Seven is a huge ultralounge downtown. It has about 4 stories including the rooftop bar. We spent the majority of our time on the rooftop bar people watching and enjoying the music. The atmosphere was awesome...plenty of bars so there was never a large line, beautiful people ready to mingle, and projections screens pumpin music videos. The inside lounge looked very nice and the Sushi looked delicious. The decor was very modern and the lighting was key in setting a great mood for the entire lounge. The staff was nice and just wanted to do whatever made you happy. One kid dropped a drink and they were more than happy to replace it for him. I would definitely go back...I would love to get bottle service next time I am there. Highly recommend. Suit Up!

we go to nice bars/lounges a lot. although the setting is pretty, the whole roped off/reserved thing is pretty odd. anyway, sat down on a little concrete bench, very pleasant atmosphere/view, but no one came to take our drink order. this was at 7ish very light traffic at that hour. then when we ordered, the very small martini came in a plastic glass. i suspect it must be that way due to roof top regs. but not so stylish. still liked it, need to work on making people feel more welcome and increasing size of drinks.

Horrible service for what could be a very nice place. I waited 20 minutes before leaving without a waiter/waitress come to my table. After carefully pondering the situation I think it boils down to one thing: this place suffers of an acute case of arrogance. Let me try to make an argument about this: Seven has nice décor and great roof top terrace; take these two add nice summer weather and you have a substantial influx of customers. Make them wait 20 minutes to get a drink order... and you have one of those places that will give way to a better-run restaurant. I tried giving them feedback but they didn't seem very interested. I finally left wishing they would spend some time learning how to improve their service. I wish I could comment on the food, unfortunately I didn't have the patience to wait more than 20 minutes un-attended... Conclusion: If you want to enjoy the last few days of nice weather at a terrace bar, and you are looking for some level of service and need some food, Seven is not for you. You'll be better off going to Brits or Solera. Now, if you can enjoy a service-less evening and you ate a late lunch, you might as well check this place out, you'll definitely enjoy Seven's look.

This sushi bar and ultra lounge opened its doors during winter 2008. Too bad there are kinks to be ironed out before I can give it five stars. A group of my six girlfriends and I wanted to try 7 for a birthday sushi dinner on a Saturday night. Upon entering off of 7th and Hennepin, we were advised to meet the host upstairs. There was no host stand or host-looking person upstairs. We finally communicated to a worker that we had a reservation. There was some reservation confusion and we finally got seated. Once seated I took in the decor. 7 does have a hip, trendy atmosphere. The sushi and presentation are awesome! However, here are the odd findings: I found it very odd that this place has been open for nearly two months and they don't offer a specialty drink menu. Our server told this straight up "they're working on it." Seriously, someone needs to take 45 minutes and type up the specialty drinks. Specialty drinks are important to the theme and success of the lounge. They are creations of the bar staff-- sort of hat-tipping suggestions to get drunk off our amazing creations. Not providing a specialty drink menu at a high-end chic lounge is an insult to the patrons-- not drafting a specialty drink menu is way lame. Our server said, "but we have a full bar..." Well, guess what- places like Grandma's Saloon at "7" corners or Bunkers on Washington also have full bars. Wow, 7 way to set yourself apart. Honestly, I don't know how our server got hired. She didn't take one of the guests orders, she was very delayed in bringing one of the guests beers. One of the orders was brought to the table 5 minutes after everyone else got to pig out on their winter rolls and white tuna. Once done with dinner we made our way into the lounge for dancing and heavy alcohol consumption. This part deux of our 7 experience was a blast as we forgot about the awkward moments from our meal. I am very interested in going back and re-reviewing 7. Special warning to world: this place has plenty of silicon-infused plastic people. However, the food and music trump the annoying fakeness of some of the patrons. Also, lounge temperature was freezing cold like the personalities of some of the plastic-people. Lastly, ladies' restroom sewer smell needs attention as well.

