My coworkers and I like coming here for their $25 All you can Eat dinner special. The sushi is always great and I can say that because I think I've actually tried all the rolls on the menu. The other items on the menu are awesome too! My favorite non-sushi items are the shrimp tempura, the dumplings and the green tea ice cream. The service is a little spotty (they forget to bring out some items sometimes) and impersonal but I'll take it for the value and quality of the food I'm getting. It is a very relaxed setting so a good place to come to if you just want to eat and chill with friends.

Not too good unfortunately. I usually judge things based on overall performance but their food was horrible. I found hair in my ramen, Curry chicken tasted rubbery, fried rice was pre-made and heated up (I asked and they verified all the fried rice is pre-made), and you cannot ask for custom sushi rolls. I gave a star for the 15% discount they gave (they should've given it to my party of 18 but the manager was being ignorant) and the 2nd star came from a patient waitress. Thanks

Decent sushi - great price - average service Honestly how can you go wrong when all you can eat sushi is as good as this is! The fish isn't super fresh or high quality, but we're in Minnesota people! Perfect sushi doesn't exist here and the closest we've got costs an arm and a leg! I've been here many times. It has super cheesy decor and the service is alright most times. Working at an all you can eat place that's table service would be very difficult so I tend to give them a break and tip them extra well anyways. (And you should too) Lunch on weekdays is 15 dollars! That's insane for unlimited sushi, eat 2 fancy rolls and you've already gotten your money's worth! Although the service is average and the sushi isn't perfect, this place gets 5 stars because it's a ridiculous deal. Even 25 dollars for dinner on a weekend is insane for sushi! They also serve a normal menu if you're not into all you can eat. It can get very busy on nights and weekends so prepare for a wait. Then sit down and eat sushi until they have to roll you out the door! Yumm.

I had the all-you-can-eat dinner menu. It's a place where you get what you pay for, but $24.95 for all-you-can-eat isn't a bad deal at all. Nothing was particularly impressive, but the service was quick and everything was well, good enough. If you're looking to binge eat your way into a sushi coma in public, this is definitely the place for it.

Kyoto Sushi is tasty, and while it's not the high-end or sophisticated sushi one would typically look for in a night out it's friggin ALL YOU CAN EAT. But not terrible buffet bs. It's all made to order and their approach is hilarious. Everything on the menu is smaller portions, and while you can order as much as you want they'll charge you for excessive leftovers. Kyoto is solid. I would have given them 3 stars for the food, and the service is typically on the slow side, but the all you can eat approach bumps it up to 4 stars for me. p.s. They have a nominal up charge for soy paper on sushi rolls - it's only 75cents. Go nuts.

Kyoto Sushi in Roseville is a good choice if you are very hungry and want to try all kinds of new things that you ordinarily wouldn't try at a regular sushi restaurant for fear of not liking it. The service has been a hit or miss, sometimes it's fantastic and sometimes it's a bit slow. Decor is beautiful and dimly lit, with nice large cozy booths. I find myself coming back here more often than I thought I would, because it's on my commute home and sometimes I just need a little feast. The All you can Eat dinner is $25 per person. I've gone out for dinner here 3 times and this is what I like to order: Vegetable Salad - with ginger dressing Miso Soup - very tasty Several orders of Shrimp Tempura - very crispy, hot and fresh Potato Tempura Deep Fried Scallops with spicy mayo Volcano Roll - shrimp tempura, cucumber with spicy tuna on top. A lot of fish. Philadelphia Roll - in love with this one. Salmon, avocado and cream cheese, a classic and always delicious! Tempura Roll - We order at least two of these. Shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, cream cheese, deep fried tempura battered. WOW. Arrives almost too hot to eat, allow to cool before inhaling. #9 Roll - a delicious mountain of shrimp tempura, salmon and avocado on top, drizzled with some spicy mayo. Have I mentioned the Sake happy hour? No? It's amazing. Ki - Ippon Dry Sake (served warm) for 30% off, from 4:30-6pm. It works out to be $3.85 for a nicely sized jug. Also, if you do the All you can Eat, you should definitely get the Green Tea Ice-Cream. It cleanses the palate perfectly, and is sweet and creamy. I find myself craving the Green Tea Ice-Cream just by itself because it's so damn good.

Super satisfied! The service was great and the food was as well. Make sure to come in with a big appetite to get the most out of your money. Make sure to try the veggie fried ride and the dynamite roll. Those were my two favorite.

I am very surprised that the Roseville location actually has a 4 star rating?? Few things: 1. Sometimes the salmon/surf clam/etc sashimi comes out being still frozen - like it's not all the way thawed yet. When you bite into it, it is still tough, and you can definitely tell that it is icy. 2. Also, I have always been wondering why the salmon sashimi here doesn't taste as good as the location in Eagan. I have actually been told by a friend that cuts of salmon sashimi that are served at the Roseville location are usually the leftover parts of the salmon while the salmon at Eagan are cuts from the salmon's belly, which is fattier. Eagan serves much bigger and fattier slices as well. 3. Service is terrible - we never get the correct things/amount what we ordered. The service in Eagan is much better as well. I am wondering if it's because a lot of college students go to the Roseville location, and thus, they don't care much about servicing college students? 4. The Roseville location usually bring out a small bowl when you order ramen, udon, and etc. while the Eagan location bring out full sizes. This doesn't really matter to me but may be useful to others. Overall, it's a decent value for all you can eat. I usually come here if I have cravings for salmon sashimi since ordering like 30 pieces at a regular sushi restaurant would probably cost me a fortune.

Great menu -- plus all you can eat Sushi for cheap. Pleasant ambiance. In MSP on business and this was recommended. After a hard day at work, it was nice to unwind around a friendly crowd with an adult beverage in one hand and chopsticks in the other!

