When I saw this place I didn't know what a Torta was? I thought maybe it was a tart pastry but after looking at the menu I learned it was a special Mexican style sandwich and I was eager to try one. I had the chicken and it had a nice kick with the chipolte mayo and the creamy avocado spread. The chicken was grilled but seemed to be lightly breaded with tasty seasoning and definitely had something special about it. Yum-O! If you haven't tried a Mexican sandwich, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to something different than your standard subway fare, you'll be glad you did!

Pros: -The tortas are really good. I had the Milanesa torta; there's a lot of flavors and textures going on in one sandwich there. -The prices are reasonable. -Service is fast. Cons: -I'm still confused why they serve Lay's potato chips in a bag with the torta. Wouldn't tortilla chips and maybe some cheap salsa make a little more sense? -Parking and navigating MGM is kind of annoying sometimes. -Limited menu. They really don't serve anything other than tortas. But they do make that one thing well, so that can be forgiven. I'd recommend them if you're in the area looking for something cheap, fast, and tasty.

Was here one Saturday afternoon and finally found Manny's Tortas (inside Midtown Global Market). Anyhoo, this place is the ish. Bomb ass sandwiches for less than 8 bucks. Wish it'd be way less but the deliciousness is to die for. I can't believe that thinning the meat, adding jalapeno, refried beans and avocado makes the whole damn sandwich oh-so-good!

I feel really guilty giving Manny's just three stars. It seems everyone else really loves it, and the location in Mercado Central is really cute, and the ladies behind the counter are really nice. I ordered a veggie sandwich (generous portions of sauteed mushrooms and cheese) and was incredibly excited to dig in. But I just didn't love it. I expected a bolillo roll (is that wrong?) and was kinda disappointed to get a hoagie roll. And the sandwich contents weren't all that flavorful. Filling, but not remarkable. I'm definitely going back for a second look and a try at a meat torta. I'll happily post an update my opinion changes.

Mmmmmmmmmmanny's... (insert Homer Simpson drool...) Manny's is the best. I've been there about a million times for their amazing tortas. They are soooo delectable that I've never been able to get any further on the menu than the Cubano and the Especial -- they are too good! I've finally just given up, and now I alternate every time I go. When I first discovered it, I used to go literally every other week with my husband, for like six months! We just could not stop. The tortas are large -- a good size to split with a significant other or friend -- and they give you chips with it. A perfect, guilty pleasure lunch. Not health food, but food for the soul.

Solid sandwich that's better than most in town, but the price is a few bucks too high to keep coming back for more.

I have to give a five star review just for the most amazing ham sandwich ever, which they kindly serve up at Manny's. The location closest to me just closed, which might be a good thing, because that Ham Sandwich, with mayo, cheese & avocado was most surely more calories than I need to have. I also have to disagree with Josh a little, because the best thing to have with a torta from Manny's is a Mandarin Jarrito. Mmmmm..

This place reminded me of Potbelly as far as portion size goes. In quoting Dwight Schrute, it's "good, not great." No really....it's good, don't get me wrong...But I question the price of their tortas. I got the egg and chorizo torta because it was the cheapest. (Thank you economy!) I'll have to go back for the Hawaiian and Cubana tortas...maybe that'll be more satisfying. For now 4 stars and maybe a 5 star update-review the next time I go.

Oh my gosh, the best sandwich ever!! I have eaten in the midtown global market many times when we have work meetings, but last week I finally tried one of their sandwiches... I now know their ratings are BS. The cubano is top notch. My boyfriend had the egg and mexican sausage one, which he said was also wonderful.

Had lunch while in town on business. I thought my veggie sandwich was delicious. My buddy thought the steak on his Manny's Special was inferior and he was overall disappointed.

I went to Manny's in Midtown Global Market, it was pretty easy to find. I had the Manny's Special which was super delicious! Unfortunately the sandwich was smaller than I expected for the price. I am not sure if I would go there again, but as a first time Manny's eater, I thought the taste of the sandwich was really good. Presentation/ambience was pretty bare bones, so go when you're feeling laid back and casual. In summary, sandwich taste was amazing, but price to size ratio was unsatisfactory.

This is Torta Heaven! The Milanesa Torta with an East lake Brewery beer (yes they deliver said Torta to you in the Brewery) is the Marriage of Beer and Food!

