I went here today with my Mom on a whim. We love trying new places to eat while visiting Rochester and have definitely found someplace we will go back to! I had a tuna Sambusa and a chicken shawarma pita and my Mom ordered the chicken shawarma with rice. Everything was delicious! The food had excellent flavor and it is a super value too. The family who own this place are so friendly and genuinely love what they are doing. I can't wait to go back.

Aboba truly is a hidden gem. It is in between the Middle Eastern place and the bike shop. I ordered the sambusa, falafel pita and chicken shawarma with rice. The woman working there was so kind and friendly, and when she rang us up with out adding the chicken, she gave it to us anyway (in return, I promised I will be back, which I plan to uphold, especially after eating my delicious meal!) The sambusa is delectable! It is so flavorful and comes with a unique dipping sauce. The falafel was perfect, and it the balls were cut, which allowed me to scarf it down with out fussing. The chicken had such great flavors, and the sauces for both the chicken and falafel were also a nice touch. The rice with the chicken had a bay leaf, in my book that's a sign that a restaurant truly cares about the food they are serving.

The atmosphere is still under development, but the FOOD--WOW!! the owners obviously put their hearts and souls into creating an awesome dining experience for their guests. And the hot tea was incredible. Our party tried a little bit of just about everything on the menu, and every dish was outstanding. The sambusas are ridiculously good, and the kofte was some of the best I've ever had. We kind of wished we lived in Rochester so we could be regulars here. The consolation is they're thinking of eventually expanding to the Twin Cities. We'll be first in line!

This food, man... hits the spot! Just came back from stuffing my face with their delicious chicken pita, sambusa and steak and rice. The flavor profile? Like west india meets Africa. The sambusa was full of fennel and some other tasty things. 10/10 would eat again. Good service to boot.

Best Falafel I have ever had. So, so good. The new location (right next to the old one) is much nicer as well.

Great food. Served quickly by the friendly staff. Really inexpensive too for a very generously portioned meal. You can tell it's menu is made from scratch and they use locally sourced high quality meat. I will be back!

A hidden GEM. The best food we've eaten in Rochester. Great food made with heart. Adoba's deserves the Five Stars that it has on Yelp and we'll be back here often. The food is a fusion of Asian, Indian, and African cuisines. Great spices and really earthy flavors. The place is hard to find from the outside. We actually drove past it. See the picture I posted to help find the place. The inside decor isn't anything fancy. This is one of those hole-in-the-wall joints that we love. You place your order at the counter and they'll bring the food to you. For dinner we had Chicken Shwarma with Rice, Chicken Quarters with Rice, and Sambusa (how it is spelled on the menu, but they have it listed as Sumbusa as well). Hands down the Sumbusas were the best part of the meal. We gobbled them up and ordered five more to take home as a snack. The rice is fluffy with amazing seasonings. Each chicken dish was flavored differently and extremely enjoyable. I thought my wife's Shwarma was a tad dry, but she thought it was perfect. I loved the Quarters and really hope that it is a Special that they serve often (it is what I'd pick over the two). The food was cooked very quickly, so a great place to come for hangry patrons. We'd sit down and eat again, but will definitely try them for take out when we're tired and want something to eat in front of the TV besides pizza. Update (8/7/15): We tried one of their Sports Platters for takeout. Absolutely amazing. Three meats and a ton of rice for $25. You can pick what you want, but I just told them to surprise us. While I waited on the food, I talked with the owners. Great people and a great place. We could literally eat 100 Sumbusas too.

You want good food at a great price? Then this is the place! Goat, beef, chicken & the fish all taste great! Without any doubt this restaurant tops my list for Rochester!

This is hands down some of the best food I had in months. This place is a nice and tidy family run joint that offers excellent food for a great price. I had the meat sumbousa and the chicken shawarma with rice and my taste buds were celebrating every bite. The originality of the recipe and the fresh ingredients combined with the nicest modest attitude from the owner makes me want to go back for more. Chicken is tender and tasty, rice is cooked to perfection with gold and orange colors of saffron and the crunchy fresh dough of the samosa, in all a divine meal. Thank you!

Finally - food to get excited about in Rochester! People around town had told us Aboba's was terrific, and our expectations were high, so we were surprised that we were still amazed at how good the food is at this cute little (hole in the wall) restaurant on 7th Street NW. Unbelievably delicious is all I can say! Ample portions, perfectly spiced and seasoned, were quickly delivered to our table by the very friendly owners, while their adorable little daughter kept us entertained. It was a little hard for us to find this place, but it was definitely worth it. We're thinking this is our new go-to place for delicious and healthy meals.
