Best wings I've had in the area. They aren't breaded so you get a nice crispy skin and they come with enough sauce to cover the wings! As they should. I seriously don't get the appeal of dry rubbed or greasy, breaded wings. The buffalo and siracha lime sauces are the tastiest. Tracy, please never change your wings!!!

Food is above-average quality for bar food. My boyfriend and I come here a lot as we live nearby and are totally addicted to the sauteed broccolini and the dry rub wings. The dry rub is very similar to Shorty and Wags, for those that are familiar. The broccolini is always perfectly crisp-tender and seasoned with lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. We've tried their totchos also and I didn't really care for them, but I'm not really into tater tots in the first place. Between the tots, sour cream, salsa and melted shredded cheese the dish was one big mush, whereas I prefer my nachos crunchy--texture is a big thing for me. We never seem to make it there during happy hour. The couple of times we have, the drink specials were meh. $4 Summit EPA pints and 1/2 price margaritas. I HATE Summit of any kind so I ordered a margarita...and could barely choke it down. Cheap margarita mix + cheaper tequila = acid reflux city. Don't be a cheapo like me; just pay full price for something you know you like. I'm not sure if they typically have security there; I don't think I have ever seen any, but if they don't, they really should. The last two times we've been there, there's been crackheads loitering about and harassing patrons for money both outside and inside the place. This most recently occurred this past Saturday night around 7pm, and one other time around 9pm on a weeknight--point being, these incidents weren't isolated or limited to typical late-night antics that can sometimes occur in bars. Let's face it, this is not the best neighborhood. It's not terrible, but it's not great. There is a large transient population that hangs around this 'hood. Usually that's a non-issue, but it is something to keep in mind if you're rollin' solo.

Seward has plenty of businesses I frequent, so it's only natural that I've stopped into Tracy's a few times for drinks - and have been pleased with my experiences. They have a good beer selection but also make a killer bloody mary for those Sundays when hair-o-the-dog is just what you need. While I've never tried the food yet, it seems to have options for carnivores and vegetarians alike, but it does get busy and the times I've come for dinner, it's been too packed. It seems mid-afternoon or late night works best if you don't feel like waiting for a table to open up. As for the environment itself, the place has a clean and cozy vibe without being stuffy OR overly casual. While I haven't encountered the happy hour wooden nickel promotion yet, I've heard enough about it to want to take advantage one of these days! The bar is a bit small but worth bellying up to if you're able. Bartenders are often friendly and just chatty enough.

One of the best deals in town. Went there Monday night for half price burgers. It also happened to be 'wooden nickle' happy hour after 8pm. So we got two burgers and four good beers for $20! And to top it off I've never had a bad dish there. One foodie friend of mine said the fish & chips they ate there were the best they've ever had. Check out their Cheap Date night on Fridays for $29.

Authentic, neighborhood bars. If you live in the 'burbs, they simply don't exist. If you live in the city, they are on the endangered species list. Tracy's does neighborhood dive bar well but ups the ante by having some great tap beer options and a good menu. Really enjoyed a curry/rice/chicken dish with a pint of Surly Furious. The spicy curry with the hoppy IPA was a great combo. The gal behind the counter was super friendly, experienced, and a bit of a character, all traits that lend themselves to this kind of joint.

Tracy's is a warm, unpretentious neighborhood place (I live in Uptown so that's a welcome change in attitude and ambiance). What I tasted of the California burger was delicious. I was very hungry so chewing was a luxury I could barely afford. My fella's wild boar shepherds pie was surprisingly good, gamey in a good way, and piping hot. This is not your run-of-the-mill pub food. Tracy's is worth a trip to Seward, I'd say, for above average food, the smell of fresh popcorn wafting through the place, and polite service.
Better-than-average bar food with a good beer selection. Laid back vibe. If that's what you seek, you'll be happy. The free popcorn went away with the remodel though. Guess they're too fancy for that shiz now. If you want something special, this ain't it. (Unless you first met your boo here years ago and you come in to share some wings on your anniversary. Otherwise no.)

Yet another place I've been putting off all these years. My server was the bartender, John. He was so awesome. I sat at a high top by the window, for the light. He immediately directed me to half price apps, on a Saturday, sweet. I got the hummus, and it was just as good as any middle East place. It's on a bed of shredded lettuce, which I will order without, too messy. On the platter is enough other stuff for a salad, including feta cheese. I love that they have a signature beer cheese soup daily. Watch out, it's more ale than cheese, so get that designated driver. Though not a classic Irish pub, they have a shepards pie with boar. I can't wait to try that. Oh, 99 I love you.

Several wing flavors. Can't decide which one you want? Don't worry, you can split your order between two. That's what I did! Got the buffalo wings and the bbq wings. The BUFFALO wings were naked (not breaded) and doused in sauce. They reminded me a lot of the wings at Runyons in the way that frying them un-breaded made the skin a bit tougher. The BBQ wings were the same fried wings, but with a tangy sauce that dripped. For me, it would have been nice if they were grilled or maybe finished off in the oven...they were just too wet. In total there were about 10 wings which should have cost me $10.25. However, to my surprise this appetizer was 1/2 priced and so were the fries I got. The fries were good and plentiful. The were a bit salty for me (which is a rarity) but other than that I really liked them. Skinny, crisp and light! They were served with an aioli which was okay alone but even better when combined with ketchup. To wash it all down, I tried the Caribbean Cosmo which was a steal at $7.25 and they didn't skimp on the liquor. I don't typically get/like cosmos, but enjoyed this one; it wasn't strong upon first sip, but it eventually the alcohol caught up with me. That's how I like my drinks (slow and steady)! Overall, majority of their cocktails were priced really well. They have ample seating, and space in the dining area to accommodate larger groups. At the bar they have two smaller TV's, but with the bar being emptier and the volume being up...I still couldn't hear anything. Service was fine, nothing friendly or outstanding, but also nothing rude or slow. If I was in the area on an early Saturday evening or late evening, yes I'd consider returning; especially when you consider my entire meal (including drink) was only $15.88. YAY for Happy Hour!!!

SCORE! We gave Tracy's another chance a couple of days ago. They are a different place altogether service-wise. It's such a treat because their food has always been crave-worthy. They were busy and still, the moment we sat down our waiter was there to great us. He didn't rush us, just let us know that he saw us come in. Everyone who waited on us was both friendly and energetic. None of the "doing you a favor by noticing you. I hate my life. Sigh." Now that the service matches the food, no one is going to need to twist my arm to return. Tracy's has the best fries. Please try the Kirby burger. This place loves to do specials like date night deals and different burgers. Worth a peek at their website to see what's going on. The Totchos are fantastically good. Tater tots and cheese - who knew?

Tracy's is a decent bar with great bar food. I had the vegetable curry, which was delicious. The apricot chutney was fantastic, but I do think that the curry could have used a few more veggies and more rice. It was pretty much red pepper (big slices) and cilantro in a great curry sauce. Potato, cauliflower, peas, carrots - any traditional curry veggies would have been a welcome addition. I also had a cosmopolitan, which was fine - nothing to brag about. My friend ordered a Manhattan and it came out in a martini glass and had a ton of vermouth. I'd say the beer and the food is great. It's also super loud in there and the bathrooms are some of the most awkward I have been in. If you are concerned about handicap accessibility, the bathrooms are a challenge.

Tracy's is just my favorite place to eat in Minneapolis for a regular night out, my neighborhood go-to. Since we live in Seward, it's nice to have a place that offers affordable, yet delicious, food and drinks. Their food and drink specials are great, and you are most likely to find us here on Tuesdays for wing night (the Tracy's rub is so good!) Beyond the wings, the quality of the plated meals is really unexpected from a place that looks so dive-y from the outside (with things like Curry and Steaks) The mid-week dinner special is always a really great value. Other things that are oddly delicious-the garlic Broccolini, the stuffed dates and the garden salad with chicken in the Tracy's hot sauce. The service always kind of sucks, but you can only ask for so much, right?

I have never had any luck getting a table here and this is my third separate visit. I am sure it is great news for the business but really awful to wait 30-45 minutes for a table that will never become available because the business has no real system to usher waiting patrons. Sorry, "just stand around and wait" doesn't work.

I used to come to Tracy's all the time for work happy hour. I absolutely love the wooden nickel happy hour nights. It's basically 241, but you can save them up and come back and drink for free (with tip of course!) I don't come here as often, but I did notice the free popcorn is gone, super sad because I think this was best free popcorn. Oh well. The dart boards are gone as well, but they were kind of dangerous. Other than some of my favorite pastimes missing Tracy's still seems to deliver. The service is generally efficient and friendly, serving a small but decent variety of beers. While I've never tried the food, it smells good, and they have some crazy good HH deals. HH M-F from 4-6:30pm and again at 8:30-11pm. It's like the earliest late night if you are looking for a deal that comes before 10. They have drink and food specials during these times, changing with the day. There is a small parking lot out back, but usually plenty of street parking. Check it out!

Tracy's is my favorite neighborhood bar of any neighborhood ever. Their happy hours are varied but consistent, and the 2 for 1 wooden nickles are genius. Their food is far better than standard bar food and they have a good selection of beer. As a bonus their free popcorn is the best bar popcorn I've had - not too salty... but salty enough. Great bar environment. Show up early on burger night, and keep an eye out for the creamy potato dill soup. AND LIKE, 3.50 BLOODIES DURING BRUNCH HOURS? YES PLEASE. I really like their bloody. It's classic, not a lot of fixings, and their olives actually are the only bad thing I've ever experienced at Tracy's, but I still order it time after time. Plus the 3.50 deal really is unbeatable. It's a tall glass, not watered down.

A surprising classy place to eat and drink despite it's "bar-ey " appearance. The food is good, with plenty of vegetarian options,and a variety of happy hours. Pretty decent veggie burger, fries and a malt if you're craving something "All American " for less than 15$. Also a tasty vegitarian pasta and a brownie worth trying . 4 stars for the wings and the beer. 2 stars for the service. 3 stars overall. I went for happy hour today with a co-worker who raves about the wings here. They were quite good. Went with the BBQ. 9 bucks for 10 wings. Lot of meat and lot of sauce. Much better than a BW3 but not as good as D-Spot (but no beer at D-Spot). Best to go on Tuesdays for the Wings from what I understand when they are on special and have a new flavor of the week each Tuesday. The two stars on the service is no knock on the friendliness of the staff. They were just outnumbered by customers too much where they couldn't keep up. They only had one bartender and one server for the tables. I waited what felt like ten minutes to get my first beer. When my co-worker arrived he waited probably fifteen minutes for his first beer, no exaggeration. It was also a really long wait for the food to come out. Bartender was cool, though, and apologized for the delay. He recommended the Surly Wet. I had never had it before, and it is awesome! Similar to a Bell's Hopslam. Unfortunately, you can only get it in a ten ounce glass because of the high ABV on it. I will go back. They have a bunch of other stuff on the menu that I would like to try - rainbow trout, apple cured ribs and prawns with ginger noodle to name a few.

There's always an interesting crowd consisting of the surrounding Riverside and Seward neighbors, plus bikers rolling through on Franklin. Tracy's is my jam!

I've been twice now and both times it was busy, but with places to sit. And you can hear the people you're with! I also really like all of the old Minneapolis things on the wall. There is a great panorama of old Metropolitan Stadium on one of the walls that I would like to stea-- I mean, find one of my own someday. They have a decent beer list and 1/2 price margs on Fridays. It's also nice that Seward Cafe is right across the street... you could now go between here and Seward for their late night happy hour or if you wanted a different food option over there. HOWEVER, are you a tater tot fan? Good choice. Are you a fan of nachos? Thank goodness, because the Totchos* are amazing! Seriously, get them.

Tracy's is the perfect bar for the Seward neighborhood. It's definitely old school, but they also have an excellent beer/food menu. I went on a Monday with a couple of girlfriends for this great deal they have where all the burgers are half-off from 5-midnight. We also were there for the excellent happy hour. I think it's $2 off all the appetizers, $2 Miller Lites, and $3.50 rails? Pretty good! I was tempted with the house-pickled eggs, with the happy hour, they were a buck. Next time! I got the Kirby burger...a burger with cheddar, homemade(!!!) pickles, and 1000 Island dressing. I also got the tots, which are $0.50 extra and well worth it. The burger was huge...not to mention $4.50. I think I had two of the Miller Lites, and my meal ended up being $10.50 for everything. That's insane considering the quality. My good friend lives across the street from here, so I can't wait to come back. Bonus:free popcorn!

Great tacos, awesome drink specials, foosball (even if I suck). I have not had any issues with service. Lots of bike parking and in a cute neighborhood. I really have nothing bad to say about Tracy's - never had a bad experience. Good food, good beer, good prices and ok service have made Tracy's our go-to place for post-soccer nourishment. I was initially skeptical when Tracy's was suggested, as the outside of the bar intimated divey-ness, but I have since been proved wrong. Looking for a cheap snack with your beer? Can't go wrong with crispy tater tots! They have totchos too, but I found them a little bland. Looking for a protein fix? How about their mixed grill, it has well-cooked land and sea animals! Looking for an excuse to drink a lot of beer? Try the red curry, it's pretty spicy even for me and comes with crispy lentil chips! Every bit is delicious but requires multiple gulpings of booze. Haven't tried their homemade soups yet, but there's a new one for every day of the week. Like underwear, but edible. I'm aware of edible underwear but let's not go there. Most everything is cooked on the premises yet the prices are really reasonable. This makes it attractive to hipsters and foodies as well as keeping the old-timers. I'd come here more often if I lived in Seward.

Gave it two stars because this used to be our neighborhood haunt, but it's been getting fancier and fancier every year. We figured they would eventually price the old regulars out, and after they rehabbed the place this winter they finally did. Nothing on the menu under $10 bucks, and the happy hours are ridiculously short now. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Still got enough places in the neighborhood if we want cheap, and if we want to pay Tracy's prices, there are better selections too. Based on what I've seen lately, we aren't the only formerly loyal patrons who are going elsewhere.

They have an excellent Friday night date special. I think it is like $25 for two entrees and wine. Also good burger selections.

Tracy's has great "bar" food, but have also been expanding their menu the last few years. My favorite thing about Tracy's? Weekday evening happy hours. We'll talk about the pros of this place shortly. But let's first start off with a big con. It's important to start with the Tracy's major downside. Because if you want to get the best of this place, you have to know this: the quality of the food here is not consistent. Don't worry, though. Because the good news is that it's not all chaotic. It follows a certain pattern. I've been frequenting this place since 2008 and I discovered that the quality of their food is inversely proportional to the number of people dining here. It sounds simple. But it's based on a carefully designed research method constituted of scientific experiment, measurement, sampling, and close observation. Now that I reveal the pattern, it's not simply a hypothesis. It's now officially a theory that explains the inconsistency in their food quality! I entertained different possibilities (change of cooks, change of suppliers, inconsistency of my mood, etc.) and no hypothesis other than the one I just talked about explains the problem in hand. Now, whenever I go to Tracy's I bring this chart with me. I count people sitting in there and see what quality I could expect!! Having this con in mind, here are the reasons why this place is better than your average bar: 1- The beer selection is nice. 2- The food menu is extensive and satisfies a wide range of tastes. 3- They have excellent happy hours and daily specials (my favorites are their half-priced burgers and wooden nickles.) 4- Unlike many other places, their Cajun burger is, as expected, hot! 5- Free popcorn!

Ah, Tracy's. I love this place. Pros: food and drink specials EVERY night (including wooden nickles on a couple nights, which is like 2 for 1's but better), bar trivia on Wednesday, really good food (some standard bar fare (I love their burgers, many people clamor over their wings but I'm not really a wing guy) but also several interesting entree options like curry or mixed grill shishkabobs), free popcorn, nice enough interior. Cons: a little small so it can easily get packed during the busier nights/specials (wooden nickles especially so), dirty bathroom, the location isn't the most convenient. All in all one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis. Definitely worth checking out!

Met some new fun people here today for an afternoon drink as an intro. to our new city... Our bartender was friendly but not overzealous, and had some nice suggestions on the coffee drinks when I ordered a Bailey's and coffee- "Have you ever had a Drunk Monk?" and I am glad I took his advice. The vibe is fun and casual, and I look forward to coming here again. The only reason I gave Tracy's 4 stars and not 5 is that the Oregon Pinot Noir was not available by the glass... I have a soft spot for Oregon Pinots... =D

Pretty solid for a shitty bar but it gets really busy and that's where the fun stops for me. It's often a pain in the arse to find a table and then you end up shouting at your companions or not talking at all. It's good for cheap drinks I guess, if you follow their specials, but drinking stale Miller Lite is pretty disgusting. It seems like they've tried to step up the food into a quasi-upscale thing and what I had recently (can't even recall the dish) was a little bland and bizarre. I preferred the place back when they just served decent burgers and a few other things. I like dive bars that don't get so jam-packed, I guess. The place is a Seward institution but it seems to be a destination by default because there aren't many bars nearby.

Tracy's is a simple neighborhood bar and it happens to have a few vegan options. I had their home-made veggie burger (all-American style, though there are a few other varieties) which was not bad. I liked the taste of the patty (though it was a bit soft and crumbly), but I was less impressed with the industrial-grade lettuce, tomato and white-flour bun they used. The fries were good. Tracy's also has a tempeh reuben, a mock duck curry and a tempeh hash (on the weekends). I'm not sure why they don't serve any tofu dishes (how about a fried tofu burrito, or a tofu scramble?); it's especially strange because they do have tempeh. A seitan/mock duck sandwich or burger would be great as well. Space around the bar is cramped and the beer selection isn't all that great, but I like that Tracy's is trying to hold its own against Pizza Luce and Triple Rock, which are the two nearest ultra vegan-friendly bar/restaurants. If Tracy's added a few more thoughtful and varied vegan options I'd be back often.

There seems to be a special going on at all times at Tracy's Saloon. What has been labeled as a dive bar in the past, now deserves bragging rights in regard to their food and drink prices. From what I hear everything is homemade, such as their condiments and hand-cut fries. Their juicy lucy's in my opinion are in competition with popular burger joints around town, except Tracy's wins because you can actually get a table. This is a convenient location for me, both close to work and home. My favorite special has to be the wooden nickel happy hours. It's like a punch card that rewards drunken denizens. With two wooden nickels burning a hole in my pocket, I see myself returning again in the very near future (especially since I was there twice this past weekend).

Default hangout, especially after making the rounds at other places. Tracy's is close to where I live, they have great specials, and everyone there is quite down-to-earth (if not too busy, you can actually chat w the wait staff). Their drink menu is extensive and the drinks can get pretty cheap with their specials (wooden nickels, etc), and they have a different special every day. They have a variety of foods (the mixed grill is delightful) ...and they serve full menu until some ridiculously late 1:30-ish time. I really hardly ever eat burgers, and these days, almost all of the ones I do eat are at Tracy's... so good!!

This place is a fire trap. Too many tables and not enough room to move if its busy. The chicken fingers are pretty good. DON'T use the restrooms if you don't need to, unless you need your nose hairs burned off. The smell of rotten pee will knock you down.

Felt like it was time for an update after having dinner at Tracy's after the Loppet this weekend. First of all, TOTCHOS. Tater tot nachos. Yum. Second of all, their menu is eclectic as heck for a bar. Open it and see everything from blue cheese-stuffed burgers (a la Lucy) to linguini and red curry with mock duck. They seem to prepare much of their food old-fashioned way. I ordered chicken strips which came house-breaded (the breading was just OK---very plain) with buffalo sauce that definitely did not taste like it came out of a bottle labeled "wing sauce." That sauce is goooood. I disliked the beer cheese soup though, which is made with Summit and Surly. I thought it would be amazing, but it was pretty gritty and beer-y (moreso than most). Third of all, specials. Tracy's has great specials, like 8-11 p.m. happy hour on Saturday nights! 1/2 price apps and 2-4-1 beers. The second beer can be redeemed at any time with your wooden nickel. Fourth of all, wings. I'll say it again: It's like stealing poultry from a baby... a baby named Tracy. Wing night is on Tuesdays. Get any flavors your heart desires for 40 cents each.

Every neighborhood needs a bar like Tracy's. Low key, laid back and cheap. It's not a place to go if you expect to be oohed and ahhed, but you will have a good time. Nice beer selection, with a focus on local, i.e. Surly. Our food was pretty good as well. I thought the wings were very good. I love the burger and a malt special for $10. The malts are great and they were very nice about splitting it up for us. I'll be back to watch a Twins game and enjoy a beer or two. Oh, and the service was outstanding. Ian you are the man.

Now I am a little bias on any place that has a wing special. It is nearly impossible for me to find fault in an establishment when I am eating good wings. One of the particularly amazing things about this wing special, is that you can get several different flavors of wings, all for one low price of .40 cents per wing. This might not seem like a HUGE deal, but usually during a promotional wing night, they offer one flavor, or a wing minimum. (This is going to sound like a contradiction, but I really don't know why anyone would get anything other than Buffalo wings. Seems like a waste of a wing.) The place is comfortable, not too loud, and the service extremely fast. It was almost like they read my mind and ordered what I wanted before I knew what I had wanted. The reason why I will return (besides the wings, did I mention the wings?) was I got to see a man fall asleep leaning on a foosball table. I got to eat onion rings that were the size of bracelets, and the ladies room smelled fantastic! (but be careful, there were no locks on the doors... I don't know what kind of party atmosphere they were trying to promote.) Pretty delicious experience.

