Had brunch with three friends. Cold coffee, slimy eggs -- and the sausage? What was it made of? Poor quality food, poorly made and perhaps some of the worst service I've ever encountered. Our server came, took our order, and maintained the same I'm-doing-you-a-favor attitude throughout. It felt like we were infringing on her day. She can relax. We meet and go out for brunch once a month, but we won't be back here.

Worst salad ever, the veggies are fine but the italian dressing is pretty much just olive oil and maybe oregano. It makes the salad more bland somehow and just ruins the entire thing. The burgers are delicious but the crappy salads leave no enjoyable healthier options. :-( I mean really, how do you f#*k up italian dressing?!

Want to hang out at Brothers but don't feel like stumbling to downtown? Enter Legends, your Northeast equivalent. This haven of booze features two floors- head downstairs for darts and grinding to the weekend DJ. You can double up on your drink for $2 more, but they don't take credit cards if your bill is under $20. Thanks for letting me know right as I was about to pay, bartender. If you're drunk already and in the area, it's probably a good time. Luckily, I can take my pick of trashy bars in my neighborhood to visit when the urge strikes.

This is a large divey sports bar that has some of the cheapest beers this close to Downtown/Nordeast, especially if the nightly special appeals to you. It is your typical dive/sports bar that you might find in a smaller city. As they say on the sign, "small town fun, big city excitement!" or something like that. I don't know about the big city excitement, but the small town thing is appealing actually, you will see a very wide array of people here that you normally might not. Downstairs there are 2 poorly maintained pool tables. The bathrooms are not very nice. It's a very collegiate experience, and the crowd consists largely of both current students and former ones perhaps reliving the old times, some in business apparel, as well as old drunks in camouflage eating a salisbury steak or something at the bar. I enjoyed that part. There are waitresses, and food. I did not have the food. The waitress was very friendly and the nightly special was 2 for 1 drinks for students. I had to ask for the deal, but then she gave it without further question though I probably look a bit old for being a student. There is parking and a lot of people smoking outside the front door.

My friends and I are brunch regulars here. The food and drinks are plentiful and cheap, including epic Bloody Marys. Service is variable, usually on the slower side of things - but it's the weekend, why rush?

Came here for happy hour on the patio. Good food specials, but food is just good, doesn't wow me....had the tator tots and bacon wrapped rib tips. Bacon was overdone but still tasty. Happy hour drinks are okay. My biggest deal was with the service. They were not that busy but it seemed to take quite a while for drinks? Or maybe I was just crabby and in need of a good buz... It was my first time back here in a long time...I have never suggested going here, just go when others want to.

Oh Legends, how do I feel about you. When I visited you when I was 21, I thought you were the greatest place ever and now that I live like 2 minutes away from you I can't help but like you. I miss some of your deals, like the college night with 241 mugs, so good, so drunk. Anyways, I come here sort of often due to the distance and the cold winters we have to live through. They have a few beers on tap, usually appealing to everyone, with the American style beers and a few Crafts. Depending on the night, their drink deals can be ok. I always hope it will be busier on the weekends since it is huge. The basement usually has a DJ, but like 3 people are dancing, making it sort of sad. But with it being empty, the pool tables they have are usually always open and so are the darts. There food is pretty good for bar food, i feel like it is a little too expensive, but it is what it is. I got the appetizer pizza, which is probably the best deal, its huge, you choose three toppings, comes with a monster amount of cheese (yet is not too greasy!), and is like $10 ( The prices online are definitely lower than in house by a quarter or two) and very filling. Would probably be a good app for like 2-3 people, but pizza seems weird as an app for me.. Is that just me? My friends have tried the sandwiches and wings, and said about the same thing, Not much to there.

Legends has a nice outdoor patio with comfortable seating and the inside identifies as the classic Americana sports bar. The food is actually quite good. The 4 stars is mostly due to the service because our server was attentive and funny. Overall, Legends is a nice neighborhood spot.