This is an adequate place to go to if you're craving sushi. The buffet prices are worth it if you eat a lot or go in a group. Lunch menu is a bit limited though. Quality of of the sushi is fine. Slices are a little thinner than I expected. Maki rolls were average and typical, nothing stood out, really. The rice also didn't feel as fresh. Miso was okay too. The shrimp, scallop, and mushroom tempura was good. They come in small quantities though except for the shrimp, I think there were four. Udon and other dishes come in small sizes, almost a la carte style. The udon was average. The curry chicken was a little too salty but it was still okay. Service was great though; we were seated soon and our server happened to be there every time we ordered more food. The lighting was a little too dim for my liking though, since the walls were so high it felt a little out of ambiance. Overall, it's a decent joint to fix your sushi crave but it's not anything special. I could see myself coming here again because of the buffet deals.
(3)Angelica L.
The price is very reasonable, if you are very craving for sushi. The dishes are lack of finesse. Sashimi is thickly cut, and cut in the wrong direction. All I can taste from the rolls is the sauce. Don't really like the way they make rolls. Even it is buffet, there is a lot of ordinary Japanese cuisine that I wanted but they did not offer. For example, grilled eel. And they do not take special order. I would not visit again, probably.
(3)Vy B.
Decent sushi for a great price. This is an all you can eat sushi place so you definitely get your moneys worth unless you go in and only order edamame. They rarely have hamachi cama in stock or the surf clams, but when they do, it is an amazing experience to be able to have endless amounts at your disposal. Call ahead if those two are the only reasons you are heading over to Kyoto just to make sure. They are very fast to take your order there and the food comes out quick. Go with big groups so you can try out more food items. They charge a wasting fee so if you go with a lot of people you can try more and eat less so you don't' get full as fast. I think the dinner price is around $25 and lunch is maybe $14? The best deal though is during dinner time because they offer the full menu to include surf clams, soft shell crab, and special rolls. Love: snow mountain roll, flying fish salad, surf clams, chicken wings, shrimp tempura rolls, shrimp tempura, green tea ice cream, red bean ice cream, spicy udon soup with no veggies, teriyaki salmon, teriyaki beef, deep fried tofu Loathe: edamame, ramen, don buri bowls (too much rice), cone rolls - i have no idea what these are but they have no flavor whatsoever Tip: don't fill yourself up on sushi rolls because their other menu items are delicious and worth trying. This is the perfect place to try out new foods you may not have ordered at other japanese restaurants because of the price or fear of hating.

Went to Kyoto yesterday with my brothers and some of their friends. The waitress was very friendly, the vibe was nice and mellow. The food was great! Love the sexy girl roll. Good price for good food! Definitely recommend!
(5)Victoria L.
This is definitely my go-to place when I want sushi. It's a relatively reasonable price for an all-you-can-eat sushi place. Also, there's not many in Minnesota and this one being the best there is. Their fishes are fresh and also their rolls are amazing. I definitely recommend coming here if you love to eat a lot of sushi and don't want to break the bank.

Since I live in BFE any trip to the cities becomes a crusade to find a decent bowl of tantanmen. Since I had to be in the area to do some other shopping I fired up Yelp and looked for 'Japanese' near 'Roseville' and this place came up. My hopes where high so the letdown was immense when tantanmen wasn't on the menu. The all you can eat sushi (and everything else on the menu) was a nice surprise. I met a friend from work there and my daughter tagged along as well. I had beef ramen, various sushi and stole random rolls from my daughter and friend. When it comes to grabbing a quick bite to eat my yardstick is usually 'is it better than what I could do at home in the time it takes to go and eat'. The answer here is a definite yes. Everything was pretty solid. Family Mart Bento's come to mind as comparison. Service was great from the girl that seated us to the kid that waited our table. Friendly and attentive. I tasked the kid that waited out table to 'surprise us' . He ran with it and brought out various rolls and sushi each time asking what we liked most and if we wanted something different or the same. Kyoto had a very friendly and welcoming vibe. Sushi Kanesaka it is not. The combination of price, food and vibe does make for a great place to hang out for a bit, grab a beer and something to eat for under $20. 5*'s for knowing what they wanted to do and doing it very well.

My friend and I came here after work and had their all you can each sushi. It was great. I had only eaten sushi a handful of times and hadn't tried as many varieties. I finally got to try a whole bunch of different styles of rolls, meats rice combo and more. Super happy and the service was awesome. We are definitely stopping here again soon!
(5)Michelle T.
Their quality of sushi is obviously not the greatest out there, but I love their lunch prices for their All-you-can-eat menu which is $17 after taxes. What makes up for their low quality of sushi, is their other assorted food on their menus such as miso soup, dumplings, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, chicken wings, assorted tempura, udon soups, fried udon, etc! What I don't like about this particular Kyoto location is that their beef teriyaki is very dry compared to the other Kyoto locations. But I do love their snow mountain roll! My boyfriend loves their salmon teriyaki. Overall, Kyoto is the go-to place for sushi especially for college students that are nearby for a great all you can eat lunch deal!
(4)Marty B.
I'll start by saying that Kyoto has exceeded my expectations. Being that it is an all you can eat sushi restaurant, I was a little skeptical about the taste and quality of the food, but the food here is excellent! Kyoto has some great starters like the seafood fried rice, edamame, or chicken wings which are still covered in the cost of the all you can eat. The sushi rolls and hand rolls here are also wonderful, with a great variety. When you're done eating all of the sushi you can eat, they even have some tasty green tea or red bean ice cream. I would recommend going during lunch, as it is much cheaper.

Took my son, daughter and wife here for his birthday. The wait was about 20 mins. Got seated and greated with a smile and drink orders. We opt for the buffet(isn't that what everyone here for). Shortly after our first order was put in. It took about 8 to 10 mins for our first order. The rolls, seafood fried rice, udon noodle, beef/salmon teriyaki, 6 octopus sushi and many more. All of the food tasted great and fresh. They service here is great, nice/attentive wait staff. The food comes out in a timely fashion. Everyone leave full and happy. What else could anybody ask for? Will definitely go again but my sushi Crabbe won't be for another month or so.

Went for dinner last night and it was fantastic! We've been going for years and this is the first time I'm writing a review. The all you can eat is great because you can always try a variety of different items and can experiment with new things without worrying that the cost will be too much for that one roll of sushi or sashimi or whatever. Eat as much as you can and enjoy a pallet cleansing ice cream on the way out! And you can bring the kids! They have great noodles or fried rice. Not to mention teriyaki! You pay by age of the child.

I have two problems with this place: 1. $25/person for a vegetarian buffet is a complete rip off. The vegetarian options are few and very basic. I can understand charging $25/person for all you can eat sushi and fish items are pricey, but come on...$25 for sticky rice, tempura vegetables and avocados? 2. Horrible customer service. I went there on my birthday and specifically said we did not want to be seated near the bar. After waiting 20 minutes, the airhead hostess takes us to a booth- RIGHT NEXT TO THE BAR. I again stated that I did not want my children to be around the smell of alcohol- and the rowdy men sitting at the bar watching the football game. She looked annoyed and told us we would have to wait. Another 20 minutes went by. Another booth opened up but no one seated us, so we seated ourselves. A nasty, rude woman approached us and told us to get up so she could clean the table. She had just cleaned it, we saw her clean it. The nasty, rude woman was both the table cleaner and our waitress- and I didn't see her wash her hands in between. She was nasty and rude the entire night to us and ruined my birthday dinner.