I heard Tracy's had a good 40 cent Tuesday wing special, so that is basically what has attracted me there. My first visit was good. My second visit totally sucked. First, the good experience: I came on a Tuesday evening when it was busy. Hopping in fact. I was lucky to get an open stool at the bar. Great wings, served piping hot. Buffalo wings are totally average, which to me means delicious. Don't get Teriyaki. They use a cheap Teriyaki sauce that's sort of sweet and gross. Now the sucky experience. My next visit was at 11:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 1). Judging from how almost totally-empty this place was so early in the day, it was a little disconcerting and raised a red flag. They don't apparently attract a lunch crowd. But I'm wanting wings, so I sit at the bar, and this is the dialog with the server: Me: I'll have a dozen buffalo, and half-dozen spicy-hot wings. Server: You can only order 10 at a time. Me: What? That must have changed. I ordered six of each last time I was here. Server: During our wing special you can do that. Me: You don't have a wing special? Server: We do, it starts at 5. Me: Oh.... So this was the second red flag. I should've just left, because their regular price wings are $9 for ten which is really a ripoff... I could just as easily go to a nice sit-down restaurant and get the same thing for $7. But I remember having good wings there, I was hungry, so I acquiesced and placed an order for 10. I must have waited for like 20-25 minutes before the wings finally showed up, and they were COLD. Well, room temperature. Obviously I didn't bother eating them. I just paid for my beer and left. The server apologized, somewhat apathetically. I said, "Yeah I'll come back when you guys are a little busier." So here's the takeaway: They shouldn't even bother being open before 5:00 on weekdays because the place is totally dead before then. So don't even bother going here before 5:00. I speculated this is what happened behind the scenes: My food order was the first one that involved frying, so it took 10-15 minutes before oil was hot enough to fry wings. Then the cook probably got frozen wings from the freezer and maybe didn't fry them long enough, so the inside of the wings was just barely warm. Another theory is perhaps even if they were cooked correctly, they might have sat 10 minutes waiting to be served because the servers were milling around socializing because they weren't busy enough to be in any sort of groove serving customers (the few including me that were there). What bar doesn't ask you if you'd like a drink when you order food? The server almost turned away after I placed my wing order when just remembered I hadn't ordered a beer. I ordered a Summit EPA and she starts pouring Summit Oatmeal Stout. She gets halfway into the pour and asks me, "Wait, did you want Oatmeal Stout?" The service is inattentive and nonchalant.

While I love the wooden nickel happy hours and the tater tots and 'Totchos' on Tracy's menu, I cannot look past their denial of a simple request. To set the scene - Me: hungover and really craving a cheeseburger and tater tots. Tracy's: serving their brunch menu for another 30 minutes. I queried our waitress about the 'Breakfast Burger' on the brunch menu, which was served with a piece of toast and a fried egg. I asked if it would be possible to hold the egg and add cheese and put the burger on one of the 200+ plus buns I could see stacked on the shelves in the open kitchen window. She responded with something along the lines of 'I kind of doubt it but let me check with the cooks.' So she heads into the kitchen and comes back and says 'No way jose.' I tell her I understand that the kitchen is sticking to their guns about the brunch menu, but I can visibly see the buns and know damn well that they have a single slice of cheese that can top some ground meat, and for that matter, brunch was ending shortly and they would have to start serving the full menu. Again, she reiterates 'Sorry.' What's the final result? Did I leave in disgust (as I should have)? No. I bit the bullet and played their game. I had to order the 'Breakfast Burger' subbing out egg and adding another piece of toast, with no tater tots and no cheese. No effing joke. Principles are principles but in this case rigidity to principles has cost Tracy's a good chunk of my respect, which they can (and will most likely) win back slowly and surely (and with wooden-nickels).

A great hole in the wall bar and eatery. it's obvious the decor and fixtures are old, sometimes there's popcorn on the floor but hey..the point of Tracy's isn't to give the customer brilliant flashy razzle tazzle art deco environment. People come for the cheap drinks and some of the best food in town. daily specials, big juicy burgers and if you like deep friend mushrooms you wont find any better in the STATE they're huge!! Tracy's has a nice beer selection, including Summit Oatmeal Stout, which can be hard to track down. Their food is hit or miss, but is generally good. I had their beer cheese soup one evening, and although it was sorta hard to swallow as a soup, it would probably be alright if you had a bunch of texas toast or chips and just used it as a dip. Way way way too thick. Their wings are tastey, and they have good drink deals. The atmosphere is generally a bit strange; random 21 year olds mixing with semi-creepy leering older men. Then, it is that part of town, where either side of Franklin seem like worlds apart. As for the service, not impressed, but again, it's a dinky bar, so I never really expected anything too terribly professional. One night I was here with 5 friends and the server charged us their gratuity for parties of 6 and over. Normally it wouldn't have been that big of deal; as long as the service is decent I always tip at least 20%. Unfortunately the service was not decent, it was kinda the worst. Needless to say, we decided to speak up about the incorrect addition of gratuity, at which point the server seemed seriously irritated. One of the places I wait at refuses to add gratuity no matter how large the party, in order to ensure that all patrons get the best service, and servers aren't able to make guaranteed tips without working hard for it. I won't say that I'm necessarily always too happy about this practice, but this girl definitely proved to me why an establishment may want to have such a policy in place. In all the staff seem pretty young and unpolished, but I'm guessing it's one of those starter jobs for people coming into the industry. The oatmeal stout makes it worth it.

So my star rating hasn't changed, but that's because the service was a heck of a lot better the second time, and it's a true 4 star rather than a tot star. We came here on a tuesday night, it was pretty late about 10pm. It was still busy with the twins game still on and being wing tuesday. however there was a little table for us to sit at right at the front (lucky) and we were greeted within a couple minutes by the bartender/server. We got the totchos and water right away just in case she got busy. She came back after about 5 minutes and asked if we wanted anything else to eat and we ordered buffalo wings. The totchos came out within that 5 minutes and they were loaded with a generous amount of REAL cheese. Nothing I dislike more than that fake nacho syrup.. unless that's what i'm aiming for. We devoured the totchos and I really enjoyed the homemade salsa.. but the flavored sour cream not so much. We both gave it a chance, but I think they would've been much better with plain ol regular sour cream. No need to make everything fancy. Our wings came out pretty much as soon as we stuffed our faced full of tots and cheese. I was basically full. We got water refills a few minutes later from someone else. The wings were hot and they were a really nice size. However, There was something about the sauce that just didn't taste right. I was only able to eat about 5 of my 10 wings, mostly due to the tots and not the flavor. But i don't know... i can't quite put my finger on what it was. I let my boyfriend take the rest of mine home and have them for left overs. I'm not saying I wont give them another chance, because it is a homemade sauce.. but it wasn't my favorite flavor. The waitress/bartender brought our check over after we got a box from someone else (which I don't really mind being helped by 3 different people because the service was really fast but who gets the tip?) and we were in and out within 35 minutes. We will definitely be back at some point but try not to park next to the garbage. It almost made me puke with the grease and trash smell.

I've been hearing about Tracy's totchos forever but, let me tell you, they aren't that great. I will eat the hell out of anything even remotely nacho-like, but totchos just taste like nothing. Under-ripe tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and olives that taste like garbage do no favors for the tator tots, trust me. If I think about the fact that the cheese made the entire mess look like a 2nd grade art project, it still makes my stomach turn. One might say that the service was attentive, but I'm going to say that it was WAY too much. The minute any new person joined our group the waitress was immediately on top of them. Of course they didn't know what they wanted yet, which was met with a roll of the eyes or a "I'm-too-busy-for-your-indecisiveness" sigh. When it came time to take anyone's money for the check, she was nowhere to be found. At least the drinks were strong. A few of us ended up over at Pizza Luce afterwards, which is probably where we should have went in the first place.

I have been going to Tracy's for many years. In that time it has gone from a dive bar with some food to a quality restaurant with dive bar prices. It is the best place in the twin cities to watch Monday Night Football. Mondays have half-priced buggers and half-priced drink. These are not post-game specials, they run during the game. They have a huge variety of food; burgers, sandwiches, whole fresh fish, salads, curry, tachos, etc. It is the only place I know of where you can make a mixed group of drinkers happy. They even have a few VEGAN options. To help all, some downsides should be noted. The veggie burger is vegan, and falls apart when you pick it up. The cheese-stuffed burger will burn you when the hot filling erupts. The regular salads are good, but the side salad you get if you sub-out your fries is small and boring. The fish is served head-on, and that freaks people out. Staff turnover is constant, leading to some incidents of bad service.

I lived in Seward years ago and really like this place. Now it's new owners have stepped it up a notch. It still has tater tots which helped get the fifth star. The Surly taps are what puts Tracy's over the top. They usually have 4 Surly beers on tap. Plus, on Wednesday nights they have trivia night but more importantly, they have $3 taps! The service is great here and they usually have a game on TV.

Food is above-average quality for bar food. My boyfriend and I come here a lot as we live nearby and are totally addicted to the sauteed broccolini and the dry rub wings. The dry rub is very similar to Shorty and Wags, for those that are familiar. The broccolini is always perfectly crisp-tender and seasoned with lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. We've tried their totchos also and I didn't really care for them, but I'm not really into tater tots in the first place. Between the tots, sour cream, salsa and melted shredded cheese the dish was one big mush, whereas I prefer my nachos crunchy--texture is a big thing for me. We never seem to make it there during happy hour. The couple of times we have, the drink specials were meh. $4 Summit EPA pints and 1/2 price margaritas. I HATE Summit of any kind so I ordered a margarita...and could barely choke it down. Cheap margarita mix + cheaper tequila = acid reflux city. Don't be a cheapo like me; just pay full price for something you know you like. I'm not sure if they typically have security there; I don't think I have ever seen any, but if they don't, they really should. The last two times we've been there, there's been crackheads loitering about and harassing patrons for money both outside and inside the place. This most recently occurred this past Saturday night around 7pm, and one other time around 9pm on a weeknight--point being, these incidents weren't isolated or limited to typical late-night antics that can sometimes occur in bars. Let's face it, this is not the best neighborhood. It's not terrible, but it's not great. There is a large transient population that hangs around this 'hood. Usually that's a non-issue, but it is something to keep in mind if you're rollin' solo.

Seward has plenty of businesses I frequent, so it's only natural that I've stopped into Tracy's a few times for drinks - and have been pleased with my experiences. They have a good beer selection but also make a killer bloody mary for those Sundays when hair-o-the-dog is just what you need. While I've never tried the food yet, it seems to have options for carnivores and vegetarians alike, but it does get busy and the times I've come for dinner, it's been too packed. It seems mid-afternoon or late night works best if you don't feel like waiting for a table to open up. As for the environment itself, the place has a clean and cozy vibe without being stuffy OR overly casual. While I haven't encountered the happy hour wooden nickel promotion yet, I've heard enough about it to want to take advantage one of these days! The bar is a bit small but worth bellying up to if you're able. Bartenders are often friendly and just chatty enough.

Several wing flavors. Can't decide which one you want? Don't worry, you can split your order between two. That's what I did! Got the buffalo wings and the bbq wings. The BUFFALO wings were naked (not breaded) and doused in sauce. They reminded me a lot of the wings at Runyons in the way that frying them un-breaded made the skin a bit tougher. The BBQ wings were the same fried wings, but with a tangy sauce that dripped. For me, it would have been nice if they were grilled or maybe finished off in the oven...they were just too wet. In total there were about 10 wings which should have cost me $10.25. However, to my surprise this appetizer was 1/2 priced and so were the fries I got. The fries were good and plentiful. The were a bit salty for me (which is a rarity) but other than that I really liked them. Skinny, crisp and light! They were served with an aioli which was okay alone but even better when combined with ketchup. To wash it all down, I tried the Caribbean Cosmo which was a steal at $7.25 and they didn't skimp on the liquor. I don't typically get/like cosmos, but enjoyed this one; it wasn't strong upon first sip, but it eventually the alcohol caught up with me. That's how I like my drinks (slow and steady)! Overall, majority of their cocktails were priced really well. They have ample seating, and space in the dining area to accommodate larger groups. At the bar they have two smaller TV's, but with the bar being emptier and the volume being up...I still couldn't hear anything. Service was fine, nothing friendly or outstanding, but also nothing rude or slow. If I was in the area on an early Saturday evening or late evening, yes I'd consider returning; especially when you consider my entire meal (including drink) was only $15.88. YAY for Happy Hour!!!

SCORE! We gave Tracy's another chance a couple of days ago. They are a different place altogether service-wise. It's such a treat because their food has always been crave-worthy. They were busy and still, the moment we sat down our waiter was there to great us. He didn't rush us, just let us know that he saw us come in. Everyone who waited on us was both friendly and energetic. None of the "doing you a favor by noticing you. I hate my life. Sigh." Now that the service matches the food, no one is going to need to twist my arm to return. Tracy's has the best fries. Please try the Kirby burger. This place loves to do specials like date night deals and different burgers. Worth a peek at their website to see what's going on. The Totchos are fantastically good. Tater tots and cheese - who knew?

Tracy's is a decent bar with great bar food. I had the vegetable curry, which was delicious. The apricot chutney was fantastic, but I do think that the curry could have used a few more veggies and more rice. It was pretty much red pepper (big slices) and cilantro in a great curry sauce. Potato, cauliflower, peas, carrots - any traditional curry veggies would have been a welcome addition. I also had a cosmopolitan, which was fine - nothing to brag about. My friend ordered a Manhattan and it came out in a martini glass and had a ton of vermouth. I'd say the beer and the food is great. It's also super loud in there and the bathrooms are some of the most awkward I have been in. If you are concerned about handicap accessibility, the bathrooms are a challenge.

Tracy's is my favorite neighborhood bar of any neighborhood ever. Their happy hours are varied but consistent, and the 2 for 1 wooden nickles are genius. Their food is far better than standard bar food and they have a good selection of beer. As a bonus their free popcorn is the best bar popcorn I've had - not too salty... but salty enough. Great bar environment. Show up early on burger night, and keep an eye out for the creamy potato dill soup. AND LIKE, 3.50 BLOODIES DURING BRUNCH HOURS? YES PLEASE. I really like their bloody. It's classic, not a lot of fixings, and their olives actually are the only bad thing I've ever experienced at Tracy's, but I still order it time after time. Plus the 3.50 deal really is unbeatable. It's a tall glass, not watered down.

Went with the BBQ. 9 bucks for 10 wings. Lot of meat and lot of sauce. Much better than a BW3 but not as good as D-Spot (but no beer at D-Spot). Best to go on Tuesdays for the Wings from what I understand when they are on special and have a new flavor of the week each Tuesday. The two stars on the service is no knock on the friendliness of the staff. They were just outnumbered by customers too much where they couldn't keep up. They only had one bartender and one server for the tables. I waited what felt like ten minutes to get my first beer. When my co-worker arrived he waited probably fifteen minutes for his first beer, no exaggeration. It was also a really long wait for the food to come out. Bartender was cool, though, and apologized for the delay. He recommended the Surly Wet. I had never had it before, and it is awesome! Similar to a Bell's Hopslam. Unfortunately, you can only get it in a ten ounce glass because of the high ABV on it. I will go back. They have a bunch of other stuff on the menu that I would like to try - rainbow trout, apple cured ribs and prawns with ginger noodle to name a few.

Yet another place I've been putting off all these years. My server was the bartender, John. He was so awesome. I sat at a high top by the window, for the light. He immediately directed me to half price apps, on a Saturday, sweet. I got the hummus, and it was just as good as any middle East place. It's on a bed of shredded lettuce, which I will order without, too messy. On the platter is enough other stuff for a salad, including feta cheese. I love that they have a signature beer cheese soup daily. Watch out, it's more ale than cheese, so get that designated driver. Though not a classic Irish pub, they have a shepards pie with boar. I've been twice now and both times it was busy, but with places to sit. And you can hear the people you're with! I also really like all of the old Minneapolis things on the wall. There is a great panorama of old Metropolitan Stadium on one of the walls that I would like to stea-- I mean, find one of my own someday. They have a decent beer list and 1/2 price margs on Fridays. It's also nice that Seward Cafe is right across the street... you could now go between here and Seward for their late night happy hour or if you wanted a different food option over there. HOWEVER, are you a tater tot fan? Good choice. Are you a fan of nachos? Thank goodness, because the Totchos* are amazing! Seriously, get them.

I went on a Monday with a couple of girlfriends for this great deal they have where all the burgers are half-off from 5-midnight. We also were there for the excellent happy hour. I think it's $2 off all the appetizers, $2 Miller Lites, and $3.50 rails? Pretty good! I was tempted with the house-pickled eggs, with the happy hour, they were a buck. Next time! I got the Kirby burger...a burger with cheddar, homemade(!!!) pickles, and 1000 Island dressing. I also got the tots, which are $0.50 extra and well worth it. The burger was huge...not to mention $4.50. I think I had two of the Miller Lites, and my meal ended up being $10.50 for everything. That's insane considering the quality. My good friend lives across the street from here, so I can't wait to come back. Bonus:free popcorn!

The service is always super friendly, they have a large selection of drinks, the menu is wide & varied & everything is extremely reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Tracy's if you are looking for upscale bar food at an extremely reasonable price!!

Good food, good beer, good prices and ok service have made Tracy's our go-to place for post-soccer nourishment. I was initially skeptical when Tracy's was suggested, as the outside of the bar intimated divey-ness, but I have since been proved wrong. Looking for a cheap snack with your beer? Can't go wrong with crispy tater tots! They have totchos too, but I found them a little bland. Looking for a protein fix? How about their mixed grill, it has well-cooked land and sea animals! Looking for an excuse to drink a lot of beer? Try the red curry, it's pretty spicy even for me and comes with crispy lentil chips! Every bit is delicious but requires multiple gulpings of booze. Haven't tried their homemade soups yet, but there's a new one for every day of the week. Like underwear, but edible. I'm aware of edible underwear but let's not go there. Most everything is cooked on the premises yet the prices are really reasonable. This makes it attractive to hipsters and foodies as well as keeping the old-timers. I'd come here more often if I lived in Seward.

Gave it two stars because this used to be our neighborhood haunt, but it's been getting fancier and fancier every year. We figured they would eventually price the old regulars out, and after they rehabbed the place this winter they finally did. Nothing on the menu under $10 bucks, and the happy hours are ridiculously short now. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Still got enough places in the neighborhood if we want cheap, and if we want to pay Tracy's prices, there are better selections too. Based on what I've seen lately, we aren't the only formerly loyal patrons who are going elsewhere.

Great neighborhood bar. They have a reasonably large scotch selection, but most selections are pretty common. Good tap beer selection and very reasonable prices on the bar food. They have an excellent Friday night date special. I think it is like $25 for two entrees and wine. Also good burger selections.

"Where everyboddddyyy knows your name..." Tracy's is my favorite neighborhood bar - and it's not even in my neighborhood anymore. Tracy's has great "bar" food, but have also been expanding their menu the last few years. My favorite thing about Tracy's? Weekday evening happy hours. Their food and drink specials are great, and you are most likely to find us here on Tuesdays for wing night (the Tracy's rub is so good!) Beyond the wings, the quality of the plated meals is really unexpected from a place that looks so dive-y from the outside (with things like Curry and Steaks) The mid-week dinner special is always a really great value. Other things that are oddly delicious-the garlic Broccolini, the stuffed dates and the garden salad with chicken in the Tracy's hot sauce. The service always kind of sucks, but you can only ask for so much, right?

It's basically 241, but you can save them up and come back and drink for free (with tip of course!) I don't come here as often, but I did notice the free popcorn is gone, super sad because I think this was best free popcorn. Oh well. The dart boards are gone as well, but they were kind of dangerous. Other than some of my favorite pastimes missing Tracy's still seems to deliver. The service is generally efficient and friendly, serving a small but decent variety of beers. While I've never tried the food, it smells good, and they have some crazy good HH deals. HH M-F from 4-6:30pm and again at 8:30-11pm. It's like the earliest late night if you are looking for a deal that comes before 10. They have drink and food specials during these times, changing with the day. There is a small parking lot out back, but usually plenty of street parking. Check it out!

We'll talk about the pros of this place shortly. But let's first start off with a big con. It's important to start with the Tracy's major downside. Because if you want to get the best of this place, you have to know this: the quality of the food here is not consistent. Don't worry, though. Because the good news is that it's not all chaotic. It follows a certain pattern. I've been frequenting this place since 2008 and I discovered that the quality of their food is inversely proportional to the number of people dining here. It sounds simple. But it's based on a carefully designed research method constituted of scientific experiment, measurement, sampling, and close observation. Now that I reveal the pattern, it's not simply a hypothesis. It's now officially a theory that explains the inconsistency in their food quality! I entertained different possibilities (change of cooks, change of suppliers, inconsistency of my mood, etc.) and no hypothesis other than the one I just talked about explains the problem in hand. Now, whenever I go to Tracy's I bring this chart with me. I count people sitting in there and see what quality I could expect!! Having this con in mind, here are the reasons why this place is better than your average bar: 1- The beer selection is nice. 2- The food menu is extensive and satisfies a wide range of tastes. 3- They have excellent happy hours and daily specials (my favorites are their half-priced burgers and wooden nickles.) 4- Unlike many other places, their Cajun burger is, as expected, hot! 5- Free popcorn!

Ah, Tracy's. I love this place. Pros: food and drink specials EVERY night (including wooden nickles on a couple nights, which is like 2 for 1's but better), bar trivia on Wednesday, really good food (some standard bar fare (I love their burgers, many people clamor over their wings but I'm not really a wing guy) but also several interesting entree options like curry or mixed grill shishkabobs), free popcorn, nice enough interior. Cons: a little small so it can easily get packed during the busier nights/specials (wooden nickles especially so), dirty bathroom, the location isn't the most convenient. All in all one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis. Definitely worth checking out!

Met some new fun people here today for an afternoon drink as an intro. to our new city... Our bartender was friendly but not overzealous, and had some nice suggestions on the coffee drinks when I ordered a Bailey's and coffee- "Have you ever had a Drunk Monk?" and I am glad I took his advice. The vibe is fun and casual, and I look forward to coming here again. The only reason I gave Tracy's 4 stars and not 5 is that the Oregon Pinot Noir was not available by the glass... I have a soft spot for Oregon Pinots... =D

Pretty solid for a shitty bar but it gets really busy and that's where the fun stops for me. It's often a pain in the arse to find a table and then you end up shouting at your companions or not talking at all. It's good for cheap drinks I guess, if you follow their specials, but drinking stale Miller Lite is pretty disgusting. It seems like they've tried to step up the food into a quasi-upscale thing and what I had recently (can't even recall the dish) was a little bland and bizarre. I preferred the place back when they just served decent burgers and a few other things. I like dive bars that don't get so jam-packed, I guess. The place is a Seward institution but it seems to be a destination by default because there aren't many bars nearby.

