I had carry-out from here, and I liked the pizza. Check it out if you're looking for pizza in Rochester. As others have said, the crust is a highlight. Crispy and crunchy, but not soggy. Slices were a bit challenging to get apart. It's as if they ran the slicer along the pizza, but it didn't cut through fully. I guess this adds to the charm.

Definitely the best Pizza in Rochester. Not to mention family owned and operated. This local gem has two locations. I believe they offer catering too. We had my daughter's third birthday at the North store. The service was great, as always, as was the food. The north location is more of a casual dining environment while the south local remains a quintessential "pizza joint'. Wine and beer available, full menu including pasta and sandwiches. Great for kids. The Fulton Family continues to do a great job with this concept.

Very good pizza, good lunch specials also. Worth a visit.

Good pizza. They do thin crust right, not burnt on the edges and soggy in the middle like some places. It's not in my top 5 pizza places of all time, but I'd definitely go back.

We came in from out of town to be seen at the Mayo. We had some pizza delivered to the Kahler Grand. BOTH OF IS GOT FOOD POISONING!!!!! 15 minutes after eating the Pizza, both of us were on the toilet with stuff coming out of both sides of our body. I didn't want to put them on blast on YELP but when I tried to call back to warn the manager. No one would answer the phone. Hopefully, they shut down the store so this could not happen to someone else. I tried calling for 2 hours. I stopped trying at 10:00pm. CHOOSE THIS PIZZA JOINT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!

Great service, had a bacon cheeseburger thick crust pizza. The pizza was loaded with toppings, and perfectly cooked. This will be the go-to pizza when in Rochester.

Had to go to Mayo Clinic twice and this was in walking distance of our hotel. Twice I got pizza from here and it was fabulous. I hope to never have to go to Mayo again but this pizza will be missed.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised! Read the reviews on Yelp and figured we would give it a go as opposed to our favorite delivery joint. Not mad about that decision at all! Pizza was really great with lots of toppings. They don't skimp out at all. They don't have a giant menu which is actually a good thing. Pretty basic toppings and a few unusual, it was an easy choice when ordering. I do wish they had a few more options for alcoholic beverages. Four beers from which to choose. Two bottled and two on tap. Overall a really nice experience.

$2.75 for a delicious and big slice plus fountain soda. This single slice filled me up. Mr Pizza is a home town classic!

Call me spoiled, I just moved to Rochester from the land of endless pizza possibilities and home to the famous deep dish...drum roll, please....Chicago, but I did not like Mr. Pizza one bit. I had been forewarned that the pizza options were slim to none in Rochester, so I was excited to read such high reviews for Mr. Pizza on here. Location is fine, older building, lots of booths and family pizza parties. Staff is young and high-school, but very pleasant. Not sure what kind of pizza we ordered, took waitress's recommendation, and hated it. Actually tossed my leftovers (very uncharacteristic of me). I'm sorry Mr. Pizza and die-hard Rochester fans, it was not for me.

We tried the place again despite the burned pie from our previous experience. We stopped by on the way home from work to order carryout. When I placed the order, I told the manager about half our order being inedible. I kinda got the feeling that he thought I was lying to him and was told, "If it happens again, let us know and we'll do something about it." I was a little upset that we weren't offered a coupon or a discount on our second order. While I waited for the pies to be cooked, I checked out the menu only to find that the "special" they'd been giving us was only $1 off the price of two pizzas. The menu did show that they have domestic pitchers of beer for $9 and that during lunch they have slices of pizza. It took them about 15 minutes to cook them, which is quick and appreciated. Anyway, both pies on this order were good. We've found that most of the Pizza places in Rochester have similar crusts that are kinda bland (We're spoiled and accustomed to NY Pizza though). However, the cheese and topping were very good and fresh. I do like the ground beef that they put on their specials, yet, it does give me heartburn (something I rarely get). We prefer the other location (Mr. Pizza North), but this one is so close that we'll be back when we don't want to make the longer drive.

We are visiting the Mayo Clinic and ordered a pizza from Mr. Pizza. It was one of the better pizzas that we have had. Lots of cheese and toppings. The one concern was the price. $28.00 for a 14inch with pepperoni, gr. Beef, onions, and mushrooms seems a little high. Now they did deliver it two blocks away by a taxi but we did not ask for that method of delivery. It's our fault for not asking for the price ahead of ordering it btu the pizza was great!