We went for lunch buffet and ordered rainbow roll and sex girl roll, I didn't like the rainbow roll that much just because I don't like raw salmon. The shrimp tempura, green tea ice cream and salmon teriyaki are super good! If you go at dinner buffet, the seaweed salad is awesome!!!
(5)J N.
Worst customer service ever! You'd think with three hostess at least one would know how to work her job! We had reservations for 9:00pm and it took them almost 40 minutes to seat us!! What is the point of getting a reservation?! They even told us when we came in that our "table was getting clean." 40 minutes AFTER our reservations. HORRIBLE.

Two visits ago, I would have given Kyoto one or two more stars. Today's visit and the last time before today, things went down hill. I love AYCE sushi as it is satisfying and cost efficient. However, I am not willing to trade quality for price all that much. First time here, I was a happy camper. Service was less than stellar but sushi was decent and price wasn't bad for lunch. $15.99 and I could eat till I drop? Hell yeah. Plus, the limited menu is pretty unlimited. I was shocked of all the selections on the menu that first time. You can order more things than just sushi - teriyaki, ramen, donburi, all kinds! The sushi selections are standard, not the fancy big artsy rolls you can find at expensive sushi joints. However, they still offer several specialty rolls. I give them credits for that. We ordered salmon teriyaki several times because my friend likes it. It's paper thin. Obviously, they can't give you a normal size due to the cost per person. Don't even bother to order the ramen. I did, and it wasn't ramen. It was ramen noodle maybe with flavorless broth. Save the space for more worthy food on the menu. This last visit really made me change my mind. My unagi roll should be called cucumber roll because it was like playing where's waldo dressed as unagi in a big labyrinth of cucumber and rice. The same thing with some salmon roll we ordered. The only thing that came in abundance was fake crab stick and chopped fish. I get it, it's AYCE at $15.99...but come on..if you can't sustain it, do something. No--putting a very small amount of unagi in an unagi roll was not the action you should have taken! Then, change the name to where's waldo roll --cucumber roll garnished with fragments of unagi. I'd rather pay more than eating bunch of carb and cucumber for $15.99. Plus, the service today was worse than the normal bad. Our waitress was actually decent in taking order, but every time the food came, they placed it at the other end of the table instead of in front of us. Why??? I didn't get it. Then, at the end, the somewhat decent waitress asked me if I was done with the check and oh, she just had to pick it up right then and couldn't wait until we get up and leave in a couple minutes. I said to her that it was all set. She picked it up and said "ok." Ok??? What about "thanks"?? Yeah, two stars for now. Wow me next time maybe I will change my mind. If there's a next time, that is.
(2)Koni N.
Sushi is amazing. The tempura roll is my favorite. It's the roll with salmon and cream cheese in the middle and then whole roll gets deep fried! Ramen isn't too bad. I probably wouldn't get it again. Lots of parking space. Pricing is ok. I think a little high but most sushi is expensive.
(5)MaiKa V.
This place is pretty good, I've gone here a few times and I can't complain. The service was wonderful, the people working here are Very attentive and all the food was made fresh. I've had the buffet style and regular menu. I would recommend this place and go here again.
(4)Kara D.
I have eaten here on two occasions: weeknight dinner dine-in and weekday lunch take-out. For dinner, we opted for the all-you-can-eat option. The menu was pretty diverse with options, but not super impressive. It was an amazing value, but I think you also get what you pay for. Most of the sushi rolls were crab-stick (not even real crab, as you may know), shrimp, or some sort of fried tempura based. Now I wouldn't expect an array of exotic raw fish for this price, but the sushi just met expectations. I tried this "Sushi pizza" type appetizer, which I did not enjoy. It was a warm fried mess, and if I'm going to eat sushi it will be light and fresh tasting. I also did not like the fried scallops - I'm pretty sure they were not real scallops. The texture and taste did not resemble scallop but imitation seafood. Again, great value for the low price, but it wasn't sushi that I would hold above the rest. When I came here during lunch hour for take-out, they were super friendly and provided quick service. I ordered two rolls, paid, and they were out within 5 minutes. I got salmon rolls which were simple but delicious, and they didn't skimp on the fish. I applaud them for that!
(3)Pamela B.
I DO know good sushi and I chose to eat at this place because we were craving sushi and we did not have the time to drive 30 miles to our favorite place. We got there shortly after they opened and I am glad we did. By the time we left an hour or so later there was a line nearly out the door! Wow. No wonder they had so many staff members when we first walked in. The place is pretty big and the booths have very high sides so you really can't see many of the other diners. It also keeps your conversation close which is nice if you are trying to have a conversation. Their prices are average for most of the places I have tried around the Twin Cities. However, they have an all-you-can-eat menu you can opt for instead which is actually quite substantial. We choose to try that since we could sample many items and not have to worry about the price. Their basic salad and seafood soup are both a solid 3 out of 5 stars. Not great but no bad either. But let's face it, this is a sushi place so it's all about the fish, right? Right! Well, if you are like most of the other people who eat "sushi," then you will probably like this place just fine. They have plenty of rolls to choose from and more spicy stuff on their menu then there really should be. So, if you are into rolls, you will be quite happy here. However, if you want fish, their selection is meager at best. I would say the over all quality of the fish was a 2 out of 5. There were several pieces that I flat out would not eat because they did not look appetizing. Sashimi was not an option on the all you can eat but their nigiri that is all you can eat was pitiful at best. You can nearly see the rice through the fish slices on several which is not something you want. The rice itself was quite large to make up for all that missing fish. I will not be eating their nigiri again. Why do I torture myself? Well, sometimes I like to think that maybe, just maybe I am going to find another sushi joint worth returning to, but this is just not one of them.
(2)Joshua R.
Good quality sushi for an all you can eat. They make the sushi fresh so you have to wait a bit. Is with it!
(5)Kelly T.
Loved it!!! It was definitely better than expected. All you can eat usually means low quality. This was delicious, especially the Boston and BC rolls, anything with the salmon really. #yum
(4)Sue S.
