Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Too pushy. She got my order completely wrong & didn't pay attention to fix it. I couldn't even explain to the check out lady what my meal was cause I don't even know what's on it. And my lemonade tastes like water. Terrible!

I love Chipotle and this location is within walking distance of my home. We only come in here when desperate as its by far the worst Chipotle I've ever been to, consistently. Long lines, staff is nearly hostile and they're always out of something critical like.... Cilantro, black beans, etc. We actually place bets on what they'll be out of when we walk in. I don't know what the issue is here but I really hope Corporate puts a laser focus on this particular location soon. It's sad.

Fantastic!!!. I love the chicken burritos and Hot salsa, sour cream, black beans, and cheese. Also buy the side order of chips and guacamole. I buy 2 burritos so I have leftovers for the next day. The chicken is cooked very tender and awesome smoked flavor. the best burrito in Shakopee for sure!!

Leaving one star for me is honestly a hard thing to do. Chipotle is my go to spot for lunch during the week. I usually eat there 2-3 times a week. It had been a year or so since I had been to the Shakopee location. I stopped in last week with a few friends before heading to the range and it was a terrible experience to say the least. As I was in line I was asked by three different employees if they could have free RedBull and one even was a prick enough to say "where is my redbull" (I drove an event vehicle to here) I had my younger cousins behind me and they did not even bother to take their order so I had to order for them. To top it off the food itself was no where near up to par. Both carnitas and lettuce where soaking wet as well as the salad dressing had a taste that was worth taking a trip to the trash can. This location gives an amazing company a bad name.

I really love chipotle. Fresh food, quick, delicious. But this location is awful. They are always out of food. This last time I went they were out of fajita veggies, barbacoa, and lettuce. On top of that it was a good 5-8 minutes before anyone even waited on me. Last, but not least, I got to my car, looked down, and the girl behind the counter did not seal my burrito bowl all the way. Burrito bowl juice all over my car. Major fail, Chipotle.

I absolutely love Chipotle, but this particular location is particularly troublesome. 3/4 times that I go, I have to wait for something to be cooked. When you have a max of maybe 12 ingredients, you'd think something should ALWAYS be cooking. They almost never have fajita veggies, and when they have a fresh batch, it's seriously like the tiniest amount, so they're out again after 3 orders. They just don't know how to properly maintain the food levels.

I love Chipotle, what can I say. I can harp on about the benefits of veganism, the joys of juicing, and how much better I feel when I eat super clean, organic, sustainable crap (all of which is true, by the way), but the bottom line is that I absolutely love Chipotle. This outlet is no exception. A couple of ground rules to have the proper experience: -If someone is in the bathroom for more than 3 minutes, don't use it after them. Find alternate means. Think Walmart across the way, or, if you can, race home. -The hot sauce is never, and will never be, sanitary, or appetizing. A true connoisseur brings that stuff from home, anyway. -Be specific about your quantities when you're creating your ultimate feast. One ingredient generally means one huge, gloppy spoonful. Curtail this if you care about cleanliness, portion control, and sanitation. -You've been cross contaminated. Period. It's the nature of the Chipotle game. It's a popular location, so know that dining hours will probably mean strained parking, and a bit of a "queue" if we want to be British. Belt up your hot sauce, put on your boots, and head on over to the Shakopee Chipotle for a delicious lunch (and, possibly dinner, if you economize your taco servings).

This location is a joke. Total waste of your time!!! "Sometimes" they seem to have plenty of staff but the wait is excruciating! Been to other Chipotle's with long lines but they go fast! Management needs to get in check or something! People have figured out calling ahead is better to avoid the long wait- but only affects the people waiting in line because phone orders get priority. I've waited 10min before just for them to fill a phone order- a lot of angry people in these lines! The food isn't as good as other places too- mostly cold. We gave this place too many chances and now we've agreed WE ARE DONE here! Willing to drive 20min to the Burnsville location vs this one! Even choosing Qdoba over this location! Wish this place the best though.

My wife offered to pick up dinner for me and our son (12). We live 6 miles away. 1 person in the line when she arrived. The steak bowl I ordered was piled together, which I don't mind but the steak was colder than all other ingredients!! I'm quite sure the warmer was never on or they never heated the steak. Other bowl (barbacoa) meat was warm at least and sons meal was a cheese quesadilla with chips and quacamole. Kind of hard to mess that up? I've given them a fair share of chances over the years. I will opt for any other Mexican joint in the future. Taco Bell? Taco Johns?

