Really, good comfort food however our experience was bad! We had a large group with several children. The restaurant chose to seat a group of 8 really loud, crude, inconsiderate and drunk men next to us. Normally, I'd say "bad luck" and not the restaurants fault - but not this time. The group included the owner's (Jackie) son! These guys were so loud we could not hear anyone at our table talk and their conversation was really inappropriate for a family. It seemed like all they talked about was partying, the great "brown acid" they used to take, the blue (Viagra) and yellow pills they all took now and their resulting sex. Kind of difficult to explain this to your eight year old daughter on the way home!! They were so loud it was impossible to ignore them. At one point the owner stopped by to ask if we were bothered by them but it was so loud I couldn't really hear her! Really? Why not just do something about it?? Send these guys to the strip bar - and ask them to come back another day for dinner! $300 to sit next to this for two hours (the owners son and his buddies!) - not to mention an owner and staff who apparently didn't feel any need to take control and do something about it - was disappointing! Bad choice. Not again! P.S. The food is good ( not to be confused with healthy), the service was just OK. Way to overpriced through. You can get better food m, atmosphere and service for a lot less!

We've been here twice- 11 years ago, and yesterday. The first time, we thought it was overpriced and meh. Last night, the food was great, and just a little expensive. The ambiance is the best in the area. We had the sunfish (yummy!) and fried shrimp (big and delicious). The wine flights, both red and white, were great. The only downside was waaaay more kids than what I would have expected at a place like this (including a very ill behaved toddler who threw things and yelled the entire time) and kind of slow service. I can definitely see us going back again for a special night, but we will be requesting seating away from kids.

Brought my wife to the "ridge" and all was awesome ! It is a bit expensive but it keeps to the special occasion type atmosphere!

Norway has always been a favorite. We save it for special occasions. The food is always fabulous, the decor is very homey and wait staff friendly and helpful. Just bring your big wallet because you'll need it - but worth it if money is not an issue. Best of the best right here!

Really good selection of seafood. I got the Greek Isle Shrimp and it was fabulous. The salad and mashed potatoes were amazing too. This place was cute and quaint. I would definitely come here if you're in the Brainard area and want good food. Most of the seafood and steak items were between $25 - $31 but they come with salad and side of potatoes too.

This is my fav place to go every year when my family spends a week on the Whitefish chain. The food here is, I think, the best in the area and their service is very good for the area. They are friendly and efficient. I have for the past several years always ordered the same thing - the tenderloin kabobs and I think they are awesome. My mom got the scallops the last time they were here and they were delicious also. My dad, who is 80 and eats like a bird, devoured his entire chicken Caesar salad. And they have fun after dinner drinks and desert items. I also like there is a little knick-knack store next door where you can bring the kids to kill a little time and get something for them to play with as they pass the time waiting for the food. If your in the area, I recommend this place. After 36 summers, this place continues to be my fav.

We were pleasantly surprised by the food. Had dined there in the past and the food was good but not outstanding, however this time the food was outstanding. Evidently there is a new chef and he really knows what he is doing! The crab stuffed salmon was perfection and the smoked prime rib was excellent. We enjoyed the salad dressings, and the ambiance has a cozy up-north feel. We look forward to dining there again soon.

Absolutely splendid! The ambiance was quaint, charming, and above all, warmly welcoming; the service was superior; and the food, from the salad to the molten chocolate dessert, was outstanding. The salad greens were crisp and fresh and the blue cheese dressing was perhaps the best I have had. Upon a recommendation from our server, I ordered the Scallops Carbanara - oh my, absolutely delicious! I also tried the Parmesan Potato Peels - very tasty. My husband enjoyed the evening's special, top sirloin, and my husband's parents loved the Walleye Almondine. We shared a bottle of Disneo Malbec - it was a wonderful choice. We finished our dinner by sharing a chocolate molten cake dessert - need I say more? Very very rich and chocolatey. Our server, Clayton, was both knowledgeable and professional.. His infectious smile and delightful personality truly made our experience memorable. I highly recommend taking time to visit this restaurant if you are in the Lakes Area. If you are planning to dine here on a weekend evening, I suggest you consider making reservations.

Loved this spot! On a weekend "up north" was looking for a place to have a nice meal with my husband...something cozy, with wine. This place was perfect! Staff was incredibly nice, food was great. My highlight was the wild rice soup, while my husband enjoyed the smoked ribs and chicken. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Crosslake!

Their house made dressings are something to write home about and the sourdough batter onion rings are a must. However for the price they charge their entrees are lacking and their wine selection is so so. I would rather get an amazing meal at bar harbor that is practically the same price but the entrees are phenomenal and a guarantee good all around meal.

This is a darling place and it is so close to where we live, so we really want to like it, but each time we go, we have the same disappointing experience - Fish (salmon or walleye) smells 'fishy', even with almonds or lemon and the menu is the opposite of healthy food. There was only 1 vegetable available - sweet corn. Nothing green but the salad. Sure wish the owners would update their menu to offer some healthier choices!

Went here for the last night of our mini moon, I had all you can eat ribs and my wife had the grilled salmon. We both enjoyed the salad with what seemed to be homemade ranch. The rolls were great and her wine and my beer were brought to us quickly. Our server was great and helpful, the ribs were good, I had the fried peeler potatoes which were pretty tasty! My wife's salmon was good, not great but her garlic mashed potatoes were worth the trip. All in all a cool spot, good food and nice atmosphere. Wore a nice tshirt with khaki shorts and I wasn't underdressed. Definitely hit this place up and get off the resort food! Two meals and a drink each for $85 with tip, go with an appetite!!

Very good dining experience. They say the walleye is huge and it is - probably the best value on the menu. Cocktails well made, wine list adequate. Beautiful setting in the Minnesota northwoods. We were there on the crab leg all you can eat night. 58 bucks. No one in my group got it and I didn't see many leaving the kitchen, but I could be wrong. 58 bucks for an entree in this setting and zip code seems out of place and a misstep into the deep end of the pool.

Consistently good. Been to Norway Ridge several times in the past decade and it does not disappoint. Got the Alaskan king crab legs, $39 for a pound and a half. I assume it's hard to mess up steamed crab with butter so this lived up to my crab-loving standards. $59 gets you all you can eat! I didn't go for that and here's why -- normally king crab is cut lengthwise for you so you just have to crack it and out comes the crab. Here they don't cut the shells at all for you. You do get a handy cracker and scissors but I can't work this hard for my food. It was cold by the end with my loving husband helping me crack. Au gratins are good with a side of sour cream & salad is good with their homemade dressing. My mother-in-law got the duck and it was incredibly dry. Husband got the prime rib and it was too fatty, au jus was more like a gravy so he said he wouldn't get it again. Father-in-law got the whale sized walleye and it looked good but he didn't really comment either way. For non-bar food in the area, Norway Ridge is still the best I've found.
