Good sushi! Fresh and tasty. Interesting rolls. Good service. Prices were OK...I was expecting more of a bargain considering it's in Minnesota but the prices were comporable to Milwaukee.

This is the best sushi in town! My favorite is the Rochester roll and smoked salmon.

Food is very good, best crab Rangoon in town. Service is very good. Very good price. My wife and I eat here often, and every time we leave happy. Defiantly will continue coming back.

Just as great as thier south location, but with a cooler bar. You just can't beat the price of thier all you can eat special.

Just as good as the SE Rochester version. I'm always a bit shocked by the prices, but the food is very good. Super fresh and super tasty.

Newly opened December 30, 2014 this is the second location of the widely popular Ichi Tokyo Japanese Restaurant on South Broadway which won Best Sushi 2014 by Rochester Magazine which has been going strong since 2012. Having followed this restaurant and its crew since its early days as Asian Kitchen in 2011 to now its fourth year and second location I'm happy to report that this latest northwest restaurant is no exception to the tried and true formula that has made Ichi Tokyo so popular: fresh and affordable sushi! Touting a widely popular yet common "All-you-can-eat" sushi menu that many a struggling metropolitan sushi bar may offer, Ichi Tokyo rather builds on this concept as a primary model to serve out a la carte artistic creations of rolls, sashimi, soups, appetizers, terriyaki, and hot dishes. Priced at about $25 per person with this option, this is no struggling fire sale of food, or a fly-by-night gimmick but rather a genuinely affordable option to explore the diverse offerings from a wide selection of Japanese cuisine. Replicating the south location in menu and pricing this new northwest location clones the quality, timeliness, and freshness expected from the best sushi place in town. Added to this location however is increased dining area seating and also a new hip bar that is expanded in size and has accents of LED illumination built within the countertop. When you have graduated from the all-you-can-eat menu or are taking out, be sure to try the King Salmon roll--my personal favorite. The Twin Spice and Mango Dragon roll are stellar too. In the months ahead I will add to this photo gallery the food served from this North location, however in the meantime check out the gallery from the South's images, much of which I have taken over the years as it serves to represent a replica of the food here. Many of the wait staff have transferred over from the South location and for now the head of the house is currently being run by veteran crew from the South location ensuring consistency between the two locations. The food is nearly identical to that which we have come to expect from Ichi Tokyo and it certainly did not disappoint. If anything this north location located just south of Flapdoodles in the Papa John's complex close to US-52 and 37th Street sports a less crowded parking area and seems more accessible, especially since a large portion of the more hipster sushi crowd of Rochester probably lives in the northwest quadrant. I always worry when we see two locations of a good thing pop up in Rochester because it usually splits the customer base between the two locations while doubling the costs (most recent example: the late Best Buy South anyone?), having been to Ichi Tokyo South on a Friday or Saturday night in the past few months however, and often encountering over an hour wait, this new Ichi Tokyo north location might actually be a wise and rational move as the demand for fresh sushi in Rochester, MN has not seemed to wane over the past two years, and if anything as word on the street continues to grow so do the new fans of Ichi Tokyo. I for one continue to uphold my endorsement of Ichi Tokyo as best sushi in Rochester, Minnesota and this new North location holds true to that statement. Here's wishing this North location as much success as its predecessor!

What a gem! $24.99 all you can eat high quality sushi. How does this man turn a profit? It's not a buffet though, every piece made upon ordering. I was in on business and tried it on a whim. Sashimi was fresh, portions copious. Blows away most sushi places in big cities. As good as any place I've been in the states (barring Nobu in NYC and San Diego). Definitely eating here again.
