The service is very slow. It states, "dine in or take out" but an employee told me it isn't for dine in (despite the dine in area). A woman in the evening harasses, literally harasses, you until you give a tip for take out or dine in - the service is so slow & inconsistent (meals rarely contain the same amount of food) that they don't deserve one but she is extremely persistent. If she thinks you won't give a tip, she charges extra tax than what's legal or charges you for things that they don't traditionally charge for. I think she is pocketing the extra amount she charges for. The owner is never there. If I could give zero stars for the rating, I would.

As far as boring, Americanized Chinese food goes, this place is solid. Despite the name, it more closely resembles the Chinese cuisine of cheap, open-on-Christmas-type places. Nothing overly spicy or complex, but also not beyond the boundaries of comfort for 99% of all people. The best part about this place? Friendly counter service and a great price for almost every dish. We got 2 meals for 2 out of 20 bucks (and we eat a lot). The main drawback? The place smelled like an overly smokey wok on the stove for seasoning. This place needs ventilation, and bad. That said, given its proximity (walking distance!) from my house, I'm sure I'll be back for more sweet and sour chicken. Pretty damn good, y'all!

The sign outside says "dine in or take out", but I don't think I have ever seen anyone in the dining room. Nor do I think I would ever take them up on that offer. That being said, it's painfully obvious that you come here for the food and not for the ambiance. There are Christmas ornaments in the corner in the middle of June, and a diabetes walk pamphlet on the ledge is dated from 2009. These things completely endear this restaurant to me and only makes me love it more. Standing waiting for your food you hear the clanging of pots and pans in the back through the thin wall, and their take out is ready lightning fast. The fried rice is dark carmel-y brown and looks luscious; it's simply rice and egg and I like that. The hand wrapped egg rolls are yummy, but standard rolls. But this what won my heart and belly: take out sweet and sour pork. LOVE the battered, succulent pork bits, crunchy veggies. So good!!!! So standard - comes with the token red S&S sour sauce - but get this... On the side. You pour it on yourself at home so the light and crispy batter on your pork doesn't get soggy on your drive home!!! Genius!! Such an elegant solution. Plus, I love that they know what's up in the pork-to-veggie ratio of things - while the veggies are fresh and delicious, but they aren't why I day dream about eating there again. It seems like it's pretty standard Chineese fare, but it's good, and it's cheap. Combo meal of Sweet and Sour pork, egg roll and friend rice: $6.95 Thumbs up!

I eat lunch here about twice a month. The lunch specials are reasonable most under $7. Service is quite rapid, usually about a 5-7 minute wait time. The Garlic Chicken is quite tasty and I would also recommend the Chicken Almond Ding. The wonton soup is quite good and different than the standard fare. I ate there recently and noticed they were remodelling and painting the restaurant. Give it a go.

Mehh..egg rolls were a disappointment and the sweet and sour chicken was just like every other average chinese restaurant. Will go back one more time to try something else and see if they can redeem themselves.

We live 6 blocks away and will not eat here. Not very good food.

Order lo mein and Vietnamese egg rolls and it was really good! Prices were reasonable; will definitely go back again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