I wanted to like Manny's. Everyone said those sandwiches were wonderful. I just don't get the hype. It was upper-middle class tasty, but the bolillo roll was the thinnest I've ever seen on anything called a torta. And 11 bucks? For a grilled sandwich with Lay's (yuck/why is this even a thing?)? I've had much better, for the price and just in general. While I enjoyed the salty ham and bacon of the Three Little Pigs, it was a little overboard. Meanwhile, the steak torta was a bit lackluster in flavor, with tough steak that largely came off the sandwich with the first bite. We also waited an absurd amount of time before our food even hit the grill, which was kind of sad. Minneapolis, I don't get the Manny's hype. I'm sorry. I've had better. My pick? The torta al pastor at Andale Taqueria in Richfield.

Lots of love for Manny's on Yelp - and you'll find no hate here. I just don't quite match the level of enthusiasm shared by others. Manny's makes a damn fine torta. The bread was on the plain side, gimme some crusty flaky goodness. The meat was on the lacking side, gimme some more. Both good, but not great. Bottom line, I've spent the same at a few spots with a nicer atmosphere for a better torta. Other items of note... Had a little language barrier with getting the orders right. Wasn't a huge deal and it was good in the end. Located in Mercado Central.

Hard to find a good mexican sandwich anywhere. Manny's Torta's is definitely a gem in the midtown global market. Great meat especially the steak and great toppings. They just do it right!

His food is only superb if he's working at the time. When Manny isn't there the food is old and mediocre.

If you are a vegetarian who hates surprises, do NOT order the veggie! I thought I was going to get at least the posted "fixings" which were listed as refried beans, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomato, jalapeno, and chipolte mayo. What I got was bread, onions, and a tomato slice. I expected more for 8$.

God exists. Evidence: Manny's Torta's. Pefectly toasty bread, jalapenos, cheese, lettuce, spicy-ness, etc. What more could you want out of life? The best part (maybe) is that Manny might be the kindest soul to walk the earth. Honestly, I've been kept awake at night fantasizing about Manny and his tortas. Maybe just the tortas, but still. They've gotten a bit pricey, but still delicious.

Truth be told, I've never had a Torta. I had heard of these a few months ago (Tortas that is) and started looking through Yelp for guidance. The overwhelming majority points to Manny's as the authority. So, I waited until the time was right and this weekend, I find myself pissed off and still hungry after dropping $40 for nothing at Birchwood Cafe, and figure the time is now to pull the trigger on getting a Torta. .....and bullseye! We split the chicken torta considering we just had curds and Salty Tart, and still had some brought along food to eat before hitting the art fair. The chicken was breaded just perfectly to give it a crunch but still have the chicken flavor roll through. Every topping brought you down a flavor freeway. The lettuce, tomatoes and onions were all fresh and provided great crisp, coolness. The avocado was such a perfect topping to mix with the chipotle mayo and jalapeno peppers. it's hard to understand how this isn't a staple on every sammy everywhere. And last but not least, the refried beans, which I thought about ordering without, but the woman convinced me to get on there - an incredible texture addition and the flavor to mix with the chicken and mayo was spot on. All of that is wonderful, but the bread they serve this wonderfulness with needs to be on point, and up to the job. The roll they serve these with hammers that out of the park. A great griddled roll that holds up well and was perfect. Long time coming to have one of these, and rest assured I'm not splitting another one next time I'm there... I may even order 2 or 3 just to be in an incredible food coma.

I'm very proud to be Vietnamese. But I'll admit that after my first chomp into my gourmet torta from Manny's today, I kind of wished that I grew up Mexican. #nojuzgarporfavor I'm salty that I didn't have your childhood, Carlos G! I wish I could have devoured these every week as a shorty! I ordered the Milanesa (breaded steak), and it came with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, chipotle mayo, and guacamole crammed together between two pieces of perfectly toasted bread. This sandwich tasted so delectable that I made several loud yummy noises, which totally annoyed the older lady sitting at the table next to me. She responded by giving me the crazy "stank eye". (See here: fbcdn-profile-a.akamaihd… ) In her mind, she probably wanted to shut me up. lol. BUT MAN, I was happy as the first time I defeated Vega on Street Fighter II, or when I beat Kris Humphries -the dude that married Kim Kardashian for like a month- one-on-one, 5-3, on his driveway. (He was my next-door neighbor in high school.) I tried saving my other half, but I ate it while driving down Lake Street and almost rear-ended a semi. This almost happened to me a couple of weeks ago in Saint Paul, too. #readmyreviewoftrungnam #eatingwhiledrivingishelladangerousyo #wishhashtagsworkedonyelp I read that some of the other yelpers didn't like the chips. That's cool! But for me, I don't subtract "points" from food joints' sides or appetizers unless they are really terrible. I visited Manny's Tortas for the sandwich and nothing else. I've destroyed better tortas in Killa Cali, but for the Twin Cities this is pretty damn amazing.