Best wings I've had in the area. They aren't breaded so you get a nice crispy skin and they come with enough sauce to cover the wings! As they should. I seriously don't get the appeal of dry rubbed or greasy, breaded wings. The buffalo and siracha lime sauces are the tastiest. Tracy, please never change your wings!!!

Tracy's is a simple neighborhood bar and it happens to have a few vegan options. I had their home-made veggie burger (all-American style, though there are a few other varieties) which was not bad. I liked the taste of the patty (though it was a bit soft and crumbly), but I was less impressed with the industrial-grade lettuce, tomato and white-flour bun they used. The fries were good. Tracy's also has a tempeh reuben, a mock duck curry and a tempeh hash (on the weekends). I'm not sure why they don't serve any tofu dishes (how about a fried tofu burrito, or a tofu scramble?); it's especially strange because they do have tempeh. A seitan/mock duck sandwich or burger would be great as well. Space around the bar is cramped and the beer selection isn't all that great, but I like that Tracy's is trying to hold its own against Pizza Luce and Triple Rock, which are the two nearest ultra vegan-friendly bar/restaurants. If Tracy's added a few more thoughtful and varied vegan options I'd be back often.

There seems to be a special going on at all times at Tracy's Saloon. What has been labeled as a dive bar in the past, now deserves bragging rights in regard to their food and drink prices. From what I hear everything is homemade, such as their condiments and hand-cut fries. Their juicy lucy's in my opinion are in competition with popular burger joints around town, except Tracy's wins because you can actually get a table. This is a convenient location for me, both close to work and home. My favorite special has to be the wooden nickel happy hours. It's like a punch card that rewards drunken denizens. With two wooden nickels burning a hole in my pocket, I see myself returning again in the very near future (especially since I was there twice this past weekend).

Default hangout, especially after making the rounds at other places. Tracy's is close to where I live, they have great specials, and everyone there is quite down-to-earth (if not too busy, you can actually chat w the wait staff). Their drink menu is extensive and the drinks can get pretty cheap with their specials (wooden nickels, etc), and they have a different special every day. They have a variety of foods (the mixed grill is delightful) ...and they serve full menu until some ridiculously late 1:30-ish time. I really hardly ever eat burgers, and these days, almost all of the ones I do eat are at Tracy's... so good!!

This place is a fire trap. Too many tables and not enough room to move if its busy. The chicken fingers are pretty good. DON'T use the restrooms if you don't need to, unless you need your nose hairs burned off. The smell of rotten pee will knock you down.

I heard Tracy's had a good 40 cent Tuesday wing special, so that is basically what has attracted me there. My first visit was good. My second visit totally sucked. First, the good experience: I came on a Tuesday evening when it was busy. Hopping in fact. I was lucky to get an open stool at the bar. Great wings, served piping hot. Buffalo wings are totally average, which to me means delicious. Don't get Teriyaki. They use a cheap Teriyaki sauce that's sort of sweet and gross. Now the sucky experience. My next visit was at 11:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 1). Judging from how almost totally-empty this place was so early in the day, it was a little disconcerting and raised a red flag. They don't apparently attract a lunch crowd. But I'm wanting wings, so I sit at the bar, and this is the dialog with the server: Me: I'll have a dozen buffalo, and half-dozen spicy-hot wings. Server: You can only order 10 at a time. Me: What? That must have changed. I ordered six of each last time I was here. Server: During our wing special you can do that. Me: You don't have a wing special? Server: We do, it starts at 5. Me: Oh.... So this was the second red flag. I should've just left, because their regular price wings are $9 for ten which is really a ripoff... I could just as easily go to a nice sit-down restaurant and get the same thing for $7. But I remember having good wings there, I was hungry, so I acquiesced and placed an order for 10. I must have waited for like 20-25 minutes before the wings finally showed up, and they were COLD. Well, room temperature. Obviously I didn't bother eating them. I just paid for my beer and left. The server apologized, somewhat apathetically. I said, "Yeah I'll come back when you guys are a little busier." So here's the takeaway: They shouldn't even bother being open before 5:00 on weekdays because the place is totally dead before then. So don't even bother going here before 5:00. I speculated this is what happened behind the scenes: My food order was the first one that involved frying, so it took 10-15 minutes before oil was hot enough to fry wings. Then the cook probably got frozen wings from the freezer and maybe didn't fry them long enough, so the inside of the wings was just barely warm. Another theory is perhaps even if they were cooked correctly, they might have sat 10 minutes waiting to be served because the servers were milling around socializing because they weren't busy enough to be in any sort of groove serving customers (the few including me that were there). What bar doesn't ask you if you'd like a drink when you order food? The server almost turned away after I placed my wing order when just remembered I hadn't ordered a beer. I ordered a Summit EPA and she starts pouring Summit Oatmeal Stout. She gets halfway into the pour and asks me, "Wait, did you want Oatmeal Stout?" The service is inattentive and nonchalant.

Felt like it was time for an update after having dinner at Tracy's after the Loppet this weekend. First of all, TOTCHOS. Tater tot nachos. Yum. Second of all, their menu is eclectic as heck for a bar. Open it and see everything from blue cheese-stuffed burgers (a la Lucy) to linguini and red curry with mock duck. They seem to prepare much of their food old-fashioned way. I ordered chicken strips which came house-breaded (the breading was just OK---very plain) with buffalo sauce that definitely did not taste like it came out of a bottle labeled "wing sauce." That sauce is goooood. I disliked the beer cheese soup though, which is made with Summit and Surly. I thought it would be amazing, but it was pretty gritty and beer-y (moreso than most). Third of all, specials. Tracy's has great specials, like 8-11 p.m. happy hour on Saturday nights! 1/2 price apps and 2-4-1 beers. The second beer can be redeemed at any time with your wooden nickel. Fourth of all, wings. I'll say it again: It's like stealing poultry from a baby... a baby named Tracy. Wing night is on Tuesdays. Get any flavors your heart desires for 40 cents each.

While I love the wooden nickel happy hours and the tater tots and 'Totchos' on Tracy's menu, I cannot look past their denial of a simple request. To set the scene - Me: hungover and really craving a cheeseburger and tater tots. Tracy's: serving their brunch menu for another 30 minutes. I queried our waitress about the 'Breakfast Burger' on the brunch menu, which was served with a piece of toast and a fried egg. I asked if it would be possible to hold the egg and add cheese and put the burger on one of the 200+ plus buns I could see stacked on the shelves in the open kitchen window. She responded with something along the lines of 'I kind of doubt it but let me check with the cooks.' So she heads into the kitchen and comes back and says 'No way jose.' I tell her I understand that the kitchen is sticking to their guns about the brunch menu, but I can visibly see the buns and know damn well that they have a single slice of cheese that can top some ground meat, and for that matter, brunch was ending shortly and they would have to start serving the full menu. Again, she reiterates 'Sorry.' What's the final result? Did I leave in disgust (as I should have)? No. I bit the bullet and played their game. I had to order the 'Breakfast Burger' subbing out egg and adding another piece of toast, with no tater tots and no cheese. No effing joke. Principles are principles but in this case rigidity to principles has cost Tracy's a good chunk of my respect, which they can (and will most likely) win back slowly and surely (and with wooden-nickels).

Every neighborhood needs a bar like Tracy's. Low key, laid back and cheap. It's not a place to go if you expect to be oohed and ahhed, but you will have a good time. Nice beer selection, with a focus on local, i.e. Surly. Our food was pretty good as well. I thought the wings were very good. I love the burger and a malt special for $10. The malts are great and they were very nice about splitting it up for us. I'll be back to watch a Twins game and enjoy a beer or two. Oh, and the service was outstanding. Ian you are the man.

Now I am a little bias on any place that has a wing special. It is nearly impossible for me to find fault in an establishment when I am eating good wings. One of the particularly amazing things about this wing special, is that you can get several different flavors of wings, all for one low price of .40 cents per wing. This might not seem like a HUGE deal, but usually during a promotional wing night, they offer one flavor, or a wing minimum. (This is going to sound like a contradiction, but I really don't know why anyone would get anything other than Buffalo wings. Seems like a waste of a wing.) The place is comfortable, not too loud, and the service extremely fast. It was almost like they read my mind and ordered what I wanted before I knew what I had wanted. The reason why I will return (besides the wings, did I mention the wings?) was I got to see a man fall asleep leaning on a foosball table. I got to eat onion rings that were the size of bracelets, and the ladies room smelled fantastic! (but be careful, there were no locks on the doors... I don't know what kind of party atmosphere they were trying to promote.) Pretty delicious experience.

One of the best deals in town. Went there Monday night for half price burgers. It also happened to be 'wooden nickle' happy hour after 8pm. So we got two burgers and four good beers for $20! Authentic, neighborhood bars. If you live in the 'burbs, they simply don't exist. If you live in the city, they are on the endangered species list. Tracy's does neighborhood dive bar well but ups the ante by having some great tap beer options and a good menu. Really enjoyed a curry/rice/chicken dish with a pint of Surly Furious. The spicy curry with the hoppy IPA was a great combo. The gal behind the counter was super friendly, experienced, and a bit of a character, all traits that lend themselves to this kind of joint.

Tracy's is a warm, unpretentious neighborhood place (I live in Uptown so that's a welcome change in attitude and ambiance). What I tasted of the California burger was delicious. I was very hungry so chewing was a luxury I could barely afford. My fella's wild boar shepherds pie was surprisingly good, gamey in a good way, and piping hot. This is not your run-of-the-mill pub food. Tracy's is worth a trip to Seward, I'd say, for above average food, the smell of fresh popcorn wafting through the place, and polite service.
A great hole in the wall bar and eatery. it's obvious the decor and fixtures are old, sometimes there's popcorn on the floor but hey..the point of Tracy's isn't to give the customer brilliant flashy razzle tazzle art deco environment. People come for the cheap drinks and some of the best food in town. daily specials, big juicy burgers and if you like deep friend mushrooms you wont find any better in the STATE they're huge!! If you've never been try Tracy's for sure.

Tracy's has a nice beer selection, including Summit Oatmeal Stout, which can be hard to track down. Their food is hit or miss, but is generally good. I had their beer cheese soup one evening, and although it was sorta hard to swallow as a soup, it would probably be alright if you had a bunch of texas toast or chips and just used it as a dip. Way way way too thick. Their wings are tastey, and they have good drink deals. The atmosphere is generally a bit strange; random 21 year olds mixing with semi-creepy leering older men. Then, it is that part of town, where either side of Franklin seem like worlds apart. As for the service, not impressed, but again, it's a dinky bar, so I never really expected anything too terribly professional. One night I was here with 5 friends and the server charged us their gratuity for parties of 6 and over. Normally it wouldn't have been that big of deal; as long as the service is decent I always tip at least 20%. Unfortunately the service was not decent, it was kinda the worst. Needless to say, we decided to speak up about the incorrect addition of gratuity, at which point the server seemed seriously irritated. One of the places I wait at refuses to add gratuity no matter how large the party, in order to ensure that all patrons get the best service, and servers aren't able to make guaranteed tips without working hard for it. I won't say that I'm necessarily always too happy about this practice, but this girl definitely proved to me why an establishment may want to have such a policy in place. In all the staff seem pretty young and unpolished, but I'm guessing it's one of those starter jobs for people coming into the industry. The oatmeal stout makes it worth it.

A surprising classy place to eat and drink despite it's "bar-ey " appearance. The food is good, with plenty of vegetarian options,and a variety of happy hours. Pretty decent veggie burger, fries and a malt if you're craving something "All American " for less than 15$. Also a tasty vegitarian pasta and a brownie worth trying . I'd suggest ordering fries "crispy " and not expecting to get a seat right away, it's a popular place.

So my star rating hasn't changed, but that's because the service was a heck of a lot better the second time, and it's a true 4 star rather than a tot star. We came here on a tuesday night, it was pretty late about 10pm. It was still busy with the twins game still on and being wing tuesday. however there was a little table for us to sit at right at the front (lucky) and we were greeted within a couple minutes by the bartender/server. We got the totchos and water right away just in case she got busy. She came back after about 5 minutes and asked if we wanted anything else to eat and we ordered buffalo wings. The totchos came out within that 5 minutes and they were loaded with a generous amount of REAL cheese. Nothing I dislike more than that fake nacho syrup.. unless that's what i'm aiming for. We devoured the totchos and I really enjoyed the homemade salsa.. but the flavored sour cream not so much. We both gave it a chance, but I think they would've been much better with plain ol regular sour cream. No need to make everything fancy. Our wings came out pretty much as soon as we stuffed our faced full of tots and cheese. I was basically full. We got water refills a few minutes later from someone else. The wings were hot and they were a really nice size. However, There was something about the sauce that just didn't taste right. I was only able to eat about 5 of my 10 wings, mostly due to the tots and not the flavor. But i don't know... i can't quite put my finger on what it was. I let my boyfriend take the rest of mine home and have them for left overs. I'm not saying I wont give them another chance, because it is a homemade sauce.. but it wasn't my favorite flavor. The waitress/bartender brought our check over after we got a box from someone else (which I don't really mind being helped by 3 different people because the service was really fast but who gets the tip?) and we were in and out within 35 minutes. We will definitely be back at some point but try not to park next to the garbage. It almost made me puke with the grease and trash smell.

I've been hearing about Tracy's totchos forever but, let me tell you, they aren't that great. I will eat the hell out of anything even remotely nacho-like, but totchos just taste like nothing. Under-ripe tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and olives that taste like garbage do no favors for the tator tots, trust me. If I think about the fact that the cheese made the entire mess look like a 2nd grade art project, it still makes my stomach turn. One might say that the service was attentive, but I'm going to say that it was WAY too much. The minute any new person joined our group the waitress was immediately on top of them. Of course they didn't know what they wanted yet, which was met with a roll of the eyes or a "I'm-too-busy-for-your-indecisiveness" sigh. When it came time to take anyone's money for the check, she was nowhere to be found. At least the drinks were strong. A few of us ended up over at Pizza Luce afterwards, which is probably where we should have went in the first place.

I have been going to Tracy's for many years. In that time it has gone from a dive bar with some food to a quality restaurant with dive bar prices. It is the best place in the twin cities to watch Monday Night Football. Mondays have half-priced buggers and half-priced drink. These are not post-game specials, they run during the game. They have a huge variety of food; burgers, sandwiches, whole fresh fish, salads, curry, tachos, etc. It is the only place I know of where you can make a mixed group of drinkers happy. They even have a few VEGAN options. To help all, some downsides should be noted. The veggie burger is vegan, and falls apart when you pick it up. The cheese-stuffed burger will burn you when the hot filling erupts. The regular salads are good, but the side salad you get if you sub-out your fries is small and boring. The fish is served head-on, and that freaks people out. Staff turnover is constant, leading to some incidents of bad service.

I lived in Seward years ago and really like this place. Now it's new owners have stepped it up a notch. It still has tater tots which helped get the fifth star. The Surly taps are what puts Tracy's over the top. They usually have 4 Surly beers on tap. Plus, on Wednesday nights they have trivia night but more importantly, they have $3 taps! The service is great here and they usually have a game on TV.

Food is above-average quality for bar food. My boyfriend and I come here a lot as we live nearby and are totally addicted to the sauteed broccolini and the dry rub wings. The dry rub is very similar to Shorty and Wags, for those that are familiar. The broccolini is always perfectly crisp-tender and seasoned with lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. We've tried their totchos also and I didn't really care for them, but I'm not really into tater tots in the first place. Between the tots, sour cream, salsa and melted shredded cheese the dish was one big mush, whereas I prefer my nachos crunchy--texture is a big thing for me. We never seem to make it there during happy hour. The couple of times we have, the drink specials were meh. $4 Summit EPA pints and 1/2 price margaritas. I HATE Summit of any kind so I ordered a margarita...and could barely choke it down. Cheap margarita mix + cheaper tequila = acid reflux city. Don't be a cheapo like me; just pay full price for something you know you like. I'm not sure if they typically have security there; I don't think I have ever seen any, but if they don't, they really should. The last two times we've been there, there's been crackheads loitering about and harassing patrons for money both outside and inside the place. This most recently occurred this past Saturday night around 7pm, and one other time around 9pm on a weeknight--point being, these incidents weren't isolated or limited to typical late-night antics that can sometimes occur in bars. Let's face it, this is not the best neighborhood. It's not terrible, but it's not great. There is a large transient population that hangs around this 'hood. Usually that's a non-issue, but it is something to keep in mind if you're rollin' solo.

Seward has plenty of businesses I frequent, so it's only natural that I've stopped into Tracy's a few times for drinks - and have been pleased with my experiences. They have a good beer selection but also make a killer bloody mary for those Sundays when hair-o-the-dog is just what you need. While I've never tried the food yet, it seems to have options for carnivores and vegetarians alike, but it does get busy and the times I've come for dinner, it's been too packed. It seems mid-afternoon or late night works best if you don't feel like waiting for a table to open up. As for the environment itself, the place has a clean and cozy vibe without being stuffy OR overly casual. While I haven't encountered the happy hour wooden nickel promotion yet, I've heard enough about it to want to take advantage one of these days! The bar is a bit small but worth bellying up to if you're able. Bartenders are often friendly and just chatty enough.

Several wing flavors. Can't decide which one you want? Don't worry, you can split your order between two. That's what I did! Got the buffalo wings and the bbq wings. The BUFFALO wings were naked (not breaded) and doused in sauce. They reminded me a lot of the wings at Runyons in the way that frying them un-breaded made the skin a bit tougher. The BBQ wings were the same fried wings, but with a tangy sauce that dripped. For me, it would have been nice if they were grilled or maybe finished off in the oven...they were just too wet. In total there were about 10 wings which should have cost me $10.25. However, to my surprise this appetizer was 1/2 priced and so were the fries I got. The fries were good and plentiful. The were a bit salty for me (which is a rarity) but other than that I really liked them. Skinny, crisp and light! They were served with an aioli which was okay alone but even better when combined with ketchup. To wash it all down, I tried the Caribbean Cosmo which was a steal at $7.25 and they didn't skimp on the liquor. I don't typically get/like cosmos, but enjoyed this one; it wasn't strong upon first sip, but it eventually the alcohol caught up with me. That's how I like my drinks (slow and steady)! Overall, majority of their cocktails were priced really well. They have ample seating, and space in the dining area to accommodate larger groups. At the bar they have two smaller TV's, but with the bar being emptier and the volume being up...I still couldn't hear anything. Service was fine, nothing friendly or outstanding, but also nothing rude or slow. If I was in the area on an early Saturday evening or late evening, yes I'd consider returning; especially when you consider my entire meal (including drink) was only $15.88. YAY for Happy Hour!!!

SCORE! We gave Tracy's another chance a couple of days ago. They are a different place altogether service-wise. It's such a treat because their food has always been crave-worthy. They were busy and still, the moment we sat down our waiter was there to great us. He didn't rush us, just let us know that he saw us come in. Everyone who waited on us was both friendly and energetic. None of the "doing you a favor by noticing you. I hate my life. Sigh." Now that the service matches the food, no one is going to need to twist my arm to return. Tracy's has the best fries. Please try the Kirby burger. This place loves to do specials like date night deals and different burgers. Worth a peek at their website to see what's going on. The Totchos are fantastically good. Tater tots and cheese - who knew?

Tracy's is a decent bar with great bar food. I had the vegetable curry, which was delicious. The apricot chutney was fantastic, but I do think that the curry could have used a few more veggies and more rice. It was pretty much red pepper (big slices) and cilantro in a great curry sauce. Potato, cauliflower, peas, carrots - any traditional curry veggies would have been a welcome addition. I also had a cosmopolitan, which was fine - nothing to brag about. My friend ordered a Manhattan and it came out in a martini glass and had a ton of vermouth. I'd say the beer and the food is great. It's also super loud in there and the bathrooms are some of the most awkward I have been in. If you are concerned about handicap accessibility, the bathrooms are a challenge.

Tracy's is my favorite neighborhood bar of any neighborhood ever. Their happy hours are varied but consistent, and the 2 for 1 wooden nickles are genius. Their food is far better than standard bar food and they have a good selection of beer. As a bonus their free popcorn is the best bar popcorn I've had - not too salty... but salty enough. Great bar environment. Show up early on burger night, and keep an eye out for the creamy potato dill soup. AND LIKE, 3.50 BLOODIES DURING BRUNCH HOURS? YES PLEASE. I really like their bloody. It's classic, not a lot of fixings, and their olives actually are the only bad thing I've ever experienced at Tracy's, but I still order it time after time. Plus the 3.50 deal really is unbeatable. It's a tall glass, not watered down.

Went with the BBQ. 9 bucks for 10 wings. Lot of meat and lot of sauce. Much better than a BW3 but not as good as D-Spot (but no beer at D-Spot). Best to go on Tuesdays for the Wings from what I understand when they are on special and have a new flavor of the week each Tuesday. The two stars on the service is no knock on the friendliness of the staff. They were just outnumbered by customers too much where they couldn't keep up. They only had one bartender and one server for the tables. I waited what felt like ten minutes to get my first beer. When my co-worker arrived he waited probably fifteen minutes for his first beer, no exaggeration. It was also a really long wait for the food to come out. Bartender was cool, though, and apologized for the delay. He recommended the Surly Wet. I had never had it before, and it is awesome! Similar to a Bell's Hopslam. Unfortunately, you can only get it in a ten ounce glass because of the high ABV on it. I will go back. They have a bunch of other stuff on the menu that I would like to try - rainbow trout, apple cured ribs and prawns with ginger noodle to name a few.