All-you-can-eat sushi, well... it wasn't as bad as I thought it could be, but it wasn't great. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the place. It's way larger and way nicer than I anticipated from the outside. And, if we're being honest, the Har Mar Mall is not really a place you associate with super trendy, super busy dining options. But we visited on a Friday night and the place was packed. Everyone seemed happy, so that was a good sign. The biggest negative of the whole evening was the wait. Like I said, the place was jam packed. We were told by the two young girls at the hostess stand that our wait would be 45 minutes. The girls seemed really disorganized and not very professional. They kept walking back into the restaurant to look at the progress of various tables, Their method of list-keeping left some things to be desired -- they were disorganized and seemed confused a lot of the time. And even though tables were sitting empty, they did nothing to expedite the excruciatingly slow amount of time that it took to bus tables once people got up. It was seriously like they didn't care about turning the tables at all. Anyway, being our first time there, we were unaware that you could leave your name on the list and then come back, and also that you apparently could call ahead and get on the list. This resulted in us being angry when people walked in and were seemingly seated ahead of us. In all it took more than an hour for us to be seated, even though it could have been substantially less if people just operated like they worked in a busy restaurant. Once we were seated, things got better. Our server was good. He was accurate, prompt and courteous. We ordered a whole bunch of sushi (nigiri) -- salmon was definitely the winner. It was not big, oily slabs like you get at sushi places where you're paying $4 a piece, but it also was not bad at all. The tuna was just OK. Tobiki was fun. We liked the butterfly roll very much and also had the rainbow (which was OK) and the #9, which was good. The handrolls were actually delightfully good, with a lot of crunchy cucumber. In general, some of the sushi had issues with the rice part falling apart or being rolled a bit loosely. I also had a couple of pieces of salmon in my hand roll that had that fatty, stringy line in them. But overall, the fish was fresh, the sushi was decent and I had no real quality complaints. We stayed away from everything else on the menu mostly because we were trying to get our money's worth after the long wait. So I can't comment on any of the other items. I did see the fried dumplings and edamame on the table next to us, and it just looked OK. I didn't feel like we missed much. So in essence, if you are hungry (really hungry) and want to stick to sushi only, the all you can eat option here might just satisfy your craving for a lot less than going to a fancy sushi joint. Better deal even at lunch I would suppose. Maybe we'll try that next time the craving strikes.
(3)Qian Z.
Nice sushi buffet and sashimi is good. Big parking lot. One small issue is the long waiting time.
(4)Tim S.
On April 4, 2013, my friend and coworker, Jack, said "Let's go to lunch. I need to take you to a place I've recently discovered." Well, Jack didn't steer us wrong by suggesting Kyoto Sushi in Roseville. Talk about a hidden gem! Usually when we're in the neighborhood, we make a beeline for Eddington's, what with their all-you-can-eat soup and breadsticks. However, if you are a fan of Sushi, you need to head over to Kyoto Sushi. I will admit it's not the best Sushi in the world, but for all-you-can-eat for $15.99, you cannot find a better bargain! You can choose from Sushi and/or cooked food. Hop over to my Local Pictures on my profile, and find the receipt to see all the food Jack and I ate. We had to get the 'Sexy Girl' because of the name and what's in it, but it wasn't my favorite. The Spicy Salmon was nice as was the Dynamite roll. I will not eat my Sushi from just anywhere, and because the fish is fresh and made to order, you'll be fine here. The downside is they make their Sushi with more rice than fish, which you would expect to keep their prices low. Just be prepared for that. They tell you not to waste the food or they will charge 15% more, but try to be a bit adventurous. I grew up with fried Tofu, and while not the way Mom makes it, it was good. The Shu Mai is worth it. I didn't get to try it all, so I'm looking forward to my next trip back.
(4)Heather H.
Great atmosphere and food. The servers were great and very polite. The food is definitely very fresh and the all you can eat is worth the money. I would recommend this place highly.
(5)Mindy T.
This is NOT a sushi buffet, you can order "unlimited" from the pre-fix menu. If you order several rolls at once, [con#1] order take a long time, [con#2] all rolls mixed in one plate so you don't know which from which. If you order one at a time, oh boy, it is taking forever, you will be starving. The waiter was not around most of the time. Rolls are mostly vegetables and rice, i ordered the unagi roll and it was no sign to be found other than the sauce. I did not like the spicy tuna, there was no flavor to it. Giving 2 stars for its variety, you can order appertizer, sushi, terriyaki, udon ...etc. Overall, this was the first time i left "buffet" and was still hungry.
(2)Danielle R.
This is my go-to place for sushi. Recently they have gotten very busy and their host hasn't been very consistent with knowing how long the wait actually is. I hope they come up with a better system for a long wait, such as a phone call when your table is ready or the buzzers that many other restaurants use. I've been going to Kyoto since they opened, the All You Can Eat menu has so many choices! I'm a big fan of their Sexy Girl roll, the Dragon roll, and their edamame is fairly good. It's not the best sushi I have ever had, but for the price it is fantastic!
(4)Cindy D.
The food quality here is the not the greatest. The location in Eagan is better. I came here during lunch, their tuna and salmon were very sliiiimmmmeeeyyyy. After that I decided to just have their veggie tempuras instead. I haven't been here for dinner yet, but I don't think I will be here anytime soon. I noticed that there are more high school students here than older adults. I guess it a fun place for HS students to hang out with friends and family while enjoying the scrumptious never-ending rolls of sushi and such. If you like Japanese then this is a place to go to. Kyoto is an all you can eat Sushi located in Roseville, MN.
(2)Lorraine S.
Thumbs up for this place. Good value for money, quick service, tasty food. Ate too much - my stomach hurts :-).
(5)Vee P.
Satisfied. It was really busy for a Friday night but were still seated almost right away. The hostess and waitress were happy and very welcoming. Food came quickly. We decided on the regular menu because we were not very hungry to make getting the all-you-can-eat worth it. We got the dragon, sexy girl and butterfly. The dragon was the best of the three. Ten pieces and large size... With the right amount of ingredients, flavor and texture. Our sexy girl didn't have enough crunch so texture was lacking and felt mushy. And the butterfly was good, simple. It is attached to the har mar mall, close to Marshall's but u have to enter from the outside. Across the street is a super target. We want to come back to try the all you can eat with a larger group of people.
(4)Scott D.
This place lived up to the expectations we had going into it. We both got the buffet option for dinner and it was incredible. My wife and I are novice sushi eaters, and this suited our tastes very well. I have recommended this restaurant too many people after going there, and will continue to do so. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The food is delicious, the best Asian food I've ever had. Definitely recommend this place as much as I possibly can!

