Solid. Locally owned...good craft beers on tap...solid burgers...good staff...where else ya gonna go in Shakopee? Applebees is crowded with teenagers and crap beers! Give turtles a try!

Awesome breakfast and Bloody Mary. Omelette was very fluffy and scrumptious. Bloody was nice and spicy. Loved it!

The food is good. But the service is horrible, we waited so long to be seated. The girl who is greeting us (forgot her name) blond long hair was not nice. She seem not to care whether to get us the table or not. Overall, we really like the foods but I fell like we just got robbed with the tips.

Should have stuck with the pizza, instead had the chicken and ribs. The ribs were pretty bad with a generic BBQ sauce, the potatoes were from a box, coleslaw was unbearable an the roll was crusty and nasty. The chicken was the only item that tasted any good and immediately after finishing had a stomach ache. I got home and did not feel well and spent an extended time in the bathroom. My eldest also felt ill and had to take a shower after his toilet bombing turned to the worst (he had the steak sandwich). I've been here once prior and remember the pizza being good but I would stay away from anything else. They do have portable gaming tabs on the tables that are free to use but the after ill effects can't make my review above a 1.

Good local beer selection and amazing wings. Has the local tavern feel and seems to be a hot spot with locals. Bar is spacious and there is ample table seating as well. If your in the area then I'd say it's a win.

First of all - Set your expectations before coming in here. Some of these reviews seemed to have expected a fine dining experience from a downtown family owned "dive" bar. The set-up is definitely odd, but most dive bars do. These guys have great beers on tap and food that hasn't disappointed yet (hand-made burgers are our favorite). It seems a little on the pricey side for the experience, but we still enjoy it. It gets crazy busy on the weekends, so plan accordingly.

Been here way too many times to count!! Great beer, great drinks, good food. Bartenders are very friendly and wonderful but the waiters serving food are horrible every single time... NOT friendly ever! Food comes in a timely manner but it would make the experience better if they would actually smile every once and a while. Then when the bill is given at the end of the meal they always rush you so you'll leave quicker, even if they're not very busy. Recommend getting your food served at the bar even if your meeting a group of friends, its just not pleasant at a regular table EVER!

My wife and I tried Turtles on a whim since we are fairly new residents of Shakopee. We were very disappointed in pretty much every aspect of our visit. The food was not very good. Our server was grumpy. The place is in serious need of cleaning and updating. My wife and I have both said to each other, simultaneously, that we won't be back. The leftovers we had, couldn't stomach much of it, was tossed in the trash bin outside before we got back to our car. If all you want to do is drink at the bar, Turtle's may just be fine for that. But if you're hungry, go elsewhere. Edited to add: I need to add that my wife had a buffalo chicken wrap. She said it tasted like a taco chicken wrap. I tried it. It tasted like they confused Cajun seasoning with taco seasoning. Worst. Wrap. Ever.

Great pizza, that's all I ever have, but everyone is always happy with their food. Lots of families. We like to start here & then go bar hopping down the street.

My wife and I had an awesome chance to be together on a Saturday, which is rare because one of us usually has something going on. We looked in the Entertainment book and saw a 2 for 1 at Turtles and decided to give it a shot. The restaurant is among a bunch of different bars and restaurants and when you walk in it is dark yet friendly. To the right and left are two bars and in the middle are tables with tons of huge TVs hanging on the wall with sports going on. We were seated and I ordered a tall Summit and my wife got a Diet Coke. The menu had a ton of great items on it, I was waxing and waning between a buffalo chicken pizza or a Reuben or a Monte Cristo. My wife ordered a cheeseless pizza with chicken so I went for the Monte Cristo. Usually my favorite! Instead of the fries I went with a dinner salad with blue cheese on the side. The dinner salad was fantastic, just the perfect size and our server brought it out quick. I could have used some more dressing, but that was probably my bad. I had a few pieces of my wife's pizza and it was awesome! The sauce is just spicy enough! Lots of chicken! Great crust. My Monte Cristo was awesome, not fried and greasy, lots of meat and cheese with a raspberry yogurt on the side which was a great condiment. It was sooooo good. The service was fantastic and prices were reasonable, I would have liked to see a cheaper beer, but you can't have everything. A fun Saturday date.

I've lived in Shakopee for 3 years now and I can honestly say the only time I've had a good experience at Turtles was for their weekend breakfast, which has always been delicious (I do miss their Sunday brunch buffet!). For the restaurant, the service is slow, the waitresses are rude, and they've screwed up our orders, given us the wrong bills on more than one occasion. The ONLY reason I go back here is simply because they are the only downtown bar that serves food. The food isn't anything special either. I would recommend their pizza, or a burger if you like lots of grease. As for the bar, the setup is stupid. The bar itself takes up all of the floor space, making it very crowded. The regulars there are not friendly to non-Shakopee natives and their drinks are over priced in comparison to their neighbors. If you are looking to grab a bite and have fun while grabbing a few drinks, I don't recommend this place, look to the other bars down the street.

Why oh why do I keep ordering walleye when I'm in MN? Previously frozen, as most restaurants have, is blah, and this sammich was right on par. Tasty enough but needed something, like purple onions. Great bread it's on. Good fries.

I love Turtles. It's always a fun atmosphere for us 20-somethings even when there are families an kids around. I crave the piping hot chicken tenders and the best ranch dressing around. Turtles is just a great local bar and grill that's great for meeting up with friends to chat, play trivia, watch a UFC fight for the first time and have a good meal. I would recommend to anyone.

If you were making a movie about Minnesota and needed a restaurant that screemed "oh yeah you betcha" this is it. Darn good walleye sandwich but the fried cheese curds are about the worst I've had. Although cheese curds are still pretty good at their worst.

Nothing to write home about, the food is just okay ( you could get better pizza from Papa John's). The staff isn't very friendly, IMO, but they are still employed and comfortable being rude. You don't get to be this rude at a place of employment and the manager/owners don't know about it so that leads me to believe that the owners are onboard with the rude staff. I saw the women bartenders getting #s from patrons and they were all texting on their phones instead of working! I saw two different workers taking pics with cute guys and mentioned "these are going on my face book so I hope you don't have a girlfriend." Really, and my food is served cold, I asked for a manager and told him I would not be paying for this service, he apologized and when I left the waitress was outside smoking & talking on the phone saying how she wanted to beat up this lady who complained about her, so I tapped her on the shoulder and said "well here I am" and she ran back inside! Terrible service!