I am not from New York or Chicago...and Seattle isn't really known for their pizza so really, I'm easily pleased by pizza. And this was one of those cases. Oh, and I don't like deep dish pizza. So by now, most of you have probably stopped reading. I came here with a college friend and were looking for somewhere different from the 3 places I ate at all week to go to dinner. Pizza sounded good so Mr. Pizza we came. I'll be honest, the name of this place made me laugh...and a little skeptical...but it was perfect for our purposes. The service was quick and easy - we sat down and someone came to take our order. We ordered a medium size for the two of us with the the works. It was definitely big enough for two with a good amount left over. The pizza was thin crust (yay) and had so many toppings on it, it made me happy. There was so much sausage/pepperoni/good stuff that I actually took notice before shoveling it in my mouth. This feast for 2 was only about $16 which was a nice treat after having had $80+ meals all week. I can't promise you gourmet pizza but this place hit the spot.

Can't be any better than the classic!!! Best lunch special and amazing garlic bread and pizza. Great for the family and I'll keep going back.

BEST pizza I have ever had! Every pizza I eat is compared to Mr. Pizza. Moved from Roch in 1975, been in AZ for thirty-one years. I gave up hope of finding good pizza long ago until recently (in Tucson), but all pizzas are compared to Mr. Pizza. Terrific sauce and pepperoni, and cheese to die for. Whenever I'm back in Roch (maybe once a decade), Mr. Pizza is a must for me.

I love the fact that they have gluten-free pizzas and everything is definitely home made. My wife had one of their regular pizzas and thought it was good too. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely go back.

Probably deserves 3.5 stars. Hard to describe the style if you are not from around here. It's kinda the "more is always better" philosophy of pizza making. Lots of sauce, thick bready crust, lots of gooey cheese, lots of food service grade toppings.. Still, it works on a level that I can't really explain. I prefer their thin crust with light sauce. The bacon cheeseburger (ask for pickles) is actually pretty fun. For reference, I love chicago style deep dish and especially love Neapolitan pizza.

  • CM B.

Two stars because it was edible, just simply not very good pizza. We ordered the House Special. It was like Shepard's Pie, not pizza. I ate it. It filled me up. I thought the crust was like the pre-made from Walmart and lacked sauce. Fair amount of cheese. So if you want bland flavor, mediocre crust, negligible sauce, this is your place - I wouldn't go back. Too much good pizza in this world to give a second chance. Keep moving.

Pizza is ok. I like that its locally owned. It's a good cheap pizza though comparable to a big chain place or toppers but I was hoping for more.

This was terrible.... start to finish. I travel for work and was in my hotel room and just wanted a decent pizza... nothing special. I live in Chicago and was not looking to be impressed, just somewhat satisfied. The phone order was a pain, I had to call back when it was not here in over an hour. When the delivery guy showed up he actually held his delivery bag out to me and told me to take out my pizza.... I really did not even know how to react! The pizza tasted like stale crust... it was the stuffed crust and it was completely hollow. I also ordered mozzerella sticks and when I opened the box they looked like shriveled up freezer fish sticks. I could not even close to try one. This owner and manager should be completely ashamed.

Locally owned. Great place for kids and groups. I love the Thin Crust Sharon's Favorite and the garlic cheese bread is wonderful. The only thing I really don't like is that they use canned mushrooms, not fresh ones. This place is a must for any Rochester visitor.

One of the best pizza places in my mind. Whenever I'm in Rochester, Mr. Pizza and John Hardy's are my two favorite stops if I'm looking for food. There's a new location somewhere in NW west circle drive and that was ok but I still prefer the original spot on S. Broadway. We had many pizza parties here growing up.

  • Becci J.

I had this pizza delivered to my hotel once when I was in Rochester for some appointments at the Mayo. It's pretty good; the cheese was good quality, and it didn't have too much cheese on it, like some places. It wasn't spectacular, but it was still pretty good; I'd order from these guys again.

    (3)
  • Matt T.

Decent pizza. We ordered the Mac special which was loaded with toppings, perhaps so much so that we'll probably opt for fewer toppings next time. Garlic toast with cheese was very good. Interior was nice. Not a fan of the no refills on soft drinks.

    (3)
  • Dave A.

Very good pizza. They would rate five stars except for the $6 delivery charge.

  • Laurie S.

The pizza was very good. The service was not. My husband and two kids ended up drinking out of my water glass because their sodas were gone and no one ever came by. I even tried waving down the other waitresses to no avail! I finally had to get up and go ask for refills. I found her chit chatting in the back. Where they stand, they can't even see their customers. When she came out, instead of apologizing, she told us they didn't do free refills. OK, I can deal with that even though I don't believe anyone else does that. You would think that after spending $18 on a single pizza and not getting service they would have given us refills. We opted for the pitcher of water. At least I got a new glass after having the whole family drinking out of mine.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
