Terrible, Terrible, ordered hot roast beef sandwich from online menu, Monday special $7.99 Hot Roast Beef, went to pick up, owner charged me $10, said on menu $7.99, oh we haven't changed price yet, roast beef is too expensive for that price she said, would not give me special price, so I said you would rather now throw out meal, refund my money, get a bad review than to give advertised price? Yep!!!! She said so i left What a way to treat a first time customer!!

Suzie's has been a weekend breakfast favorite for the past few years. If you're looking for a "greasy spoon" type establishment that offers excellent service, reasonable prices, and tasty food then look no further than Suzie's Kitchen. I'd recommend arriving early if you're looking to be seated right away as it can get quite busy.

Sunday mornings are busy. Be patient and be Minnesota nice. Never had a bad meal in this restaurant. The food quality is high. Service is great and price is perfect.

I work in the same city and this is first time visiting this restaurant. Since I'd never been here and didn't know what to order I asked the waitress what was good on the menu and she recommended the roast beef sandwich with gravy and real mashed potatoes. I'm always a sucker for recommendations so I gave it a try. The roast beef was good and it was on a piece of white bread with a few other 1/2 slices on top. The plate had a nice scoop of real mashed potatoes and the rest was drenched with gravy. This was their last helping of roast beef and was on the verge of being too dry. The gravy was nice to drench the roast beef in but it was a bit too salty. This seems like a good place for home type cooking and I'd give it another try.

This is as good as cafe food gets! We're new to the neighborhood - the Nokomis Cafe in Minneapolis is our benchmark - and Suzie's is a warm and hospitable place with good food on the plate. Prices are on par and portions ample. We had breakfast and it was perfect - loved the crispy, thick-sliced bacon! If I had any "criticism" (and I don't really!) it's that Suzie's is in a suburban strip center location - but it's not the location that is the draw, it's the food - and it was good! So nice to have a REAL cafe in the neighborhood!

Food was darn tasty. Service could have been better. I gave it 4 stars for the food, price and it smells like my grandmas house many years back.

Suzie has the best food!! If you are looking for a Mom-and-Pop kind of place rather than a "chain", this is the place to go. The staff is always nice and they take good care of you!! My favorite is the chocolate milk shake.

Had breakfast on a weekday here recently. The food was ok I suppose... got a breakfast burrito and it wasnt bad, but not out of the ordinary. Tasted very similar to something you would make at home. The guy I were with had much better looking omelets and raved. I was more distracted by the greasy air thinking I was going to smell like a fry pan all day. The place is newish looking on the inside, but they could use a little more ventilation. My biggest gripe were the gross menu/placemats. Greasy and well-handled.... not something I want right next to my meal. Coffee was ok, staff and service were the best traits of Suzie's.

Our family was in town for a soccer tournament this past weekend. Our first game was at 8am and our second game was not until Noon. We were hungry for breakfast and thought we'd try this place out. The first thing you notice is the door; you have to walk through it. We had to wait a few minutes to get a table. Upon being seated, we were greeted by our waitress. She was very friendly, made recommendations and suggestions. When we ordered we were told the laminated menu was also our placemat. I don't know if I'm so crazy about that because the guy that was at our table before us had half of his omelette on his shirt. But, hey, they had wiped the table off so I guess all is good. I had eggs Benedict, which bothers me typing this because my freaking auto correct wants to capitalize "Benedict". Seriously stop!! Anyway, it was really good. Prior to this place there were only two other places I would order eggs Benedict (Stop capitalizing!!!). The one place is closed and the other is my house. But, I'll add this to the list if I'm ever in town again. While I can't speak for my wife and daughters food, their plates were empty so it must have been good.

What the...... Where are you 5 star people eating? I just had a horrible...horrible meal there. I ordered the "Homemade" corned beef hash, husband ordered the might man, and son ordered biscuits and gravy. Corned beef hash was a big fat zero! To start out with, there is nothing really homemade about this, besides the fact that it didn't come from a can. The corned beef, was deli meat, thin slices and then cut up. The hash reminded me of the packs of premade hash browns with the onion and pepper in it. It had no flavor, it had a stale texture to the hash browns...it was a 100% miss. Husbands might man wasn't much better. I think they make everything ahead of time in bulk, and then keep it warm. His bacon tasted like it had been sitting there for a couple hours, not even hot. Hash browns had he same issue as mine, not hot and stale tasting. Eggs were scrambled and he said tasted like rubber. Only thing that was ok, was the pancakes...which our 9 year old stole because his meal was so bad. 9 year old ordered biscuits and gravy, he was making weird faces, so I finally asked what was wrong...he told me to try it. Wow, that is disgusting! It was so bad! The after taste was even worse. Now I know why he was stealing pancake to get it outta his mouth. I felt HORRIBLE! He was getting on a bus for a school trip right after this, and ended up with a super upset stomach. Poor dude. Places like this make me want to open a restaurant. It is not that hard to make fresh...seriously!