Stopped by for an hour, I don't think that the appetizers are good, maybe leftovers in disguise? The Bacon on the Beef bites could of been seared first, then wrap it, undercooked pork could make you really sick! Service was good though. Next time I'll pass this place up and try Eli's across the street.

A neighborhood staple and my go-to cheap Happy Hour. Half price apps are killer and go until 7pm, which is rare. My favorite is either the wings (spicy bbq or buffalo) or the barbecue pork quesadilla. Thursday mug chug and $0.50 wings are fantastic too. Will anything you eat be mind blowing? Probably not. But it's a really solid, tasty, and CHEAP meal!

Average bar food. Service ok. All in all, they are alright. I cant really write a lot because I really feel indifferent to this place. We had 5 of us here on Saturday for lunch/ brunch before heading to art a whirl.... I have no impression, good or bad. I had ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which btw, is enormous... it was really 2 wraps and I had a side of coleslaw. I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either. eh... i would come here is if i was in the area and a friend wanted too but I wouldn't make a special trip.

One of the most laid back bar/grill places. They have the best bloody marys I've ever tried and I'm not a huge fan of bloodies. Quesadillas are fantastic! There's a nice patio that fills up quickly especially on Fridays for Happy Hour and other days when the weather is nice. Military/Police/Fire Fighters also have a nice discount if you ask for it.

My boyfriend and I originally wanted to go Eli's, but they were on a 20 minute wait and we just wanted to grab some quick food. So we want Legends. I had just gotten off work, so I wanted to relax with a cold beer, and I was very unimpressed with their beer selection, so I just settled with a Mich Golden. After seeing that they had chicken wild rice soup I was very excited so I ordered soup and salad. When I got my meal, I literally laughed out loud. My soup was in a small ramekin, and my salad was huge and looked very unappealing. When I started eating, I was just as unimpressed. It tasted more like canned chicken noodle soup, and the salad tasted like water. Apparently very thing was house made.. I think they should reconsider their chef or recipes.. Long story short, for waste your time going here if you're looking for good food and beer.

The food is fantastic. I have never needed to return food to the kitchen. The homemade coleslaw is delicious! I gladly pay the $2.50 up charge for their slaw. Serving size is generous and what a great alternative to fried foods. The bloodies are fantastic and the "tall" is a meal within itself. My only disappointment is they have no double IPA's . To date, every meal I or my guest ordered has been delicious... food that is suppose to be hot is hot and food that is suppose to be cold is cold. Occasionally, service can be a bit off... but not so bad it ruins the experience. The food is reasonably priced. However, the house wines and shots are overpriced considerably. This is compared to other local establishments. Beer choice, limited. Some evenings the clientele can be a bit loud and rough. We timed our departure to avoid the 8-10 smokes blocking the front door. Also, like other bars, people are over served. I know, I was in the business.

My friends and I have been going here for years because they have good food. Service is a hit or miss and the restaurant needs some major updates. Ceiling tiles show signs of leakage which have been there 7 plus years, bathroom relally needs a fresh coat of paint and some renovation. Props for the new sink in the women's bathroom, but don't stop there. We try to avoid the bathroom visit, eat and leave. Location is close to work or we would probably try some other places out.

Came here tonight with a group for trivia night. Our trivia group normally frequents Darby's, but decided to try legends tonight. We ended up winning two rounds of trivia, and tied on the third. When we asked our waitress what the prize for winning was, she told us it was a free round (maximum 4) of drinks per round of trivia won. We were very pleased with this, and asked to get our 8 drinks for winning the two rounds of trivia. However, the bartender was very reluctant to give us any of our prizes, and eventually agreed to only one round of free drinks (for 5 people at our table). He asserted that we "hadn't claimed our prize in time" even though the rules/prizes were never explained to us. After having spent hours at this bar eating and drinking, it seems ridiculous to deny our $10.00 of free drinks. I'd recommend to everyone to check out the bars that are using Trivia Mafia. Their rules are clear, and prizes aren't decided by the whim of the bartender. I can't believe they would ruin a customer relationship with 5 people over such a small matter.