the atmosphere its very upbeat and vibrant. they decorate it well, they keep it professional. they have okay service , i made reservations for a month so we got our table right away , we waited 35 mins for sushi & the appitizers, i highly recommend the bake mussels it is divine. its soft & tender, and is packed with lots of flavor. the sauce is very creamy, and it surprises you with the caviar . for the sushi , i really liked the firecracker roll its warm and soft . i really liked the summer roll. i also ordered the drunken monkey, summer roll and seven delight. the summer roll had a nice kick to it with that sweet and spicy sauce and mango combined, and i thought it had a nice clean cut taste. the drunken monkey , had nice flavor but i feel like its missing the rice part, it not full filling. the seven delight, its very sweet you can really taste the strawberries. it has a unique flavor. we also ordered nigiri , and i loved the eel its very soft & delegate, it melts in your mouth and i also liked the octopus nigiri it was fresh & sweet. also , i highly recommend the pomagranate mojito. its delicious ! over all , my seven sushi experiance was good . :)

Dined at Seven on the Saturday of a double-header Garth Brooks concert. These guys busted ass with a packed house. And the Filet was done to perfection. Hell, the baked potatoe alone could've fed a small nation. Great job to the wait staff and host staff.

We walked by this place after the Twins game and they said Free drink with Twins ticket on upstairs Roof bar! We thought why not! So we headed up and enjoy a well or domestic drink for free! So we all got some brews (tipped well) and enjoy the beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon on the roof! We stayed up here for about 45 minutes relaxing and enjoying our free drinks!

I came here on a Saturday night with a group of 18 people for dinner in the sushi lounge (2nd floor). Although the atmosphere was swanky and it was fun to dress up, the service was extremely slow and the prices were really steep for the quality of food. We ended up sitting there for a total of 3 hours, 40 minutes of which consisted of us waiting for our checks so that we could leave. They also forgot to bring one of my friend's meal to him and then took a while for them to remediate this. Although they did bring us 4 complimentary desserts to make amends for this (which was nice), since it was split among 18 people, it felt a bit like we were on Survivor where we had to all scavenge for tiny bites. I think it'd be fun to come again to check out the roof top bar, but I doubt I'd ever come again for dinner.

Excellent service! The 7 has an upbeat yet classy vibe that very few restaurants can pull off. Our food came out a bit slow, but our waiter was attendant and warned us ahead of time that the kitchen was behind. The Shrimp appetizer was unbelievable, and my steak was well prepared, but nothing to brag about.

I'll keep it simple. Went with a party, party got their food, party finished their food, I finally got my food. They kept saying it's coming it's coming and never did until b like 30 min after the rest of my party finished eating. Gets an extra star because I got a free drink and the steak was decent.

Great atmosphere sadly brought way down by really terrible service. Sitting here right now and haven't seen our waitress for 40 minutes. The menu is nice and in summer the rooftop is very cool but the service has gone way down hill which really ruins the experience. Not returning anytime soon.,,

Our son was doing a show next door so we wanted somewhere to get a nice dinner for Valentine's Day plus close enough to get back for his second show of the day. We made a reservation but a glitch had it for the day before. The manager figured something out right away and was super nice! The food is phenomenal! Such a special treat for all of us. Our son (11) will try just about anything so he was in heaven - especially with the Bananas Foster for dessert.

Don't waist your time. REALLY DONT. All 3 steaks came out cooked past the point of shoe leather. The lamb was charcoal on the plate. The second time the food came out it was like it never touched the flame. We were told that the lamb might not come back out because it is frozen..Yes I said frozen. 5 out of 7 of us ended up not having an entrée and this was all after 3 hours of wait.

