There is a dichotomy to Mirage Bar and Grill. On one hand, I really liked the food. We started with spring rolls. These were great. They remind me of the ones I used to get at Lien Son. I had a beef Pho. I am a Pho noob. I enjoyed it. There were a lot of different flavors and it was spicy to my linking. My wife had an Egg Noodle soup. More of a bowl of food with broth on the side. She really enjoyed these. On the other hand, the place is a bit worn. The hostess was in the back when we arrived and appeared to be running the place herself. Lack of attention to detail wasn't due to sloth or indifference. Yet there it was. I hope they can get over whatever challenges they are having as otherwise we enjoyed ourselves.

This our go to neighborhood pho restaurant and for it being in the middle of New Brighton, it's fantastic! It's Surprisingly authentic and very consistent. Yes, it's a hole in the wall, but the food more then makes up for it. So be patient because they literally only have 2-3 employees, and you'll be rewarded with Viet food that is just as good as the pho served on eat street in Minneapolis. Don't forget to try the Vietnamese grilled pork Sandwiches, they make the bread themselves! In fact, I am going to split a sandwich with my wife and have some bun Bo hue..BTW- I am Vietnamese and come from a family of restaurateurs..my mom use to own Pho Shop on university avenue..

The pho and banh mi sandwiches here are the bomb. It tops many of the restaurants here in the twin cities if not the best and it just opened up about two years ago! The price of their best pho which is the combination is very cheap compared to other pho restaurants such as iPho, and Viet Noodles. I come here at least once a month. I used to come here every week until I realized I spent too much money on pho because It's just that good! The lady owner is also very nice and sweet. This place used to look more run down but she had it remodeled very well especially the back area of the building where the dance floor and stage used to be. Plus It's still continuing to be remodeled! The lady is a successful business owner with the restaurant. She knows what she is doing while serving great food! Something that can be worked on is that sometimes she forgets customers if they come to a table of people late. The pho is also just all one sizes unless you ask for extras which isn't bad unless you prefer smaller portions. Other than that this place is the best in the twin cities!

Judging on the outside look it really does look like a no-go restaurant. But once you've tried it you will come back for more. Food is great and so is the service but only one server so it does take awhile to get your plates. 4.5/5

This place it's a hole in the wall, so if you come here, most likely you will have the whole restaurant to yourself. There are two sides to Mirage, one side is the Vietnamese restaurant and the other is the bar. I was skeptical at first about the restaurant side, but I got over that real quick when the food arrived. The portions are generous, the tastes are even yummier that the look! Eat pho or any other soups here and you'll won't be dissappointed. Also, my favorite appetizer there are egg rolls and the Mirage chicken wings. Yum! My friends and I left here full as a blown balloon and wanting to come back the next day.

Don't let this place fool you on appearance, go and try the food it was amazing. The chicken lo Mein was some of the best I had and a very generous portion, the fried rice was comparable to Que Viet which I love, and the egg rolls were pretty good too. And while I was there 3 tables came in for the Pho so I'm assuming that is good as well.

Food is good. Pho is consistent. Service could be better at times. All the 10+ times I've been here there has only been one waiter/waitress working so it can get a little backed up when there are a lot of customers.

I remember coming here when they first opened up and thought it was unusual for them to be connected to a now-closed American dive bar. Having dined in and done take-out several times, I can say that they do have pretty good Vietnamese food, with the pho and mi kho definitely sticking out in my mind. However, they do not give as much meat as Quang's. In terms of service, they only have one person who seats people, does take out orders, take food orders, serves the food, and cleans up. This proved to be problematic during my last visit where 80% of the tables had customers and the rest were left with piles and piles of dirty dishes. Because there was only one person working the front, it took us an unbearably long time for our orders to be taken and to have our food served. It would be highly valuable for them to hire an extra person during the rush hours on the weekend as I am sure that this type of experience has left people (including myself) to not return.

Felt like a converted salsa dancing bar into a Vietnamese restaurant. Pho was good, but atmosphere was off.