I would have never tried a steak sandwich with refried beans and avocado on it had I not read a rave review in the City Pages back when the great Dara Moskowitz wrote for them. Thanks Dara. These things are fantastic! If you can't imagine the taste you'll just have to try one. I agree that $8 seems a bit pricey for a sandwich - but once you're hooked you will gladly line up to give Manny your $$$. If you're not quite ready for Midtown Market or the Mercado you can get delivery via Bitesquad.

I am very much so a control freak. So when Bob suggested that I allow him to pick the restaurant for our date night, I was less than enthusiastic (to say the least). But! I have taught him well. He consulted Yelp and (being a Mexican food lover) selected Manny's for our date night feast. I have never had a torta, but being a lover of anything between two pieces of bread - it does not take a lot for me to be happy. We ended up getting the Hawaiian and the Breaded Steak. OMG. They were FANTASTIC! The bread was nice and crispy on the outside but with a soft interior. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and not canned. Plus, anything that has guacamole, refried beans, meat, cheese, jalapenos, sour cream and veggies on it - cannot be bad! This place also had the added bonus of serving wonderful Mexican sodas and desserts. Overall, I have to say that this is definitely one of the best Mexican places that I have been to in the Twin Cities and I would not hesitate to go back again and again! Although I hold the title of "Right Restaurant Picker" in our household, I do believe Bob won this round.

YUM thats for sure. The ingredients are fresh and the bread is warm and toasty. Located in the Midtown Global market and they offer a nice seating area. Also free parking in the ramps up to 3 hours. I heard all about Manny's too many times and since I was at the global market I decided to give Manny's a chance and discovered what a great place to grab a sandwich. Yes they are a bit pricey but let me tell ya its well worth the few extra dollars that you pay from a subway sandwich or any other place. The moment you bit into the tortas its warm, the veggies and sauces are spread out evenly to make a kick in the mouth that will make you devour everything up.

My friend and I stopped by Manny's Tortas on a Sunday at 10 a.m. instead of going to our usual brunch, we were amazed by the hustle and bustle of the Mercado Central location. Seemed like a lot of people enjoy a savory meal for breakfast. We didn't know which sandwich to get so we decided to split the Cubano and Manny's Special. We loved both the sandwiches so much, after eating both and analyzing textures and tastes from both sammies we both agreed we liked the Manny's Special a little more because of the juicy steak, mushrooms and spicy mayo. It is a messy goodness that would be difficult to replicate. I agree with many of the other comments about the tiny sad napkins they give you along with the bag of Lay's Classic potato chips with their sandwiches (quite odd). It took a while for the service to realize we were waiting to order (hence the 4 stars). This was on my foods/places to try for the past two years and the sandwiches lived up to all the hype.

  • Saby K.

I thought the torta was small for the price I paid. I was still hungry, so I hungrily ate the chips that came with my meal. It wasn't even a good pairing because it was american chips with "latin" food. I come from LA, where the food is more authentic, and while I don't bash this place, I don't think it's a gem. Perhaps if you really need to eat a Torta, go ahead and try this, but I'd go elsewhere. The saving item of my experience was the mango soda.

  • Pete U.