This is my first review on this profile as Yelp can't find my other one. I was surprised to read some of these latest reviews so I thought I would simply give my review. I moved back from Mexico last November and Seven has become my downtown go to. I think their happy hour is a really good gig for those working downtown and looking to entertain their clients as I do. My wife and I went for NYE dinner there and again were not disappointed If you go get the firecraker anything and you won't be disappointed. The decor is very Vegas feel and that rooftop bar is super cool. Actually it was super warm. In all honesty, the night we were there it may have been the warmest place there because of all the people coming in and out for NYE. When you go tell them Big Marty sent you. It won't mean anything but it will sound cool. I think it is funny to read reviews from people like Ali. She talks about white privilege but gives the Wedge 4 stars. No oozing white privilege there at all. She may be funny, but I think likes to see her name on anything after she was kicked out of writing school. PS...this doesn't count as being published. Anyway, please don't take my word for it, or Ali's. Go down there and see. Later all!

Great sushi and drinks but the main course was a disaster. Took 2 hours to come out, steak was over cooked and then sent back out undercooked. The server told us they could thaw the lrack of lamb so she brought our guest a sea bass. Needless to say we didn't pay for anything...

Late night birthday dinner on a Saturday night. Had a Cesar salad and sushi! Sushi was good. Ate downstairs so it was more intimate. Considering right upstairs was the lounge with party goers and load music, it was still considerably quiet. After dinner we went upstairs to check out the other levels. Lots of people, good music. The rooftop was also opened. Stayed up there for a short time because it was cold, but overall it seems like a great hangout place too.

Everything at the 7 was excellent. The appetizers of crab cake and eafood tower was delicious. We had a group of 18 and the service was spot on. They were engaging and provided tje right level of service. And the Fillet was the best I have ever had. I will be back.

Holy crap. Would love to review this place in full but we need to talk about the edamame and miso soup. Edamame: Frozen and poorly cooked, which even the waitress admitted. Miso: Calling it lukewarm would be offensive to the term lukewarm. We left after that. Hope the main courses are better but my god ... If you can't do those staples right, don't have a sushi menu. Sincerely, Whoever the fuck I am to say anything

I just had one of the most amazing meals here at Seven Steakhouse ... I wanna thank Erika for the absolute best service I've had in ages . Traveling like I do all over the world, eating wherever, whenever it's so nice when your server greets you with a nice warm smile and assures you she there to make sure that you don't want for anything . Erika was so on point, before I needed anything it was there ... Great food, great service, what more can you ask for..... Stop by Seven and tell miss Erika I told you to ask for her, you won't be disappointed .... Ellis White

My wife and I decided to dine here for our anniversary and were very pleased. The steakhouse has an old school but not outdated look to it and has very private and comfortable booths. Our server Erika was fantastic. Not only was she attentive but very good at giving suggestions without being pushy. Her first suggestion was the Firecracker Shrimp as an appetizer. They were phenomenal because it was just enough heat to not overpower the shrimp or the lovely sauce. I would recommend this dish to anyone dining at Seven. We knew we wanted to have dessert so we skipped sides and just shared the Houston Salad. The bacon as well as the honey mustard dressing was very good but the rest was just a salad. It was good but nothing great. Erika explained to us that the steaks at Seven are better than prime because they are 1881 steaks which are only the top 2% of cuts. They are also wet aged instead of dry aged like most steakhouse. You can tell the difference that is for sure. I had the bone-in rib eye which is my go to. It was one of the best steaks I have ever tasted because it was tender and lightly seasoned. The meat spoke for itself. My wife on the other hand had her filet "Seven Style" which is a steak with honey bourbon glaze and lump crab on the top. If you're into sauces this is the way to go and there was a very good amount of crab to top it off. The desert menu is limited but our brownie sundae was delicious. It was perfectly warm with a very creamy vanilla bean ice cream on the top. The hot fudge and caramel dipping sauces seemed homemade and very good at that. My only complaint was the lack of what I would consider "steakhouse" drinks. The only mixed drinks on the menu were martinis. It would have been nice to see an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or Moscow Mule on the menu. If they had some drinks like these I would have given Seven a full five stars. It was the only drawback for me.

