My previous review must have been a really off day for Meister Bar & Grill's staff. After an evening of cocktails and live music downtown Stillwater a friend and I stopped back in to Meister's who serves burgers and other menu options until midnight. Upon arriving we bellied up to the bar and ordered the Meister Burger and deep fried mushrooms and waited with some apprehension. I was a bit nervous cause I love this place. Our food arrived and it was like old times of when I was a kid. The food was PERFECT! The original cook was there and it was sooooo good! Don't let my previous review deter you from trying out Meisters everyone has a bad day. The Burger (Meister Burger) and the deep fried mushrooms were perfect!

Since I don't eat beef, hard for me to review, but I will say if you go, take a trip to the mens room. Black and red shag carpet in the walls and ceiling!

Great neighborhood bar. Really good bar burgers, fried mushrooms, fries. I really like the German burger. Good prices! Fast friendly service. I'll be back.

Well, I am a bit biased. I was born in Stillwater originally. I think the burgermeister is top notch and the fries are ridiculous. Second best burger I have ever eaten. Unless you plan to travel to industrial sectors of Taiwan, this is the best around. Seriously.

Meisters is a small neighborhood bar/restaurant located far enough away from yuppified "downtown" stillwater to be comfortable. The place reminds me of many small towns in wisconsin, where there's a bar/grill in the middle of the block in residential areas. I like the "burger meister" hamburger, lots of crispy chunks of bacon, cheese and fried or raw onions (ok, it's not health food, but it tastes great). The bbq ribs are good also. Grain belt premium in a mug is 1.50 . Great getaway spot from the crapfest in downtown stillwater.

Drink by the Rink App brought us to Meister's in a few minutes from Lily Lake Arena...brrr... Great place! Only cash or check-gotta love that! The owner is an older lady, doesn't want to pay the fees, so plan ahead! We had a couple beers before our hockey game. Kids had chicken strips-good! Wonderful onion rings & mushrooms

Let me begin by saying that everything was served with the utmost congeniality, hot and served promptly. So here's the next part: two regular Meister burgers $6 and an order of fries $5 with tax and an average tip $14... Not a $ meal for two people. If you have company from a long distance- this is the place to show off local customs.... Otherwise there may be other options.

My husband is from Stillwater and he has been telling me for years that we should go get a Meister burger. We went yesterday and had the sweetest little blonde as our waitress and an amazing lunch!!!! Meister burger is amazing!! Thank you!

UPDATE! I've recently been informed that Meister's is no longer on the circuit frequented by roaming bands of brass and percussion musicians originating from the Concord area of Northern California. While this doesn't affect the qualify of Meister brew and/or burgers, this is a travesty nonetheless, as it affects the overall ambiance during late July to August without said touring group on site. You'll just have to read into this what you may.

When we walked into the Meister Bar and Grill my husband said "this is your kind of place". He was right! It is on the small side with a few tables, booths and a smallish bar. Our waitress was charming and adorable. Sorry, but I am a sucker for really good wait staff and she was definitely right up there. The menu is limited, but the two things we ordered were really great. Mine was a chicken sandwich - nice, flavorful, juicy chicken breast cooked to perfection. We split an order of fries which was also really good. Fresh from the fryer and glistening! OK, don't want to hear about how glistening is bad for you. These were hand cut, skin on and I don't care about the glistening part. The décor was German schmaltzy and what's not to like about that? Yes, hubby you were right - this was my kind of place, but, you ended up really liking it too!!

Simple, really good food, in a simple, comforting place. That is all you need to know. If you want to know more here are my thoughts: Beer- They had a good choice of beers given the size of this place. I was impressed with the fact that they not only had craft beer on draft, but a good selection of craft beer. Many places just have that one or two to appease the craft drinker, but they actually made me think for a bit. Food- I had the Meister Burger. A very simple burger that delivers on that simple clean taste. I'm all for elevated pub food, or trying crazy new things, but sometimes you just want a burger and fries. This was that burger and fries. Service- Friendly, with a smile, and attentive to our needs. Atmosphere- Quiet, classic, and clean. The simplicity of this place makes it quite complex.