For the price, location, food, etc., this place gets 5 stars in my book. I went for the lunch buffet the other day with three friends and ordered a bunch of rolls (ie Sexy Girl, California Roll, and a bunch of others I didn't pay attention to, but just ate), shrimp tempura, eel and vegetable fried rice plates, salmon teriyaki, tofu, edamame, and dessert (red bean ice cream, which tasted like strawberry ice cream). Everything was good and there were dozens of the other things I didn't get to try. The place is located in HarMar Mall. The inside is surprisingly nice with nice booths and tables and some decent decor. The booths could probably fit about 6 average sized people. Our server was nice and quick. We went around 11:30am and found it pretty empty. I think it was the four of us along with 3-4 other customers. Maybe we beat the lunch crowd? I liked everything I ate, but I wouldn't call this place fancy, schmancy. I think the buffet is about $15-16. Everything is made fresh to order and you get to order as much as you can eat. You can't take leftovers, so don't order extra or you'll be charged for the extra food. I think this is the only buffet where I didn't eat myself silly or get sick from eating. To make the best of this buffet, go in at least a group of 4, so you can try more things. The portions are big and if you go alone or with another person, you'll get full quick off only a few dishes. Can't wait to go back and try more stuff! You definitely get your money's worth in this place.

any free morning/noon i have i spend it at kyoto. sushi is good, not the best but i aint complaining it's all you can eat. little sis works here and talks about all the needy customers, i can see both sides. could be frustrating having to wait but if you look at the location it is much smaller than kyoto in eagan or akita in woodbury. food is awesome, salmon never tasted chewy or fishy, dynamite roll is goood, lunch time is the best ($16) but dinner is too ($25) wish they had the seaweed salad on the lunch menu though, my life would be complete.

Delicious sushi and mostly great service. Certain waitresses do not come to your table very often which is frustrating when you're paying for all you can eat. They turn around the food fairly quickly. Go during lunch on a weekday for sure!

So, a coworker suggested this as an alternative to the all you can eat lunch at Akita that I have reviewed in the past. It had the promise of still being a great deal for unlimited sushi, and being FAR closer to the metro than Akita out in Woodbury. Did I say Woodbury? I meant Hudson, WI. TOO FAR out there! While Akita boasts AYCE for $14.99, Kyoto was a whole hot dollar more. I'm not deterred by that, since the flavors were bangin', and there were significantly more options! They had everything you'd expect (California, Dynamite, Rainbow & Spicy Tuna rolls) but then offered interesting more adventurous ones (Peanut roll (?!), Snow Mountain roll, Boston roll, and my new favorite roll ever, the Sexy Girl roll)! I think the picture I added includes the Sexy Girl roll, and while that name just seems silly and out of place in a restaurant, it was nothing short of sexy! Spicy, flavorful, beautiful, and I can't stress this last one enough: UNLIMITED. I go to these places with 2 friends that share my interpretation of AYCE Lunches as official challenges. And I'm a winner. We had an historic amount of food and left satisfied and pumped about finding a closer sushi joint. To sum it up, Kyoto was a bump up in quality, quantity, options, flavor BUT also price. Har Mar strip mall location made the directions deceiving. Google maps led me to Roseville Cub Foods, which, ummmm... No thanks? It's on the North end of HarMar by the David's Bridal entrance. BONUS: Spicy Tuna rolls seem ordinary, and they have them everywhere, but I am telling you: THEIRS ARE BETTER. I don't know if they spice-ify their Spicy Mayo sauce differently, or if the Tuna is just fresher, but that stuff is ADDICTIVE and yummy fo' real! Try it.

This sushi restaurant is usually busy in the evening. I have been here a few times and they were always almost out of seats. The service is okay and the staff is rather prompt and helpful. I have tried sushi at many different places, good and bad, this place is probably67/10. It is actually very good for an all-you-can-eat restaurant and since the price is quite reasonable. I recommend getting the teriyaki and grilled salmon. Sashimi here is just...meh.
(4)Elena T.
WOWZA This place is amazing. ALL YOU CAN EAT MADE FRESH TO ORDER: sushi, rolls, tempura, fried rice, noodles, etc. for $15.99 at lunch and $24.99 at dinner. The decor is hip and the music is with it. The projection TV on the wall is a bit out of place but you hardly notice it once you start inhaling their delicious food. The staff is friendly and parking is free and easy. Why you would go anywhere else? Why? Highlights: Rainbow Roll Dynamite Roll Broccoli Tempura Shrimp Tempura Kyoto Sushi = Eat here. Duh.

We have been coming here since early 2012 simply because they are close to home with medium/good quality sushi, depending on the night. My oldest has been 10 years old for 8 months but was not charged the adult all you can eat price. I don't know if they changed the policy or if the previous staff had been giving us a break but today my 9 year old was charged $9 and my 10 year old $25. Spend your $16 wisely, Kyoto, it's the last nickel of mine you will ever see.

I can't believe this place!!!!! What a disappointment! I went there yesterday (friday) night, got there at exactly 8pm to meet up with 3 other people. I got there first, asked for a table, was put on the waiting list, and was told it was going to be a 1hr wait. 1hr and 20mins has gone by and I noticed everyone who were there before us already got a table, so i went up to ask the lady at the front counter how many ppl were ahead of us. She told me we were next. 10mins passed and 3 groups of people who came after us were already seated. I got mad, so went up to ask her again and to tell her that she told us we were next... she said "yes, your group is next." 2mins passed and she called another party to be seated. That's when i got REALLY upset! WE WERE WAITING FOR A TABLE FOR 1HR and 30MINS!!! So i snapped! We told them how long we've been waiting, how can they tell us it was going to be a 1hr wait, when we've been waiting for 1hr and 20mins to get a table... then for her to tell us we are next but kept giving seats to other people.. that's just rude and pathetic! All she said to us was, "that's because we couldn't find a table for you guys." PLEASE! there were only 4 of us... So we left and I will never go back! I will tell all my family and friends not to ever go there and never recommend this place to anybody!

For the AYCE price, the sushi is decent. I love that the menu has so many other food options, fried rice, tempura, udon. My one complaint would be the service, even on slow days they sometimes forget to bring out things you ordered and you'll have to order it again. I've had really good attentive servers and really rude impatient servers. Always hope for the better of the two but don't let their negative vibes ruin your appetite and make sure you eat your money's worth. Salmon teriyaki, order by the boatload, and spicy tuna hand rolls, YUM.
(4)Andrew T.
I went in for an all-you-can-eat lunch. Well the rainbow roll was small in my opinion and was no better than cub foods sushi. Tried a udon which is noodle soup with choice of protein - I got it with crab meat. The meat was real and good, but the broth was flavorless and bland. I then had the teriyaki beef and teriyaki salmon which didn't blow me away. I then got their "sexy girl" roll that people seem to rave about. Like my other sushi roll it was bland and heavy on the rice. Somewhat flavorless. I did highly enjoyed their iced tea - it was made fresh and unique.

