Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Great crust, flavorful sauce, best pizza we have had in Rochester.

*900 Degree oven, homemade dough, toppings from Gouda to Kalmata olive a and everything in between, 90 second cook-time, make Pi a do-over!

Prices are good. Staff very nice and approachable. Very well kept inside, tables and floors clean. Tried two different pi's both were top notch. Highly recommend this place, for lunch or dinner.

This place is amazing! My fiance and I go here whenever we get the chance. We have tried many of their different pizzas and they are all good. One of our favorite parts is that they are the perfect personal size pizzas which is great because we have differnt tastes. A must try for anyone who likes pizza.

For a fast service "individual" pizza place they have a pretty good concept. You can select your crust white or whole wheat and either go with one of the listed configurations or pick and choose your sauce and toppings. Loved the half salad - beautiful red tipped greens with bits of tomato, onions, shaved parm and freshly roasted sunflower seeds. The whole grain mustard dressing was an awesome change from what is available in most places but in the end the salad was a bit overdressed, so you may want to ask for your dressing on the side to save yourself that headache. The pizza arrives quickly (90 seconds in the oven) and the crust is bubbly and nicely charred. They don't go crazy on the cheese which I like because you get to taste everything else on the pizza. I only had a one item pizza but would watch to see if in the future other pizzas with multiple toppings get more cheese, and if needed I would ask to have a half cheese pizza. Decor is nice, the patio was full when we stopped in but a window seat worked well on this sunny day. Service was professional and friendly. As to my opening comment, be aware that their "individual" pizza is a ten inch pizza, which for most health minded people will work out to at least two meals, but if you are one of those who don't mind if your waist size is nearing the big 50 you might want to order two.

This is the best pizza I've had yet in my visit to Rochester! I love that you have the option to make your own pizza, and it is made quickly. The crust is thin and crispy. The ingredients taste fresh. Thank you Pi, your wood fired pizza makes my belly happy!

I decided to try this place while visiting Rochester. Overall the pizza wasn't bad. Because it was just the wife and I the size want bad. But with that said I was still a bit disappointed that they only offered one size (small). But the price wasn't bad and the pizza treated fine.

We ordered four things: 1) Cheese and Jalapeno Stuffed Bread, 2) San Marino Pizza, 3) The Classic Pizza, and 4) two bottled import beers. It seems like a lot of food, but the Pizzas are very small. The Cheese and Jalapeno Stuffed Bread was the best part. Really, really good stuff and I recommend getting this appetizer despite being a little overpriced. My wife loved the San Marino and I loved The Classic. The toppings are fresh and very tasty. We really enjoyed the pies. Why did we only give the place 3 stars instead of 4 or 5? It really deserves 3.5/5, but doesn't deserve 4/5 stars (so we rounded down). It earned this score because of the prices. A Hamilton for each of their pies felt a little overpriced. In NY, we payed this much for twice as much food. Their beer prices are $4 and $5 (domestic and import) a bottle, so this is not a place to go for beer/pizza (shame I didn't see a TV either). Pi - Change two things and you'll have some loyal customers. 1) Lower your prices or increase the portions. 2) Provide reasonably priced draft beer (say $5 domestic pitchers). Till then, we'll have to keep searching for "our" pizza place here in Rochester.

Pi Pizza is the closest thing we have to traditional Neapolitan-style pizza. They have a nice clean atmosphere, friendly service and good pizza. It isn't quite Punch Pizza, but it's pretty damn good.

Best pizza in Minnesota! Every time I travel here for work, I have to stop in! Very fresh, very fast, very friendly staff, and very very tasty!!! Pleaseeee open a location in Ohio!

Awesome wood fired pizza - great service ! I am hoping that they add gluten free pizza soon. I would highly recommend PI to everyone. My favorite is all the meats.

Not impressed... It didn't really have a taste even though the ingredients looked good on the pizza.

