Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Went there with my family. No one had heard of pizza ranch. I have been to others. Wonderful fresh, hot food. Staff was great and friendly.

They have pizza, it's barely edible. The fried chicken is actually the best thing they have going for them. Yeah I may be obsessed with pizza, but I'm no snob. A famous person once said, "Pizza is like sex, even when it's bad it's good". But unfortunately the crust at Pizza Ranch is so terrible I would rather eat deep fried chicken. It is a high volume, low cost, all you can eat buffet. Good for families, pig outs, and quick lunches. It reminds me a great deal of the ol' Godfathers Pizza lunch buffet which likely still exists in some area towns. For my money, I much prefer pizza buffet options a few miles away in Eden Prairie. Umbria Pizza and Red's Savoy both offer similar priced but much higher quality. Save yourself from the after meal misery in your gut that is Pizza Ranch. FAR better pizza is nearby. Trust me.

If there is one universal element that guarantees that any kid will eat, it is pizza. As long it has cheese on it, they will eat it without fail. Occasionally from being a parent, my brain goes complete meltdown (happens more than you think) on originality for our dinner plans, this is my personal choice to make them happy. Okay, lets get this out of the way. They serve buffet style. Before you go nuts on me again about my vast amount of buffet reviews, here is the cool thing, your kids can continuing eating flavorless cheese pizzas while you can have your own 'adult' pizza: i.e. Cowboy(all meat) pizza, Hawaiian pizza, salad, or fried chicken. THEY HAVE fried children! A work of a genius here. Sure, you are probably saying that I could take my kids to Chuckie Cheese(CC) instead... Have you EVER been in there? It is one thing to feed them. It is another when your own children are extorting money from you so they can play video games and make that giant Purple RATricher. Furthermore, unless you are a full fledge comatose parent that enjoy listening other children running and screaming at the top of their lungs, CC is considered cruel and unusual punishment for anyone over the age of 14... Look life is not perfect when you are a parent, especially after a long day of driving them around for various activities throughout the week. You are so tired and just want find a place where your crazy off springs can stuff their face so you can have that 5 minutes of semi quiet/peaceful blitz of no arguments. There is such a place - it is called the Pizza Ranch. Your kid will thank you for it, especially your pocket book.

The pizza is probably the worst part about Pizza Ranch. It's not horrible but it's nothing I would crave an d seek out. Basic crust, a little sauce and a little cheese and various toppings. I'd say its comparable to other pizza buffets out there. The cheese bread is pretty good as long as you are lukcy enough to get there at a time when they just put some out and they are not too over-done. The mashed potatoes and gravy are good, though I'd prefer mine with butter. They don't have butter. They have some Churn Spread chemical margarine that I can't stand. I only eat butter. Oh well. The fried chicken makes it all worthwhile. I have never had a white meat piece of chicken that was so tender an juicy ANYWHERE. It is soooo delicious. The other topper for the mean was the cactus bread desert pizza. It kicks Godfather's out of the water, again, assuming they haven't burnt it to a crisp. I'll back again, if not just for the cherry Coke, the chicken an the cactus bread. They were worth it.

Delicious pizza, great salad bar, yummy desserts and kids eat free on Tuesdays. What more could you ask for?

Pizza Ranch is a wonderful place to grab lunch, supper, or delivery anytime. Their buffet has an excellent selection of food from pizza to their famed chicken. It's a great family restaurant and their specialty pizzas are unbelievable. Service continues to be high. During high traffic hours cleanliness takes a hit. A silent vacuum could do wonders during these times.

Tasty buffet! Friendly staff! You can request any pizza for the buffet and they hand deliver it to your table...thats all that needs to be said!

I haven't tried the pizzas so my review is specifically for the fried chicken. If you like fried chicken with little to no batter or flour, this chicken is it. The chicken was a bit too salty for my taste but overall I'd rate the chicken at above average due the meat being flavorful, tender and juicy. I do want to add that the service I received at the Shakopee, MN location was great! I was a little early picking up my food, in the 5 mins I was in there waiting, 3 different employees walked by me and ask if I had been helped. Made my first time experience a great one!

Our first visit to a Pizza Ranch! YUM! My entire family really enjoyed it. I was actually surprised at the juiciness of the chicken! Very good! Wish there was a location closer to our home.

When Pizza Ranch first opened in Shakopee in 2012 it was incredibly busy and even difficult to find a parking spot. The employees were friendly and helpful, offering to bring you your favorite pizza if you didn't see it in the buffet. In my opinion the pizza has always been just slightly above average but we enjoyed the variety as well as the fried chicken and cactus bread that they offered. Tonight's visit was in stark contrast to what it used to be not so long ago. Although the food was pretty much the same as it had been before, the thing that stuck out most to us was the condition of the dining room. There were dirty plates stacked on many of the tables (the table next to us had nine dirty plates until five minutes before we left) and the floors were filthy. We even saw a chicken bone on the carpet! None of the tables had napkins and the general energy of the employees was low. I saw two employees (one appearing to be a supervisor in a different colored shirt) leaning up against a wall at the buffet chatting despite the obvious work to be done. My husband had made a fitting comment to me of "if this is the condition of the dining room, that they let the public see, what is the condition of the back of house? Makes you not want to eat here."

Ordered 13 large pizzas and sodas to feed testing crew at a construction site. Pizzas arrived piping hot and when promised (40 minutes). Order was correct and the team LOVED them! Thanks so much!

Great place that satisfies everyone...we go Tuesday night's when kids eat free...service is one of best in town...love the fried chicken!!! Definitely recommend for families!

Our favorite pizza in Shakopee! Great fried chicken too. We usually take it home, but have also done the buffet a few times. Their buffet options include many different pizza options, and you can also take requests, and then will bring the pizza to your table when made. The lines can get a little long, especially on Fri and Sat nights, and this isn't the cheapest place in town, but it is well worth the wait and a few extra bucks.

My first here was my last time here! I walked in , paid for buffer dinner and when I turned my head to see the food , all I saw was dirt everywhere. There was no food-people were standing around waiting for food - very dirty tables, very messy where the food was and when the kitchen door swung open ... Oh my my their floor was dirty! Food everywhere. So we walked back to the font and got our money back. Sad day
