Small dining excellence. The breakfast menu is surprisingly expansive with skillets, omelets, B+G, etc. Add a little Rommergrot for a remembrance of local culture (Norwegian) and this place hits the spot. The location is clean and the service is polite, prompt and professional. There's a bar in the back, which is larger than expected. The space is more than adequate for the breakfast crowd. It would seem the spacing is very conducive to a large night bar crowd as well, but in the morning, it was perfect for a group to grab breakfast and enjoy company. Overall, I can't imagine someone rating this place sub-3. This is coming from a person who lives in Southern California and has exposure to excellent food options in large markets including NYC, LA, and Vegas.

Excellent breakfast spot! Charming interior, friendly service and delicious menu items, gluten-free bread also available! Highly impressed with this local gem.

Went in for something to eat. The specials didn't look to inviting so I ordered an omelet. Ordered an everything, not much of everything and was very small all for the price of 11.95 also only one piecee of toast, I ordered white and I was given rye. Lol. How much different could it be? Oh well next place I eat an omelet will be at home because I won't be eating there ever again.

We walked in, sat at the last table available and was told by the waitress that it was going to be an hour before we received our food as they had "a new cook". We decided that since we didn't have anywhere to be, we would have coffee and a caramel roll until our food arrived. We placed our order, immediately was served our coffee and the caramel roll. Then we waited and waited and I noticed that not one single table in the place had food! The table next to us said they had been waiting for 1 1/2 hours and still no food! We decided to leave.

We ate at The Guest twice over the course of a weekend with a hockey team. Both times the food was good and the service was great. I had the broiled walleye, maybe the best I've had. We called ahead each time since we had a group of 35, and both times they were ready and we had a lot of fun - nice small town atmosphere. I saw the other review on yelp - which was a surprise considering our experience this was likely prior to the current owner who took over in 2013. I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as we did.