Legends is the best. It's perfect for so many occasions. It has a good happy hour, patio, dancing, trivia, nightly specials, pool, sports, breakfast, and character. While their non-breakfast food isn't anything spectacular, it works well as good, old-fashioned bar food. They have a great happy hour with an extensive 1/2 price app menu. It's wonderful for a night for beer & trivia with friends. Their DJ dancing nights on Friday and Saturday are always a blast. The place doesn't start filling up with people ending their wild weekend nights ("I just wanna dance!") until after midnight. Then it's a party. Their breakfast is BOMB- try the pancakes. In case you haven't heard, their Bloody Marys are some of the best around. On Saturdays & Sundays the gigantic ones are only $6! They come complete with celery, pickle, beef stick, olive, banana pepper, & shrimp. Om nom nom. I think this is the only drink that I ever actually craaave. While it still attracts the college crowd, it has none of the frat-boy douceyness of Dinkytown. If you're down for a good time, bring some friends to Legends.

Ordered the Reuben. Very little corned beef and what was there was tough and chewy. My wife ordered a burger with bbque sauce on the side. Sauce came on the burger. The burger was overdone and the bacon was under done. Bloody Marys seem to be a specialty so I may go back to try that but the food was poor.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm kind of a regular here...I'm using the term regular loosely. We're talking a frequency of once every two weeks or up to twice a week. It really varies by how hard the week has been and if my friends are available. I'm not proud of it, but I will at least own up to it. Anyways, not the point. Legends is a toolsy place where we can make fun of other customers, eat good food, always catch happy hour, and chill without breaking the bank. I don't think there is ever a time when it's not happy hour. Idk, maybe I just never go when it's not. Waffle fries. Just order them, okay? Super good and the dipping sauce is yummy. I usually partake of their appetizer menu and haven't been let down yet. Although, my friend and I tried...don't judge us...the bacon wrapped tenderloins. They were a miss, but hey, we were brave! Most of all, Legends is just what you expect it to be. You typical bar and grill. Good American food, lots of beer, and some strong drinks when you need it. I wouldn't exactly make a special trip there, but it's conveniently in my neighborhood. When you compare it to other establishments in NE, it actually is pretty great. So if you're partying in NE and find yourself hungry, this place might be a good last stop.

Legends is the reason I've kept my college ID in pristine condition even though I've now been out of school longer than I'd like to admit. That said, a few recent trips down memory lane (i.e., back to my Nordeast college years) have inspired my voicing my support for Legends, especially since it doesn't seem much has changed over the years. 2-4-1's on Saturday with college ID - Check. 1/2 priced apps during Happy Hour - Check. Patio with bags - Check. Pool and darts - Check. This place is pretty much a college bar, but that's all it needs to be. Food is pretty typical bar food, don't expect a culinary adventure, but still not disappointing for the price and their menu is huge. The downstairs weekend crowd gets a bit too top 40 for me, but if you want to get your Stanky Leg on you'll likely have company on the dance floor. My only real beef with this place is that I've been overcharged on multiple occassions on my credit card. That said, I've probably been to this place enough in the past to make those few times statistically insignificant.... And each time this was brought to the staff's attention they were happy to resolve the 'oversight.'

Over the past few years, Legends has become a regular hangout for me and my friends. I've had some good times, danced it up, and eaten some decent meals. But honestly, nothing sticks out--except for the free 2-for-1 I got from the bartender once (guess he was feeling generous). But note: he also told me he purposely leaves his wedding ring at home so he gets better tips. Sleazy move, bro. Overall, not a bad hangout place...but if you're in the mood for a buger, fries and a beer, I'd probably suggest somewhere a little nicer.

