Just stopped back for a third time. I love this place for its friendly barkeeps, chill atmosphere, good music, and the best organic brew in the city. I usually love the dark heavy brews but have started to branch out into some "lighter" beers. I tried the King Copper Mild this time and found a new favorite. Lighter but it still had body and flavor that was out of this world. I also like that fact that they keep the alcohol level in the upper 4's with a few in the 6-7 range. This allows you to have a few and still pedal home safely ;-). I will be back again and again.....

Bang Brewing differentiates itself from other taprooms in the Twin Cities. It is in a unique building, the owners are always present (it's a mom and pop), it isn't as crowded as others, you don't feel like you are sitting in the hops tank like at Bauhaus or others like it. All the beers have four letter names (not those four letters). The Boss is a really good IPA and everyone seemed to be enjoying the variety of beers. I started out at Urban Growler, and some of the patrons and wait staff were dissin' on Bang to the point that I wasn't sure I'd go - but I was glad I didn't listen and went! They do not have food - but Urban Growler next door does

When I discovered that there was a brewery inside a silo in St. Paul, I knew I had to make my way there during my meticulously planned Minnesota vacation. I verified their hours of operation by contacting Bang Brewing directly via Twitter (I found conflicting information between Facebook, Yelp and their blog) and made it part of our Friday itinerary. Yes, I thought just the concept of a brewery in a silo was cool. Bang Brewing produces "organic ales" - and yes, I'll admit to rolling my eyes at that. But my friend and I arrived just after they opened and happy grabbed two of the few seats at the roll-away bar inside. They do a lot in such a small space and they have a lot to be proud of. I ordered some "half pours" since flights were not offered and I wanted to try a few of their beers. I enjoyed the King (American Pale Wheat Ale) and Time (Strong Ale). The Nice Coffee (Dark Ale infused with cold press coffee) was by my favorite. Each beer had its own beautiful color and flavorful taste. I would gladly give Bang Brewing 5 stars if not for the very limited hours. I was on vacation so my schedule was more flexible. They also have limited seating but on a nice day there are several tables outside if you're there to have a pint and chill with some friends. The small bar inside is better for conversing with the brewers themselves. There are some great beers to be had here, but my suggestion is find a favorite or two and get a growler to go.

Wanting to try a new-to-us place for a post-work Friday beer, my guy and I decided to finally check out Bang Brewing. I used to live in the neighborhood but somehow never made it over to the silo...granted, it's off the beaten path and is not the kind of place you're likely to simply stumble across. Once you do find your way there, however, look for the cold-press/Dark Ale combo and try it out...very concentrated bit of cold press topped with their "Nice" brew. They offer half-pint pours of the various beer offerings so between the two of us, we were able to try everything they had that day - and this combo was what stood out most. We lucked out in that it turned out to be a nice day because the bar is very small and there isn't a ton of seating inside, but folks hung out in the sunshine and took advantage of the outdoor space so it only occasionally felt cramped. What else...oh, in addition to the fairly standard food-truck-at-a-brewery shtick, they also had a sign indicating the availability of pork rinds from Ngon's Bistro. I did not partake, but it's worth mentioning. Anyway, the folks working were nice and it's a cool little space worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood. They're only open Friday nights and Saturday afternoon/evening so be sure to plan ahead!

If you're trying to hit all the local taprooms in the TC, well then you have to go to Bang. The owner who was behind the bar was a prick. I asked him something like "what's good here" or "what's your favorite", pretty much just recommend something and I'll buy it. His snide response was "the beer" to which he then looked over at an older local and laughed. Really, dude? I should have walked out right then and gone to Urban Growler next door. Don't give me an attitude for being a patron in your silo that's open two days a week. Ended up getting the Nice, I think it was called, infused with cold pressed coffee. Pretty tasty. I think all the beer here is organic which I like. But nothing too creative and above average prices. I'm only giving it three stars because the beer was good and we met a really nice couple outside on the "patio" that we ended up having a long conversation with. Other than that, go to urban growler if you're in the area instead, you can actually sit at a bar and order food and be around more than a few people at a time. Cool concept with the organic beer in a silo, but rude owner and lack of any wow factor beer will keep me from coming back.

This place is pretty awesome. Tucked away in an industrial corner of the 280 neighborhood of St Paul. They pride themselves on organic and sometimes vegan beers! Very cool spot and very cool folks!

Are you kidding? What's there to review? If you like beer you'll LOVE this place. Local, organic, beer all in a grain bin.

Not all of the new breweries in town have good beer. I loved this brewery. The beer here was delicious. The venue was fabulous. I rate this brewery as one of the best in cities. Visit soon, you will be happy you did.