Like everyone else said, usually love Chipotle but this location was bad. Not the usual flavor you get at every other chipotle. Bit into a chunk of undercooked fatty meat and immediately lost my appetite. Please, no matter how much you want some Chipotle don't go to this location. Someone higher on the ladder needs to go to this location and figure out what they're doing wrong and fix it or just shut it down.

Worst chipotle location we've ever been to. This was our second time at this location. Similar experience the first time, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Unbelievably slow service, only ten people in line ahead of us and we stood in line for 30 mins. Staff completely lacked any urgency whatsoever. Staff exhibited zero enthusiasm. My steak was cold. Wife's chicken was cold. The guac tasted strange. Steer clear. Will not return to this location.

Normally I LOVE chipotle, but I avoid this location if I can! The service is extremely slow which is weird because normally they're fast at chipotle...not here! Every time I've been to this location I wait forever, even with just a few people in front of me. On top of that, the chicken usually has a bunch of fat and gristle in it - it's disgusting. It's a bummer because this location is close to where I live, so I have to drive out of my way to a further one if I want a decent burrito with fast service.

Love the food, hate the service at this location! Always a line out the door because they don't know how to process customer orders. Latest event was waiting in line for 30 minutes while people complained because they quit taking walk in orders so they could work on call in/internet orders. Asked manager what was up, and he said come back and help if you don't like it. So sad. Time for a new Manager at this location and a revamp of how they take and process orders. Maybe build online/call in orders in back like other restaurants do it.

I absolutely love Chipotle, however this particular location has changed over the past few years. In the beginning their was great service, generous portions, quick and easy ordering from start to finish. Now the lines are long, slow service, small portions and usually out of something. Today's trip consisted of rare steak that I had to nuke as soon as I got home. Hoping this review will contribute to getting much needed improvement to this location so I can continue to come back with the great experience I once used to get.

This is a tough one for me... I LOVE Chipotle, but this location seems to constantly disappoint me. There is always a LONG line (to the door!) that moves quite slowly. The staff is kind, but they seem to either mess up my order or bill me improperly each visit I make to this Chipotle. In our most recent visit, my husband and I had quite the wait for our food - which we didn't mind as we weren't in a rush. There were only two people working behind the counter, serving, even though it was a busy Friday evening. Once we ordered, I paid and upon paying realized I was mis-charged for our food (over charged, quite a bit). So, I immediately told the cashier that the total was in correct. She was very polite, apologized and grabbed one of the people working behind the counter. I could feel the ugly looks and annoyance from the crowd waiting in line for their coveted burrito. It took the supervisor a good five minutes to figure out how to give a refund... And when she did, she still shorted me on the refund amount! I pointed out the incorrect amount to the supervisor and told her I didn't want to take more time to deal with the incorrect charge, but they should be aware that they did not rectify the situation properly. I will probably stop through this Chipotle in the future - in hopes for a better visit.... and mostly to get my fix, but I sure hope they step up their game! Or, I will be driving to the Burnsville Chipotle location for their consistency and much quicker service.

Love the food but just bad.

Chipotle, why can't I quit you? Is it because you have ridiculously sumptuous burritos? Maybe. Is it because my kids can't get enough of your quesadillas and cilantro-lime rice? Possibly. Is it because I can get a fantastic, gut-bomb meal that takes me to a higher plane? Sure, why not. The truth is, there is a reason why the Chipotle chain has exploded in the past decade. The food is fresh, delicious and plentiful. First timers, go for the following combination: chicken burrito, black beans, rice, hot sauce (is there any other kind?) with plenty of cheese and lettuce (adding lettuce makes it healthy right?). The kids meals come with a darling little bag of chips and there are lots of psuedo-healthy drinks like Izze soda. My only complaint is they try to push their healthy image a little too hard considering a fully loaded burrito is pushing 1200 calories. But they are some of the best tasting calories you can get from a fast food joint. The people at this Shakopee location are generally pretty awesome. If I had a terminal illness I would eat here every single day.

Very disappointed. I love Chipotle. Used to eat at this location 2 to 3 times a week. On my last visit a couple of weeks ago I had to wait more than 30 minutes to get my food with about 10 people in line ahead of me. That's not normal for Chipotle. Two people working the line, slower than molasses. After all that, they forgot to give me my chips! I will not visit this location again. I'll go to Burnsville or Eden Prairie when I'm in the neighborhood, for my fix.