The Manny's Special Torta is just an amazingly good sandwich! Yes, it might be a little overpriced, especially compared to some of the other establishments in the Mercado Central, but I keep coming back to Manny's because it is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

I had never had a Mexican sandwich (torta) before and let me tell you, Manny's does it right! I don't give 5 stars to extremely casual places very often but this place definitely deserves the praise. This was my first meal in Minneapolis and it started the trip off well. Tucked between many other hole in the wall restaurant booths from around the globe in the Midtown Global Market, Manny's is a small gem. Makes me wish I had more time to explore the diverse Market! I had the "Special"- a pork sandwich with marinated pork, ham, jalapenos, veggies, cheese, avocado and grilled onions. Reminiscent of a tlyuda, the torta was amazing. I couldn't stop raving about it. Obviously still can't. The man working at the sandwich place (owner?) was very helpful in helping me pick out a torta I would enjoy. The sandwich was a bit pricier than your normal sandwich at $9, but well worth it. I could only finish a bit more than half of mine. I would recommend traveling (half way across the country perhaps?) to give Manny's a try. This makes me sad I don't live closer. I will be dreaming about you, Manny's! Until next time....

I've been a fan of Manny's Tortas since they were located in Mercado Central and we would sneak away at lunch from South High for our fix. The wrath of returning late for class was always worth it for such a delicious lunch. Even today, every time I order I try to muster the courage to try something new, but I can't. Manny's Special Torta reels me in every time. It is fantastic. Even Manny will give you a hard time if you try to order something else. (I do hear everything else is amazing as well....) I'm docking the rating just one star for ambiance and location.

  • David G.

The best place around for tortas, or mexican sandwiches. Situated nicely in the middle of mercado central, this place has all the classic tortas. The manny's Special as others have noted is amazing, as is the classic Milanesa, or breaded steak torta. All tortas are served on fresh bread with lettuce, tomato, refried beans, cheese, avocado, and a really good chipotle mayo. This is one of those places that basically does one thing and one thing only, make quality tortas. My only real gripe is the price. At around 8 bucks for a sandwich and free chips, i could almost get 3 banh mi from Ha Tien Market, my favorite sandwich place in the area. If you're in the area, be sure to stop in Mercado Central for a torta and don't forget to pick up your mexican pastries and breads at Panaderia El Mexicano and grab a horchata from next door to wash it all down.

Who knew something so simple could be so tasty?! After seeing all the wonderful reviews on Yelp I went out of my way to come here. It was worth it. The sandwich looks deceptively small but is pretty damn good. i had the pork loin which was thinly sliced, perfectly lightly seasoned and complimented with a soft yet crispy bun, fresh tomato, and avocado, which i absolutely adore. Have to say I loved getting a chance to use my Spanish while I was in there!!! My fluency is going to waste in the northern suburbs.

Let me start off by saying that I've never tried a Torta before; I knew it was a Mexican sandwich but that was the extent of my knowledge. I had the Veg Torta and my boyfriend had the Manny's special. Each came on a toasted bun with chipotle mayo and fresh avocado, this combined with the jalapenos on each sandwich gave them a nice heat. My sandwich had cooked veggies and a little cheese, the limited cheese was a bonus for this sandwich. The bread had a nice crunch without being hard to eat and you could really taste the chipotle mayo. My boyfriend's sandwich had two kinds of meat (one was ham I think) and the same additional ingredients. The sandwiches are served with chips and we also ordered 2 Mexican sodas. I've never had a Mexican soda before and it was quite a treat, very sweet. The sandwiches were served with bags of Lay's potato chips which was a big disappointment. I was expecting some great tortilla chips or something. The sandwiches were good but small for $6+. We both left satisfied but not necessarily entirely full. The sandwiches were great and I would have one again in a heartbeat, but they weren't overtly original. For a sandwich it was excellent, I'm not sure where it falls on the scale of tortas.

Manny's Tortas is phenomenally delicious. It's simply some of the best Mexican food in the Twin Cities. Dense and luscious bread, chipotle mayo, refried beans, choice of meat (carne asada for me), lettuce, tomato, and onions (but not on mine). Because they are made to order it is easy to satisfy picky eaters like me. Don't be scared by the price ~$9 is *well* worth it. The sandwich is filling and substantial. Mercado Central can be more than a little intimidating, especially on the weekends. If it's your first time, I would highly recommend going on a weekday.

A recent visit proved Manny's continues to make the best tortas in town, maybe even in the country. Pair one of their sandwiches with a strawberry milkshake ("liquado de fresa") from Reyna de los Jugos ("Juice Queen"...or "Queen of the Juices") and you'll have a match made in heaven.