My boyfriend and I went here tonight for our year + month anniversary and had a wonderful time! Our steaks (we both ordered the Manhattan which is a great cut of steak for a good price) was cooked just as ordered! For our sides we got the broccolini - which was very bland. Also, the lobster/potato/bacon dish (can't remember the name) - which had a surprising amount of lobster in it and tons of flavor. Highly recommend! Our server Erika was very knowledgable and friendly. She didn't rush us at all even though our reservation was at 9:15pm and we were some of the last customers on the steakhouse side. Next time we come we will definitely ask to be in her section.

Unbelievably good! Incredible steaks. Have a nice wine list. Service was unbelievable. It was a Sunday night so they were not busy until the Detroit Tigers baseball team came in, so we got very special attention and who can argue with that.

Came here for my cousin's birthday and had a really solid experience. There was a large group of us, most of us ordered dinner (note, if you eat dinner at SEVEN, they validate your valet - otherwise it's $10). Our server Patrick made everyone feel welcome as they arrived and was incredibly attentive to filling our drinks and food was delish. We slowly moved over to bottle service and Patrick followed us there. He was a whiz at making drinks and made it a really fun experience (he was incredibly patient taking all of our photos on like 8 different phones/cameras). I am not giving it a 5-star review because I really don't like restroom attendants AND the crowd/music can be hit or miss.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and my husband decided to splurge at Seven Steakhouse. The experience left a lot to be desired beginning with lukewarm French onion soup. The filet mignon was overdone and the ribeye was cooked as ordered. Hash browns and cream corn were great. Had Comped dessert and glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Service was inattentive...had to track him down to get soup problem solved and he didn't remove wine list until entrees arrived even though we ordered a bottle of wine before getting any food. He did, however, remember our anniversary. When he packed up my leftover ribeye he included all the fat and gristle I had trimmed off. If that's what he's trained to do they should be trained to ask what guest wants included. Overall didn't meet expectations especially considering prices. BTW takeout grocery size bag with no branding is missed opportunity.

ULTRALOUNGE. Doesn't that just sound hip and swank? Love the location since its very central to downtown. Also love that part of the lounge is open air rooftop. Drink prices are a bit steep for Minneapolis, but on par with SF or NY. Service was a bit pompous and inconsistent depending on waiter / bartender. Food options are fantastic since they serve both surf and turf (steakhouse and sushi). One of the better 'fusion' joints in Minneapolis, albeit prices are steep. PROTIP: Come here for happy hour to get your money's worth.

The best part of this restaurant is the entrance and the red light ambience. Service: What service? I guess you are one step away from the soup Nazi on 'Seinfeld'. Drinks: Well when they finally arrived they tasted like something a Mormon would make the first time they were around alcohol. Food: Comparable to the pre-packaged sushi you'd find in an Oklahoma gas station. Picture tasting melting plastic. Temperature: Did somebody leave a window open? Sure it's MN but I should have to wear a blanket over my 'Dawson's Creek' layered look from the 90's! Price: Similar to sitting at a strip club "Making it Rain" all night only to wake up the next morning next to three overweight hairy truckers missing a kidney. In other words #Overpriced Finally: I would strongly advise against falling victim to this wannabe trendy Downtown 'Hotspot'. Anyone that has rated this restaurant over three stars was most likely between the ages of 14-23 or the second best restaurant they have enjoyed was the Olive Garden. "Without poor experiences you could never have the great ones."

I went here after seeing a show, the sushi was very good and our sever Jenn was really great. The servers are attentive but the hostess did look me up and down when I walked in and wouldn't let me walk to the group I was meeting alone, I was wearing jeans. All in all the atmosphere is upscale and the outdoor area is a must see, however the price of your drinks and food can add up extremely quickly.