I've been to all 3 of the Kyoto restaurants in the Twin Cities and I'm always impressed with the service and speed. As a big sushi fan, I'm very satisfied with the quality of the food prepared. I try and visit at least once a month. Keep up the great work.
(5)Michelle N.
The place I go to for the Japanese fried rice. Other than that, the other items on the menu is typical for most Japanese restaurants. I have lunch here more than once with friends and coworker at both Roseville and Eagan location. The décor can be updated especially the booths. Some of the seat were ripped.
(4)M B.
Flavor/quality: 2 (1 if you get something besides sushi) Value: 4 Everything on the menu that is NOT sushi is pretty dreadful. The noodles are awful. However, if you are here, you are probably here for the all you can eat sushi. It's not great sushi, it's not even very good sushi, but at that price, it has a good value proposition.
(2)Lucy A.
I don't know what the bad reviews on here are about, because I went there for dinner Monday night and was thoroughly satisfied. We ordered a la carte, so I can't comment on the all you can eat thing, but two of us were able to order salmon sashimi, two rolls, the soft shell crab appetizer, a beer, and a soda for a total tab of $42. Um, yes please!! The sashimi came wrapped in itself in the shape of a rose - very beautiful presentation. The rolls were both delicious and nicely presented. The appetizer was good, but nothing special, compared to the same dish ordered at Nami. I have no complaints about the service. The server wasn't super friendly, but she certainly wasn't rude, condescending, or anything else described by other reviewers. (Frankly, I can do without someone asking me "how's everything tasting?" 5 times during my meal.) The food all came out promptly and we had no issues. All in all, I think this place makes great sushi at a very reasonable price, and I for one definitely plan to go back for more!

$15.99 for quality AYCE sushi lunch? Yes, please! I have been anxiously waiting for this place to open since I saw that it was going to be taking over the space left by the vacated BW3 in Har Mar Mall. It did not disappoint. The sushi here is not as good as the sushi at Fuji Ya or Origami or some of the other more venerated sushi establishments in the Twin Cities, but it is far superior to some of the sushi that I have had at some AYCE Chinese and Korean buffets which I would, and have, given three stars to. Started out with the Sexy Girl and Boston maki rolls. Both items are described as spicy on the menu, but neither were spicy for my tastes. Nonetheless, enjoyed them both. The Sexy Girl is "spicy" tuna on the inside with "spicy" crab on top, and the Boston is "spicy" crab meat with a crunchy inside. For round two, I got another Sexy Girl roll and the unagi roll. I was not overly impressed with the unagi roll. On third and final round of sushi, I got two each of the spicy salmon and unagi sushi nigiri-style. The spicy salmon did actually have a little bit of a kick to it. The nigiri unagi was much better than the unagi roll. Got some green tea ice cream for my happy ending. Be careful that you do not order more than you can eat as they will hit you with a 15% surcharge for any excess food that is not completely finished. Also note that the AYCE price does not include your beverage unless you are only drinking water. It looks like they have a full bar, but I did not partake as I was still on the work clock. For a guy with a healthy appetite, I left full and feeling like I got good value for the money spent.

Had the lunch buffet: Pros: - Good variety of sushi and grilled foods for the lunch. - Not a long wait between each food request. - Super clean restroom. - fairly cheap suhi. Cons: - the quality of the food is not there...seems lacking. - the tables and dishes appeared dirty and table was splitting apart. Overall: go if you want a lot of sushi, or to try a lot of different types. Otherwise their are better options.

Seriously guys? This used to be one of my hang out places for a all you can eat sushi. We got to be able to select for all-u-can-eat and have another member of your party went for a set menu. We came there yesterday on a very busy Friday night, was told that the wait was about 45-60 minute long even though there was not much crowd waiting for tables and we saw a few empty tables. Hmm, thought they were having a long list of reservation. OK, we decided to walk around the mall while waiting.. All of a sudden our party got seated within 5 minutes. What the heck? They don't know how to estimate the wait? I thought to myself this turned out to be to our favor. And here is the joke: we were seated, they gave us 1 AYCE menu (they were 4 of us), asked them for additional AYCE and regular menus. A couple of waiters simply ignored us, we ended up getting the menus ourselves from the counter. Finally, a waitress came to us asking for our orders. Well our jaws dropped when she told us if any of our party is going for AYCE, the rest of the group will have to also go with AYCE. WHAT KIND OF RULE IS THAT? this is the 1st time in my life I heard such a STUPID RULE. What are they worried about? People eating out of somebody's AYCE orders? LISTEN KYOTO, EACH ONE OF MY PARTY WAS READY TO PLACE OUR OWN INDIVIDUAL ORDER,!! Are you so DAMN STUPID OR SO GREEDY? For sure you will be losing customers and definitely this loyal customer. I know there will be another Japanese restaurants benefiting from KYOTO'S NEW AND STUPID RULE.

Great food. Same as Akita. Great sushi quality far Better than most sushi bars and restaurants. RECOMMENDED: Fried Udon Eel Fried rice Tempura Dishes Majority of rolls Sashimi sushi Miso Soup Steak Breaded Pork Chop Chicken NOT RECOMMENDED: Noodle soups are poor here. Udon is not good and so are the Ramen..... NOT GOOD.

This is one of my favorite sushi places because it's cheap for the variety of food you can get! I love the seasoning that they put on the rice, it has a light vinegar taste that compliments the sushi pieces very well. Also, sushi can get pretty expensive, a high quality maki roll costs around 15$ for around 8 pieces. With Kyoto sushi however, you can get as many maki rolls and nigri sushi as you want for 15.99$ (lunch) or 24.99$ for dinner. Also in regards to people's comments about the 15% surcharge, it's not about how MUCH you order but what you don't eat. If you ordered a shit ton of food and you don't eat the majority of it then you're wasting food, thus you get hit with the surcharge. Simple, don't order too much at a time to avoid the surcharge. Here are my favorites: *Spicy Tuna Sushi (A white tuna piece of sushi that has a light taste buttery taste, it does not have a strong fishy taste/smell, and it melts in your mouth.) *Spicy Tuna Roll (Usually at other sushi restaurants it's just s slab of tuna inside a plain roll, but with Kyoto they mix the tuna in with tempura flakes and spicy mayo which makes it SO much better) *Dynamite Roll *#9 Roll (Dinner only) *Deep Fried Scallops (Not real scallops though, still delicious IMO) *Beef Teriyaki *Salmon Teriyaki *Dumplings *Unagi Fried Rice/Chicken Fried Rice with Shrimp Sauce. *Half scoop Vanilla and Green Tea Ice Cream

