The Grand Grill is located in the Khaler Hotel & near some key Mayo/ Methodist medical buildings in Downtown Rochester. That being said, I think that the main reason why this restaurant remains in business is due to it's prime location & a full bar. The food is over priced, bland, overly salted & leaves a lot to be desired taste wise. Denny's & Perkins trump this restaurant on many levels. If your looking for a quick place to eat I'd honestly advise you to go to Jimmy Johns or the hospital cafeteria before you waste your money and calories here. The service was just okay, ambiance is alright and the prices are high for far too many reasons. I know this is a hotel restaurant, but I travel a lot and this one definitely doesn't meet average or below average expectations of an "okay hotel restaurant".

I had a business lunch today (7/28/15) and had a wonderful experience. Our server was extremely on point and professional, and each dish my group ordered was delicious and presented well. We got: calamari, pot roast, Mac n cheese with bacon, chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries, and a soup and salad bar. Hanna Michaels runs a tight ship there and it shows!

I have eaten here several times over the past year while with family at Mayo Clinic. Without exception, the service is painfully slow, even when the restaurant is not busy. Plan for a one hour stay - not somewhere to go if you have a pressing appointment. The only reason I return is the conveniece for my elderly, wheel chair bound parents, although I would not consider it handicap accessible. While the taste is good, the food is regularly lukewarm, even when fresh off the grill. The salad bar is a limited option.

This place is very clearly made for... an older clientele. From the decor to the taste and plating of the food, everything about it screams "Hasn't changed since you ordered it in 1982!" Nothing was very good at all (except for the breakfast sausage and the Cinnabon they inexplicably had), and it's extremely overpriced. No complaints about the service, but the food is just not good. We would have been mad about it if we were at a small town diner where they charge $6 an entree, let alone a restaurant charging 3 times that.

We came here because it was our hotel restaurant and we like the bar adjacent to it. Onion rings aren't bad late at night when nothing else is open. The plate was pretty huge and came with your sauce of choice (BBQ for me). What was even better was chicken tenders - well fried, and batter sticks to the chicken. Extra bonus: they take the $5 green room vouchers from the Kahler hotel.

This is a quite good hotel restaurant/coffee shop. I didn't expect high cuisine and didn't get it, but it was well-cooked standard fare, a cut above many similar establishments. I wouldn't go there as a special place, but if one is looking for a quick meal and not feeling like the plastic chairs in the fast food places on the Mayo subway system, this will do nicely.

I'm in search for the best reuben in Rochester. And so far, this place is my favorite. The rye bread is crisply toasted and their mix of corn beef and sauerkraut with dressing blend harmoniously together and I love that it drips ever so slightly! Also, there are no weird zings or after tastes. Their homemade Navy Bean with Ham was complementary to the cool, crisp afternoon and I was comfortable and cozy to do paperwork for 2 hours without a hitch from the server or staff. The restaurant location is across from the Gonda Building, and makes it a convenient place to get lunch or even a mid-afternoon martini! The "Grand Grill" has a martini bar attached right to the restaurant. Who would've thought? The server highly recommended the items off their "Favorites" homestyle menu like their roasted chicken, pot pies and open faced sandwiches, but only when I'm burned out on the Reuben!

I ate there last night. The soup was superb, the prime rib barely adequate but I have had worse, the baked potato was a bit dry and butter was limited, as was the service. Salad bar was minimal and not well stocked.

We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Kahler Grand Hotel restaurants. Breakfast was exceptional! Huge portions of hot, delicious food. Our server was very friendly and professional. Great coffee and wonderful bread accompanied our selections. I had a loaded omelet with cheese, peppers, onions, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms. It was perfect! My husband enjoyed his generously sized skillet breakfast. It included sausage, cheese, eggs and lots of hash browns. Our lunch was a Philly Steak on a beautiful hoagie bun. Melted provolne, beautifully grilled onions and peppers. We requested some au jus for dipping. We were served a generous portion, and it complimented our sandwich perfectly. Our server at lunch was terrific. Helpful, attentive and patient while meeting the needs of every guest seated in her area. Julie is stellar and memorable. Another luncheon choice was a grilled Rueben. Piled high with tender, juicy corned beef - it was perfect in every way. We included sweet potato fries which were unimpressive. By the way - a very good dill pickle, lovely ripe tomato slice and a fresh, crispy Romaine lettuce leaf served as garnishments on the plate. All were enjoyed as a fine accompaniment. Our least impressive meal was a blah pasta Alfredo, which we upgraded with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were large and grilled to perfection. The pasta was soggy and flavorless. A fresh grind of pepper would have been appreciated, but was not offered. Our server was assigned too many tables to be attentive to our needs, and he did not ask if we would like dessert. The restaurants are a fine convenience for hotel guests and for the price and broad menu selections, very much appreciated!