Gotta love having a decent bar with awesome specials within stumbling distance of your apartment. :) Their specials are really great. I like that they have the college ID night and other specials on the weekends, because it's kinda hard to find bars with drink specials on the weekends. Their food is good too. I love the half price apps during happy hour. Every employee I've encountered here has been really friendly, which I can't say about most places. I also love their outdoor seating and downstairs bar and pool tables. I can't say one bad thing about this place, actually.

Went here a week or so ago for my birthday. The bar area was packed out and I was lucky to find seats for me and my friends. The bartender was polite, but was pretty slow to take our orders for wings and drinks. Speaking of wings; those things are TASTEY! Mmm-mmm-mmm. I think everything was pretty well priced, but since it was my birthday, I didn't pay for anything. The female bartender who came later even gave me a free beer :) This is the kind of place to eat wings and watch football for less than B-Dubs, but I wouldn't spend my life hanging out in a place like this. Thanks for the free drinks!

Want to go to brunch in your clothes from the night before and not be judged? Ding ding ding! Legends is your place. Their keep-me-coming-back-for-more specialty is their $7.50 25oz Bloody. It comes with all your classic accoutrements (pickle, olive, etc.), but the shrimp and beef stick is what slays me. The mix is perfect - not too spicy, but enough kick to keep you interested. I always seem to forget that this, in itself, could be my meal, but I insist on ordering food, anyway. I'll start off with saying this: if you're going to get food, aim for their lunch menu. While their breakfast isn't half bad, it's just not worth it when you can get food like quesadillas (the artichoke chicken will change your life) or burgers. It's so much food, you can eat for two or three days off of one serving #America. Whatever you do, though, don't get the fiesta nachos. So much nacho and toppings, so little fiesta - eating them eventually becomes a chore (although my guy friends swear by them, time after regrettable time). If you're going for a Saturday or Sunday Funday, get the breakfast shots - a pancake flavored liquor concoction chased with bacon. Who said liquid diets had to be cleansing?

Inconsistent. I went there on Friday night for dinner and a few drinks. The food and the service were excellent. I went there about six months ago and I had a horrible experience. The only reason I went back on Friday is because my wife wanted to check them out. So I'm averaging out both visits to three stars. The crowd is very interesting and eclectic. It was almost as fun watching weird customers as it was eating the all-you-can-eat fish for Friday. -Daddy Maxx Retro

A pretty nice bar and known for their big Bloody Mary's! They are topped with shrimp, a beef stick, celery, olives and cheese. The service is good and they are military friendly. When I drilled at the Minneapolis Armory we would stop at Legends afterwards and get 50% off our food. Chicken wings and chicken quesadilla were both great. Traditional American food which is always a great pick up after a long day at work! Last time we were served by a BEAUTIFUL girl with amazing eyes! Always a plus! It can be busy so the only thing I would add is a bigger parking lot! The lot and street around fills up fast.

Legends was ok as a beer and burger joint but recently took essentially the same menu, added $1-2 per entree, but also removed sides from being included. I ordered a sandwich- a Rachreuben which was ok except for a half-inch wide slice of jalapeno in the 'coleslaw' topping - and the waiter asked what kind of side I'd like. After I ordered I realized ALL the sides are $2.00. This was in addition to the $11 sandwich. My wife ordered a tall Guinness. When the bill came: $7.75 If you want high falutin cuisine prices, eat next door at Eli's (it's actually worth it) otherwise go ANYWHERE else.

Among all the claims with which they promote their business, they're only good at two things: 1- drink specials and 2- appetizers. 1- When it comes to drink specials, they compare favorably with Lyle's: Great drink specials 7 days a week (6, 7 or 9 pm depending on the day of the week till close ) along with a good happy hour, Monday through Friday (3-7). Tuesday's $1 domestic pints and $7-$8 pitchers on Saturday nights are awesome. Sunday is the "week in review" night, meaning you could choose from "almost" all of the specials of all the week nights. BUT: there are many exceptions you should bear in mind when ordering special drinks. For example, beers are priced based on a 4 tier system during the special drink hours. However, on the menu you don't see which price level each beer belongs to. Also, their interpretation of "rail drink" specials is a bit arbitrary. So, always ask before you order. 2- Appetizers are delicious! Buffalo chicken quesadilla is nice. It's nothing special: just buffalo sauce, chicken and cheese. But it's simply delicious. Fiesta nachos is yummy too. Also, great fries loaded with cheese! It's 4 star only for the two things they know how to do. Legends is a good venue for a late night drink and appetizer as you catch up with friends! If it's not a Saturday or a game night, it's also not too noisy, which is another +.