I went here today for my birthday and the service was awful. The server was actually mean! She slammed dishes and walked away after dropping off the food without saying a word. I wanted to order a birthday milkshake but was actually too nervous to do this! She told us "no" when we wanted to add on a side of fries in a rude tone and walked away. She DID add on the fries but her attitude sucked. Never going back! Too bad, I used to really like this place.

I was hesitant about coming here due to the greasy spoon reviews and sounding like it had the look of being rode hard and put up wet. However it also sounded like it served what I was wanting on a morning after several too many drinks the night before - an old fashioned breakfast, light on the lard. I almost turned around because it looked tired from the outside without too many patrons. But my stomach told me to tough it out. I'm glad I did. There is nothing about the earlier negative reviews that were true. Granted, maybe it just had a face lift, but the placemat menus were brand new and the interior was well lit and ventilated. It looked pretty modern in fact with sealed concrete floors and colorfully painted the walls. The food was REALLY good too! We had French toast, bacon & eggs, pancakes, and a Spanish omelette. It was all at least worthy of a 4-star review. I'm eager to go back and try something else. Moderately priced, with a very good variety of menu items for both breakfast or lunch. They even have a drive-thru, though since it isn't cooked till it's ordered, it would a bit of a wait....but in the winter this would be pretty great to not have to get out of the vehicle yet avoid fast food. The only thing that would be helpful is a takeout menu so you could call ahead before you get to the drive thru. All in all though, this place is much better than it used to be based on earlier reviews. And though it's not gourmet, it's a step up from many other moderate places and fantastic for this small area of the county.

I really wanted to like this place, and honestly I'm a bit conflicted over the experience. We arrived near the end of the morning rush, waited short of 10 minutes for a table. As it turns out the people at that table were waiting on the waitress to bring their credit receipt to sign. So they sat and looked impatient while we stood at the door waiting on them waiting on her. After being seated, we started looking at reviews a bit closer. The reviews out the gross and nasty placemat menus are correct. Sticky, dirty, coming apart at the snipped-off corners, stained. The chairs were a bit sticky too. The menus and the wait set the tone for the rest of our meal. A number of minutes after being seated, the waitress came over with water, took drink and food orders and left. 20 minutes later we got our food. We asked about our drinks, which she ran off to get and returned with right away. While we were sitting there with water, the rush had about ended and there were now a few open tables. An older couple came in and sat at the table next to us. They were greeted within just a couple minutes, had water right away, and actually got there food before we did. Odd that. Her egg meal was actually tasty, the Taco Omelet. I had the mighty number 2 (three eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, bacon, toast) and we ordered a single pancake for our little boy. I had requested basted eggs. Turns out they were lightly fried and steamed, not basted. I say steamed do to the unmistakable taste of water on the eggs. Hashbrowns were also apparently steamed on the grill, or they went ont he grill straight from frozen. The only butter we had was the little bits on the almost-toast (more like soft, browned bread) and the pancake. The bacon was not remotely close to crispy, in fact I'm not even sure it was actually completely cooked through. One sausage link was barely warmed, the other was black and crispy on one side. Lots of salt and pepper masked most of the taste (more than I would normally use), and it was certainly edible as I did eat everything and so far have suffered no ill effects (been a day or more). Since moving down to this end of the Cities, I'd been looking for a local diner to replace my need for Mickey's. So far I haven't found anything remotely close. I should point out that a number of other tables that we observed had similar service issues to ours. One table never got their water, even after the waitress approached them and commented on that fact. Other diners had the napkin-wrapped silverware bundle like mine: soaking wet napkin with ditry forks or knives inside. We spent a lot of time waiting on our waitress to come around to ask for things, but after the rush had apparently ended, she was suddenly all around us all the time. Not sure why that is, and I can only guess that during the rush period she was helping in the kitchen or something. Like I said, I wanted to like this place. But between the average or lower food quality, the poor service and forgetfullness, and the place just generally being dirty I doubt we'll go back. I say dirty with a note: anything between the floor and about 6feet in height was clean, everything above appeared grimy with dust clumps and stuff hanging off it. Even the plug-in air freshener I saw in a high-up wall outlet was apparently having a tough time. Speaking of air, they need to fix the HVAC in the place. It was warm and a bit damp/muggy in there the whole time, and we could feel the air coming out the of the vents moving around the room, but it just wasn't cool at all. I highly doubt we'll be back again, even with the better than average prices.

Positive: My family and I had breakfast. It was about average for fried eggs and ham. Negative: Overall, the wait staff was rude. The bus boy was the most pleasant. My father-in-law ordered a special that came with hash browns, but he didn't get them. My wife went up to the counter to tell the staff about the hash browns. Ten minutes later our waitress arrived and said, "So, what's going on? You never received hash browns? The cooks swears he gave them to you, and now we have no plates to check," (the bus boy had already cleared them). The waitress essentially accused us of lying about receiving the hash browns. She ended up taking a dollar off the check, but the entire event was strange and we felt as if the wait staff didn't believe is. Unfortunately, we will not be back due to this experience.