Yet another place I've been putting off all these years. My server was the bartender, John. He was so awesome. I sat at a high top by the window, for the light. He immediately directed me to half price apps, on a Saturday, sweet. I got the hummus, and it was just as good as any middle East place. It's on a bed of shredded lettuce, which I will order without, too messy. On the platter is enough other stuff for a salad, including feta cheese. I love that they have a signature beer cheese soup daily. Watch out, it's more ale than cheese, so get that designated driver. Though not a classic Irish pub, they have a shepards pie with boar. I've been twice now and both times it was busy, but with places to sit. And you can hear the people you're with! I also really like all of the old Minneapolis things on the wall. There is a great panorama of old Metropolitan Stadium on one of the walls that I would like to stea-- I mean, find one of my own someday. They have a decent beer list and 1/2 price margs on Fridays. It's also nice that Seward Cafe is right across the street... you could now go between here and Seward for their late night happy hour or if you wanted a different food option over there. Tracy's is the perfect bar for the Seward neighborhood. It's definitely old school, but they also have an excellent beer/food menu. I went on a Monday with a couple of girlfriends for this great deal they have where all the burgers are half-off from 5-midnight. We also were there for the excellent happy hour. I think it's $2 off all the appetizers, $2 Miller Lites, and $3.50 rails? Pretty good! I was tempted with the house-pickled eggs, with the happy hour, they were a buck. Next time! I got the Kirby burger...a burger with cheddar, homemade(!!!) pickles, and 1000 Island dressing. I also got the tots, which are $0.50 extra and well worth it. The burger was huge...not to mention $4.50. I think I had two of the Miller Lites, and my meal ended up being $10.50 for everything. That's insane considering the quality. My good friend lives across the street from here, so I can't wait to come back. Bonus:free popcorn!

Good food, good beer, good prices and ok service have made Tracy's our go-to place for post-soccer nourishment. I was initially skeptical when Tracy's was suggested, as the outside of the bar intimated divey-ness, but I have since been proved wrong. Looking for a cheap snack with your beer? Can't go wrong with crispy tater tots! They have totchos too, but I found them a little bland. Looking for a protein fix? How about their mixed grill, it has well-cooked land and sea animals! Looking for an excuse to drink a lot of beer? Try the red curry, it's pretty spicy even for me and comes with crispy lentil chips! Every bit is delicious but requires multiple gulpings of booze. Haven't tried their homemade soups yet, but there's a new one for every day of the week. Like underwear, but edible. I'm aware of edible underwear but let's not go there. Most everything is cooked on the premises yet the prices are really reasonable. This makes it attractive to hipsters and foodies as well as keeping the old-timers. I'd come here more often if I lived in Seward.

Gave it two stars because this used to be our neighborhood haunt, but it's been getting fancier and fancier every year. We figured they would eventually price the old regulars out, and after they rehabbed the place this winter they finally did. Nothing on the menu under $10 bucks, and the happy hours are ridiculously short now. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Still got enough places in the neighborhood if we want cheap, and if we want to pay Tracy's prices, there are better selections too. Based on what I've seen lately, we aren't the only formerly loyal patrons who are going elsewhere.

Every neighborhood needs a bar like Tracy's. Low key, laid back and cheap. It's not a place to go if you expect to be oohed and ahhed, but you will have a good time. Nice beer selection, with a focus on local, i.e. Surly. Our food was pretty good as well. I thought the wings were very good. I love the burger and a malt special for $10. We'll talk about the pros of this place shortly. But let's first start off with a big con. It's important to start with the Tracy's major downside. Because if you want to get the best of this place, you have to know this: the quality of the food here is not consistent. Don't worry, though. Because the good news is that it's not all chaotic. It follows a certain pattern. I've been frequenting this place since 2008 and I discovered that the quality of their food is inversely proportional to the number of people dining here. It sounds simple. But it's based on a carefully designed research method constituted of scientific experiment, measurement, sampling, and close observation. Now that I reveal the pattern, it's not simply a hypothesis. It's now officially a theory that explains the inconsistency in their food quality! I entertained different possibilities (change of cooks, change of suppliers, inconsistency of my mood, etc.) and no hypothesis other than the one I just talked about explains the problem in hand. Now, whenever I go to Tracy's I bring this chart with me. I count people sitting in there and see what quality I could expect!! Having this con in mind, here are the reasons why this place is better than your average bar: 1- The beer selection is nice. 2- The food menu is extensive and satisfies a wide range of tastes. 3- They have excellent happy hours and daily specials (my favorites are their half-priced burgers and wooden nickles.) 4- Unlike many other places, their Cajun burger is, as expected, hot! 5- Free popcorn!

Ah, Tracy's. I love this place. Pros: food and drink specials EVERY night (including wooden nickles on a couple nights, which is like 2 for 1's but better), bar trivia on Wednesday, really good food (some standard bar fare (I love their burgers, many people clamor over their wings but I'm not really a wing guy) but also several interesting entree options like curry or mixed grill shishkabobs), free popcorn, nice enough interior. Cons: a little small so it can easily get packed during the busier nights/specials (wooden nickles especially so), dirty bathroom, the location isn't the most convenient. All in all one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis. Definitely worth checking out!

Met some new fun people here today for an afternoon drink as an intro. to our new city... Our bartender was friendly but not overzealous, and had some nice suggestions on the coffee drinks when I ordered a Bailey's and coffee- "Have you ever had a Drunk Monk?" and I am glad I took his advice. Pretty solid for a shitty bar but it gets really busy and that's where the fun stops for me. It's often a pain in the arse to find a table and then you end up shouting at your companions or not talking at all. It's good for cheap drinks I guess, if you follow their specials, but drinking stale Miller Lite is pretty disgusting. It seems like they've tried to step up the food into a quasi-upscale thing and what I had recently (can't even recall the dish) was a little bland and bizarre. I preferred the place back when they just served decent burgers and a few other things. I like dive bars that don't get so jam-packed, I guess. The place is a Seward institution but it seems to be a destination by default because there aren't many bars nearby.

Tracy's is a simple neighborhood bar and it happens to have a few vegan options. I had their home-made veggie burger (all-American style, though there are a few other varieties) which was not bad. I liked the taste of the patty (though it was a bit soft and crumbly), but I was less impressed with the industrial-grade lettuce, tomato and white-flour bun they used. The fries were good. Tracy's also has a tempeh reuben, a mock duck curry and a tempeh hash (on the weekends). I'm not sure why they don't serve any tofu dishes (how about a fried tofu burrito, or a tofu scramble?); it's especially strange because they do have tempeh. A seitan/mock duck sandwich or burger would be great as well. Space around the bar is cramped and the beer selection isn't all that great, but I like that Tracy's is trying to hold its own against Pizza Luce and Triple Rock, which are the two nearest ultra vegan-friendly bar/restaurants. If Tracy's added a few more thoughtful and varied vegan options I'd be back often.

There seems to be a special going on at all times at Tracy's Saloon. What has been labeled as a dive bar in the past, now deserves bragging rights in regard to their food and drink prices. From what I hear everything is homemade, such as their condiments and hand-cut fries. Their juicy lucy's in my opinion are in competition with popular burger joints around town, except Tracy's wins because you can actually get a table. This is a convenient location for me, both close to work and home. My favorite special has to be the wooden nickel happy hours. It's like a punch card that rewards drunken denizens. With two wooden nickels burning a hole in my pocket, I see myself returning again in the very near future (especially since I was there twice this past weekend).

Tracy's is close to where I live, they have great specials, and everyone there is quite down-to-earth (if not too busy, you can actually chat w the wait staff). They have a variety of foods (the mixed grill is delightful) ...and they serve full menu until some ridiculously late 1:30-ish time. I heard Tracy's had a good 40 cent Tuesday wing special, so that is basically what has attracted me there. My first visit was good. My second visit totally sucked. First, the good experience: I came on a Tuesday evening when it was busy. Hopping in fact. I was lucky to get an open stool at the bar. Great wings, served piping hot. Buffalo wings are totally average, which to me means delicious. Don't get Teriyaki. They use a cheap Teriyaki sauce that's sort of sweet and gross. Now the sucky experience. My next visit was at 11:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 1). Judging from how almost totally-empty this place was so early in the day, it was a little disconcerting and raised a red flag. They don't apparently attract a lunch crowd. But I'm wanting wings, so I sit at the bar, and this is the dialog with the server: Me: I'll have a dozen buffalo, and half-dozen spicy-hot wings. Server: You can only order 10 at a time. Me: What? That must have changed. I ordered six of each last time I was here. Server: During our wing special you can do that. Me: You don't have a wing special? Server: We do, it starts at 5. Me: Oh.... So this was the second red flag. I should've just left, because their regular price wings are $9 for ten which is really a ripoff... I could just as easily go to a nice sit-down restaurant and get the same thing for $7. But I remember having good wings there, I was hungry, so I acquiesced and placed an order for 10. I must have waited for like 20-25 minutes before the wings finally showed up, and they were COLD. Well, room temperature. Obviously I didn't bother eating them. I just paid for my beer and left. The server apologized, somewhat apathetically. I said, "Yeah I'll come back when you guys are a little busier." So here's the takeaway: They shouldn't even bother being open before 5:00 on weekdays because the place is totally dead before then. So don't even bother going here before 5:00. I speculated this is what happened behind the scenes: My food order was the first one that involved frying, so it took 10-15 minutes before oil was hot enough to fry wings. Then the cook probably got frozen wings from the freezer and maybe didn't fry them long enough, so the inside of the wings was just barely warm. Another theory is perhaps even if they were cooked correctly, they might have sat 10 minutes waiting to be served because the servers were milling around socializing because they weren't busy enough to be in any sort of groove serving customers (the few including me that were there). What bar doesn't ask you if you'd like a drink when you order food? The server almost turned away after I placed my wing order when just remembered I hadn't ordered a beer. Felt like it was time for an update after having dinner at Tracy's after the Loppet this weekend. First of all, TOTCHOS. Tater tot nachos. Yum. Second of all, their menu is eclectic as heck for a bar. Open it and see everything from blue cheese-stuffed burgers (a la Lucy) to linguini and red curry with mock duck. They seem to prepare much of their food old-fashioned way. I ordered chicken strips which came house-breaded (the breading was just OK---very plain) with buffalo sauce that definitely did not taste like it came out of a bottle labeled "wing sauce." That sauce is goooood. I disliked the beer cheese soup though, which is made with Summit and Surly. I thought it would be amazing, but it was pretty gritty and beer-y (moreso than most). Third of all, specials. Tracy's has great specials, like 8-11 p.m. happy hour on Saturday nights! 1/2 price apps and 2-4-1 beers. The second beer can be redeemed at any time with your wooden nickel. Fourth of all, wings. I'll say it again: It's like stealing poultry from a baby... a baby named Tracy. Wing night is on Tuesdays. Get any flavors your heart desires for 40 cents each.

While I love the wooden nickel happy hours and the tater tots and 'Totchos' on Tracy's menu, I cannot look past their denial of a simple request. To set the scene - Me: hungover and really craving a cheeseburger and tater tots. Tracy's: serving their brunch menu for another 30 minutes. I queried our waitress about the 'Breakfast Burger' on the brunch menu, which was served with a piece of toast and a fried egg. I asked if it would be possible to hold the egg and add cheese and put the burger on one of the 200+ plus buns I could see stacked on the shelves in the open kitchen window. She responded with something along the lines of 'I kind of doubt it but let me check with the cooks.' So she heads into the kitchen and comes back and says 'No way jose.' I tell her I understand that the kitchen is sticking to their guns about the brunch menu, but I can visibly see the buns and know damn well that they have a single slice of cheese that can top some ground meat, and for that matter, brunch was ending shortly and they would have to start serving the full menu. Again, she reiterates 'Sorry.' What's the final result? Did I leave in disgust (as I should have)? No. I bit the bullet and played their game. I had to order the 'Breakfast Burger' subbing out egg and adding another piece of toast, with no tater tots and no cheese. No effing joke. Principles are principles but in this case rigidity to principles has cost Tracy's a good chunk of my respect, which they can (and will most likely) win back slowly and surely (and with wooden-nickels).

Now I am a little bias on any place that has a wing special. It is nearly impossible for me to find fault in an establishment when I am eating good wings. One of the particularly amazing things about this wing special, is that you can get several different flavors of wings, all for one low price of .40 cents per wing. This might not seem like a HUGE deal, but usually during a promotional wing night, they offer one flavor, or a wing minimum. (This is going to sound like a contradiction, but I really don't know why anyone would get anything other than Buffalo wings. Seems like a waste of a wing.) The place is comfortable, not too loud, and the service extremely fast. It was almost like they read my mind and ordered what I wanted before I knew what I had wanted. The reason why I will return (besides the wings, did I mention the wings?) was I got to see a man fall asleep leaning on a foosball table. I got to eat onion rings that were the size of bracelets, and the ladies room smelled fantastic! (but be careful, there were no locks on the doors... I don't know what kind of party atmosphere they were trying to promote.) Pretty delicious experience.

One of the best deals in town. Went there Monday night for half price burgers. It also happened to be 'wooden nickle' happy hour after 8pm. So we got two burgers and four good beers for $20! Tracy's does neighborhood dive bar well but ups the ante by having some great tap beer options and a good menu. Really enjoyed a curry/rice/chicken dish with a pint of Surly Furious. Tracy's is a warm, unpretentious neighborhood place (I live in Uptown so that's a welcome change in attitude and ambiance). What I tasted of the California burger was delicious. I was very hungry so chewing was a luxury I could barely afford. My fella's wild boar shepherds pie was surprisingly good, gamey in a good way, and piping hot. This is not your run-of-the-mill pub food. Tracy's is worth a trip to Seward, I'd say, for above average food, the smell of fresh popcorn wafting through the place, and polite service.
A great hole in the wall bar and eatery. it's obvious the decor and fixtures are old, sometimes there's popcorn on the floor but hey..the point of Tracy's isn't to give the customer brilliant flashy razzle tazzle art deco environment. People come for the cheap drinks and some of the best food in town. daily specials, big juicy burgers and if you like deep friend mushrooms you wont find any better in the STATE they're huge!! If you've never been try Tracy's for sure.

Tracy's has a nice beer selection, including Summit Oatmeal Stout, which can be hard to track down. Their food is hit or miss, but is generally good. I had their beer cheese soup one evening, and although it was sorta hard to swallow as a soup, it would probably be alright if you had a bunch of texas toast or chips and just used it as a dip. Way way way too thick. Their wings are tastey, and they have good drink deals. The atmosphere is generally a bit strange; random 21 year olds mixing with semi-creepy leering older men. Then, it is that part of town, where either side of Franklin seem like worlds apart. As for the service, not impressed, but again, it's a dinky bar, so I never really expected anything too terribly professional. One night I was here with 5 friends and the server charged us their gratuity for parties of 6 and over. Normally it wouldn't have been that big of deal; as long as the service is decent I always tip at least 20%. Unfortunately the service was not decent, it was kinda the worst. Needless to say, we decided to speak up about the incorrect addition of gratuity, at which point the server seemed seriously irritated. One of the places I wait at refuses to add gratuity no matter how large the party, in order to ensure that all patrons get the best service, and servers aren't able to make guaranteed tips without working hard for it. I won't say that I'm necessarily always too happy about this practice, but this girl definitely proved to me why an establishment may want to have such a policy in place. In all the staff seem pretty young and unpolished, but I'm guessing it's one of those starter jobs for people coming into the industry. The oatmeal stout makes it worth it.

So my star rating hasn't changed, but that's because the service was a heck of a lot better the second time, and it's a true 4 star rather than a tot star. We came here on a tuesday night, it was pretty late about 10pm. It was still busy with the twins game still on and being wing tuesday. however there was a little table for us to sit at right at the front (lucky) and we were greeted within a couple minutes by the bartender/server. We got the totchos and water right away just in case she got busy. She came back after about 5 minutes and asked if we wanted anything else to eat and we ordered buffalo wings. The totchos came out within that 5 minutes and they were loaded with a generous amount of REAL cheese. Nothing I dislike more than that fake nacho syrup.. unless that's what i'm aiming for. We devoured the totchos and I really enjoyed the homemade salsa.. but the flavored sour cream not so much. We both gave it a chance, but I think they would've been much better with plain ol regular sour cream. No need to make everything fancy. Our wings came out pretty much as soon as we stuffed our faced full of tots and cheese. I was basically full. We got water refills a few minutes later from someone else. The wings were hot and they were a really nice size. However, There was something about the sauce that just didn't taste right. I was only able to eat about 5 of my 10 wings, mostly due to the tots and not the flavor. But i don't know... i can't quite put my finger on what it was. I let my boyfriend take the rest of mine home and have them for left overs. I'm not saying I wont give them another chance, because it is a homemade sauce.. but it wasn't my favorite flavor. The waitress/bartender brought our check over after we got a box from someone else (which I don't really mind being helped by 3 different people because the service was really fast but who gets the tip?) and we were in and out within 35 minutes. We will definitely be back at some point but try not to park next to the garbage. It almost made me puke with the grease and trash smell.

I've been hearing about Tracy's totchos forever but, let me tell you, they aren't that great. I will eat the hell out of anything even remotely nacho-like, but totchos just taste like nothing. Under-ripe tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and olives that taste like garbage do no favors for the tator tots, trust me. If I think about the fact that the cheese made the entire mess look like a 2nd grade art project, it still makes my stomach turn. One might say that the service was attentive, but I'm going to say that it was WAY too much. The minute any new person joined our group the waitress was immediately on top of them. Of course they didn't know what they wanted yet, which was met with a roll of the eyes or a "I'm-too-busy-for-your-indecisiveness" sigh. When it came time to take anyone's money for the check, she was nowhere to be found. At least the drinks were strong. A few of us ended up over at Pizza Luce afterwards, which is probably where we should have went in the first place.

I have been going to Tracy's for many years. In that time it has gone from a dive bar with some food to a quality restaurant with dive bar prices. It is the best place in the twin cities to watch Monday Night Football. Mondays have half-priced buggers and half-priced drink. These are not post-game specials, they run during the game. They have a huge variety of food; burgers, sandwiches, whole fresh fish, salads, curry, tachos, etc. It is the only place I know of where you can make a mixed group of drinkers happy. They even have a few VEGAN options. To help all, some downsides should be noted. The veggie burger is vegan, and falls apart when you pick it up. The cheese-stuffed burger will burn you when the hot filling erupts. The regular salads are good, but the side salad you get if you sub-out your fries is small and boring. The fish is served head-on, and that freaks people out. Staff turnover is constant, leading to some incidents of bad service.

I lived in Seward years ago and really like this place. Now it's new owners have stepped it up a notch. It still has tater tots which helped get the fifth star. The Surly taps are what puts Tracy's over the top. They usually have 4 Surly beers on tap. Plus, on Wednesday nights they have trivia night but more importantly, they have $3 taps! The service is great here and they usually have a game on TV.

Food is above-average quality for bar food. My boyfriend and I come here a lot as we live nearby and are totally addicted to the sauteed broccolini and the dry rub wings. The dry rub is very similar to Shorty and Wags, for those that are familiar. The broccolini is always perfectly crisp-tender and seasoned with lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. We've tried their totchos also and I didn't really care for them, but I'm not really into tater tots in the first place. Between the tots, sour cream, salsa and melted shredded cheese the dish was one big mush, whereas I prefer my nachos crunchy--texture is a big thing for me. We never seem to make it there during happy hour. The couple of times we have, the drink specials were meh. $4 Summit EPA pints and 1/2 price margaritas. I HATE Summit of any kind so I ordered a margarita...and could barely choke it down. Cheap margarita mix + cheaper tequila = acid reflux city. Don't be a cheapo like me; just pay full price for something you know you like. I'm not sure if they typically have security there; I don't think I have ever seen any, but if they don't, they really should. The last two times we've been there, there's been crackheads loitering about and harassing patrons for money both outside and inside the place. This most recently occurred this past Saturday night around 7pm, and one other time around 9pm on a weeknight--point being, these incidents weren't isolated or limited to typical late-night antics that can sometimes occur in bars. Let's face it, this is not the best neighborhood. It's not terrible, but it's not great. There is a large transient population that hangs around this 'hood. Usually that's a non-issue, but it is something to keep in mind if you're rollin' solo.

Seward has plenty of businesses I frequent, so it's only natural that I've stopped into Tracy's a few times for drinks - and have been pleased with my experiences. They have a good beer selection but also make a killer bloody mary for those Sundays when hair-o-the-dog is just what you need. While I've never tried the food yet, it seems to have options for carnivores and vegetarians alike, but it does get busy and the times I've come for dinner, it's been too packed. It seems mid-afternoon or late night works best if you don't feel like waiting for a table to open up. As for the environment itself, the place has a clean and cozy vibe without being stuffy OR overly casual. While I haven't encountered the happy hour wooden nickel promotion yet, I've heard enough about it to want to take advantage one of these days! The bar is a bit small but worth bellying up to if you're able. Bartenders are often friendly and just chatty enough.

Having several neighborhood hangouts within walking distance of home is something I love about living in Seward. I've got my coffeehouse (2nd Moon), my cafés (Birchwood, Seward, Clicquot Club), and a handful of good restaurants (including Pizza Luce, True Thai, the Himalayan). And then there's Tracy's. Tracy's Saloon is one of those well-worn, comfortable places where everyone is welcome. Nothing fancy, it's just a friendly place to grab a stool or sink down into a booth. My beverage of choice is beer. And on that count, Tracy's offers a nice variety, including pints of local favorites Summit and Surly. More surprising, the menu features a wide selection of well prepared sandwiches and entrees. Not gourmet, mind you, but several notches above your average bar food. Only once have I been disappointed. The meat on the last Rueben I had at Tracy's was incredibly tough. I go back and forth between the Club, the Rueben, and patty melt. Plus they offer free popcorn, a good array of specials, and tater tots. Yum. For all those reasons--did I mention its proximity to home?--Tracy's has become a favorite spot to spend an evening hanging out with neighbors and friends.