Came here to enjoy the Gopher game. No specials, the slowest service ever, grumpy server, small tvs in weird places, and subpar food. We order nachos which took 45 minutes, walleye fingers that were not walleye and very overdone. On the upside the wings were tasty and I would order again besides for the fact that they were really spendy. Will not recommend or come back for a gameday experience.

I enjoy coming here and getting a buzz tied on if ya know what I mean... They have awesome drink specials and a cool staff as others have stated already. I like that there are 2 different atmospheres here too; down stairs is like a dance club college environment and up stairs is more of your local bar scene. I've eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed, good dependable bar food. The menu is large though and might take some time to read through every option, try to pick a type of food then search that part of the menu, it will make life easier.

Legend's Bloody Mary's are basically a Saturday morning tradition for my friends and I. Nothing gets rid of the hangover better than one of their "big bloodys," which are a meal in itself for $6. They're the best bloody mary's I've had in Northeast or Dinkytown for sure, maybe Minneapolis (Joe's Garage and Ike's are up there, though). Only wish they had cheese cubes on them, but the shrimp and beef stick is delicious. Service is always adequate--there are good servers and bad servers for sure (try to stay away from the tall, scary one!), but they all get the job done, despite always seeming hungover. As for food, it's pretty good for such a divey place. The Racheuben sandwich is a great take on the classic Reuben/Rachel deli sandwiches with jalapeno coleslaw. Their waffle fries are good, too. I've had a bad experience with the spinach dip (it was soupy), but I don't really like spinach dip anyways, so... take that with a grain of salt. Went there on a party bus at night, and it gets pretty hopping on the weekend. With a group of 50 rolling through the door, everything was taken care of and the bartenders were kind and not annoyed. There's a DJ in the basement. Go for the bloodies if you're a fan- worth it!

Legends is the definition of college dive bar. Cheap drinks and shot specials every night of the week. It has the smell of cheap spilled beer. Also a good sports bar with good bar food like wings and burgers. Large outdoor patio. I like Legends, it is a casual and fun bar to meet up for cheap drinks.

The last time I was at Legends was to watch game an NBA playoff game. I figured it would be a great place to watch the game since its so close to my house and they market themselves as a sports bar. There were about 10 people there on this weeknight, and all seemed to be watching the game. There was top 40 music playing in the bar. I asked the server if she could put the TV volume on in the bar so we could hear the game (i was surprised they didnt have this going already... sports bar, NBA playoffs). She reluctantly asked the bartender to do so, I could hear him say "is he for real?" and then server came back and said they couldn't figure out how to get the TV volume on. As you can tell from my prior review, I use to love Legends but have been staying away due to crappy food and cleanliness reasons, this is strike 3. Good thing great competition seems to be popping up all over NE.

The Bloody Mary's are always big and full of spice and flavor. Sometimes the spice can be too much but that just means I don't drink it too fast. Now they have cute little cans of beer to give you with the bloodt Mary instead of a small glass for the beer back. I love their waffle fries, especially the chili cheese waffle fries. It is a giant serving so don'r expect to eat that as an appetizer with an entree. The chili alone is pretty good. nothing out of the box, a basic chili, but it has enough flavor. I love coming here with my rugby mates and dancing in the basement bar.
(4)
Shelley H.
Their food is average at best, BUT their bloodys are nothing short of amazing! How can a 25 oz bloody for $6 be beat? The price not only rocks, but when there's a shrimp, olives, celery, pickle, and a beef stick paired with a perfectly spiced drink I am one happy camper. Let's keep it simple: skip the food, come for the bloody marys!