We went to Pi for lunch today and were so pleased! Wood-fired personal (I think 10" each) pizzas. And I believe they start at around $5.95 each (don't hold me to that, but I think thats what I recall seeing on the menu) There are pizzas you can order (ones they've designed) as well as a build-your-own option, but they are all made fresh. The dough is fresh - not frozen. We watched an employee stretch balls of dough into our crust, spread the tomato sauce onto them, then add our toppings. You could see her build our pizzas, which ensures freshness....and is also kind of cool to watch. According to the guy who took our order each pizza takes roughly 90 seconds in the oven to cook. We started with the jalapeño cheese bread which was WAY too hot for me....so my husband had plenty for himself. Actual jalenepos in bread filled with cheese. Not my cup of tea, but he thought it was awesome. My pizza I'll call basic and classic. Half cheese, half pepperoni. Huge pepperonis. Really delicious crust. My husband was (and typically is) more adventurous. He had cremini mushrooms and beef. It looked really good and he said that it WAS really good. Oh, the ranch dressing is 50 cents for a side order - totally worth the extra cost. Really good! Not sure how much longer we'll be in the Rochester area, but we may not go anywhere else for pizza. I'm not sure if any other places do wood-fired pizzas here. Very good!

Best rustic pizza in town. Crust is perfect thin and flavorful. Great and creative variety of pizza choices. Ingredients, when not in large quantities, create a rich dinning experience of flavor. Quality and unique ingredients. Come for the taste, not for quantity, you will still be satisfied.

The pizza here is good, but it is overpriced for suburban Rochester. As a recent transplant from Boston, the prices were much more on par for Boston, than for a small midwestern city. Although it is tasty pizza, I think I will be more likely to try other options before returning to this restaurant again.

Not fancy. Not low-end. And, most importantly, good pizza created from delicious ingredients and with a crust baked to perfection -- how can it not be when it's wood-fire grilled in a giant brick oven! Fairly standard fast-ish food atmosphere. But, there's a nice patio outside for those nicer days -- my girlfriend and I sat out there... felt much more private. They have a tiny selection of bottled beers, including 5 Barrels (a solid alternative to the imports they offer if that's not your thing). In short, it's a reasonable value that suits quite well for lunch or dinner in a pinch. Not my fav, but nowhere near bad either. And, for $30 that gets you a delicious app (jalapeño cheese bread is money), two good-sized personal pizzas, a beer, and a soda -- I'd suggest it as a solid option for any pizza lover.

Maybe it's because Pizza is such a staple in Chicago - but this place could be so much better. The size of the pizza is great. The ingredients are in abundance. The atmosphere is great! But either the crust is too thick, or the oven temp was off when we went there. The edges were burnt, but the crust was soggy. The toppings needed to be cooked more. Maybe it was a bad night.

This is really great pizza in stripmall restaurant that lacks ambience unfortunately. The pizza is wood fired and hand assembled right in front of you. It is very close to Neapolitan pizza. The ingredients are fresh. The side salads are those great Broadstreet Restaurant salads you can still get at City Cafe as well. The beer selection is incredible for a little place like this and some of the experienced employees really know what they are doing and how to treat customers. I consider this and O'Neils the two best pizzerias in Rochester.

What a great idea: personal pizzas made as you want and baked in a wood fired stove. I had a simple cheese pizza to test out their basics and asked them to leave it in until the crust was a little blackened ala Grimaldi's of Brooklyn. The ingredients aren't top shelf but the end result is good enough that I would have come back to Pi if I was in Rochester for longer.

Consistently good pizza. Creative toppings. And they offer whole wheat crust, which to my surprise was quite tasty! I've tried many of the menu items and they have all been good. I debated between 4 and 5 stars but had to go with 4 as Pi is similar to other places that I've been to in other cities with a similar concept (order at the counter, personal size wood-fired pizzas). Nothing extraordinary or something that I find myself craving or would go out of my way to have, but good food at a reasonable price if I'm in the area looking for a bite to eat.