Like so many of the other reviewers, I'm Manny's obsessed. I have gone a surprisingly long time without one of their tortas, but I assure you that it's been a difficult, unhappy struggle. Life without tortas is bleak. I miss the cubano, the turkey, the milanesa, the Manny's especial... I miss them like crazy. I miss the spicy chipotle mayo, jalapeños, avocado and beans that make them all so impossible to eat with any grace. I miss washing each bite down with a sweet sip of Jarritos. I miss the leftover 1/2 sandwich that I save for later and then always end up devouring on the way home. Oh, Manny's. We'll be together again soon (like, later today).

Yo quiero Manny's Tortas! The special is my all time favorite combo of flavors and textures. Multiple layers of meat and veggies tantalize every taste bud before flinging them into a steam bath of caliente comfort. Even though my stomach thinks that I should share the generous portion, my tongue licks up every last morsel on the plate. Find any excuse that you can to make it to Manny's!

My first encounter with Manny's and I was hesitant but Manny, you made it so easy! The girl behind the counter rattled off the ingredients to me, describing my sandwich and tempting me to order. The man at the register smiled and told me to enjoy. The sandwich was steaming hot and yet I couldn't wait to dig in. It was fresh off the grill hot and also holy jalepeno hot and so I need extra napkins. I can't believe I ate the whole thing (minus 2 bites I grudgingly gave to the Honey)! Manny, I will have you again.

P & I decided as part of our anniversary weekend we would go back to place of our second date Midtown Global Market. I decided for my dining pleasure I would try Manny's. I ordered the Cubano sans avocado and mayo (allergies). It was ok. I was expecting a more traditional Cubano with the pickle etc but it was more like a pumped up ham and cheese. Would I go back? Not sure ... with so many selections in the Global Market, I would need to be craving it before going back.

Enormous portions + low prices = win. I'm not even going to venture a guess as to how many calories is packed into one of these sandwiches. Delicious, scrumptious calories.

Caught up with Manny's at the State Fair and was proud to make the Cubana one of my food choices. It can't be missed, even amongst all the deep-friend everythings on a stick. Being a sandwich girl, I couldn't resist. This torta added another layer to my sandwich loving and I now know where to go when craving it.

About once every two months, I get this particular craving. It is an itch I cannot scratch without the help of a Manny's Special. It is a beautiful amalgam of meats, hot peppers, and sauce that is far too gooey and sloppy to fit on a bun. Served with chips and an orange Fanta, it amounts to about $7 of the best f-ing street food ever. Each time I eat one, I am possessed with terrible anxiety that, if Manny's were to close, I would never be able to get one again. And that would be a sad, sad thing.

BEST TORTAS ON EARTH. If you've never had a torta (a Mexican street sandwich) then you must be from Minnesota. Even so, you deserve to taste the wonders of the streets of Mexico D.F. These sandwiches were created by Manny Gonzalez, a world-class chef who came from Mexico's capital city to Minnesota and decided to bring Mexican street vendor food to the masses. He is a regular guest on Kare 11 cooking segments and fills his creations with the most delicious ingredients: melted cheese, chipotle mayonnaise, onions, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and a few tangy jalapeo peppers. This is the furthest thing from a midwestern hoagie! I get the vegetarian which comes with sauted mushrooms and onions all slapped into an oozie-gooey sandwich mess. I am so glad they give you lots of napkins because it can be a little messy. The meat ones look good too though--and just as messy. Boyfriend likes the milanesa, which is basically country-fried steak with all the fixins. The other sweet deal is they have punch cards so once you eat 9 of them (and you will) you can get your 10th free. When you order a meal at Manny's, you automatically get potato chips, which I feel is unnecessary. Anything that fills your stomach and makes less room for torta is bad news. They charge you the same so it's better to just take them and save them for some less-tasty bag lunch you'll have to eat later that week. P.S. I've never had ROOM for dessert but they always have a deli case full of delicious-looking cakes and flans. I suppose you could eat LESS torta and try dessert but I have yet to master that trick.

I want to go back right now. I had never been there before but thanks to a Happenings book coupon, finally made it. I love the location in Mercado Central. I wish I had more time or else I would have looked around more. I had the Manny's Special Torta. It was delicious. The only problem was that I burned my tongue because I was trying to eat it too fast.