My favorite sports bar. Actually one of my favorite bars, period. Always have a good time when I come here. Not douche-y and not a dive. Fun atmosphere. Their apps are delicious. 5 stars for being great at what they do. If you love trivia, join us on Wednesdays for half-price apps and taps. Starts at 9 pm!

Bloody Mary was good until I saw the bartender making up the skewer. She had the skewers on the bar (not cleaned before hand) and never washed her hands. Then she would get up go eat nachos off a friends place and continue the skewers. She also dug her bare hand into jars to get the picked, olives, etc out. Keep unkind never washing hands. Yuck! Top it off the manager/owner was a complete ass when we first got there. A little too full of himself and does not care about his customers at all. Too bad.

I am going to echo a few of my lovely lady friends: BLOODY MARY'S. They're huge, delicious and inexpensive. Legend's can be summed up as cheap, cheap drinks and standard bar food. This is not the type of place you get dressed up and go out to (you actually look pretty ridiculous if you do)...so keep your sweatpants on and play a round of Buck Hunter, girls! Legends embraces frumpy, and everyone from nearby college students to post-middle age retirees knows it!
(4)

Bloody Mary's!! Whoa! I can only echo Stepanie R's excitement about them since she introduced me to Legends. I can't help but get a craving for Legends whenever someone mentions BMs. The spices are spectacular, and I'm not normally a fan of spice, and there's practically a meal in a mug. Pickle, olive, shrimp, beef stick, and celery. And they serve real food there too. The breakfasts are large and tasty, even dare I say better than the best of Perkins.

Great variety on their menu without being totally overwhelming. It is also the first place I have seen tables with beer taps in the middle. YOU POUR YOUR OWN BEERS! I know, I know...revolutionary.

This place is the designated bar for my summer kickball league, and if last week's meet and greet Happy Hour is any indication, it's gonna make for some fun Tuesday nights. Great specials running pretty much all the time. You are almost guaranteed to get wasted and full for under $20 here. Thursday nights boast 30 cent wings after 7pm, and they are delicious. Spinach dip and tacos are also great. Tuesdays are Trivia night, and supposedly the bar is pushing back the regularly scheduled time to 8pm so that the kickballers can join in after the games are over. Service is a slight problem. There is one bartender and one server working the gigantic basement and it just doesn't cut it. Expect to wait 30 minutes for everything. Our server was apologetic and I don't blame her for the delays - schedule more people, management! Oh, and the bathrooms have no locks on the doors. WTF? Lawsuit waiting to happen.

I really like this place a lot. They have great food for reasonable prices. This is a great late night bar to hang out at too. The downstairs bar has pool, Buck Hunter, Silver Strike, a dance floor, and usually a DJ on the weekends. A University of Minnesota staple.

If you're a college kid living in Dinkytown and sick of that whole scene, try taking a short stroll over to Legends. Their prices are still cheaper than uptown or downtown and they have specials every night of the week. (If you want to take a look at those, head over to their website. They're all listed on there.) I went here for my birthday this fall for dinner and drinks with some friends and they were very accommodating to groups. they also have a patio you can play bags on if you're gettin a little antsy in your seat.

Typical American food. It's great, but that's not why you should come here. Bloody Mary's. WOW. Weekend mornings the tall bloody mary's (and by tall, I mean HUGE) are half priced at only $6. It seems a little steep, but like I said...these things are gigantic! Adorned on this spicy number is a pickle, olive, banana pepper, beef stick, celery stalk, and a shrimp. Exactly why you need not go here for the food...you'll have a meal right in your drink! Also, they are moderately spicy...but what I love is they have lots of spices floating around, implying a more homemade cocktail. You can find me here watching sports and drinking bloodies every weekend!

this review is strictly for Legends Bloody Mary's...they have the BEST Bloody Mary's in town!!! not only are the monster size, but they include a beef stick, shrimp, cheese cube and several other favorite bloody mary toppings. SO. Dang. Good!! GREAT game watching bar.