Yet another place I've been putting off all these years. My server was the bartender, John. He was so awesome. I sat at a high top by the window, for the light. He immediately directed me to half price apps, on a Saturday, sweet. I got the hummus, and it was just as good as any middle East place. It's on a bed of shredded lettuce, which I will order without, too messy. On the platter is enough other stuff for a salad, including feta cheese. I love that they have a signature beer cheese soup daily. Watch out, it's more ale than cheese, so get that designated driver. Though not a classic Irish pub, they have a shepards pie with boar. I can't wait to try that. Oh, 99 I love you.

Several wing flavors. Can't decide which one you want? Don't worry, you can split your order between two. That's what I did! Got the buffalo wings and the bbq wings. The BUFFALO wings were naked (not breaded) and doused in sauce. They reminded me a lot of the wings at Runyons in the way that frying them un-breaded made the skin a bit tougher. The BBQ wings were the same fried wings, but with a tangy sauce that dripped. For me, it would have been nice if they were grilled or maybe finished off in the oven...they were just too wet. In total there were about 10 wings which should have cost me $10.25. However, to my surprise this appetizer was 1/2 priced and so were the fries I got. The fries were good and plentiful. The were a bit salty for me (which is a rarity) but other than that I really liked them. Skinny, crisp and light! They were served with an aioli which was okay alone but even better when combined with ketchup. To wash it all down, I tried the Caribbean Cosmo which was a steal at $7.25 and they didn't skimp on the liquor. I don't typically get/like cosmos, but enjoyed this one; it wasn't strong upon first sip, but it eventually the alcohol caught up with me. That's how I like my drinks (slow and steady)! Overall, majority of their cocktails were priced really well. They have ample seating, and space in the dining area to accommodate larger groups. At the bar they have two smaller TV's, but with the bar being emptier and the volume being up...I still couldn't hear anything. Service was fine, nothing friendly or outstanding, but also nothing rude or slow. If I was in the area on an early Saturday evening or late evening, yes I'd consider returning; especially when you consider my entire meal (including drink) was only $15.88. YAY for Happy Hour!!!

SCORE! We gave Tracy's another chance a couple of days ago. They are a different place altogether service-wise. It's such a treat because their food has always been crave-worthy. They were busy and still, the moment we sat down our waiter was there to great us. He didn't rush us, just let us know that he saw us come in. Everyone who waited on us was both friendly and energetic. None of the "doing you a favor by noticing you. I hate my life. Sigh." Now that the service matches the food, no one is going to need to twist my arm to return. Tracy's has the best fries. Please try the Kirby burger. This place loves to do specials like date night deals and different burgers. Worth a peek at their website to see what's going on. The Totchos are fantastically good. Tater tots and cheese - who knew?

Tracy's is a decent bar with great bar food. I had the vegetable curry, which was delicious. The apricot chutney was fantastic, but I do think that the curry could have used a few more veggies and more rice. It was pretty much red pepper (big slices) and cilantro in a great curry sauce. Potato, cauliflower, peas, carrots - any traditional curry veggies would have been a welcome addition. I also had a cosmopolitan, which was fine - nothing to brag about. My friend ordered a Manhattan and it came out in a martini glass and had a ton of vermouth. I'd say the beer and the food is great. It's also super loud in there and the bathrooms are some of the most awkward I have been in. If you are concerned about handicap accessibility, the bathrooms are a challenge.

Tracy's is just my favorite place to eat in Minneapolis for a regular night out, my neighborhood go-to. Since we live in Seward, it's nice to have a place that offers affordable, yet delicious, food and drinks. Their food and drink specials are great, and you are most likely to find us here on Tuesdays for wing night (the Tracy's rub is so good!) Beyond the wings, the quality of the plated meals is really unexpected from a place that looks so dive-y from the outside (with things like Curry and Steaks) The mid-week dinner special is always a really great value. Other things that are oddly delicious-the garlic Broccolini, the stuffed dates and the garden salad with chicken in the Tracy's hot sauce. The service always kind of sucks, but you can only ask for so much, right?

I am sure it is great news for the business but really awful to wait 30-45 minutes for a table that will never become available because the business has no real system to usher waiting patrons. I used to come to Tracy's all the time for work happy hour. I absolutely love the wooden nickel happy hour nights. It's basically 241, but you can save them up and come back and drink for free (with tip of course!) I don't come here as often, but I did notice the free popcorn is gone, super sad because I think this was best free popcorn. Oh well. The dart boards are gone as well, but they were kind of dangerous. Other than some of my favorite pastimes missing Tracy's still seems to deliver. The service is generally efficient and friendly, serving a small but decent variety of beers. While I've never tried the food, it smells good, and they have some crazy good HH deals. HH M-F from 4-6:30pm and again at 8:30-11pm. It's like the earliest late night if you are looking for a deal that comes before 10. They have drink and food specials during these times, changing with the day. There is a small parking lot out back, but usually plenty of street parking. Check it out!

Tracy's is my favorite neighborhood bar of any neighborhood ever. Their happy hours are varied but consistent, and the 2 for 1 wooden nickles are genius. Their food is far better than standard bar food and they have a good selection of beer. As a bonus their free popcorn is the best bar popcorn I've had - not too salty... but salty enough. Great bar environment. Show up early on burger night, and keep an eye out for the creamy potato dill soup. AND LIKE, 3.50 BLOODIES DURING BRUNCH HOURS? YES PLEASE. I really like their bloody. It's classic, not a lot of fixings, and their olives actually are the only bad thing I've ever experienced at Tracy's, but I still order it time after time. Plus the 3.50 deal really is unbeatable. It's a tall glass, not watered down.

I'd suggest ordering fries "crispy " and not expecting to get a seat right away, it's a popular place.

4 stars for the wings and the beer. 2 stars for the service. 3 stars overall. I went for happy hour today with a co-worker who raves about the wings here. They were quite good. Went with the BBQ. 9 bucks for 10 wings. Lot of meat and lot of sauce. Much better than a BW3 but not as good as D-Spot (but no beer at D-Spot). Best to go on Tuesdays for the Wings from what I understand when they are on special and have a new flavor of the week each Tuesday. The two stars on the service is no knock on the friendliness of the staff. They were just outnumbered by customers too much where they couldn't keep up. They only had one bartender and one server for the tables. I waited what felt like ten minutes to get my first beer. When my co-worker arrived he waited probably fifteen minutes for his first beer, no exaggeration. It was also a really long wait for the food to come out. Bartender was cool, though, and apologized for the delay. He recommended the Surly Wet. I had never had it before, and it is awesome! Similar to a Bell's Hopslam. Unfortunately, you can only get it in a ten ounce glass because of the high ABV on it. I will go back. They have a bunch of other stuff on the menu that I would like to try - rainbow trout, apple cured ribs and prawns with ginger noodle to name a few.

Tracy's is everything a bar should be. It's my neighborhood spot. The staff is super friendly, there is a good selection of all varieties of booze at good prices, and the wooden nickel situation cannot be beat. There's always an interesting crowd consisting of the surrounding Riverside and Seward neighbors, plus bikers rolling through on Franklin. Tracy's is my jam!

I've been twice now and both times it was busy, but with places to sit. And you can hear the people you're with! I also really like all of the old Minneapolis things on the wall. There is a great panorama of old Metropolitan Stadium on one of the walls that I would like to stea-- I mean, find one of my own someday. They have a decent beer list and 1/2 price margs on Fridays. It's also nice that Seward Cafe is right across the street... you could now go between here and Seward for their late night happy hour or if you wanted a different food option over there. HOWEVER, are you a tater tot fan? Good choice. Are you a fan of nachos? Thank goodness, because the Totchos* are amazing! Seriously, get them.

Tracy's is the perfect bar for the Seward neighborhood. It's definitely old school, but they also have an excellent beer/food menu. I went on a Monday with a couple of girlfriends for this great deal they have where all the burgers are half-off from 5-midnight. We also were there for the excellent happy hour. I think it's $2 off all the appetizers, $2 Miller Lites, and $3.50 rails? Pretty good! I was tempted with the house-pickled eggs, with the happy hour, they were a buck. Next time! I got the Kirby burger...a burger with cheddar, homemade(!!!) pickles, and 1000 Island dressing. I also got the tots, which are $0.50 extra and well worth it. The burger was huge...not to mention $4.50. I think I had two of the Miller Lites, and my meal ended up being $10.50 for everything. That's insane considering the quality. My good friend lives across the street from here, so I can't wait to come back. Bonus:free popcorn!

huge fan. Thurs. wooden nickel nights & tacos. Specials, every day but that is my favorite one. Every time I have gone there it has been an awesome experience. Great tacos, awesome drink specials, foosball (even if I suck). I have not had any issues with service. Lots of bike parking and in a cute neighborhood. I really have nothing bad to say about Tracy's - never had a bad experience. I even accidentally walked out on my tab the other night and they were totally cool when I came back 20 mins later all shameful like. Go there. Great specials & cool people!

The service is always super friendly, they have a large selection of drinks, the menu is wide & varied & everything is extremely reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Tracy's if you are looking for upscale bar food at an extremely reasonable price!!

Good food, good beer, good prices and ok service have made Tracy's our go-to place for post-soccer nourishment. I was initially skeptical when Tracy's was suggested, as the outside of the bar intimated divey-ness, but I have since been proved wrong. Looking for a cheap snack with your beer? Can't go wrong with crispy tater tots! They have totchos too, but I found them a little bland. Looking for a protein fix? How about their mixed grill, it has well-cooked land and sea animals! Looking for an excuse to drink a lot of beer? Try the red curry, it's pretty spicy even for me and comes with crispy lentil chips! Every bit is delicious but requires multiple gulpings of booze. Haven't tried their homemade soups yet, but there's a new one for every day of the week. Like underwear, but edible. I'm aware of edible underwear but let's not go there. Most everything is cooked on the premises yet the prices are really reasonable. This makes it attractive to hipsters and foodies as well as keeping the old-timers. I'd come here more often if I lived in Seward.

Gave it two stars because this used to be our neighborhood haunt, but it's been getting fancier and fancier every year. We figured they would eventually price the old regulars out, and after they rehabbed the place this winter they finally did. Nothing on the menu under $10 bucks, and the happy hours are ridiculously short now. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Still got enough places in the neighborhood if we want cheap, and if we want to pay Tracy's prices, there are better selections too. Based on what I've seen lately, we aren't the only formerly loyal patrons who are going elsewhere.

They have an excellent Friday night date special. I think it is like $25 for two entrees and wine. Also good burger selections.

Tracy's has great "bar" food, but have also been expanding their menu the last few years. My favorite thing about Tracy's? Weekday evening happy hours. We'll talk about the pros of this place shortly. But let's first start off with a big con. It's important to start with the Tracy's major downside. Because if you want to get the best of this place, you have to know this: the quality of the food here is not consistent. Don't worry, though. Because the good news is that it's not all chaotic. It follows a certain pattern. I've been frequenting this place since 2008 and I discovered that the quality of their food is inversely proportional to the number of people dining here. It sounds simple. But it's based on a carefully designed research method constituted of scientific experiment, measurement, sampling, and close observation. Now that I reveal the pattern, it's not simply a hypothesis. It's now officially a theory that explains the inconsistency in their food quality! I entertained different possibilities (change of cooks, change of suppliers, inconsistency of my mood, etc.) and no hypothesis other than the one I just talked about explains the problem in hand. Now, whenever I go to Tracy's I bring this chart with me. I count people sitting in there and see what quality I could expect!! Having this con in mind, here are the reasons why this place is better than your average bar: 1- The beer selection is nice. 2- The food menu is extensive and satisfies a wide range of tastes. 3- They have excellent happy hours and daily specials (my favorites are their half-priced burgers and wooden nickles.) 4- Unlike many other places, their Cajun burger is, as expected, hot! 5- Free popcorn!

Ah, Tracy's. I love this place. Pros: food and drink specials EVERY night (including wooden nickles on a couple nights, which is like 2 for 1's but better), bar trivia on Wednesday, really good food (some standard bar fare (I love their burgers, many people clamor over their wings but I'm not really a wing guy) but also several interesting entree options like curry or mixed grill shishkabobs), free popcorn, nice enough interior. Cons: a little small so it can easily get packed during the busier nights/specials (wooden nickles especially so), dirty bathroom, the location isn't the most convenient. All in all one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis. Definitely worth checking out!

Met some new fun people here today for an afternoon drink as an intro. to our new city... Our bartender was friendly but not overzealous, and had some nice suggestions on the coffee drinks when I ordered a Bailey's and coffee- "Have you ever had a Drunk Monk?" and I am glad I took his advice. The vibe is fun and casual, and I look forward to coming here again. The only reason I gave Tracy's 4 stars and not 5 is that the Oregon Pinot Noir was not available by the glass... I have a soft spot for Oregon Pinots... =D

Pretty solid for a shitty bar but it gets really busy and that's where the fun stops for me. It's often a pain in the arse to find a table and then you end up shouting at your companions or not talking at all. It's good for cheap drinks I guess, if you follow their specials, but drinking stale Miller Lite is pretty disgusting. It seems like they've tried to step up the food into a quasi-upscale thing and what I had recently (can't even recall the dish) was a little bland and bizarre. I preferred the place back when they just served decent burgers and a few other things. I like dive bars that don't get so jam-packed, I guess. The place is a Seward institution but it seems to be a destination by default because there aren't many bars nearby.

Tracy's is a simple neighborhood bar and it happens to have a few vegan options. I had their home-made veggie burger (all-American style, though there are a few other varieties) which was not bad. I liked the taste of the patty (though it was a bit soft and crumbly), but I was less impressed with the industrial-grade lettuce, tomato and white-flour bun they used. The fries were good. Tracy's also has a tempeh reuben, a mock duck curry and a tempeh hash (on the weekends). I'm not sure why they don't serve any tofu dishes (how about a fried tofu burrito, or a tofu scramble?); it's especially strange because they do have tempeh. A seitan/mock duck sandwich or burger would be great as well. Space around the bar is cramped and the beer selection isn't all that great, but I like that Tracy's is trying to hold its own against Pizza Luce and Triple Rock, which are the two nearest ultra vegan-friendly bar/restaurants. If Tracy's added a few more thoughtful and varied vegan options I'd be back often.

There seems to be a special going on at all times at Tracy's Saloon. What has been labeled as a dive bar in the past, now deserves bragging rights in regard to their food and drink prices. From what I hear everything is homemade, such as their condiments and hand-cut fries. Their juicy lucy's in my opinion are in competition with popular burger joints around town, except Tracy's wins because you can actually get a table. This is a convenient location for me, both close to work and home. My favorite special has to be the wooden nickel happy hours. It's like a punch card that rewards drunken denizens. With two wooden nickels burning a hole in my pocket, I see myself returning again in the very near future (especially since I was there twice this past weekend).

Default hangout, especially after making the rounds at other places. Tracy's is close to where I live, they have great specials, and everyone there is quite down-to-earth (if not too busy, you can actually chat w the wait staff). Their drink menu is extensive and the drinks can get pretty cheap with their specials (wooden nickels, etc), and they have a different special every day. They have a variety of foods (the mixed grill is delightful) ...and they serve full menu until some ridiculously late 1:30-ish time. I really hardly ever eat burgers, and these days, almost all of the ones I do eat are at Tracy's... so good!!

This place is a fire trap. Too many tables and not enough room to move if its busy. The chicken fingers are pretty good. DON'T use the restrooms if you don't need to, unless you need your nose hairs burned off. The smell of rotten pee will knock you down.

Felt like it was time for an update after having dinner at Tracy's after the Loppet this weekend. First of all, TOTCHOS. Tater tot nachos. Yum. Second of all, their menu is eclectic as heck for a bar. Open it and see everything from blue cheese-stuffed burgers (a la Lucy) to linguini and red curry with mock duck. They seem to prepare much of their food old-fashioned way. I ordered chicken strips which came house-breaded (the breading was just OK---very plain) with buffalo sauce that definitely did not taste like it came out of a bottle labeled "wing sauce." That sauce is goooood. I disliked the beer cheese soup though, which is made with Summit and Surly. I thought it would be amazing, but it was pretty gritty and beer-y (moreso than most). Third of all, specials. Tracy's has great specials, like 8-11 p.m. happy hour on Saturday nights! 1/2 price apps and 2-4-1 beers. The second beer can be redeemed at any time with your wooden nickel. Fourth of all, wings. I'll say it again: It's like stealing poultry from a baby... a baby named Tracy. Wing night is on Tuesdays. Get any flavors your heart desires for 40 cents each.

Every neighborhood needs a bar like Tracy's. Low key, laid back and cheap. It's not a place to go if you expect to be oohed and ahhed, but you will have a good time. Nice beer selection, with a focus on local, i.e. Surly. Our food was pretty good as well. I thought the wings were very good. I love the burger and a malt special for $10. The malts are great and they were very nice about splitting it up for us. I'll be back to watch a Twins game and enjoy a beer or two. Oh, and the service was outstanding. Ian you are the man.

Now I am a little bias on any place that has a wing special. It is nearly impossible for me to find fault in an establishment when I am eating good wings. One of the particularly amazing things about this wing special, is that you can get several different flavors of wings, all for one low price of .40 cents per wing. This might not seem like a HUGE deal, but usually during a promotional wing night, they offer one flavor, or a wing minimum. (This is going to sound like a contradiction, but I really don't know why anyone would get anything other than Buffalo wings. Seems like a waste of a wing.) The place is comfortable, not too loud, and the service extremely fast. It was almost like they read my mind and ordered what I wanted before I knew what I had wanted. The reason why I will return (besides the wings, did I mention the wings?) was I got to see a man fall asleep leaning on a foosball table. I got to eat onion rings that were the size of bracelets, and the ladies room smelled fantastic! (but be careful, there were no locks on the doors... I don't know what kind of party atmosphere they were trying to promote.) Pretty delicious experience.

I heard Tracy's had a good 40 cent Tuesday wing special, so that is basically what has attracted me there. My first visit was good. My second visit totally sucked. First, the good experience: I came on a Tuesday evening when it was busy. Hopping in fact. I was lucky to get an open stool at the bar. Great wings, served piping hot. Buffalo wings are totally average, which to me means delicious. Don't get Teriyaki. They use a cheap Teriyaki sauce that's sort of sweet and gross. Now the sucky experience. My next visit was at 11:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 1). Judging from how almost totally-empty this place was so early in the day, it was a little disconcerting and raised a red flag. They don't apparently attract a lunch crowd. But I'm wanting wings, so I sit at the bar, and this is the dialog with the server: Me: I'll have a dozen buffalo, and half-dozen spicy-hot wings. Server: You can only order 10 at a time. Me: What? That must have changed. I ordered six of each last time I was here. Server: During our wing special you can do that. Me: You don't have a wing special? Server: We do, it starts at 5. Me: Oh.... So this was the second red flag. I should've just left, because their regular price wings are $9 for ten which is really a ripoff... I could just as easily go to a nice sit-down restaurant and get the same thing for $7. But I remember having good wings there, I was hungry, so I acquiesced and placed an order for 10. I must have waited for like 20-25 minutes before the wings finally showed up, and they were COLD. Well, room temperature. Obviously I didn't bother eating them. I just paid for my beer and left. The server apologized, somewhat apathetically. I said, "Yeah I'll come back when you guys are a little busier." So here's the takeaway: They shouldn't even bother being open before 5:00 on weekdays because the place is totally dead before then. So don't even bother going here before 5:00. I speculated this is what happened behind the scenes: My food order was the first one that involved frying, so it took 10-15 minutes before oil was hot enough to fry wings. Then the cook probably got frozen wings from the freezer and maybe didn't fry them long enough, so the inside of the wings was just barely warm. Another theory is perhaps even if they were cooked correctly, they might have sat 10 minutes waiting to be served because the servers were milling around socializing because they weren't busy enough to be in any sort of groove serving customers (the few including me that were there). What bar doesn't ask you if you'd like a drink when you order food? The server almost turned away after I placed my wing order when just remembered I hadn't ordered a beer. I ordered a Summit EPA and she starts pouring Summit Oatmeal Stout. She gets halfway into the pour and asks me, "Wait, did you want Oatmeal Stout?" The service is inattentive and nonchalant.

While I love the wooden nickel happy hours and the tater tots and 'Totchos' on Tracy's menu, I cannot look past their denial of a simple request. To set the scene - Me: hungover and really craving a cheeseburger and tater tots. Tracy's: serving their brunch menu for another 30 minutes. I queried our waitress about the 'Breakfast Burger' on the brunch menu, which was served with a piece of toast and a fried egg. I asked if it would be possible to hold the egg and add cheese and put the burger on one of the 200+ plus buns I could see stacked on the shelves in the open kitchen window. She responded with something along the lines of 'I kind of doubt it but let me check with the cooks.' So she heads into the kitchen and comes back and says 'No way jose.' I tell her I understand that the kitchen is sticking to their guns about the brunch menu, but I can visibly see the buns and know damn well that they have a single slice of cheese that can top some ground meat, and for that matter, brunch was ending shortly and they would have to start serving the full menu. Again, she reiterates 'Sorry.' What's the final result? Did I leave in disgust (as I should have)? No. I bit the bullet and played their game. I had to order the 'Breakfast Burger' subbing out egg and adding another piece of toast, with no tater tots and no cheese. No effing joke. Principles are principles but in this case rigidity to principles has cost Tracy's a good chunk of my respect, which they can (and will most likely) win back slowly and surely (and with wooden-nickels).

A great hole in the wall bar and eatery. it's obvious the decor and fixtures are old, sometimes there's popcorn on the floor but hey..the point of Tracy's isn't to give the customer brilliant flashy razzle tazzle art deco environment. People come for the cheap drinks and some of the best food in town. daily specials, big juicy burgers and if you like deep friend mushrooms you wont find any better in the STATE they're huge!! If you've never been try Tracy's for sure.