If you know good sushi, stay away from this place. It is low quality, high quantity. The all-you-can eat cheap price is the only appealing thing about this place. The choices for sushi are quite limited and the presentation is buffet house style, not the works of art that you get in really good places. Many rolls have crab as a primary ingredient (or krab even though the don't tell you that's what it is) or tempura shrimp. The spider roll that I ordered was no where near fresh. The soft shell crab tasted like a day old tempura shrimp and was cold and chewy, not crunchy. The main heat in a spicy tuna hand roll came from a chili mayo sauce drizzled over the top and was just slightly on the warm side of mild. Certainly not hot by normal Asian cuisine standard. They have about 4 or 5 different cold sakes to choose from, most are average grade stuff, nothing top shelf at all. The sake prices are a bit above what you should be paying for the quality of the sake, but not too bad. I had the Mu Daiginjo, which was $9 a glass for a wine glass pour. It was the best quality, by name, that they had on the menu and was certainly decent. i didn't try any of the hot dishes, but they do have udon noodle dishes that looked like it might have been a really good choice on a very cold night. The service was very pleasant and timely. I didn't find myself waiting for anything. There isn't a sushi bar in terms of seating, but rather tables in front of the production line that would otherwise be the sushi bar in normal sushi restaurants.

A great place if you love sushi! Overall the service was pretty fast and friendly and the food was delicious! I would recommend going for the lunch buffet if you've never been before because you can try a little of everything. Oh, and did I mention, IT'S ONLY $15.99!?! They have a HUGE selection and everything is MADE TO ORDER so it's always fresh! For me, that's a huge plus because sushi is pretty gross after it's been sitting out for a while. My favorites here so far are the Dynamite roll and the Sexy Girl. The Dynamite roll has Shrimp tempura, avocado and tobiko inside so it's fairly tame, yet flavorful for those that have never tried sushi before. The Sexy Girl on the other hand, has spicy tuna, a crunchy inside, and spicy crab meat on top. The shrimp tempura here is also worth a try! I thought it was all pretty good considering it was an all-you-can-eat buffet. For those that don't like sushi, have no fear! They have a wide variety of other things such as fried rice, udon, tempura, etc. So there's always something for everyone. Also, a friend of mine that went who had never tried sushi before really liked the Dynamite and California rolls, so if you're looking for a way to introduce people to sushi, these are great rolls to try. Just a warning that they do add a 15% SURCHARGE FOR WASTED FOOD. Also, the $15.99 price does not include drinks (unless it's water).