Legends has a big patio, and it is grand! This place would be perfect for anyone meeting friends, or trying to have a little work meeting/happy hour night. It seems like it would draw a good amount of civilized people who just want to chill out and have a drink and dinner. All the times I've been here (which was usually between the hours of 8-12) the place has been pretty busy. Packed with sporty people, probably enjoying time with each other after a game or something. I haven't yet been downstairs, I have no idea of what goes on down there! But upstairs, you have a big patio, patio games, a nice indoor dining spot, and pull tabs; full bar, and full menu. Legends has it down! The food is tasty, and the drinks are...well, good? The service was pretty friendly, and well kept! I was surprised how fast things would come out after we asked for them for as busy as it was. Kudos to you miss server lady!

Jess L.
I've only been out on their patio, and only during happy hour, but I've been satisfied! Happy hour boasts half price appetizers, all of which are big enough for LOTS of sharing. You can feed your whole table for about ten bucks! Drinks were reasonably priced, service was good, and the patio was a lot of fun. I'll be back!

As our kickball team sponsor, I have been to Legends twice now. For being a pretty typical sports bar, they basically let us take over the basement for taco night + flip cup, which is cool. They also do some annoying trivia on Tuesday nights, where the DJ is unintelligible through the mic and there's WAY too much time between questions... but the reward for winning is free beer, so it might (?) be worth it to listen. For $5 on Tuesdays, you can get 3 pretty large tacos + a beer, which is a relatively incredible score. Though I would definitely suggest getting them without the entire onion they place on each one. All these things considered, I don't think I would ever, ever frequent this place without it being our "official" kick ball bar... but I guess you'll be seeing me there most Tuesdays for the rest of the summer.

Legends is a fun bar. That said the Happy Hour deal is great. Otherwise the bar food choices wouldn't be a great deal. The food is typical bar food but Legends does great bar food. There is a nice selection of beers and the service is generally good. I haven't heard of any particular problems with the crowd. The clientele age range is 21 to 81. Status is Student, Blue Collar, Pink Collar Caucasian or it's like stepping in a Main Street bar in small town Minnesota. There aren't as many big screen TVs as in other Sports themed bars. Try a tall cool Nordeast on tap!

Legends has been our go to bar for the last two years. They have pretty good specials most of the week and it never seems to get TOO busy. If there isn't a spot at the bar, there is usually an open table, plus there is more room downstairs. The bartender Justin knows who we are although we stop in maybe once a month. I brought my birthday entourage here and they didn't seemed annoyed at at with all 15 of us crowding the bar. The patio seating isn't anything special because the view is kinda lame, but there is plenty of seating out there. They have typical american food, and I've always thought it was pretty decent. The service is fast and friendly and it's just generally an all around fun place to go.. if you don't mind the sorta puke smell lingering in the air.

Fun, laid-back place to go with place. Drink specials are great and food is decent.

The food is ok but if you love bloody Mary's you will love this place.

The one thing I miss about living in N.E. is Legends. I lived about 3 blocks away, and have seriously walked in horrible snow storms to get there and have a beer or two. I'm into sports, so I liked going there to watch games with friends and enjoy their INCREDIBLE waffle fries (seriously, get them). The staff eventually started to recognize my roommate and I and were always very friendly and curteous towards us. There's a lot of space and the food is very good. Definitely a good place to go have a beer, chill with the dudes, watch the game, and eat. I miss that place.

I went here almost every Sunday this summer. Their Sunday drink specials are wicked awesome as they combine all deals from the week into one powerful punch in the face. You may play bean bags during the summer which makes for entertainment on their patio. I've heard it gets a little crazy on Fridays and Saturdays, so I may have to check that out.