Seven is a Sushi and Steakhouse. It's 2 stories high with a rooftop bar. I'm not a huge fan of this place but its tolerable. i've been to Seven a handful of times for many occasions...both for nightlife and dinner. Dinner: Sushi is located on the 2nd floor. You can reserve tables and lounge areas for large parties. many people like to host their birthday here from what ive gathered. the steakhouse is located on the 1st floor. their steak is decent. i would say comparable to wildfire in EP. They actually present the steak to you raw so you can see it in its raw form. the sushi is okay. i would recommend going to Seven for steak instead. Setting and Atmosphere: dim lighting. white table cloth. lounge chairs and a bar on each floor. they play hip ho every night. it gets pretty crowded and the dress code seems to be very "open minded" they have go-go dancers who look like they just graduated from high school. (my expectations are too high.) Price: Cocktail drinks are over $10 bucks typically and food prices are similar to any steak house. however the sushi prices are too high for the quality they are serving

Shockingly bad. We actually had to leave after just the Miso soup (cold) and edamame (frozen then microwaved). Our waitress was slow and unresponsive and the food was overpriced. Really - don't waste your money. Just don't. Only redeeming quality was the African hostess was sweet, accommodating and beautiful.

I like Seven! The sushi wasn't anything particularly special, and was expensive, although the fish was super fresh so they have that going for them. Drinks were awesome! I had a flirtini (eyeroll name, I know, but delicious!) and it was strong enough that I don't remember what the name of my second drink was (!) but both were not that expensive, delicious and stroooong. I also tried a bite of my friend's seafood pasta and ended up finishing the dish for her - it was amaaazing. Layers of flavor, super fresh and delicious seafood - I will be going back there again just to eat that pasta. So good. Service was good, too, although a little stuffy, and I found it annoying that there was a bathroom attendant so I had to feel guilty when not bringing my wallet to the bathroom since someone was handing me a paper towel rather than letting me grab one myself. I guess that's just the way it works in some downtown spots, though. Not a big deal. Go for the drinks and the pasta, skip the sushi. And don't forget your wallet when you head to pee!

Made reservations to Seven for 5:15pm weeks in advance for dinner before a 7:00pm concert at Target Center. Told the hostess when we were seated what our plans were and they said no problem. Told the waiter when he stopped by what our plans were as well and he said no problem. Ordered an appetizer and our meal almost as soon as we sat down (5:30)-- firecracker shrimp appetizer, "Seven special" steak, and a prawn risotto. It took 30 minutes to get the appetizer. It wasn't very remarkable. Not bad, but small shrimp and the seasoning wasn't exactly what I would call "firecracker". It's now 6:00pm. Would you like another drink? Sure. We don't actually have tap beer on the second level, but I can walk down to the bar and get it for you, will only take 10 or 15 minutes. What? OK, bottle is fine. 6:15. 6:30. Drinks come. Hey, we need to leave in about 20 minutes for our show, remember? Yes, sorry -- kitchen is running a bit behind. 6:45. Hey, we actually need to leave now. Don't worry, food will be here soon. 6:50. We are putting on our coats, we need to leave. Oh wait! 6:50 and our meal is arriving. Do you want to have your dinner or do you want us to turn it away and we'll comp your drinks? Umm.. so basically you are asking if we want to pay for everything or not? OK, my spouse is really hungry and the show will be 2+ hours long, we better eat fast. Oh wait! My "Seven Special" steak ($60) doesn't have any of the stuff that supposedly makes it the special -- lump crab meat, brown butter sauce, seasoning -- it's just plain. "Prawn" risotto would be a strech of the imaginition. These were medium size (not even jumbo) shrimp on a bed of what looked to be white rice. I'd be curious to see what their seafood supplier says they are selling them, because prawns these were not. Overhear the couple next to us having the same issue -- they need to leave for a show and they have been waiting an hour and a half and no dinner. I tell the waiter that my steak isn't correct and he sighs and agrees. I'll go get the manager. Manager comes back, says he will comp the steak and asks if he can bring the seasoning and the crab meat in a dish to me. What? A $60 steak and I need to make it myself at my table? No. Just comp it please and I'll eat it. We pay our $120 bill for one dinner, appetizer and drinks, and run to the show as fast as we can to still be 5 minutes late. First time here and will probably be our last. There are too many fabulous other places to go that I know are good already. I'm sure this just a bad night and not the trend, but you know what they say about first impressions.