Tracy's has a nice beer selection, including Summit Oatmeal Stout, which can be hard to track down. Their food is hit or miss, but is generally good. I had their beer cheese soup one evening, and although it was sorta hard to swallow as a soup, it would probably be alright if you had a bunch of texas toast or chips and just used it as a dip. Way way way too thick. Their wings are tastey, and they have good drink deals. The atmosphere is generally a bit strange; random 21 year olds mixing with semi-creepy leering older men. Then, it is that part of town, where either side of Franklin seem like worlds apart. As for the service, not impressed, but again, it's a dinky bar, so I never really expected anything too terribly professional. One night I was here with 5 friends and the server charged us their gratuity for parties of 6 and over. Normally it wouldn't have been that big of deal; as long as the service is decent I always tip at least 20%. Unfortunately the service was not decent, it was kinda the worst. Needless to say, we decided to speak up about the incorrect addition of gratuity, at which point the server seemed seriously irritated. One of the places I wait at refuses to add gratuity no matter how large the party, in order to ensure that all patrons get the best service, and servers aren't able to make guaranteed tips without working hard for it. I won't say that I'm necessarily always too happy about this practice, but this girl definitely proved to me why an establishment may want to have such a policy in place. In all the staff seem pretty young and unpolished, but I'm guessing it's one of those starter jobs for people coming into the industry. The oatmeal stout makes it worth it.

So my star rating hasn't changed, but that's because the service was a heck of a lot better the second time, and it's a true 4 star rather than a tot star. We came here on a tuesday night, it was pretty late about 10pm. It was still busy with the twins game still on and being wing tuesday. however there was a little table for us to sit at right at the front (lucky) and we were greeted within a couple minutes by the bartender/server. We got the totchos and water right away just in case she got busy. She came back after about 5 minutes and asked if we wanted anything else to eat and we ordered buffalo wings. The totchos came out within that 5 minutes and they were loaded with a generous amount of REAL cheese. Nothing I dislike more than that fake nacho syrup.. unless that's what i'm aiming for. We devoured the totchos and I really enjoyed the homemade salsa.. but the flavored sour cream not so much. We both gave it a chance, but I think they would've been much better with plain ol regular sour cream. No need to make everything fancy. Our wings came out pretty much as soon as we stuffed our faced full of tots and cheese. I was basically full. We got water refills a few minutes later from someone else. The wings were hot and they were a really nice size. However, There was something about the sauce that just didn't taste right. I was only able to eat about 5 of my 10 wings, mostly due to the tots and not the flavor. But i don't know... i can't quite put my finger on what it was. I let my boyfriend take the rest of mine home and have them for left overs. I'm not saying I wont give them another chance, because it is a homemade sauce.. but it wasn't my favorite flavor. The waitress/bartender brought our check over after we got a box from someone else (which I don't really mind being helped by 3 different people because the service was really fast but who gets the tip?) and we were in and out within 35 minutes. We will definitely be back at some point but try not to park next to the garbage. It almost made me puke with the grease and trash smell.

I've been hearing about Tracy's totchos forever but, let me tell you, they aren't that great. I will eat the hell out of anything even remotely nacho-like, but totchos just taste like nothing. Under-ripe tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and olives that taste like garbage do no favors for the tator tots, trust me. If I think about the fact that the cheese made the entire mess look like a 2nd grade art project, it still makes my stomach turn. One might say that the service was attentive, but I'm going to say that it was WAY too much. The minute any new person joined our group the waitress was immediately on top of them. Of course they didn't know what they wanted yet, which was met with a roll of the eyes or a "I'm-too-busy-for-your-indecisiveness" sigh. When it came time to take anyone's money for the check, she was nowhere to be found. At least the drinks were strong. A few of us ended up over at Pizza Luce afterwards, which is probably where we should have went in the first place.

I have been going to Tracy's for many years. In that time it has gone from a dive bar with some food to a quality restaurant with dive bar prices. It is the best place in the twin cities to watch Monday Night Football. Mondays have half-priced buggers and half-priced drink. These are not post-game specials, they run during the game. They have a huge variety of food; burgers, sandwiches, whole fresh fish, salads, curry, tachos, etc. It is the only place I know of where you can make a mixed group of drinkers happy. They even have a few VEGAN options. To help all, some downsides should be noted. The veggie burger is vegan, and falls apart when you pick it up. The cheese-stuffed burger will burn you when the hot filling erupts. The regular salads are good, but the side salad you get if you sub-out your fries is small and boring. The fish is served head-on, and that freaks people out. Staff turnover is constant, leading to some incidents of bad service.

I lived in Seward years ago and really like this place. Now it's new owners have stepped it up a notch. It still has tater tots which helped get the fifth star. The Surly taps are what puts Tracy's over the top. They usually have 4 Surly beers on tap. Plus, on Wednesday nights they have trivia night but more importantly, they have $3 taps! The service is great here and they usually have a game on TV.

This is a cool neighborhood dive that was great to drop in on for a beer when I lived down the street. Even better when you bring your friends. The food, if you came for food (which isn't such a great idea with dives in general), is better than you should expect. Consider yourself lucky! Cheap beer and drinks are what this place is about!

This place is alright, a bit too many English and Theater majors here some nights for my liking. The free popcorn and good (cheap) beer selection usually makes up for it. My friends love the wings there, and overall its pretty good bar food fare. Excellent place to watch a Vikings game.

Buffalo Chicken wrap with your choice of fries, waffle fries, or tater tots can't be beat. Daily specials, pinball, and a great low-key bar makes this a great place for happy hour dinner or lunch.

Tracy's is everything a bar should be. It's my neighborhood spot. The staff is super friendly, there is a good selection of all varieties of booze at good prices, and the wooden nickel situation cannot be beat. There's always an interesting crowd consisting of the surrounding Riverside and Seward neighbors, plus bikers rolling through on Franklin. Tracy's is my jam!

I just went to Tracy's for the first time last week! They have a pretty legit happy hour and the service was phenomenal! I wish I remembered our bar tenders name...she rocked! Also, definitely recommend their tachos appetizer they were incredible! Will be going back soon!

Food is above-average quality for bar food. My boyfriend and I come here a lot as we live nearby and are totally addicted to the sauteed broccolini and the dry rub wings. The dry rub is very similar to Shorty and Wags, for those that are familiar. The broccolini is always perfectly crisp-tender and seasoned with lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. We've tried their totchos also and I didn't really care for them, but I'm not really into tater tots in the first place. Between the tots, sour cream, salsa and melted shredded cheese the dish was one big mush, whereas I prefer my nachos crunchy--texture is a big thing for me. We never seem to make it there during happy hour. The couple of times we have, the drink specials were meh. $4 Summit EPA pints and 1/2 price margaritas. I HATE Summit of any kind so I ordered a margarita...and could barely choke it down. Cheap margarita mix + cheaper tequila = acid reflux city. Don't be a cheapo like me; just pay full price for something you know you like. I'm not sure if they typically have security there; I don't think I have ever seen any, but if they don't, they really should. The last two times we've been there, there's been crackheads loitering about and harassing patrons for money both outside and inside the place. This most recently occurred this past Saturday night around 7pm, and one other time around 9pm on a weeknight--point being, these incidents weren't isolated or limited to typical late-night antics that can sometimes occur in bars. Let's face it, this is not the best neighborhood. It's not terrible, but it's not great. There is a large transient population that hangs around this 'hood. Usually that's a non-issue, but it is something to keep in mind if you're rollin' solo.

Seward has plenty of businesses I frequent, so it's only natural that I've stopped into Tracy's a few times for drinks - and have been pleased with my experiences. They have a good beer selection but also make a killer bloody mary for those Sundays when hair-o-the-dog is just what you need. While I've never tried the food yet, it seems to have options for carnivores and vegetarians alike, but it does get busy and the times I've come for dinner, it's been too packed. It seems mid-afternoon or late night works best if you don't feel like waiting for a table to open up. As for the environment itself, the place has a clean and cozy vibe without being stuffy OR overly casual. While I haven't encountered the happy hour wooden nickel promotion yet, I've heard enough about it to want to take advantage one of these days! The bar is a bit small but worth bellying up to if you're able. Bartenders are often friendly and just chatty enough.

I have never had any luck getting a table here and this is my third separate visit. I am sure it is great news for the business but really awful to wait 30-45 minutes for a table that will never become available because the business has no real system to usher waiting patrons. Sorry, "just stand around and wait" doesn't work.

Several wing flavors. Can't decide which one you want? Don't worry, you can split your order between two. That's what I did! Got the buffalo wings and the bbq wings. The BUFFALO wings were naked (not breaded) and doused in sauce. They reminded me a lot of the wings at Runyons in the way that frying them un-breaded made the skin a bit tougher. The BBQ wings were the same fried wings, but with a tangy sauce that dripped. For me, it would have been nice if they were grilled or maybe finished off in the oven...they were just too wet. In total there were about 10 wings which should have cost me $10.25. However, to my surprise this appetizer was 1/2 priced and so were the fries I got. The fries were good and plentiful. The were a bit salty for me (which is a rarity) but other than that I really liked them. Skinny, crisp and light! They were served with an aioli which was okay alone but even better when combined with ketchup. To wash it all down, I tried the Caribbean Cosmo which was a steal at $7.25 and they didn't skimp on the liquor. I don't typically get/like cosmos, but enjoyed this one; it wasn't strong upon first sip, but it eventually the alcohol caught up with me. That's how I like my drinks (slow and steady)! Overall, majority of their cocktails were priced really well. They have ample seating, and space in the dining area to accommodate larger groups. At the bar they have two smaller TV's, but with the bar being emptier and the volume being up...I still couldn't hear anything. Service was fine, nothing friendly or outstanding, but also nothing rude or slow. If I was in the area on an early Saturday evening or late evening, yes I'd consider returning; especially when you consider my entire meal (including drink) was only $15.88. YAY for Happy Hour!!!

SCORE! We gave Tracy's another chance a couple of days ago. They are a different place altogether service-wise. It's such a treat because their food has always been crave-worthy. They were busy and still, the moment we sat down our waiter was there to great us. He didn't rush us, just let us know that he saw us come in. Everyone who waited on us was both friendly and energetic. None of the "doing you a favor by noticing you. I hate my life. Sigh." Now that the service matches the food, no one is going to need to twist my arm to return. Tracy's has the best fries. Please try the Kirby burger. This place loves to do specials like date night deals and different burgers. Worth a peek at their website to see what's going on. The Totchos are fantastically good. Tater tots and cheese - who knew?

Tracy's is a decent bar with great bar food. I had the vegetable curry, which was delicious. The apricot chutney was fantastic, but I do think that the curry could have used a few more veggies and more rice. It was pretty much red pepper (big slices) and cilantro in a great curry sauce. Potato, cauliflower, peas, carrots - any traditional curry veggies would have been a welcome addition. I also had a cosmopolitan, which was fine - nothing to brag about. My friend ordered a Manhattan and it came out in a martini glass and had a ton of vermouth. I'd say the beer and the food is great. It's also super loud in there and the bathrooms are some of the most awkward I have been in. If you are concerned about handicap accessibility, the bathrooms are a challenge.

Tracy's is my favorite neighborhood bar of any neighborhood ever. Their happy hours are varied but consistent, and the 2 for 1 wooden nickles are genius. Their food is far better than standard bar food and they have a good selection of beer. As a bonus their free popcorn is the best bar popcorn I've had - not too salty... but salty enough. Great bar environment. Show up early on burger night, and keep an eye out for the creamy potato dill soup. AND LIKE, 3.50 BLOODIES DURING BRUNCH HOURS? YES PLEASE. I really like their bloody. It's classic, not a lot of fixings, and their olives actually are the only bad thing I've ever experienced at Tracy's, but I still order it time after time. Plus the 3.50 deal really is unbeatable. It's a tall glass, not watered down.

Went with the BBQ. 9 bucks for 10 wings. Lot of meat and lot of sauce. Much better than a BW3 but not as good as D-Spot (but no beer at D-Spot). Best to go on Tuesdays for the Wings from what I understand when they are on special and have a new flavor of the week each Tuesday. The two stars on the service is no knock on the friendliness of the staff. They were just outnumbered by customers too much where they couldn't keep up. They only had one bartender and one server for the tables. I waited what felt like ten minutes to get my first beer. When my co-worker arrived he waited probably fifteen minutes for his first beer, no exaggeration. It was also a really long wait for the food to come out. Bartender was cool, though, and apologized for the delay. He recommended the Surly Wet. I had never had it before, and it is awesome! Similar to a Bell's Hopslam. Unfortunately, you can only get it in a ten ounce glass because of the high ABV on it. I will go back. They have a bunch of other stuff on the menu that I would like to try - rainbow trout, apple cured ribs and prawns with ginger noodle to name a few.

Yet another place I've been putting off all these years. My server was the bartender, John. He was so awesome. I sat at a high top by the window, for the light. He immediately directed me to half price apps, on a Saturday, sweet. I got the hummus, and it was just as good as any middle East place. It's on a bed of shredded lettuce, which I will order without, too messy. On the platter is enough other stuff for a salad, including feta cheese. I love that they have a signature beer cheese soup daily. Watch out, it's more ale than cheese, so get that designated driver. Though not a classic Irish pub, they have a shepards pie with boar. I can't wait to try that. Oh, 99 I love you.

I've been twice now and both times it was busy, but with places to sit. And you can hear the people you're with! I also really like all of the old Minneapolis things on the wall. There is a great panorama of old Metropolitan Stadium on one of the walls that I would like to stea-- I mean, find one of my own someday. They have a decent beer list and 1/2 price margs on Fridays. It's also nice that Seward Cafe is right across the street... you could now go between here and Seward for their late night happy hour or if you wanted a different food option over there. HOWEVER, are you a tater tot fan? Good choice. Are you a fan of nachos? Thank goodness, because the Totchos* are amazing! Seriously, get them.

Tracy's is the perfect bar for the Seward neighborhood. It's definitely old school, but they also have an excellent beer/food menu. I went on a Monday with a couple of girlfriends for this great deal they have where all the burgers are half-off from 5-midnight. We also were there for the excellent happy hour. I think it's $2 off all the appetizers, $2 Miller Lites, and $3.50 rails? Pretty good! I was tempted with the house-pickled eggs, with the happy hour, they were a buck. Next time! I got the Kirby burger...a burger with cheddar, homemade(!!!) pickles, and 1000 Island dressing. I also got the tots, which are $0.50 extra and well worth it. The burger was huge...not to mention $4.50. I think I had two of the Miller Lites, and my meal ended up being $10.50 for everything. That's insane considering the quality. My good friend lives across the street from here, so I can't wait to come back. Bonus:free popcorn!

Good food, good beer, good prices and ok service have made Tracy's our go-to place for post-soccer nourishment. I was initially skeptical when Tracy's was suggested, as the outside of the bar intimated divey-ness, but I have since been proved wrong. Looking for a cheap snack with your beer? Can't go wrong with crispy tater tots! They have totchos too, but I found them a little bland. Looking for a protein fix? How about their mixed grill, it has well-cooked land and sea animals! Looking for an excuse to drink a lot of beer? Try the red curry, it's pretty spicy even for me and comes with crispy lentil chips! Every bit is delicious but requires multiple gulpings of booze. Haven't tried their homemade soups yet, but there's a new one for every day of the week. Like underwear, but edible. I'm aware of edible underwear but let's not go there. Most everything is cooked on the premises yet the prices are really reasonable. This makes it attractive to hipsters and foodies as well as keeping the old-timers. I'd come here more often if I lived in Seward.

Gave it two stars because this used to be our neighborhood haunt, but it's been getting fancier and fancier every year. We figured they would eventually price the old regulars out, and after they rehabbed the place this winter they finally did. Nothing on the menu under $10 bucks, and the happy hours are ridiculously short now. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Still got enough places in the neighborhood if we want cheap, and if we want to pay Tracy's prices, there are better selections too. Based on what I've seen lately, we aren't the only formerly loyal patrons who are going elsewhere.

Tracy's has great "bar" food, but have also been expanding their menu the last few years. My favorite thing about Tracy's? Weekday evening happy hours. Beyond the wings, the quality of the plated meals is really unexpected from a place that looks so dive-y from the outside (with things like Curry and Steaks) The mid-week dinner special is always a really great value. Other things that are oddly delicious-the garlic Broccolini, the stuffed dates and the garden salad with chicken in the Tracy's hot sauce. The service always kind of sucks, but you can only ask for so much, right?

It's basically 241, but you can save them up and come back and drink for free (with tip of course!) The dart boards are gone as well, but they were kind of dangerous. Other than some of my favorite pastimes missing Tracy's still seems to deliver. The service is generally efficient and friendly, serving a small but decent variety of beers. While I've never tried the food, it smells good, and they have some crazy good HH deals. HH M-F from 4-6:30pm and again at 8:30-11pm. It's like the earliest late night if you are looking for a deal that comes before 10. They have drink and food specials during these times, changing with the day. There is a small parking lot out back, but usually plenty of street parking. Check it out!

We'll talk about the pros of this place shortly. But let's first start off with a big con. It's important to start with the Tracy's major downside. Because if you want to get the best of this place, you have to know this: the quality of the food here is not consistent. Don't worry, though. Because the good news is that it's not all chaotic. It follows a certain pattern. I've been frequenting this place since 2008 and I discovered that the quality of their food is inversely proportional to the number of people dining here. It sounds simple. But it's based on a carefully designed research method constituted of scientific experiment, measurement, sampling, and close observation. Now that I reveal the pattern, it's not simply a hypothesis. It's now officially a theory that explains the inconsistency in their food quality! I entertained different possibilities (change of cooks, change of suppliers, inconsistency of my mood, etc.) and no hypothesis other than the one I just talked about explains the problem in hand. Now, whenever I go to Tracy's I bring this chart with me. I count people sitting in there and see what quality I could expect!! Having this con in mind, here are the reasons why this place is better than your average bar: 1- The beer selection is nice. 2- The food menu is extensive and satisfies a wide range of tastes. 3- They have excellent happy hours and daily specials (my favorites are their half-priced burgers and wooden nickles.) 4- Unlike many other places, their Cajun burger is, as expected, hot! 5- Free popcorn!

Ah, Tracy's. I love this place. Pros: food and drink specials EVERY night (including wooden nickles on a couple nights, which is like 2 for 1's but better), bar trivia on Wednesday, really good food (some standard bar fare (I love their burgers, many people clamor over their wings but I'm not really a wing guy) but also several interesting entree options like curry or mixed grill shishkabobs), free popcorn, nice enough interior. Cons: a little small so it can easily get packed during the busier nights/specials (wooden nickles especially so), dirty bathroom, the location isn't the most convenient. All in all one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis. Definitely worth checking out!

Met some new fun people here today for an afternoon drink as an intro. to our new city... Our bartender was friendly but not overzealous, and had some nice suggestions on the coffee drinks when I ordered a Bailey's and coffee- "Have you ever had a Drunk Monk?" and I am glad I took his advice. The vibe is fun and casual, and I look forward to coming here again. The only reason I gave Tracy's 4 stars and not 5 is that the Oregon Pinot Noir was not available by the glass... I have a soft spot for Oregon Pinots... =D

Pretty solid for a shitty bar but it gets really busy and that's where the fun stops for me. It's often a pain in the arse to find a table and then you end up shouting at your companions or not talking at all. It's good for cheap drinks I guess, if you follow their specials, but drinking stale Miller Lite is pretty disgusting. It seems like they've tried to step up the food into a quasi-upscale thing and what I had recently (can't even recall the dish) was a little bland and bizarre. I preferred the place back when they just served decent burgers and a few other things. I like dive bars that don't get so jam-packed, I guess. The place is a Seward institution but it seems to be a destination by default because there aren't many bars nearby.

Tracy's is a simple neighborhood bar and it happens to have a few vegan options. I had their home-made veggie burger (all-American style, though there are a few other varieties) which was not bad. I liked the taste of the patty (though it was a bit soft and crumbly), but I was less impressed with the industrial-grade lettuce, tomato and white-flour bun they used. The fries were good. Tracy's also has a tempeh reuben, a mock duck curry and a tempeh hash (on the weekends). I'm not sure why they don't serve any tofu dishes (how about a fried tofu burrito, or a tofu scramble?); it's especially strange because they do have tempeh. A seitan/mock duck sandwich or burger would be great as well. Space around the bar is cramped and the beer selection isn't all that great, but I like that Tracy's is trying to hold its own against Pizza Luce and Triple Rock, which are the two nearest ultra vegan-friendly bar/restaurants. If Tracy's added a few more thoughtful and varied vegan options I'd be back often.

There seems to be a special going on at all times at Tracy's Saloon. What has been labeled as a dive bar in the past, now deserves bragging rights in regard to their food and drink prices. From what I hear everything is homemade, such as their condiments and hand-cut fries. Their juicy lucy's in my opinion are in competition with popular burger joints around town, except Tracy's wins because you can actually get a table. This is a convenient location for me, both close to work and home. My favorite special has to be the wooden nickel happy hours. It's like a punch card that rewards drunken denizens. With two wooden nickels burning a hole in my pocket, I see myself returning again in the very near future (especially since I was there twice this past weekend).

Default hangout, especially after making the rounds at other places. Tracy's is close to where I live, they have great specials, and everyone there is quite down-to-earth (if not too busy, you can actually chat w the wait staff). Their drink menu is extensive and the drinks can get pretty cheap with their specials (wooden nickels, etc), and they have a different special every day. They have a variety of foods (the mixed grill is delightful) ...and they serve full menu until some ridiculously late 1:30-ish time. I really hardly ever eat burgers, and these days, almost all of the ones I do eat are at Tracy's... so good!!

This place is a fire trap. Too many tables and not enough room to move if its busy. The chicken fingers are pretty good. DON'T use the restrooms if you don't need to, unless you need your nose hairs burned off. The smell of rotten pee will knock you down.

