Sky bites is one of my favorite places for breakfast and they're one of the only spots in the skyway that offer delicious breakfast bagels which remind me of a Beloit Bagel (throwback to my college years). The man running the store is very sweet and always has a lovely greeting when you order. This place doesn't have pork but instead offers turkey ham, turkey sausage and turkey patties as meat options. I've gotten the standard bagel with cheese and meat, but they also have an added option for veggies. Onions and peppers oh my! I love this spot and if you're a fan of chicken shawarma and falafel then sky bites is your place. Go here if you want great food and a warm inviting environment.

Very good food and owner down to all those working there are extremely friendly. I have only had lunch for Greek food which is very good and for downtown a bang for the money. Heard breakfast is solid but haven't tried it yet....soon.

The place is a hit or miss at times but their vegetarian options are consistently good. It is slightly pricey menu for a lunch but it is due to its monopoly for Greek food in Minneapolis skyways.. Ample seating and fast service though!!

Needed a breakfast sandwich before going to work. Fresh made with real eggs, quite good.

I recently tried the new Sky Bites location, right by their old spot. The restaurant is huge with tons of seating, a welcome change. I got the gyro-fries combo, and I must say I was rather underwhelmed. I felt that, despite paying about $8 for my combo, there simply wasn't much food to it. They like to say that they have the best gyros in the skyway, and while the ingredients are solid enough and they have a nice spice mixture, the 'heft' of the gyro was extremely weak-sauce. The gyro was made up mostly of veggies, with a paltry few strips of gyro meat on the bottom. There weren't even enough fries included to make up for the lack of punch from the gyro. Sky Bites seems earnest enough but the combos aren't exactly cheap and there are better gyro/Greek options in the skyway. Falafel King, Greek Grill and Trieste Cafe are not what you would call 'bargain-basement' or 'budget-conscious' lunch options, but they all provide you with a substantial amount of food so that you don't need to grab more elsewhere to fill you up. Perhaps for some people Sky Bites provides enough food. But if I'm looking for a hearty gyro, I'm heading to one of the previously mentioned places instead because they pour on the meat and aren't shy about it. I want to like you, Sky Bites, but the value just isn't there; I have a big appetite and also don't want to spend $10+ on skyway lunch.

The food is average. It would be better if customer service was better. Also the sauce on the falafel is a yogurt sauce that is not appealing and if you ask for them to hold the sauce it never happens. I only go here if no other option is available that day. Greek grill in city centre costs more and takes longer it if able worth the extra money and wait.

Great little lunch place. I've been getting their gyros every now and again for the past few years but today finally tried their salad bar. For $7-something I got the large option and filled it to the brim with delicious, healthy food. They have a lovely variety of greens, veggies, meat, cheeses, nuts, & dressings. Everything looks & tastes fresh. I'll definitely be stopping by more often.

I went back to Sky Bites a week after my first visit and I was very happy with my experience. The staff have really made great strides. The food was fantastic and the price is great as well. The service was quick and as always the employees are super friendly. Give it a try! This place is definitely a favorite for lunch in downtown.

Horrendous service, great dessert. I waited for 40 minutes for my food (lots of people that arrived after me got their food first). I got so frustrated that I asked for my money back and left. First time I've ever done that! But I had picked up a dessert when I initially ordered - and it was terrific. Anyway, these guys are incredibly disorganized and messed up at least 5 orders while I was standing there (people kept coming back and telling them their orders were wrong). In spite of the dessert, I seriously doubt I'll waste my time going back there.

What's in a name? That which we call Sky Bites by another name would taste as sweet... If you're thinking about eating at Sky Bites, just do it. If you've never heard of it, go educate yourself and eat there. If you have passed by it in the skyway and thought, "Sky Bites?", you're halfway there, buddy... Just finish that thought: "Sky Bites? Get at me!" It has been rightly dubbed "The Heart of Minneapolis". This place will change your life in every possible way. Are you having doubts about your career? Go to Sky Bites. Marital problems? Sky Bites. Upset about how the football season has progressed? Sky Bites. Just go there, and try to think of a problem that this haven can't solve. I would go into a detailed description of the food, but it truly must be experienced to fully grasp the reality of taste explosion it provides. Is this the only place that you can go to eat a falafel sandwich, carrot cake, and listen to tasty selections such as The Killers, Maroon 5, Green Day, or John Mayer? No. Is it the best place go to eat a falafel sandwich, carrot cake, and listen to tasty selections such as The Killers, Maroon 5, Green Day, or John Mayer? ABSOLUTELY. Let me take you on a little journey to Sky Bites: You're famished. Life seems mundane, and lately you have begun questioning if everything you've done was wrong and you have made all the wrong life choices. The world seems cold, lonely, and cruel. Suddenly, a beacon of pure glistening wonder emerges like a dew-kissed rose in the desert: Sky Bites. From the moment you enter that doorway and stroll down the museum-like display of food options hanging on the wall in beautiful 18 x 24 inch frames, your soul will be soaring, your tastebuds will dance with sensual delight, and your heart will swell. A word of caution: Forever following your first visit, you will wake up soaked in a cold sweat in the middle of the night. The darkness will surround your trembling body, and you will reach out into the endless abyss of the evening and be unable to do anything more than proclaim, "Sky Bites!" If you've gotten to this portion of the review, you're obviously not paying attention: You should have already gone to Sky Bites.

This place has some promise. I decided to try it after seeing an honorable mention in today's Taste section listing notable lunch places in the skyway, admittedly in this case for their cheap salad bar, not necessarily anything else. I got the shawirma and rice and added a beef samosa to try. I thought the samosa was very tasty but I'm not sure what to think about the shawirma. In my (perhaps limited) experience, shawirma is rotisserie meat, more or less like a gyro with tahini sauce on it rather than tzadziki. This shawirma was stewed meat, unfortunately with a high proportion of gristle (as in, don't bother chewing a lot because you're not gonna make much progress anyway). Maybe that's a more authentic preparation for shawirma... dunno. It tasted okay but I wouldn't order it again. But I'd go back for the pleasantly flavorful samosas and there were a number of other things on the menu I wanted to try. The staff was very friendly so I hope they are successful.