This steak is incredible. I'm surprised to find it only had 3 stars, but this might be for the sushi, which I haven't had here. The place is definitely a 5 star steakhouse though. They have a 7 at 7 menu, which I think is just during the week which some great deals on meats...otherwise you're looking at your typical $40-$50 steak at a fancy steakhouse. However, their 1881 Omaha Seven Filet topped with crab meat may be the best steak you've ever tasted. I've heard they play classical music to their cows and whether or not this is why the meat tastes so good, they're doing something right.

We were here on August 2 prior to Paul McCartney....WORST dining (or lack there of) experience anywhere, EVER. We arrived at 6. Long story short, we left at 750 with empty stomachs. We were not the only ones that left without being fed. I was actually wondering if they even had a chef. Honestly can't understand how the place stays open. Did I mention it was my birthday? Not even worthy of 1 star.

Was here for an event on the rooftop two years ago and was impressed with the design and feel of this place. Finally found time to dine here. With two of our favorite places a couple blocks away, we often gravitate to what we know and love. Boy do we wish we had avoided this place. The greeting was at best average. Compared to the friendly glow we receive from the other upscale restaurants in the city, this part of the experience needs much improvement. The setting is very nice. Staff was good at their job but we had the feeling we were in their way. The sever was excellent. Suggested some favorites. We ordered steak. One streak was not prepared properly. Medium rare is not Minnesota medium rare. This is a good rule of thumb for a streak being ordered at Denny's but not at a upscale steak house. A few blocks away at Ruth Chris and Oceanaire they get it right every time. When I was asked how my steak was prepared, I said it was not how I prefer, but I will eat it. I do not send food back. You get it right the first time or you don't. I have heard too many stories about at some restaurants how they spit on food, etc if you send it back. Not saying they would behave like this at Seven The Steakhouse, but I will not take a chance. So if you believe that it is the patron's fault if they do not send it back, you are WRONG. It is your fault it was sent out of the kitchen poorly prepared. Parking is on the side street or ramp. Area is safe at night be darkness, after that, it gets a bit sketchy. A situation where the food did not live up to the awesome environment. With so many restaurant choices, this will not be one of them.

Most delicious steak I've ever had! I got the 1881 Filet Mignon with the honey bourbon sauce and it literally melted in my mouth. My mouth is watering now just thinking about it. I've been to some top of the line steak houses before, but nothing has come close to Seven. Not only is the steak amazing, but before you order the waiter comes out with all the different cuts of beef on a cart and explains each one. The waiter also told us that they only use the top of the line cattle and that they are massaged and played classical music. If this is really true, every cow should be treated like this! I've also tried some non-beef items including the scallops and the seafood pasta. All very delicious. Definitely recommend, but it is pricey so be prepared.

Thought this place would be good for Sushi given the ratings..... Being from LA I thought we would have some sushi. I made reservations to sit at the sushi bar. This is not really a Sushi Bar because you don't really interact with the Sushi Chefs, you order from the waitress and they bring it to you. Sushi was OK. They did not deliver one order, but promptly brought it when we told the waitress. I have been to the Steakhouse here, go there!

I usually only go here for bottle service and that's 4-star service all the time. I just wish they did a better job of keeping the people who aren't getting bottle service away from me and my entourage. If I wanted to hang out people besides my friends I would just go downstairs to the bar. Food is also pretty good.