Yummmmmmmm. Another Twin Cities institution I used to live down the street from. Delicious, delicious sandwiches. I recommend asking them to go easy on the mayo, but that's just me. Since moving away I've started making my own tortas, which are still delicious but not quite the real thing. If you're nearby you must try these. Also they're open til like 3 am.

ok so here's the deal....last night...adorable date arrives at my apt and asks giddily if i have thought at all about what i'd like to do for dinner...i'm no slouch and clearly recognize his apparent excitement and offer to just let him tell me where we're going because of tihs obvious 12year old type of excitement. this is a big deal. i love food. and i'm semi picky about where i get it/how i cook it/where i eat it...etc etc...but i go with the flow. so, he goes ummm have you ever had a manny's torta? to which my edina-bred, semi snobby self immediately answers "you want to get all dressed up and go downtown to mannys?!" my wisconsin man then looks at me like i've crawled out of an unknown planet wearing green slime and politely informs me of manny's tortas... well, i was in for quite a surprise. off we go through uptown, through lyn/lake, into said midtown area and arrive at the international global market place...and straight to mannys tortas. i have to say i wasnt THAT excited about the torta but i was goin with the flow when mister man ordered the "mannys special" and a mandaring jarritos (extra points for him on that one). five to seven minutes later one of the most delicious sandwiches i will ever eat is bestowed upon us. size: perfect for two bread: delicious and appropriately gooey with various sauces and meat drippings. i just said meat drippings...huh huh. filling: well...what WASNT on this sammy i ask you. juicy steak, salty ham, avocado, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms. sauce: spicy (and for me...it was lip tingling, nose running, cough a little bit spicy) mayonnaise. (ps i love mayo). this place was TOPS...the sandwich was so satisfying, the counter lady was super nice and adorable, i think the price was pretty reasonable for what ended up being dinner for two incld drink (think it was about 10$)...the atmosphere in the building is super cool and there is definitely quite enough to keep you occupied. Next up is trying the location in mercado central....

Meh...I had the Chicken torta. It was good but I was expecting more from the reviews. The chipotle mayo had a kick. For my money, I'd go to El Taco Riendo.

Manny's is a total staple of mine because the food is just so damn good. The vegetarian torta is my favorite, and they have really good horchata to accompany any of the fine tortas on the menu.

I have loved this place for years, but I haven't been to their newer location in the Mercado. The bread is always crusty, the total effect is delicious. Maybe one of the best flans in the area too.

  • Annie W.

Damn, son. I've had tortas in LA and Manny's totally trumps them. The bread is toasted and all buttery, the cheese is melty, and the chicken was grilled perfectly. It had jalapeno's but my mouth didn't explode. It was perfect. After I was done with mine I wanted at least one more.

  • J S.

I do love mannys. They offer several different varieties of tortas and they are delicious. They normally put jalepeno peppers on them, so if you don't like hot stuff ask them to skip. The service is friendly and pretty fast although it does take a few minutes for them to cook up the meat and warm the bread. My favorite is the chicken with everything. The cost is a little bit high and I wish they were a dollar or two cheaper so I could go there more often for lunch. Manny himself seems to be there much of the time overseeing things, which is a good sign that he cares about quality. I wish he would open one in the burbs somewhere i think he would do a killing. As a side tip the seating area right in front of mannys is pretty loud with the tv blasting, you are better off finding a different area to sit in the market if you plan on talking with a friend or just don't want to hear a tv blasting.

Great place for authentic tortas in Minny!! Have had the Manny's Special, let me tell you it's special, and the Cuban. Manny's Special was awesome if you're from the Guy Fieri school of eating. Elbows out and bent over slightly so it doesn't get on your shirt, etc. Highly recommend! Cuban was very good but not the traditional Cuban. Didn't slow me down though. While you're there check out the rest of the Market. If you're a fan of ethnic cuisine, you'll love it.

I've been here dozens of times and am never disappointed. The veggie torta has to be one of the five best vegetarian meals in town, regardless of price. Bonus for location in Mercado Central, which is a fun place to walk around, pick up some tamales to go at La Loma, etc.

What? A sandwich place that merits 5 stars? How can that be? Yes indeed. There is really no way to compare this to anything else in the Twin Cities. The Cuban and Manny's Special are my favorites -- go hungry!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