The trip to this area took me back to my childhood of visiting a nearby park. I like that area and am glad to have visited it again, especially to try some new brews from a new brewery! There seems to be an almost complete lack of social media for Bang. A basic website tells the hours of the taproom. That was enough for me to try and get there. (follow them on Twitter for updates @bangbrewing) The grain bin is unique on the block. It's a good thing too, since we didn't see any Bang Brewery signs (even on the grain bin itself). Although it was dark and snowing when we got there. It was obvious we were in the right place. I was quite impressed with the place and how they managed to fit all the equipment in there. It was a sharp looking place with an innovative feel to it. Onto the beers! There were 2 beers on tap, an amber and an IPA. Again, there was something missing on the inside. There was no mention of the types of beers that were on tap. I was expecting a sign above the bar and it looks like it may have been a perfect spot for it too, but it was missing. Again, it may be that they are too new to have all of this in place. The amber was malty and smooth, but nothing to distinguish it as an above normal beer. The IPA was slightly better with more bittering and hops flavor. I grabbed a growler of that before I went along my way. The cap said NEAT so I'm guessing that's what it's called. The people there are friendly and it's obviously one of the breweries to keep an eye on in the future as they ramp up production and brew new beers.

Service: Great Speed: Great Prices: Great This is a great place to spend time at. When it warms up they have outdoor seating as well. It's clear that the owners are extremely passionate about what they have created. They don't serve food, and I hope they never do. Stick with what you rock out at!

Really cool taproom. Nice and small and unique feel to it. Only tried a few beers but their Neat and Nice beers are outstanding. Definitely interested in trying some more of their offerings. Good job guys.

Jay and Sandy have built a very special tap room here. A cozy space inside flows into the patio (made up of lumber from the old Boardwalk near Mill City). In and out, delicious, high quality and mostly organic beers pour from the taps. The attention to detail, from the taps themselves to the layout and lighting are sure to provide an enjoyable afternoon, one that you can continue at home with a growler or two.

Two of the nicest/friendliest owners I've ever met on a brewery. Their beers are all organic and they have a beautiful philosophy of brewing. They make very solid beers and their brewery has a very chill atmosphere. Love visiting here.

The grain silo is a cool touch to the area. The owners were very nice and welcoming. The crowd had a yupi snobby feel. They gave large samples but the beer was poor at best and they only have 2 choices. Hopefully with time it will improve. Growler price was above $20, they are not comparable in quality to a Indeed or Dangerous Man which is worth that price point.

First off, I love local breweries and love what they are about. I'm like many Twin Cities folks and truly love all what is happening with the tap room boom. Like many others have mentioned here.... without knowing to look for a silo, it's impossible to find. My first time driving in that area, I had heard about a brewery and had the address? I did not know it was in a silo. I drove through the parking lot many times and serious could not figure out where it was. The address: 2320 is made out of license plate frames very tiny on the side of the building.... No signage of the actual brewery. And yes - website is poor, facebook page is poor/non existent. Inside - love the idea about the tasting room/tap room/work floor. However, I understand the multi use area, but another high table so people can socialize with other people would be great. Having spots for 6 people at the bar sucks if you're person #7 that wants to come in and belly up to the bar? Grabbing a chair from the stack and putting it around another small table just isn't exactly what I want to do. It's as simple as put in another rolling pub table/standing table - to create conversations with other beer drinkers.... Beer is good / $6 pints?? - 3 beers on tap, but no mention of the "combos" they are something that needs to be "advertised" The Minn-Nice / combo of two of them.... really good, but would not have tried it if I wasn't talking to others at the brewery - (2nd rolling pub table to increase this) However - my BIGGEST complaint, after growing up in the restaurant business for 20 years... was the washing of the glasses.... It's a standard 3 sink washing station: Dish Soap - Hot Water rinse - Sanitizing water But... the women on Friday night was doing it wrong. She washed in the first sink, held the glass by putting 1 finger on the rim of the glass / dipped into the 1st rinse with the finger on the rim, then dipped into the final rinse with the finger still on the room. Basically never letting her finger off the rim of the glass? I'm not a germ a phobe / however I kinda want a properly sanitized glass. It's a simple mistake, but a simple fix.... hopefully in writing this, they'll change this.

Hidden away in an industrial section of St. Anthony Park, Bang is going after the absolute essence of the tap room - drinking delicious beer, surrounded by the gleaming means of its production, with only a few streaming tunes for ambience. The people are friendly and every detail is right.

Finally stopped in yesterday! I had a pint of the mild ale, Minn. Was very good, and not too pricey at $6. Little joint with a few chairs...so be prepared to stand. Nice owner and a cute little place. Looking forward to another beer here in the future! Cheers!!