Really amazing steak! A group of 10 of us were in Minneapolis for work and we visited 7 Steak on our last night. It sounded odd to me that they served steak and sushi. In my opinion I usually have the best experience when a restaurant does one thing and does it really well. I can't speak for the sushi since everyone was in the mood for steak, but everything we ate was amazing. Being originally from Texas, I've eaten some top notch steak (We're talking (insert name of wagu-type beef that starts with A) wet aged for 30 days, etc.) so when the server told us they get the top 2% of the best meat in the country, my thought was, "bring it!" We started with the crab cake, calamari, truffle fries and mussels for appetizers. All were good, but the crab cake was pretty exceptional. When the glorious meat cart was brought over, a few people in our group got really excited. i think one of them might have actually shed a tear of happiness. I decided on the bone-in filet, which is my favorite cut, and very hard to find on a menu. It was super tender but super flavorful. The sides are presented "family style" and everything we chose--Brussels sprouts with pancetta, truffle fries, cheesy gnocchi, truffle Mac and cheese, loaded mash potatoes--was really delicious. We had one vegan in the group who was pretty disgusted by the rolling cart of meat, but even he was able to find something tasty on the menu. I found it really helpful to have a wine expert among the group to handle the the dilemma of what to drink. The wine he chose was amazing--until the second bottle came around. It was corked. The server had a hard time believing it, and somewhat reluctantly took back all the glasses he had just finished pouring. But, once he smelled it, he completely agreed and sent out 2 additional bottles at no charge. The entire experience was really great. The staff knew how to smoothly accommodate a large group. I think this might be the new go-to restaurant when we're in town for business.

This place is amazing! Every item on their menu is prepared with the highest quality ingredients. The steaks and seafood entrees are some of the best I've tasted. The Banana's Foster is a must for dessert. The roof top is a great place to relax and enjoy the evening.

This makes me so sad but after our last few visits to Seven, I had to update my review. In the past, we have been happy to pay for overpriced sushi and drinks for the ambiance and their killer chocolate cake. The customer service has gotten so terrible we won't be back. We love the rooftop, the lounge and the dining area. Their happy hour is fantastic. Their staff sucks. Our last rooftop experience was painful. We were seated on a deep sofa with a table that was barely reachable from our position. Like, I literally had to stand up and lean to reach my food. For some reason, our waitress thought that it was acceptable to serve us our food and speak to us only while standing behind us. Apparently she was too busy to walk around the sofa to do her job. She did, however, have the time to talk to a group of staff that had congregated about 30 feet away. I felt like thy were trying to make me mad and camera men were going to pop out from around the corners. It didn't happen. Our last two lounge experiences were painful. It literally took an hour to put an order in and 45 minutes to get the bill and pay for it. The food is always good but I can get good overpriced sushi at a handful of places in town without having to deal with a terrible staff.

Went there for a friend's bday gig recently and thought it was a decent place. How often do you ever come across a joint that serves both sushi AND steak in one place? For me, it's definitely an uncommon sight. With that being said, I ended up ordering sushi's for appetizers and a pasta dish for an entree. Word of advice: DON'T order the salmon roll. Call me spoiled, but after eating at amazing sushi joints in SF, I've come to have a pretty high expectation for what I want to see and taste in my rolls. In comparison with any of the sushi's I've had in life, the size of the salmon roll at Seven is like a snortshot. It's so puny that I could probably make running jokes out of it without fail. In fact, just the sight of it cracked me up to the point where I bursted out laughing for a good minute when it was delivered. The sad part is that it's the same price as the spicy salmon roll, which was made at an appropriate proportion and tasted SO much better. As for the pasta, I got the seafood linguini and THAT was definitely well worth the visit to the place. I'd highly recommend that dish for anyone who wants to eat there.

My review is a bit biased. My husband and I live downtown and frequent it's venues. David Koch has created and amazing venue here with excellent service. When we order food, we get the winter roll, crunchy roll, Seven roll and spicy tuna. I've never been disappointed in the sushi selection and the bar tenders on both the steak house level and sushi level are top notch. Saturday nights, this place tends to warp into a club environment, so if you're looking for a romantic dinner, sit downstairs in the steak house or finish up before 10 pm if you're upstairs. Summer time. Seven is the best rooftop in Minneapolis.

Boring, bland, nondescript sushi rolls. Took an hour to get one rainbow roll, not worth the wait. Go for the ambiance, not the food.

$$$$$. Other than that, what a great place to go with friends or a date! The sushi is fantastic. The scenery from the roof top is superb. I would like to go back and try a steak. To be continued...

Got seated on the deck and no service. Left after 10 min and went to the capital grille. Where the meal was awesome.