Best sushi buffet I have ever been to. The food comes out very fast and everything was excellent in quality.
(5)Jacob A.
Best Sushi for the money I have found in the twin cities. 25$ for all you can eat, including sashimi and excellent specialty rolls. I have never once had an issue at this location with food quality or construction. Service is prompt and attentive. I am a frequent repeat customer at this location. Additionally if you have friends nervous about trying Sushi, the menu includes beef terriyaki which is excellent, and also Shrimp tempura and many other options such as fried rice. All are excellent and I can wholly recommend the entire menu.
(5)Emy F.
Just incredible. All you can eat of really, really amazingly delicious and fresh sushi as well as solid hibachi. Seriously amazed and surprised by how good it was. I wanted to go back the next day and do it all over again.
(5)Abdallah A.
Tried Sushi for the first time this month, I have been here 3 times in 17 days. great food and great service.
(5)Pardra H.
Loved the sushi and food!!! It was really good and the dessert was very good too :) service was alright. It took a while to receive our second order.
(3)Ryan M.
This place is comparable to Akita in Woodbury. I really like the Kyoto roll, sirloin tempanyaki, and the #9 roll. My 3 complaints are #1 service was sub par for the amount of people on staff and it being really dead. #2 high rice to fish ratio (Akita is better balanced in this area) #3 way to much sauce on the rolls (once again Akita is better balanced in this area.) Overall I would try this place again.
(4)Mike N.
the service is friendly but the sushi is not the greatest. ordered several rolls and nigiri.. they purposely give you way to much rice on nigiri which was not pleasant. the kitchen food is ok. fo rthe price and all you can eat its not bad better than some of the other places that offer all you can eat
(3)Marijane T.
Not bad, to me food wise it was exactly identical to Akita in Woodbury except service was better, so majority of the stars are for the service.
(4)Jim O.
I am giving it 5 stars because for the price, I was able to go hog wild on the sashimi. Given the price of sashimi grade fish, I easily got my money's worth.
(5)Megan E.
All you can eat sushi... need I say more? You can't beat the price and the sushi is consistently good. My favorites are: Philadelphia roll, B.C. roll, beef curry, potstickers, and spicy salmon. The decor is very nice and you can usually get seated very quickly. Overall, a consistently good dining experience.
(4)Glen H.
I came here with a group of five. Understandably, on a Saturday night, there's going to be a long wait. We waited 45 minutes and finally got a table. After that, once we sat down we had to wait another 25 minutes for our food, which seemed to come in shifts. In the end, when it's busy, just order everything you want with one order because the service isn't all that great.
(3)Mary S.
Same as Akita in Woodbury, MN, Good sushi, but I noticed that my sushi dishes didn't come with the wasabi and pickled ginger as most Sushi places would and had to ask for some.
(3)Gabriel G.
This gets two stars for only two reasons: 1) The service was great 2) Fried scallops were very well executed We went for lunch. The website and reviews said the "all you can eat" menu was 15.99...nope. 19.99. That was a surprise at the end of the meal, as well as adding a forced gratuity of 18% when they didn't disclose this before hand. The sushi was *awful*. The rice didn't hold together at all, they do not serve tuna, despite the menu saying they have it (the server explained that they weren't out of it, it just wasn't actually served anymore), the eel was overcooked. All pieces of nigiri had tiny bits of fish and clearly of poor quality. The rolls were almost acceptable, but you can do better at Kowalski's. Terrible selection in general. But it's no wonder most of their sushi is cooked, since they clearly have either no desire or no ability to deal with fresh raw fish. There was also no option to order a la carte to avoid paying 20$ for the tiny amount of things we did eat. They also didn't separate the food by who ordered it. So there was a peanut roll on the same plate as a set of salmon nigiri and veggie tempura on the same plate as shrimp tempura. This, for us, was just confusing (who ordered what? who does this belong to?), but I'm very glad no one had a peanut or shellfish allergy, for instance. Edamame was cooked very well. Miso soup was fine too. Overall, i'd never go back here again. If you want all you can eat Japanese, go to Ichiban--it's in town and the food is amazing, freshly made, and you can ask for just about any kind of sushi or other thing you want and they'll make it. Disappointed.
(2)Nappy Girl L.
At first I was having second thoughts about this place. Is it as good as Akita? But after eating there I have realized that Kyoto is way better then Akita. Their customer service is way better. I can communicate with their workers a whole lot better than Akita's workers. Another thing I love about Kyoto is their sushi!! I tried their Sexy girl and Snow mountain. When our sushi came out it looked kind of weird, but after the first bite I couldn't get my hands off of them. Kyoto and Akita's menus are pretty much the same. They have the same things on their menu, it would be nice if Kyoto add a few more items to their menu to not be so similar to Akita. I would love to eat out at Kyoto again.
(4)Rich A.
The quality is good enough, and the quantity can't be beat - all you can eat sushi, sashimi, tempura, noodle dishes, donburi, and more for a reasonable price. And a bowl of ice cream at the end, if you want it. The decor is a little worn - the tables badly need refinishing - and the mall location is less than exotic. But still, AYCE sushi, man!
(3)Jessica T.
I enjoy their all you can eat option that allows you to try a little bit of everything.
(4)Annie P.
Always very leery of an All -You -Can - Eat Restaurant , especially in the 'Burbs - but decided to give this place a try because I love sushi. Walked in and was told they have 2 menus. The AYCE and regular. Decided to try the AYCE for $24.95 because I was starving. When our waiter came I ordered 3 rolls for myself, 2 for my husband who was in the biffy, soup and one tempura appetizer for my husband. Waiter then informs us after I put in order that if we order too much food there will be a 15% surcharge. I ask what is considered too much...6 items, 7 just what? He wouldn't answer and pointed to one of the sushi chefs and said, "that guy makes the decisions". My husband then says, " How about if set me up with what you consider the best apps, sushi rolls and main dish, or best route to go on the menu for a hungry guy like me?". Waiter didn't really have an answer so my hubby orders a few items and keeps saying, "Please let me know when I've ordered too much food here!" Again he never clarifies just what in the hell is too much! Feeling very uncomfortable and pretty much like we were setup at this point, we really try to keep an open mind and hoping the food makes up for the awkward conversation we are having with this young & passive mumbling waiter. His next visit to our table I ask if I am cut off yet, or if I can I get the noodle dish they just served the table behind us? He pauses , thinks about it a few secs, then say's he can bring us a half order to share but that's about it. We are still very confused just how much we are allowed to order without paying the 15% surcharge, and also ask the waiter to please tell me if I am close , or over the limit so I don't have to pay the surcharge. Still no real answer. Odd and uncomfortable... Now for the food; Miso soup tasted off. Spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon and crazy roll were all extremely bland , dry and all tasted with same with ZERO spice. Our half order Chicken Udon noodle dish we were allowed to share was too salty and just plain boring like it was out of a box or can.Typical buffet food, dry, frozen, processed MSG laden crap. We assume we're done and over or allowed food limit and start gearing up to get our check and head home when he says' " would you like anything else off the menu?" Now very confused I tell him I thought we weren't allowed more food? He sheepishly says people can continue to order as long as they eat everything on their plate. I feel like I am 10 years old. Well - what the phuck?!? - At this point we're literally exhausted from trying to get this guy to explain just how much damn food we can order without getting handcuffed by the sushi nazi and just want to get the hell out of there because I feel gross and unsatisfied. I think this winter I am staying home and cooking a lot more. Tired of paying $$$ for shit on a shit stick meals.
(2)Karen A.
I've gone here 3 times now and have loved it every time, although this is my favorite location. the rolls are awesome and so is the sushi. i think it's great that you get a whole menu of things to order not just 3 or 4 things. i have to say that the eel rice is absolutely amazing, don't be scared.... go ahead and try it....mmmmmmm
(5)Lauren H.
Great sushi! We are very picky, and we loved it. Very fresh. You can't beat the $15 all you can eat lunch deal!
(5)K S.
I went to Kyoto for an early lunch (around 11:30am) on a Thursday. There were about 6 other tables full when we arrived. We were seated immediately and our server was at our table almost immediately with menus and asking for drink orders. She was very friendly and immediately apologized that it was cold in the restaurant (it was a bit chilly but it was also 5 degrees outside and a lot of people were coming in/out). The restaurant got busier as we were there, but our server was always attentive, checking in and filling our waters. Because we had never been there before, we decided to just order off the menu versus doing the all-you-can-eat. Next time I would definitely do the AYCE, especially over lunch since it's only $15.99. I ordered miso soup but my companion didn't, but she was given a bowl of soup at no charge, which was brought out very quickly after we ordered. The miso tasted just fine to me (a previous review complained of it tasting off), and I order miso soup at every restaurant that serves it so I feel like I have a good comparison. We ordered three different rolls and the portions were quite large for the price (12 large rolls for $8-10) and all tasted very fresh. I do agree with some of the other reviews that our rolls lacked spice. It wasn't the best sushi I've had in MSP (Masu and Fuji-ya win that for me), but it was good and I will go back for the AYCE lunch.
(4)Heather S.
Had the AYCE lunch on a busy Saturday. Service was prompt and the food was pretty good. I didn't care for their miso soup (a little salty) but all the maki rolls we tried were good. Out favorites were the sexy girl roll and the dynamite roll.
(4)Tiffany L.
Honestly really impressed with Kyoto! I love sushi, and have tried it all over town. It is AYCE, so the quality may not compare to the BEST places. It is, however, still great quality sushi, good service, and a really nice atmosphere. There are plenty of options but keep in mind that the lunch menu is stunted as compared to the dinner and even more so, the full menu.
(4)Mike B.
This is my favorite sushi place. Not a buffet, but a freshly-made all you can eat sushi place. Sushi is just as good as other places in the Metro area, and for a much more reasonable price! And it has cooked food as well, for those who don't like raw fish. A++++
(5)Joan P.
I have had better sushi, but this is better than supermarket sushi and best of all you get all you want for only $16 at lunchtime. I went here once for dinner (not AYCE) and once for lunch. Both times the service was awful because it took a long time and orders got mixed up, but I am thinking this is just startup woes and will improve with time. The tempura was too greasy but otherwise the food was good. Lots of choices. The open spacious feel of the place was nice.
(4)Mark M.
I have had better sushi, but for the "all you can eat" deal price I cannot complain. Not as good as Sakura, but still freshly made. Service at lunch was pretty good...nice atmosphere. Many good choices on the non-Sushi side as well. Some very nice Udon and Teriyaki. I will definitely go again and recommend it to my friends.
