Family-owned restaurant for many years. This restaurant offers delightful Malaysian and Chinese style food. Friendly staff helps recommend meals such as beef with broccoli, sesame chicken, and even mango chicken or shrimp. The appetizers are wonderful too on both menus. Try the wontons with freshly made sweet and sour sauce or the Indian pancake with curry sauce. It's a big restaurant and lots of parking/tables to choose from.

Boy this was an interesting one. We have been driving by Rasa Sayang for weeks and debating. Do we try it? Or do we let the fact that there is NEVER anyone in the parking lot ever deter us? Seriously, they can't have a huge restaurant lie that and stay open unless they do some kind of business, right? Maybe it's just one of those places that does a booming lunch buffet during the week and is dead at other times. Maybe they just do robust takeout business. They must have SOME customers, right?!? We finally decided to bite the bullet and give it a go. We ate there on a Tuesday at roughly 6 p.m. We were the only car in the parking lot except the red van that I believe belongs to the owner. Inside, we were greeted with a dated decor and a fairly muggy, musty odor. A young man rushed out from the back and asked if we were dining in. He seated us in a booth with a table covered in plastic. He then also went and turned the air conditioning on in the dining room, I appreciated that he turned the air on, but did not take this as a good sign either. Everything was clean but also at the same time kind of sticky. The decor is a little cheesy and definitely dated. It's an odd mix of Asian restaurant and Old Country Buffet. I seriously considered leaving. But we decided to stick it out. The menu is divided into a Malaysian section and a more traditional Chinese selection. I was very very very tempted to go find some safe old friends on the Chinese portion of the menu... sesame chicken can't be too bad, right? But we deliberately decided to at least try to be adventurous and stick to the Malaysian side of the menu. I am not going to remember the names of any of the dishes, but I can describe them. We ordered the pancake appetizer, which was actually very delicious. Light and flaky, pretty greasy (a downside but I like greasy food so whatever) and with a really interesting chicken-based, curry like sauce. I really dug the sauce. I liked it so much that I kept it when he cleared the plate. We also wanted the beef satay but the waiter told us they did not have the beef marinated so we had to have the chicken. It was good. Tender, moist, not too much overkill on the spices. The sauce with that was curry sauce too but much heavier but had some nice crunchy peanuts in it and had been warmed, which I thought was a nice touch. Entree-wise we ordered beef chow fun, which was OK but not the best. It included what I think were homemade rice noodles, which were very good, but the sauce was not very flavorful or plentiful and there were too many bean sprouts. It was not the best chow fun I've ever had. We also ordered an egg noodle dish that came with bok choy, shrimp and squid (though I asked for no squid). That was actually pretty good. Again, I think homemade noodles, with a light brown garlic type sauce. I was leery of ordering seafood but the shrimp were very good. Tail on. The service was decent, which it certainly ought to have been considering we were the only ones there. Our water glasses were kept full (though they were for some reason like really small glasses that required frequent refills). The food did not come really quickly, but it was clear that they were making everything from scratch for us when we ordered, so I didn't mind that. The waiter was friendly, personable and helpful, answering all of our questions and not hovering. Honestly, the thing that bothered me the most was the affirmation of my general theory that no one eats here. We were there at prime time dinner time and were the only customers that came in pretty much for an entire hour. Also during this time, there was not one phone call for takeout. I really do not know how they are in business if this is representative of a typical night. But all of that said, I would definitely order some takeout from this place from time to time. The food was fresh and was clearly homemade to order. It wasn't the most mind-blowing Asian food I've ever had but would certainly hit the spot if you wanted a noodle dish and some fried rice. But I don't think I'd eat in again. It wasn't the most pleasurable dining experience.

By far the best food I have had. I have been here many times and will go many more in the future. Strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I really wanted to like this place - family owned, independent - unfortunately the food is really subpar. I had this fried rice dish with chicken and shrimp - the rice was yellow (like curry powder or tumeric) however the main taste was salt. This is the blandest asian food I've had. You are better off going to some chow-mein joint.

I have driven by this location hundreds of times and always keep driving. This past weekend had the chance to grab some take-out and decided to give it a shot. Granted the decor (besides the great looking fish tanks in the lobby) is really kind of eclectic, the two chicken dishes we had were very good. My son had the Peking Chicken and I had the Sesame Chicken. We both thought they were very good and will be back in the near future to try something different.

My office is near this restaurant and I love ethnic food, so I thought I'd try to support a local business. I regretted it. It was horrible. Do not eat here. The chicken in the curry chicken meal I ordered was gamey, rubbery and grisly, like they found it in the back of the fridge after six months festering there. I wanted my money back and couldn't get out of there soon enough. It's no wonder I never see cars in the parking lot. Sorry, but this place should just close their doors.
