Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Came here for a Saturday evening dinner with my family that lives in New Prague. Living in Minneapolis, I may be biased, but this food was not as authentic as I can find on Lake Street or at Midtown Global Market. The menu has all the traditional items you'd expect to find at a Mexican restaurant. The fajitas had so much salt on them and in the seasoning I was drinking water all night, and the following day. I'm not sure what sort of sauce they are using, but it is nearing toxicity with all that sodium. The rice and bean plate that comes with many of the entrees is incredibly underwhelming, the rice is quite flavorless, the beans are salty and I was hoping for more guac than just a spoonful. Another person in my party agreed that the fajitas were overly salted. I do appreciate that they play Latin American music, I can't tell you how many times I got to a Mexican restaurant and I hear 80s or 90s music or rock playing. They give you free chips & salsa (the salsa is quite good, has a small spicy kick to it), which is a nice perk - many restaurants in Minneapolis no longer offer them for free. The food comes out fast, and was very hot. The service was good, the staff was attentive and split our bill, which is always helpful in large parties. I can say that other people in the party did seem to enjoy their meals - but living in Minneapolis, traveling to Mexico multiple times (and I'm not talking about just eating at large resorts complexes), I've had much more authentic and flavorful food. I got the impression the seasoning came from premade sauces in packets, and like I said - the amount of salt used was completely unnecessary and over-the-top.

YUMMMMM!!!!!!!!! Love this place!!! They have menu's you can bring home with you and the prices are not a hidden secret. They have a punchcard program for frequent people...like myself. ITS DELICIOUS!!!! Large menu and good drinks! My favorite! Good for large groups or just you two...or bring the little ones. Sopapias(where's the spell check) for desert is great or the fried ice cream. Fun for birthdays...call ahead to make sure they sing and bring out the hat or else the birthday boy or girl might talk them out of it. I call ahead to give them the heads up for large groups (proper to do for every large group at every sit down restaurant FYI) since reservations are not required. ENJOY!!!

Good Mexican food. I grew up on Mexican food and I am very picky. The food is not only very traditional but is also very welcoming to anyone who has never tried traditional Mexican food. The service is also very good and make the experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend it, for a quick bite to eat, or a fun night out with fun satisfying dishes to try, good drinks and good service.

Wow! Family of five from Albuquerque reporting in. Everything is very good. Enchiladas, chalupa, burritos, all good. You can ask them to spice it up and they will add chopped jalapeño. Add a roasted jalapeño for even more fire. They have home made fried ice cream!

This place is just not for me. From drinks to desserts u did not like this place at all. I ordered horchata and my cup still had clumps of the powder mix they used! Unbelievable!!

Good food and outstanding service. We sat down here one evening and had an excellent meal. The food was good with generous servings but what stuck out the most was the friendly and fast service. I wasn't the craziest about the nachos but overall we had a wonderful meal and will be back again.

Asked for a veggie burrito. First quoted as $10. I said that seemed awfully steep for a veggie burrito. Then informed that I could actually get a Lunch Special veggie burrito for $6.95. I get in my car and find it is only a tortilla and pinto beans. That's it. Que lastima. I called to make sure I hadn't gotten a sad little burrito by accident. Way too expensive.

Absolutely pathetic and horrible service each and every time I have been there!! They will scam you every chance they get too!! Watch your check and you will see!! They tried to a few people at next table also! Chips are always stale and cold... Salsa is actually pretty good! They will only bring you a very small amount though and very small amount of chips and charge you for more!! Food is average at best! Margaritas are some of the worst I have ever had for a large price!! Did I say that service is always terrible and you have to ask two sometimes three times for things!!? Please do yourself a favor and do not give these crooks any business! It has happened more than once! You ask why went back? Because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and think they actually made a mistake! After this last time I know that is not true! I will never ever go back!!! Update! I called back and asked price and they double scammed me!! Charged for larger size and full price instead of the special 1/2 price for second!! Seriously go anywhere else that is honest!!

This is a hard review to write because this place used to be so good! For a small town, they have tried very hard to make it an authentic Mexican restaurant. But there is always a temptation to cut corners and I am pretty sure that this is what we experienced the last time my family stopped by here. First of all, our waitress was terrible and rude. My family is not one of those families that have a "this is your job, serve us" attitude, all we expect is to be treated kindly and to be served in a friendly and prompt manner. We experienced none of that. Our waitress sighed, rolled her eyes, avoided our table, and basically showed no care for our table whatsoever. And all we were asking for was the common things like drink refills and our check! My mother-in-law had to get up and find another staff member or else we would have never gotten drink refills. Unacceptable. The food wasn't that spectacular either. You could really notice the cut corners here. I ordered fajitas and they were very disappointing. The peppers that came with it were mostly green, maybe a few slices of another color. There was NO cheese, and a teaspoon serving of sour cream and guacamole. I also had to wait almost ten minutes to get my tortillas, so had wonderful cold fillings. Uh, this place used to be very good. I know my father-in-law said he would never be back and wouldn't be surprised if others follow suit. The only thing that is saving this restaurant is that they are in a small town and have very little competition to go up against. Sometimes you don't know how bad something is until you compare it.

Bug in the margarita, quesadilla with way too much regular cheddar cheese that had little to no browning on the tortilla, chimichanga with 70/30 bean to chicken ratio, not a hint of authentic flavor anywhere. I know, i know.....you got a quesadilla and a chimichanga what did you expect? Something much better I guess. 2 out of 5 with a location adjustment. .5 out of 5 if this was anywhere you would expect decent Mexican food.