This place is only open until 2pm. Some days they are closed. It is a newer place but the decor is plain. The food is good and fairly priced. The place mat menus are a bad idea because of how gross they are. They are a huge turn off because there is no way to get those clean and germ free. If they are going to insist on having those then they should replace them once in awhile because some are very disgusting.

I've heard great things about this place so I was excited to try it. We walked in at 1:08 pm, noting that the sign said that they were closed at 2. Anyways, we walked in with our 3 year old son and the place was pretty dead. He walked up to the table on the landing and asked if we could sit there. The waitress kinda hedged but said Fine. Not seeing what the big deal was, we started to sit down. Then an older woman (I think Suzi? ) came storming from the kitchen and said to the waitress "No. They are NOT sitting there. No. I just vacuumed and they need to go somewhere else. No. No way they can sit there." She didnt once address us, even though we were standing directly in front of her. She just threw her fit and walked away. I was speechless and would have turned around and walked out the door but my husband diplomatically grabbed us another table. Please know that I am not one of those parents who thinks my child farts rainbows and am indignant because he didn't get the table he wanted to sit at. It's because she was so incredibly rude and I truly don't understand why she would think this was an appropriate way to speak to customers. Shortly after we arrived, a guy sat at the counter and she told him he had 5 minutes to order or he'd have to leave We then ordered our food, which was only OK tasting and I am currently laying doubled over because I got really sick from the greasiness of it. I was just really disappointed with the service here. I wanted to love this place and I don't think I will be back.

Pretty good overall. Had taco omelet which did taste like a taco and was fairly tasty. Hashbrowns were average and toast was burnt. Also tried the fried egg sandwich which was a bit dry and does not come with any sides. Overall average

It was my lucky week in the Metro as I landed 3 outstanding dining establishments! Suzie's Kitchen reminded me of an upscale Waffle House, with the counter space and the open grill! There is something about seeing the cook prepare your meal! After talking with the waitress, who turned out to be the owner's daughter, I learned only REAL eggs are used in the breakfast meals. No eggbeater or carton eggs here and you can tell. The service was very prompt and the meal was out within minutes. I ordered the Mighty Man breakfast and it is most certainly the breakfast of champions. Everything was hot and prepared as ordered. The ketchup was served cold!!! Now that is unheard of except in the fine cafes! Only a true ketchup person would understand! The restaurant was clean and very nice. The prices were very reasonable and the parking was plentiful. Nothing bad to say about this place and this place will give Keys Cafe a run for their money in south Metro! I heard it is great for lunch as well....but that is another review. Staff wears cool shirts sure to make you smile.

Today was our second time at Suzie's. The first time, about 6 months ago, our experience was decent. The food was pretty good, the service okay. So, on this Saturday morning around 10:30am, we chose to come back. We'd much rather support a small local family business than eat at a corporate chain restaurant, so we thought we'd try Suzie's again. Sadly, when we came in, we didn't rouse even a look from three separate waitresses. After waiting two minutes, no greetings, no smiles, we were "pointed to" a table. The table had a rag on it, and was clearly unwashed and not set. My husband and my four small kids sat, while a waitress washed and set another table, with no one waiting for it. Another waitress walked by and said in my direction "It's clean." So I sat. Again, another two minutes or so of no greeting, no smile, nothing to welcome us. A few more minutes of busy waitresses, but no one came to our table, still, not even a friendly look. Call me impatient, but I think every single customer, including a family of 6 ($$$) should be at least acknowledged in a positive way. I honestly felt like the three staff we saw were annoyed by our presence. We're not regulars, so perhaps we don't get the same treatment. All I was looking for was SOME effort, a tiny thread, to let us know that we were a valued customer. But I got nothing, so they get nothing. When we got up to leave, all I heard was "Have a nice day." Seriously?! That's what our business means to you? We took our business elsewhere and will not be back.

I decided to try out this place, and sorry I did. The service was terrible and slow. I observed dirty silverware on the ground for thirty minutes until a server picked it up. The table was dirty when I sat down, with coffee stains on the menus. Very cramped, I had to stand up to let people from the other table out. I felt sorry for the people who had to sit at a counter facing a wall, not ideal at all for conversation. The food was very average and small portioned. Additionally the cups where so small it looked like they came out of a preschool play set. This place has a very long way to go.

Suzie's kitchen is about as good as it gets for breakfast. I almost always go for a 3 egg omelet. I always leave feeling full. I'd much rather give a small town feeling independently owned place my business over going to Perkins any day. I have never tried their lunch menu though. If you can get here for breakfast, you won't be disappointed.

Good food, but the cornbeef hash is not cornbeef hash.

Suzie has the best food!! If you are looking for a Mom-and-Pop kind of place rather than a "chain", this is the place to go. The staff is always nice and they take good care of you!! My favorite is the chocolate milk shake.

Great breakfast, fast attentive service, they could use a few more tables. Suzy's reminds me of an up north breakfast joint. Nothing fancy but great service and good food.