Wood fired pizza. Made very quickly! Delicious!

pi woodfire pizza is always a great choice for a quick lunch when I'm back in my hometown. Over the past year or so, I've visited a couple of times and have tried a couple of the different pizzas, my favorites being the BBQ Chicken and the Meat Pi. The pizzas are made to order and are made with fresh ingredients, thrown in the burner and delivered right to your table. I've always had really good luck, I really like the super thin crust, perfect amount of sauce and then topped with a good amount of toppings. I'm kind of suprised they only have one sized pizza, but if you are hungry or would like a snack during the middle of the afternoon, this is a pretty good spot. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant, it has the woodfire burning in the back corner and is very trendy. I don't know why, but I'm always a fan of the big long table in pizza shops, there is always something about it and if it was more busy it would be pretty easy to strike up a conversation. I'm also a fan of their frequent diner program, every 8 lunches you can get a pizza free. It would take me a while to get through it, but when eating with a group of people each and every time dining, we go through these cards quick and is a nice added bonus. For a pizza place this is one of the best in Rochester, very competitive with Mr. Pizza, but compared to the different great pizza places I've visited in Chicago and Indiana it doesn't quite make my 5 star criteria.

Great pizza! Fresh tasting ingredients!

I'm new to the Rochester area, but already I've found a mainstay! The pizzas at Pi were delicious - light, Italian-style crusts, and quality toppings. I had the Prosciutto and Spinach pizza (prosciutto, goat cheese, spinach, mozzarella, garlic, and crushed red peppers) and found the flavors to blend together very nicely without any one ingredient overpowering the rest. In short, Pi puts out tasty, individual-sized pizzas in an incredibly short amount of time. If you need a quick bite to eat, you'd be hard-pressed to find a faster place, especially given the quality of the end product. I did wish the main menu had fewer pizzas with bacon, though that is definitely personal preference/taste. I'm sure they would have held the bacon if I'd asked, and you can of course always build your own pizza.

This review is for the Pi stand at Rochester's Thursdays on First and Third event. I just had a slice today. It was $3, but it was also delicious... and how much is a comparable slice of Dominos or Papa Johns at events like this? Definitely a nice taste and ingredients tasted fresh. Recommended if you're walking around near the Mayo on Thursday around noon! I have to think the restaurant is equally delicious.

Best pizza in Rochester by a long shot. Many different options in terms of toppings. Made fresh right in front of you in a wood-fired oven. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Also kid friendly!

Best pizza in Rochester! Healthiest too! These are REAL pizzas like you find in Italy! Incredibly unique toppings! I have tried 2 different pizzas there as well as a salad and was thoroughly impressed with both! The pizzas are the perfect size for one person who might want some cold leftovers later that night or the next morning. :-) Also perfect for 2 to share just one pizza! If you are hungry then share a salad as well! Although the decor is quite inviting, it is definitely a fast food sort of restaurant. The tables are small and there are many of them very close to each other...you can tell it caters to the IBM lunch crowd! The service is very friendly and very fast! There is more spacious seating outside for when the weather is nice!

pi (all lowercase I think) is good, fast, pizza. The basic model is order at the counter and they deliver your pizza to the table, sort of like a pizza version of Culvers. Don't let the slightly upscale decor fool you - this is fast food pizza. They serve exactly one size of pizza, a generous personal pizza. The diameter is fairly large, but the crust is nice and thin, so it's not too much for a hungry person. They have a variety of toppings from pretty standard (pepperoni) to weird (reuben with corned beef, 1000 island, mozzarella, and sauerkraut). I'm sure I will go back, probably multiple times.
(4)Kara C.
Love it! The woodfire pizza is awesome. I always get the margarita pizza. I have a hard time getting my kids there. It's thin crust pizza and the pizza is not drenched in cheese. I go whenever I can, though!
(5)Tony R.
Great Pizza! Fresh and wood fired. all they serve is so to call personal pizzas which are a good size, they use all fresh ingredients (i think they even make their on cheese onsite) The pizzas are a little pricy, but it really is no more then going to a nicer sit down family restaurant.
(5)Greg W.
Pleasant atmosphere, pizza ok, wish it had more sauce, and toppings. Descent price for made to oreder wood fired pizzas. My pizza was on the dry side , my wife's crust was on the soggy side, so need to be more consistant.
(3)Billy N.
Personal sized good artisan style pizzas for 10 bucks. It's ok for lunch but ridiculous if you bring the family for pizza. No medium or large sizes so you can spend 60 bucks here for pizza for 4 if you want.
(3)Dave B.
Good pizzas with a lot of choices. Only one "single serving" sized, which could feed two people that do not have large appetites.