I heard Tracy's had a good 40 cent Tuesday wing special, so that is basically what has attracted me there. My first visit was good. My second visit totally sucked. First, the good experience: I came on a Tuesday evening when it was busy. Hopping in fact. I was lucky to get an open stool at the bar. Great wings, served piping hot. Buffalo wings are totally average, which to me means delicious. Don't get Teriyaki. They use a cheap Teriyaki sauce that's sort of sweet and gross. Now the sucky experience. My next visit was at 11:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 1). Judging from how almost totally-empty this place was so early in the day, it was a little disconcerting and raised a red flag. They don't apparently attract a lunch crowd. But I'm wanting wings, so I sit at the bar, and this is the dialog with the server: Me: I'll have a dozen buffalo, and half-dozen spicy-hot wings. Server: You can only order 10 at a time. Me: What? That must have changed. I ordered six of each last time I was here. Server: During our wing special you can do that. Me: You don't have a wing special? Server: We do, it starts at 5. Me: Oh.... So this was the second red flag. I should've just left, because their regular price wings are $9 for ten which is really a ripoff... I could just as easily go to a nice sit-down restaurant and get the same thing for $7. But I remember having good wings there, I was hungry, so I acquiesced and placed an order for 10. I must have waited for like 20-25 minutes before the wings finally showed up, and they were COLD. Well, room temperature. Obviously I didn't bother eating them. I just paid for my beer and left. The server apologized, somewhat apathetically. I said, "Yeah I'll come back when you guys are a little busier." So here's the takeaway: They shouldn't even bother being open before 5:00 on weekdays because the place is totally dead before then. So don't even bother going here before 5:00. I speculated this is what happened behind the scenes: My food order was the first one that involved frying, so it took 10-15 minutes before oil was hot enough to fry wings. Then the cook probably got frozen wings from the freezer and maybe didn't fry them long enough, so the inside of the wings was just barely warm. Another theory is perhaps even if they were cooked correctly, they might have sat 10 minutes waiting to be served because the servers were milling around socializing because they weren't busy enough to be in any sort of groove serving customers (the few including me that were there). What bar doesn't ask you if you'd like a drink when you order food? The server almost turned away after I placed my wing order when just remembered I hadn't ordered a beer. I ordered a Summit EPA and she starts pouring Summit Oatmeal Stout. She gets halfway into the pour and asks me, "Wait, did you want Oatmeal Stout?" The service is inattentive and nonchalant.

Felt like it was time for an update after having dinner at Tracy's after the Loppet this weekend. First of all, TOTCHOS. Tater tot nachos. Yum. Second of all, their menu is eclectic as heck for a bar. Open it and see everything from blue cheese-stuffed burgers (a la Lucy) to linguini and red curry with mock duck. They seem to prepare much of their food old-fashioned way. I ordered chicken strips which came house-breaded (the breading was just OK---very plain) with buffalo sauce that definitely did not taste like it came out of a bottle labeled "wing sauce." That sauce is goooood. I disliked the beer cheese soup though, which is made with Summit and Surly. I thought it would be amazing, but it was pretty gritty and beer-y (moreso than most). Third of all, specials. Tracy's has great specials, like 8-11 p.m. happy hour on Saturday nights! 1/2 price apps and 2-4-1 beers. The second beer can be redeemed at any time with your wooden nickel. Fourth of all, wings. I'll say it again: It's like stealing poultry from a baby... a baby named Tracy. Wing night is on Tuesdays. Get any flavors your heart desires for 40 cents each.

While I love the wooden nickel happy hours and the tater tots and 'Totchos' on Tracy's menu, I cannot look past their denial of a simple request. To set the scene - Me: hungover and really craving a cheeseburger and tater tots. Tracy's: serving their brunch menu for another 30 minutes. I queried our waitress about the 'Breakfast Burger' on the brunch menu, which was served with a piece of toast and a fried egg. I asked if it would be possible to hold the egg and add cheese and put the burger on one of the 200+ plus buns I could see stacked on the shelves in the open kitchen window. She responded with something along the lines of 'I kind of doubt it but let me check with the cooks.' So she heads into the kitchen and comes back and says 'No way jose.' I tell her I understand that the kitchen is sticking to their guns about the brunch menu, but I can visibly see the buns and know damn well that they have a single slice of cheese that can top some ground meat, and for that matter, brunch was ending shortly and they would have to start serving the full menu. Again, she reiterates 'Sorry.' What's the final result? Did I leave in disgust (as I should have)? No. I bit the bullet and played their game. I had to order the 'Breakfast Burger' subbing out egg and adding another piece of toast, with no tater tots and no cheese. No effing joke. Principles are principles but in this case rigidity to principles has cost Tracy's a good chunk of my respect, which they can (and will most likely) win back slowly and surely (and with wooden-nickels).

Every neighborhood needs a bar like Tracy's. Low key, laid back and cheap. It's not a place to go if you expect to be oohed and ahhed, but you will have a good time. Nice beer selection, with a focus on local, i.e. Surly. Our food was pretty good as well. I thought the wings were very good. I love the burger and a malt special for $10. The malts are great and they were very nice about splitting it up for us. I'll be back to watch a Twins game and enjoy a beer or two. Oh, and the service was outstanding. Ian you are the man.

Now I am a little bias on any place that has a wing special. It is nearly impossible for me to find fault in an establishment when I am eating good wings. One of the particularly amazing things about this wing special, is that you can get several different flavors of wings, all for one low price of .40 cents per wing. This might not seem like a HUGE deal, but usually during a promotional wing night, they offer one flavor, or a wing minimum. (This is going to sound like a contradiction, but I really don't know why anyone would get anything other than Buffalo wings. Seems like a waste of a wing.) The place is comfortable, not too loud, and the service extremely fast. It was almost like they read my mind and ordered what I wanted before I knew what I had wanted. The reason why I will return (besides the wings, did I mention the wings?) was I got to see a man fall asleep leaning on a foosball table. I got to eat onion rings that were the size of bracelets, and the ladies room smelled fantastic! (but be careful, there were no locks on the doors... I don't know what kind of party atmosphere they were trying to promote.) Pretty delicious experience.

One of the best deals in town. Went there Monday night for half price burgers. It also happened to be 'wooden nickle' happy hour after 8pm. So we got two burgers and four good beers for $20! And to top it off I've never had a bad dish there. One foodie friend of mine said the fish & chips they ate there were the best they've ever had. Check out their Cheap Date night on Fridays for $29.

Authentic, neighborhood bars. If you live in the 'burbs, they simply don't exist. If you live in the city, they are on the endangered species list. Tracy's does neighborhood dive bar well but ups the ante by having some great tap beer options and a good menu. Really enjoyed a curry/rice/chicken dish with a pint of Surly Furious. The spicy curry with the hoppy IPA was a great combo. The gal behind the counter was super friendly, experienced, and a bit of a character, all traits that lend themselves to this kind of joint.

Tracy's is a warm, unpretentious neighborhood place (I live in Uptown so that's a welcome change in attitude and ambiance). What I tasted of the California burger was delicious. I was very hungry so chewing was a luxury I could barely afford. My fella's wild boar shepherds pie was surprisingly good, gamey in a good way, and piping hot. This is not your run-of-the-mill pub food. Tracy's is worth a trip to Seward, I'd say, for above average food, the smell of fresh popcorn wafting through the place, and polite service.

Having several neighborhood hangouts within walking distance of home is something I love about living in Seward. I've got my coffeehouse (2nd Moon), my cafés (Birchwood, Seward, Clicquot Club), and a handful of good restaurants (including Pizza Luce, True Thai, the Himalayan). And then there's Tracy's. Tracy's Saloon is one of those well-worn, comfortable places where everyone is welcome. Nothing fancy, it's just a friendly place to grab a stool or sink down into a booth. My beverage of choice is beer. And on that count, Tracy's offers a nice variety, including pints of local favorites Summit and Surly. More surprising, the menu features a wide selection of well prepared sandwiches and entrees. Not gourmet, mind you, but several notches above your average bar food. Only once have I been disappointed. The meat on the last Rueben I had at Tracy's was incredibly tough. I go back and forth between the Club, the Rueben, and patty melt. Plus they offer free popcorn, a good array of specials, and tater tots. Yum. For all those reasons--did I mention its proximity to home?--Tracy's has become a favorite spot to spend an evening hanging out with neighbors and friends.

A great hole in the wall bar and eatery. it's obvious the decor and fixtures are old, sometimes there's popcorn on the floor but hey..the point of Tracy's isn't to give the customer brilliant flashy razzle tazzle art deco environment. People come for the cheap drinks and some of the best food in town. daily specials, big juicy burgers and if you like deep friend mushrooms you wont find any better in the STATE they're huge!! If you've never been try Tracy's for sure.

Tracy's has a nice beer selection, including Summit Oatmeal Stout, which can be hard to track down. Their food is hit or miss, but is generally good. I had their beer cheese soup one evening, and although it was sorta hard to swallow as a soup, it would probably be alright if you had a bunch of texas toast or chips and just used it as a dip. Way way way too thick. Their wings are tastey, and they have good drink deals. The atmosphere is generally a bit strange; random 21 year olds mixing with semi-creepy leering older men. Then, it is that part of town, where either side of Franklin seem like worlds apart. As for the service, not impressed, but again, it's a dinky bar, so I never really expected anything too terribly professional. One night I was here with 5 friends and the server charged us their gratuity for parties of 6 and over. Normally it wouldn't have been that big of deal; as long as the service is decent I always tip at least 20%. Unfortunately the service was not decent, it was kinda the worst. Needless to say, we decided to speak up about the incorrect addition of gratuity, at which point the server seemed seriously irritated. One of the places I wait at refuses to add gratuity no matter how large the party, in order to ensure that all patrons get the best service, and servers aren't able to make guaranteed tips without working hard for it. I won't say that I'm necessarily always too happy about this practice, but this girl definitely proved to me why an establishment may want to have such a policy in place. In all the staff seem pretty young and unpolished, but I'm guessing it's one of those starter jobs for people coming into the industry. The oatmeal stout makes it worth it.

A surprising classy place to eat and drink despite it's "bar-ey " appearance. The food is good, with plenty of vegetarian options,and a variety of happy hours. Pretty decent veggie burger, fries and a malt if you're craving something "All American " for less than 15$. Also a tasty vegitarian pasta and a brownie worth trying . I'd suggest ordering fries "crispy " and not expecting to get a seat right away, it's a popular place.

So my star rating hasn't changed, but that's because the service was a heck of a lot better the second time, and it's a true 4 star rather than a tot star. We came here on a tuesday night, it was pretty late about 10pm. It was still busy with the twins game still on and being wing tuesday. however there was a little table for us to sit at right at the front (lucky) and we were greeted within a couple minutes by the bartender/server. We got the totchos and water right away just in case she got busy. She came back after about 5 minutes and asked if we wanted anything else to eat and we ordered buffalo wings. The totchos came out within that 5 minutes and they were loaded with a generous amount of REAL cheese. Nothing I dislike more than that fake nacho syrup.. unless that's what i'm aiming for. We devoured the totchos and I really enjoyed the homemade salsa.. but the flavored sour cream not so much. We both gave it a chance, but I think they would've been much better with plain ol regular sour cream. No need to make everything fancy. Our wings came out pretty much as soon as we stuffed our faced full of tots and cheese. I was basically full. We got water refills a few minutes later from someone else. The wings were hot and they were a really nice size. However, There was something about the sauce that just didn't taste right. I was only able to eat about 5 of my 10 wings, mostly due to the tots and not the flavor. But i don't know... i can't quite put my finger on what it was. I let my boyfriend take the rest of mine home and have them for left overs. I'm not saying I wont give them another chance, because it is a homemade sauce.. but it wasn't my favorite flavor. The waitress/bartender brought our check over after we got a box from someone else (which I don't really mind being helped by 3 different people because the service was really fast but who gets the tip?) and we were in and out within 35 minutes. We will definitely be back at some point but try not to park next to the garbage. It almost made me puke with the grease and trash smell.

I've been hearing about Tracy's totchos forever but, let me tell you, they aren't that great. I will eat the hell out of anything even remotely nacho-like, but totchos just taste like nothing. Under-ripe tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and olives that taste like garbage do no favors for the tator tots, trust me. If I think about the fact that the cheese made the entire mess look like a 2nd grade art project, it still makes my stomach turn. One might say that the service was attentive, but I'm going to say that it was WAY too much. The minute any new person joined our group the waitress was immediately on top of them. Of course they didn't know what they wanted yet, which was met with a roll of the eyes or a "I'm-too-busy-for-your-indecisiveness" sigh. When it came time to take anyone's money for the check, she was nowhere to be found. At least the drinks were strong. A few of us ended up over at Pizza Luce afterwards, which is probably where we should have went in the first place.

I have been going to Tracy's for many years. In that time it has gone from a dive bar with some food to a quality restaurant with dive bar prices. It is the best place in the twin cities to watch Monday Night Football. Mondays have half-priced buggers and half-priced drink. These are not post-game specials, they run during the game. They have a huge variety of food; burgers, sandwiches, whole fresh fish, salads, curry, tachos, etc. It is the only place I know of where you can make a mixed group of drinkers happy. They even have a few VEGAN options. To help all, some downsides should be noted. The veggie burger is vegan, and falls apart when you pick it up. The cheese-stuffed burger will burn you when the hot filling erupts. The regular salads are good, but the side salad you get if you sub-out your fries is small and boring. The fish is served head-on, and that freaks people out. Staff turnover is constant, leading to some incidents of bad service.

I lived in Seward years ago and really like this place. Now it's new owners have stepped it up a notch. It still has tater tots which helped get the fifth star. The Surly taps are what puts Tracy's over the top. They usually have 4 Surly beers on tap. Plus, on Wednesday nights they have trivia night but more importantly, they have $3 taps! The service is great here and they usually have a game on TV.

Food is above-average quality for bar food. My boyfriend and I come here a lot as we live nearby and are totally addicted to the sauteed broccolini and the dry rub wings. The dry rub is very similar to Shorty and Wags, for those that are familiar. The broccolini is always perfectly crisp-tender and seasoned with lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. We've tried their totchos also and I didn't really care for them, but I'm not really into tater tots in the first place. Between the tots, sour cream, salsa and melted shredded cheese the dish was one big mush, whereas I prefer my nachos crunchy--texture is a big thing for me. We never seem to make it there during happy hour. The couple of times we have, the drink specials were meh. $4 Summit EPA pints and 1/2 price margaritas. I HATE Summit of any kind so I ordered a margarita...and could barely choke it down. Cheap margarita mix + cheaper tequila = acid reflux city. Don't be a cheapo like me; just pay full price for something you know you like. I'm not sure if they typically have security there; I don't think I have ever seen any, but if they don't, they really should. The last two times we've been there, there's been crackheads loitering about and harassing patrons for money both outside and inside the place. This most recently occurred this past Saturday night around 7pm, and one other time around 9pm on a weeknight--point being, these incidents weren't isolated or limited to typical late-night antics that can sometimes occur in bars. Let's face it, this is not the best neighborhood. It's not terrible, but it's not great. There is a large transient population that hangs around this 'hood. Usually that's a non-issue, but it is something to keep in mind if you're rollin' solo.

Seward has plenty of businesses I frequent, so it's only natural that I've stopped into Tracy's a few times for drinks - and have been pleased with my experiences. They have a good beer selection but also make a killer bloody mary for those Sundays when hair-o-the-dog is just what you need. While I've never tried the food yet, it seems to have options for carnivores and vegetarians alike, but it does get busy and the times I've come for dinner, it's been too packed. It seems mid-afternoon or late night works best if you don't feel like waiting for a table to open up. As for the environment itself, the place has a clean and cozy vibe without being stuffy OR overly casual. While I haven't encountered the happy hour wooden nickel promotion yet, I've heard enough about it to want to take advantage one of these days! The bar is a bit small but worth bellying up to if you're able. Bartenders are often friendly and just chatty enough.

Several wing flavors. Can't decide which one you want? Don't worry, you can split your order between two. That's what I did! Got the buffalo wings and the bbq wings. The BUFFALO wings were naked (not breaded) and doused in sauce. They reminded me a lot of the wings at Runyons in the way that frying them un-breaded made the skin a bit tougher. The BBQ wings were the same fried wings, but with a tangy sauce that dripped. For me, it would have been nice if they were grilled or maybe finished off in the oven...they were just too wet. In total there were about 10 wings which should have cost me $10.25. However, to my surprise this appetizer was 1/2 priced and so were the fries I got. The fries were good and plentiful. The were a bit salty for me (which is a rarity) but other than that I really liked them. Skinny, crisp and light! They were served with an aioli which was okay alone but even better when combined with ketchup. To wash it all down, I tried the Caribbean Cosmo which was a steal at $7.25 and they didn't skimp on the liquor. I don't typically get/like cosmos, but enjoyed this one; it wasn't strong upon first sip, but it eventually the alcohol caught up with me. That's how I like my drinks (slow and steady)! Overall, majority of their cocktails were priced really well. They have ample seating, and space in the dining area to accommodate larger groups. At the bar they have two smaller TV's, but with the bar being emptier and the volume being up...I still couldn't hear anything. Service was fine, nothing friendly or outstanding, but also nothing rude or slow. If I was in the area on an early Saturday evening or late evening, yes I'd consider returning; especially when you consider my entire meal (including drink) was only $15.88. YAY for Happy Hour!!!

SCORE! We gave Tracy's another chance a couple of days ago. They are a different place altogether service-wise. It's such a treat because their food has always been crave-worthy. They were busy and still, the moment we sat down our waiter was there to great us. He didn't rush us, just let us know that he saw us come in. Everyone who waited on us was both friendly and energetic. None of the "doing you a favor by noticing you. I hate my life. Sigh." Now that the service matches the food, no one is going to need to twist my arm to return. Tracy's has the best fries. Please try the Kirby burger. This place loves to do specials like date night deals and different burgers. Worth a peek at their website to see what's going on. The Totchos are fantastically good. Tater tots and cheese - who knew?

Tracy's is a decent bar with great bar food. I had the vegetable curry, which was delicious. The apricot chutney was fantastic, but I do think that the curry could have used a few more veggies and more rice. It was pretty much red pepper (big slices) and cilantro in a great curry sauce. Potato, cauliflower, peas, carrots - any traditional curry veggies would have been a welcome addition. I also had a cosmopolitan, which was fine - nothing to brag about. My friend ordered a Manhattan and it came out in a martini glass and had a ton of vermouth. I'd say the beer and the food is great. It's also super loud in there and the bathrooms are some of the most awkward I have been in. If you are concerned about handicap accessibility, the bathrooms are a challenge.

Tracy's is my favorite neighborhood bar of any neighborhood ever. Their happy hours are varied but consistent, and the 2 for 1 wooden nickles are genius. Their food is far better than standard bar food and they have a good selection of beer. As a bonus their free popcorn is the best bar popcorn I've had - not too salty... but salty enough. Great bar environment. Show up early on burger night, and keep an eye out for the creamy potato dill soup. AND LIKE, 3.50 BLOODIES DURING BRUNCH HOURS? YES PLEASE. I really like their bloody. It's classic, not a lot of fixings, and their olives actually are the only bad thing I've ever experienced at Tracy's, but I still order it time after time. Plus the 3.50 deal really is unbeatable. It's a tall glass, not watered down.

4 stars for the wings and the beer. 2 stars for the service. 3 stars overall. I went for happy hour today with a co-worker who raves about the wings here. They were quite good. Went with the BBQ. 9 bucks for 10 wings. Lot of meat and lot of sauce. Much better than a BW3 but not as good as D-Spot (but no beer at D-Spot). Best to go on Tuesdays for the Wings from what I understand when they are on special and have a new flavor of the week each Tuesday. The two stars on the service is no knock on the friendliness of the staff. They were just outnumbered by customers too much where they couldn't keep up. They only had one bartender and one server for the tables. I waited what felt like ten minutes to get my first beer. When my co-worker arrived he waited probably fifteen minutes for his first beer, no exaggeration. It was also a really long wait for the food to come out. Bartender was cool, though, and apologized for the delay. He recommended the Surly Wet. I had never had it before, and it is awesome! Similar to a Bell's Hopslam. Unfortunately, you can only get it in a ten ounce glass because of the high ABV on it. I will go back. They have a bunch of other stuff on the menu that I would like to try - rainbow trout, apple cured ribs and prawns with ginger noodle to name a few.

Yet another place I've been putting off all these years. My server was the bartender, John. He was so awesome. I sat at a high top by the window, for the light. He immediately directed me to half price apps, on a Saturday, sweet. I got the hummus, and it was just as good as any middle East place. It's on a bed of shredded lettuce, which I will order without, too messy. On the platter is enough other stuff for a salad, including feta cheese. I love that they have a signature beer cheese soup daily. Watch out, it's more ale than cheese, so get that designated driver. Though not a classic Irish pub, they have a shepards pie with boar. I can't wait to try that. Oh, 99 I love you.

Tracy's is everything a bar should be. It's my neighborhood spot. The staff is super friendly, there is a good selection of all varieties of booze at good prices, and the wooden nickel situation cannot be beat. There's always an interesting crowd consisting of the surrounding Riverside and Seward neighbors, plus bikers rolling through on Franklin. Tracy's is my jam!

I just went to Tracy's for the first time last week! They have a pretty legit happy hour and the service was phenomenal! I wish I remembered our bar tenders name...she rocked! Also, definitely recommend their tachos appetizer they were incredible! Will be going back soon!

I've been twice now and both times it was busy, but with places to sit. And you can hear the people you're with! I also really like all of the old Minneapolis things on the wall. There is a great panorama of old Metropolitan Stadium on one of the walls that I would like to stea-- I mean, find one of my own someday. They have a decent beer list and 1/2 price margs on Fridays. It's also nice that Seward Cafe is right across the street... you could now go between here and Seward for their late night happy hour or if you wanted a different food option over there. HOWEVER, are you a tater tot fan? Good choice. Are you a fan of nachos? Thank goodness, because the Totchos* are amazing! Seriously, get them.

