anniversary. Food tasted good, but almost 2 hrs later I am sick. I ate the seafood enchilada. First AND last time having that. Happy anniversary with a fever and stomach issues. I would have preferred jewelry over this.

Foods not bad but the service here is never good. The hostess brought us to our table and before we were even there she put the menus down, didn't say a word and was off to talk to her server buddies. Our server was nice but only came around every 15 minutes whether he had to or not. All the staff gathers at a back table to eat and roll silverware even when it's kinda busy. When we walked in around 8pm I could see them all look at us and grumble something in Spanish. We ordered a fried ice cream after our server brought us our bill and he just never came back and the ice cream wasnt on our bill. We had to ask another server to ask him to add it on. Our server was eating at the staff hang-out table and looked over his shoulder at us and didnt look too happy. They literally argued for a couple minutes in spanish and then he finally added it on. But it wasnt even our server who brouhht us our bill; he handed it to the other guy and kept eating. All this makes me not want to spend my money here. I've got to think their time is coming where they just won't have any business. It's looking less and less busy.

OMG, the Chipotle burrito is so delicious! The staff is friendly, & the price I'd very reasonable!

Food is more 2 stars, but it is a step up from Taco Bell. Menu selection is huge and prices are reasonable. There are so many different combinations everything from quesadillas and tacos to chile relleno. It's a fun place for kids as they have games and stuff in another room. Also a sports bar locale for watching the game. There's about 5 TV's in the place. Service earns them more stars as the waiters are friendly, attentive, and fast.

My fiance and I dine here every other month or so, and we always have the same experience: Friendly staff with mind-blowingly "rapido" service and good food. Seriously though, it feels like it takes five minutes from when the waiter takes your order, to having food in front of you. It might even be in their interest to slow down a bit to make more money on drinks, especially since the food is pretty cheap. The menu is over-the-top huge, so be prepared to choose one plate out of a couple hundred. Whatever you end up getting, try to get one with a tamal. Hasta pronto El Rey Azteca.

This is a nice place. The service was very friendly and attentive but the food was just so-so. Food isn't very authentic by any means. Still searching for good mexican food in Minnesota.

We recently moved to the area and I was a little nervous to try this place, Mexican in a strip mall. But I was pleasantly surprised, great service and really good Mexican food. Some of the best margaritas I've ever had, worth a try!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