Looks like a Perkins turned bar, but that's alright. The drinks were priced right, the bartender friendly, and the crowd perfectly willing to ignore our drunken birthday celebration. Sorry.

Great patio, cheap drinks, fun music - an all-around fun place to hang out.

Stopped by on a Sunday during the lunch hour, but ended up ordering breakfast. The food was decent, but nothing special. I had the Legends Omelet (turkey, bacon, onions, tomatoes, and swiss cheese). I expected diced turkey, and was pleasantly surprised to find my omelet contained large chunks of pulled, oven-roasted turkey instead. Unfortunately, it was also a bit dry, and the omelet lacked kick. That said, it was the 25oz bloody mary that was the real winner here. The mix was very nice - thick, and adaquately spiced - and the salad was above average. I caught a breakfast buzz off just one of them. For $6, it's an absolute steal, and is definitely the main reason to return in the future. For what it's worth, the lunch/dinner menu is more impressive than the breakfast menu. There must be at least 20 different sandwich options, plus a large burger selection. Service was a bit slow. The waitress kept apologizing and explaining that they were busy, but it didn't appear overly crazy to me. Steady yes. Packed no. I think they were just in need of at least one more person to wait tables. Bottom line: Although breakfast was just okay, the bloody mary alone is reason enough to return. Plus, there are several things on the lunch menu I'm looking forward to try. We'll be back.

I had no idea this place existed, but I had a Diner Club Card, and basically just threw them all on the floor, picked one up, and said "We're going here!" I was not disappointed. We both had grilled chicken sandwiches- mine parmesan crusted, his buffalo. Both were really, really good. The fries and seasoned sour cream was delicious as well. They had a dill flavor to them, which was a nice change from the usual. The service was friendly enough as well. The place was clean and in a convenient location. We will definitely be back, especially since once a month we can get one meal free!

Legends has reasonable drink prices; 25-cent chicken wings, the crooning of karaoke singers downstairs, plenty of TVs for sports upstairs, one killer Bloody Mary, and, if you like Minnesota sports memorabilia, walls lined with photos of Minnesota sports legends.

I somehow wanted this slightly-off the beaten path bar to be a bit seedier or more raucous - we just found it to be a crowd of the usually aloof, insular Minnesota types. Has a good patio that looks out over the parking lot, but a good place for summer eating/drinking, so long as you're there when the traffic on Hennepin is low. We both had burgers - not so good fries - but the beer came promptly. A bit pricier than we were expecting, but definitely passable if you just so happen to be driving by...but not a destination per se.

(3)Laura E.
My friends and I are brunch regulars here. The food and drinks are plentiful and cheap, including epic Bloody Marys. Service is variable, usually on the slower side of things - but it's the weekend, why rush?
(4)Ryan F.

(4)Rich T.
Legends has a nice outdoor patio with comfortable seating and the inside identifies as the classic Americana sports bar. The food is actually quite good. The 4 stars is mostly due to the service because our server was attentive and funny. Overall, Legends is a nice neighborhood spot.
(4)Illana B.
(3)Julia Z.
(4)Tracy A.
(3)Immaculate I.
(4)Mandi O.
(3)Michael S.
(4)Bennie L.

(5)Shawn N.

(3)Lisa M.
(3)Casey N.
(5)John N.
(3)Emma S.
(4)Maxx M.

(4)Mark B.
(1)Amir S.
(4)Glenn O.
(2)Troy P.
(4)Vanessa A.
Super fast and cheap wings! Everything was really good. Looking forward to going again.
(4)Matt M.
(5)Dan S.
(3)John W.
(2)Anna G.
(4)Shelley H.
(4)Rachel C.
(5)Me N.
Too bad.
(1)Alexandra H.
(4)Lila C.
(4)Conor C.
Great variety on their menu without being totally overwhelming. It is also the first place I have seen tables with beer taps in the middle. YOU POUR YOUR OWN BEERS! I know, I know...revolutionary.
(4)Jen B.