Tracy's is the perfect bar for the Seward neighborhood. It's definitely old school, but they also have an excellent beer/food menu. I went on a Monday with a couple of girlfriends for this great deal they have where all the burgers are half-off from 5-midnight. We also were there for the excellent happy hour. I think it's $2 off all the appetizers, $2 Miller Lites, and $3.50 rails? Pretty good! I was tempted with the house-pickled eggs, with the happy hour, they were a buck. Next time! I got the Kirby burger...a burger with cheddar, homemade(!!!) pickles, and 1000 Island dressing. I also got the tots, which are $0.50 extra and well worth it. The burger was huge...not to mention $4.50. I think I had two of the Miller Lites, and my meal ended up being $10.50 for everything. That's insane considering the quality. My good friend lives across the street from here, so I can't wait to come back. Bonus:free popcorn!

huge fan. Thurs. wooden nickel nights & tacos. Specials, every day but that is my favorite one. Every time I have gone there it has been an awesome experience. Great tacos, awesome drink specials, foosball (even if I suck). I have not had any issues with service. Lots of bike parking and in a cute neighborhood. I really have nothing bad to say about Tracy's - never had a bad experience. I even accidentally walked out on my tab the other night and they were totally cool when I came back 20 mins later all shameful like. Go there. Great specials & cool people!

I have never had any luck getting a table here and this is my third separate visit. I am sure it is great news for the business but really awful to wait 30-45 minutes for a table that will never become available because the business has no real system to usher waiting patrons. Sorry, "just stand around and wait" doesn't work.

Good food, good beer, good prices and ok service have made Tracy's our go-to place for post-soccer nourishment. I was initially skeptical when Tracy's was suggested, as the outside of the bar intimated divey-ness, but I have since been proved wrong. Looking for a cheap snack with your beer? Can't go wrong with crispy tater tots! They have totchos too, but I found them a little bland. Looking for a protein fix? How about their mixed grill, it has well-cooked land and sea animals! Looking for an excuse to drink a lot of beer? Try the red curry, it's pretty spicy even for me and comes with crispy lentil chips! Every bit is delicious but requires multiple gulpings of booze. Haven't tried their homemade soups yet, but there's a new one for every day of the week. Like underwear, but edible. I'm aware of edible underwear but let's not go there. Most everything is cooked on the premises yet the prices are really reasonable. This makes it attractive to hipsters and foodies as well as keeping the old-timers. I'd come here more often if I lived in Seward.

Gave it two stars because this used to be our neighborhood haunt, but it's been getting fancier and fancier every year. We figured they would eventually price the old regulars out, and after they rehabbed the place this winter they finally did. Nothing on the menu under $10 bucks, and the happy hours are ridiculously short now. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Still got enough places in the neighborhood if we want cheap, and if we want to pay Tracy's prices, there are better selections too. Based on what I've seen lately, we aren't the only formerly loyal patrons who are going elsewhere.

They have an excellent Friday night date special. I think it is like $25 for two entrees and wine. Also good burger selections.

Tracy's has great "bar" food, but have also been expanding their menu the last few years. My favorite thing about Tracy's? Weekday evening happy hours. Every neighborhood needs a bar like Tracy's. Low key, laid back and cheap. It's not a place to go if you expect to be oohed and ahhed, but you will have a good time. Nice beer selection, with a focus on local, i.e. Surly. Our food was pretty good as well. I thought the wings were very good. I love the burger and a malt special for $10. The malts are great and they were very nice about splitting it up for us. I'll be back to watch a Twins game and enjoy a beer or two. Oh, and the service was outstanding. Ian you are the man.

We'll talk about the pros of this place shortly. But let's first start off with a big con. It's important to start with the Tracy's major downside. Because if you want to get the best of this place, you have to know this: the quality of the food here is not consistent. Don't worry, though. Because the good news is that it's not all chaotic. It follows a certain pattern. I've been frequenting this place since 2008 and I discovered that the quality of their food is inversely proportional to the number of people dining here. It sounds simple. But it's based on a carefully designed research method constituted of scientific experiment, measurement, sampling, and close observation. Now that I reveal the pattern, it's not simply a hypothesis. It's now officially a theory that explains the inconsistency in their food quality! I entertained different possibilities (change of cooks, change of suppliers, inconsistency of my mood, etc.) and no hypothesis other than the one I just talked about explains the problem in hand. Now, whenever I go to Tracy's I bring this chart with me. I count people sitting in there and see what quality I could expect!! Having this con in mind, here are the reasons why this place is better than your average bar: 1- The beer selection is nice. 2- The food menu is extensive and satisfies a wide range of tastes. 3- They have excellent happy hours and daily specials (my favorites are their half-priced burgers and wooden nickles.) 4- Unlike many other places, their Cajun burger is, as expected, hot! 5- Free popcorn!

Ah, Tracy's. I love this place. Pros: food and drink specials EVERY night (including wooden nickles on a couple nights, which is like 2 for 1's but better), bar trivia on Wednesday, really good food (some standard bar fare (I love their burgers, many people clamor over their wings but I'm not really a wing guy) but also several interesting entree options like curry or mixed grill shishkabobs), free popcorn, nice enough interior. Cons: a little small so it can easily get packed during the busier nights/specials (wooden nickles especially so), dirty bathroom, the location isn't the most convenient. All in all one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis. Definitely worth checking out!

Met some new fun people here today for an afternoon drink as an intro. to our new city... Our bartender was friendly but not overzealous, and had some nice suggestions on the coffee drinks when I ordered a Bailey's and coffee- "Have you ever had a Drunk Monk?" and I am glad I took his advice. The vibe is fun and casual, and I look forward to coming here again. The only reason I gave Tracy's 4 stars and not 5 is that the Oregon Pinot Noir was not available by the glass... I have a soft spot for Oregon Pinots... =D

Pretty solid for a shitty bar but it gets really busy and that's where the fun stops for me. It's often a pain in the arse to find a table and then you end up shouting at your companions or not talking at all. It's good for cheap drinks I guess, if you follow their specials, but drinking stale Miller Lite is pretty disgusting. It seems like they've tried to step up the food into a quasi-upscale thing and what I had recently (can't even recall the dish) was a little bland and bizarre. I preferred the place back when they just served decent burgers and a few other things. I like dive bars that don't get so jam-packed, I guess. The place is a Seward institution but it seems to be a destination by default because there aren't many bars nearby.

Tracy's is a simple neighborhood bar and it happens to have a few vegan options. I had their home-made veggie burger (all-American style, though there are a few other varieties) which was not bad. I liked the taste of the patty (though it was a bit soft and crumbly), but I was less impressed with the industrial-grade lettuce, tomato and white-flour bun they used. The fries were good. Tracy's also has a tempeh reuben, a mock duck curry and a tempeh hash (on the weekends). I'm not sure why they don't serve any tofu dishes (how about a fried tofu burrito, or a tofu scramble?); it's especially strange because they do have tempeh. A seitan/mock duck sandwich or burger would be great as well. Space around the bar is cramped and the beer selection isn't all that great, but I like that Tracy's is trying to hold its own against Pizza Luce and Triple Rock, which are the two nearest ultra vegan-friendly bar/restaurants. If Tracy's added a few more thoughtful and varied vegan options I'd be back often.

There seems to be a special going on at all times at Tracy's Saloon. What has been labeled as a dive bar in the past, now deserves bragging rights in regard to their food and drink prices. From what I hear everything is homemade, such as their condiments and hand-cut fries. Their juicy lucy's in my opinion are in competition with popular burger joints around town, except Tracy's wins because you can actually get a table. This is a convenient location for me, both close to work and home. My favorite special has to be the wooden nickel happy hours. It's like a punch card that rewards drunken denizens. With two wooden nickels burning a hole in my pocket, I see myself returning again in the very near future (especially since I was there twice this past weekend).

Default hangout, especially after making the rounds at other places. Tracy's is close to where I live, they have great specials, and everyone there is quite down-to-earth (if not too busy, you can actually chat w the wait staff). Their drink menu is extensive and the drinks can get pretty cheap with their specials (wooden nickels, etc), and they have a different special every day. They have a variety of foods (the mixed grill is delightful) ...and they serve full menu until some ridiculously late 1:30-ish time. I really hardly ever eat burgers, and these days, almost all of the ones I do eat are at Tracy's... so good!!

This place is a fire trap. Too many tables and not enough room to move if its busy. The chicken fingers are pretty good. DON'T use the restrooms if you don't need to, unless you need your nose hairs burned off. The smell of rotten pee will knock you down.

I heard Tracy's had a good 40 cent Tuesday wing special, so that is basically what has attracted me there. My first visit was good. My second visit totally sucked. First, the good experience: I came on a Tuesday evening when it was busy. Hopping in fact. I was lucky to get an open stool at the bar. Great wings, served piping hot. Buffalo wings are totally average, which to me means delicious. Don't get Teriyaki. They use a cheap Teriyaki sauce that's sort of sweet and gross. Now the sucky experience. My next visit was at 11:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 1). Judging from how almost totally-empty this place was so early in the day, it was a little disconcerting and raised a red flag. They don't apparently attract a lunch crowd. But I'm wanting wings, so I sit at the bar, and this is the dialog with the server: Me: I'll have a dozen buffalo, and half-dozen spicy-hot wings. Server: You can only order 10 at a time. Me: What? That must have changed. I ordered six of each last time I was here. Server: During our wing special you can do that. Me: You don't have a wing special? Server: We do, it starts at 5. Me: Oh.... So this was the second red flag. I should've just left, because their regular price wings are $9 for ten which is really a ripoff... I could just as easily go to a nice sit-down restaurant and get the same thing for $7. But I remember having good wings there, I was hungry, so I acquiesced and placed an order for 10. I must have waited for like 20-25 minutes before the wings finally showed up, and they were COLD. Well, room temperature. Obviously I didn't bother eating them. I just paid for my beer and left. The server apologized, somewhat apathetically. I said, "Yeah I'll come back when you guys are a little busier." So here's the takeaway: They shouldn't even bother being open before 5:00 on weekdays because the place is totally dead before then. So don't even bother going here before 5:00. I speculated this is what happened behind the scenes: My food order was the first one that involved frying, so it took 10-15 minutes before oil was hot enough to fry wings. Then the cook probably got frozen wings from the freezer and maybe didn't fry them long enough, so the inside of the wings was just barely warm. Another theory is perhaps even if they were cooked correctly, they might have sat 10 minutes waiting to be served because the servers were milling around socializing because they weren't busy enough to be in any sort of groove serving customers (the few including me that were there). What bar doesn't ask you if you'd like a drink when you order food? The server almost turned away after I placed my wing order when just remembered I hadn't ordered a beer. I ordered a Summit EPA and she starts pouring Summit Oatmeal Stout. She gets halfway into the pour and asks me, "Wait, did you want Oatmeal Stout?" The service is inattentive and nonchalant.

Felt like it was time for an update after having dinner at Tracy's after the Loppet this weekend. First of all, TOTCHOS. Tater tot nachos. Yum. Second of all, their menu is eclectic as heck for a bar. Open it and see everything from blue cheese-stuffed burgers (a la Lucy) to linguini and red curry with mock duck. They seem to prepare much of their food old-fashioned way. I ordered chicken strips which came house-breaded (the breading was just OK---very plain) with buffalo sauce that definitely did not taste like it came out of a bottle labeled "wing sauce." That sauce is goooood. I disliked the beer cheese soup though, which is made with Summit and Surly. I thought it would be amazing, but it was pretty gritty and beer-y (moreso than most). Third of all, specials. Tracy's has great specials, like 8-11 p.m. happy hour on Saturday nights! 1/2 price apps and 2-4-1 beers. The second beer can be redeemed at any time with your wooden nickel. Fourth of all, wings. I'll say it again: It's like stealing poultry from a baby... a baby named Tracy. Wing night is on Tuesdays. Get any flavors your heart desires for 40 cents each.

While I love the wooden nickel happy hours and the tater tots and 'Totchos' on Tracy's menu, I cannot look past their denial of a simple request. To set the scene - Me: hungover and really craving a cheeseburger and tater tots. Tracy's: serving their brunch menu for another 30 minutes. I queried our waitress about the 'Breakfast Burger' on the brunch menu, which was served with a piece of toast and a fried egg. I asked if it would be possible to hold the egg and add cheese and put the burger on one of the 200+ plus buns I could see stacked on the shelves in the open kitchen window. She responded with something along the lines of 'I kind of doubt it but let me check with the cooks.' So she heads into the kitchen and comes back and says 'No way jose.' I tell her I understand that the kitchen is sticking to their guns about the brunch menu, but I can visibly see the buns and know damn well that they have a single slice of cheese that can top some ground meat, and for that matter, brunch was ending shortly and they would have to start serving the full menu. Again, she reiterates 'Sorry.' What's the final result? Did I leave in disgust (as I should have)? No. I bit the bullet and played their game. I had to order the 'Breakfast Burger' subbing out egg and adding another piece of toast, with no tater tots and no cheese. No effing joke. Principles are principles but in this case rigidity to principles has cost Tracy's a good chunk of my respect, which they can (and will most likely) win back slowly and surely (and with wooden-nickels).

Now I am a little bias on any place that has a wing special. It is nearly impossible for me to find fault in an establishment when I am eating good wings. One of the particularly amazing things about this wing special, is that you can get several different flavors of wings, all for one low price of .40 cents per wing. This might not seem like a HUGE deal, but usually during a promotional wing night, they offer one flavor, or a wing minimum. (This is going to sound like a contradiction, but I really don't know why anyone would get anything other than Buffalo wings. Seems like a waste of a wing.) The place is comfortable, not too loud, and the service extremely fast. It was almost like they read my mind and ordered what I wanted before I knew what I had wanted. The reason why I will return (besides the wings, did I mention the wings?) was I got to see a man fall asleep leaning on a foosball table. I got to eat onion rings that were the size of bracelets, and the ladies room smelled fantastic! (but be careful, there were no locks on the doors... I don't know what kind of party atmosphere they were trying to promote.) Pretty delicious experience.

Authentic, neighborhood bars. If you live in the 'burbs, they simply don't exist. If you live in the city, they are on the endangered species list. Tracy's does neighborhood dive bar well but ups the ante by having some great tap beer options and a good menu. Really enjoyed a curry/rice/chicken dish with a pint of Surly Furious. The spicy curry with the hoppy IPA was a great combo. The gal behind the counter was super friendly, experienced, and a bit of a character, all traits that lend themselves to this kind of joint.

Tracy's is a warm, unpretentious neighborhood place (I live in Uptown so that's a welcome change in attitude and ambiance). What I tasted of the California burger was delicious. I was very hungry so chewing was a luxury I could barely afford. My fella's wild boar shepherds pie was surprisingly good, gamey in a good way, and piping hot. This is not your run-of-the-mill pub food. Tracy's is worth a trip to Seward, I'd say, for above average food, the smell of fresh popcorn wafting through the place, and polite service.

Having several neighborhood hangouts within walking distance of home is something I love about living in Seward. I've got my coffeehouse (2nd Moon), my cafés (Birchwood, Seward, Clicquot Club), and a handful of good restaurants (including Pizza Luce, True Thai, the Himalayan). And then there's Tracy's. Tracy's Saloon is one of those well-worn, comfortable places where everyone is welcome. Nothing fancy, it's just a friendly place to grab a stool or sink down into a booth. My beverage of choice is beer. And on that count, Tracy's offers a nice variety, including pints of local favorites Summit and Surly. More surprising, the menu features a wide selection of well prepared sandwiches and entrees. Not gourmet, mind you, but several notches above your average bar food. Only once have I been disappointed. The meat on the last Rueben I had at Tracy's was incredibly tough. I go back and forth between the Club, the Rueben, and patty melt. Plus they offer free popcorn, a good array of specials, and tater tots. Yum. For all those reasons--did I mention its proximity to home?--Tracy's has become a favorite spot to spend an evening hanging out with neighbors and friends.

A great hole in the wall bar and eatery. it's obvious the decor and fixtures are old, sometimes there's popcorn on the floor but hey..the point of Tracy's isn't to give the customer brilliant flashy razzle tazzle art deco environment. People come for the cheap drinks and some of the best food in town. daily specials, big juicy burgers and if you like deep friend mushrooms you wont find any better in the STATE they're huge!! If you've never been try Tracy's for sure.

Tracy's has a nice beer selection, including Summit Oatmeal Stout, which can be hard to track down. Their food is hit or miss, but is generally good. I had their beer cheese soup one evening, and although it was sorta hard to swallow as a soup, it would probably be alright if you had a bunch of texas toast or chips and just used it as a dip. Way way way too thick. Their wings are tastey, and they have good drink deals. The atmosphere is generally a bit strange; random 21 year olds mixing with semi-creepy leering older men. Then, it is that part of town, where either side of Franklin seem like worlds apart. As for the service, not impressed, but again, it's a dinky bar, so I never really expected anything too terribly professional. One night I was here with 5 friends and the server charged us their gratuity for parties of 6 and over. Normally it wouldn't have been that big of deal; as long as the service is decent I always tip at least 20%. Unfortunately the service was not decent, it was kinda the worst. Needless to say, we decided to speak up about the incorrect addition of gratuity, at which point the server seemed seriously irritated. One of the places I wait at refuses to add gratuity no matter how large the party, in order to ensure that all patrons get the best service, and servers aren't able to make guaranteed tips without working hard for it. I won't say that I'm necessarily always too happy about this practice, but this girl definitely proved to me why an establishment may want to have such a policy in place. In all the staff seem pretty young and unpolished, but I'm guessing it's one of those starter jobs for people coming into the industry. The oatmeal stout makes it worth it.

So my star rating hasn't changed, but that's because the service was a heck of a lot better the second time, and it's a true 4 star rather than a tot star. We came here on a tuesday night, it was pretty late about 10pm. It was still busy with the twins game still on and being wing tuesday. however there was a little table for us to sit at right at the front (lucky) and we were greeted within a couple minutes by the bartender/server. We got the totchos and water right away just in case she got busy. She came back after about 5 minutes and asked if we wanted anything else to eat and we ordered buffalo wings. The totchos came out within that 5 minutes and they were loaded with a generous amount of REAL cheese. Nothing I dislike more than that fake nacho syrup.. unless that's what i'm aiming for. We devoured the totchos and I really enjoyed the homemade salsa.. but the flavored sour cream not so much. We both gave it a chance, but I think they would've been much better with plain ol regular sour cream. No need to make everything fancy. Our wings came out pretty much as soon as we stuffed our faced full of tots and cheese. I was basically full. We got water refills a few minutes later from someone else. The wings were hot and they were a really nice size. However, There was something about the sauce that just didn't taste right. I was only able to eat about 5 of my 10 wings, mostly due to the tots and not the flavor. But i don't know... i can't quite put my finger on what it was. I let my boyfriend take the rest of mine home and have them for left overs. I'm not saying I wont give them another chance, because it is a homemade sauce.. but it wasn't my favorite flavor. The waitress/bartender brought our check over after we got a box from someone else (which I don't really mind being helped by 3 different people because the service was really fast but who gets the tip?) and we were in and out within 35 minutes. We will definitely be back at some point but try not to park next to the garbage. It almost made me puke with the grease and trash smell.

I've been hearing about Tracy's totchos forever but, let me tell you, they aren't that great. I will eat the hell out of anything even remotely nacho-like, but totchos just taste like nothing. Under-ripe tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and olives that taste like garbage do no favors for the tator tots, trust me. If I think about the fact that the cheese made the entire mess look like a 2nd grade art project, it still makes my stomach turn. One might say that the service was attentive, but I'm going to say that it was WAY too much. The minute any new person joined our group the waitress was immediately on top of them. Of course they didn't know what they wanted yet, which was met with a roll of the eyes or a "I'm-too-busy-for-your-indecisiveness" sigh. When it came time to take anyone's money for the check, she was nowhere to be found. At least the drinks were strong. A few of us ended up over at Pizza Luce afterwards, which is probably where we should have went in the first place.

I have been going to Tracy's for many years. In that time it has gone from a dive bar with some food to a quality restaurant with dive bar prices. It is the best place in the twin cities to watch Monday Night Football. Mondays have half-priced buggers and half-priced drink. These are not post-game specials, they run during the game. They have a huge variety of food; burgers, sandwiches, whole fresh fish, salads, curry, tachos, etc. It is the only place I know of where you can make a mixed group of drinkers happy. They even have a few VEGAN options. To help all, some downsides should be noted. The veggie burger is vegan, and falls apart when you pick it up. The cheese-stuffed burger will burn you when the hot filling erupts. The regular salads are good, but the side salad you get if you sub-out your fries is small and boring. The fish is served head-on, and that freaks people out. Staff turnover is constant, leading to some incidents of bad service.

Ok, TMI but the food has given all of my friends and me the worst gas ever! ha ha. BUT the wooden nickels are such an AWESOME fun perk. I mean it's like taking a time machine back in time. Finding a wooden nickel in your pocket is better than a couple of forgotten dollars. Try it out!

I lived in Seward years ago and really like this place. Now it's new owners have stepped it up a notch. It still has tater tots which helped get the fifth star. The Surly taps are what puts Tracy's over the top. They usually have 4 Surly beers on tap. Plus, on Wednesday nights they have trivia night but more importantly, they have $3 taps! The service is great here and they usually have a game on TV.

This is a cool neighborhood dive that was great to drop in on for a beer when I lived down the street. Even better when you bring your friends. The food, if you came for food (which isn't such a great idea with dives in general), is better than you should expect. Consider yourself lucky! Cheap beer and drinks are what this place is about!

I love Tracy's but I am biased, it is my neighborhood bar. Free popcorn! Great specials. Cool owner. Love it.

This place is alright, a bit too many English and Theater majors here some nights for my liking. The free popcorn and good (cheap) beer selection usually makes up for it. My friends love the wings there, and overall its pretty good bar food fare. Excellent place to watch a Vikings game.

Buffalo Chicken wrap with your choice of fries, waffle fries, or tater tots can't be beat. Daily specials, pinball, and a great low-key bar makes this a great place for happy hour dinner or lunch.
