I grew up in Mt. Iron and Jue's was my favorite restaurant. The sweet and sour sauce may have changed a little over the years, but is still light years better than most chinese restaurants I've visited. They offer both a lunch and dinner buffet (both much more limited in items than the nearby Old China Buffet, but much tastier.) I really like the pork fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and the chicken wings. The hot mustard is truly an experience. It's a horseradish or wasabi spicy that doesn't heat up your mouth but sneaks up the back of your nose and be forewarned to treat it carefully or you will turn red and start crying. Mixing the sweet and sour sauce with a wasabi size dollop of the hot mustard is the way I like to dip the wontons or eggrolls. If you are nearby and craving american chinese food, go to Jue's and enjoy!

This is good home made Chinese food. The resurant its self is older but I have always had good food and service. I recommend this place for sure.

My mother and I go here for lunch whenever I'm "up north" visiting her. It's our favorite place to eat. The service is good (everyone is very friendly) and the food is good. I usually get the buffet, and I've never had an issue with it. I like it. It's not fancy, it's small but it's good.

We arrived around 8:15 pm and the buffet already closed. For the buffet they were open til 8 pm but the restaurant itself open until 10:00 pm. Their location is in downtown Virginia. I ordered entree with choice of combination of sweet sour chicken with house fried rice, plus a cup of soup and 1 egg rolls. They served me first a water, then a cup of chicken soup, steaming hot. Followed by steaming hot egg roll accompanied by 2 choices of sauce hot mustard which actually wasabi sauce and sweet sour sauce...after waiting for a while here was the entree with the stainless steel lid cover the food. Food was a decent portion. The taste was ok. Definitely will come back when I will be in Virginia area.

Jue's has an old fashioned Chinese Buffet (both lunch & dinner, like previous reviewer Michelle said) with homeade food at a good price, and that's a good thing. I tried pretty much everything, and all the food was good. It would have been nice to see a few more spicy items to pick from, but that's the norm for Chinese food around these parts. Service was good, in a Northern Minnesota kind of way ("he's eating & not complaining, so leave him alone"). They didn't have to ask how the food was, because they eat it. They know it's good. I would recommend this place to a friend, and I would come back again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
