The sesame chicken was just gross, soggy and tasteless. The fried rice was dry and cold because it was in the warming tray way to long. I went to the one in Shoreview on Friday October 12 at 8pm. It was a waste of hard earned money.

I would not normally bother to review a fast food chain restaurant. I try to avoid them altogether. However, sometimes I am in a serious pinch for time (or just craving junky asian cuisine) and I want to avoid the McD's drive thru eat-in-your-car scenario. So I opt for Leeann Chin's. They don't use MSG or have trans fats, so it's a better choice than some. What makes this place unique is EVERY single time I go in, with SEVERAL different employees, I am greeted in a genuinely friendly manner. I am offered samples without asking. They give suggestions. They'll make something fresh for me, again without my asking. It's almost as though I am having a pleasant restaurant experience, except I'm standing in line behind a glass buffet case. This particular location obviously has a great manager. What a difference it makes!

I have watched Leeann Chin on PBS numerous times and was very excited to try her restaurant, I was very disappointed when I did. Don't get me wrong the food was ok. I was expecting authentic Chinese food, the Sesame chicken, Sweet and sour chicken are not authentic Chinese cuisine, the red cherry yogurt was the last straw! I am not going back.

Unfortunately this chain is not what it used to be. Leeann Chin was never known for it's authenticity.... And now it's just bad.

I had a voucher from Crowd Cut for a free entree combo at Leeann Chin last week, so I opted for this location on my way to work. Although it was lunch time and they were busy, the line was a manageable length and they moved it along pretty quickly. I must shamefully admit that I am stuck in a rut when it comes to Leeann chin--I order nothing but the Bourbon Chicken and Cream Cheese Puffs. I've tried it at 4 or 5 locations, and some are definitely better than others. I think this location would rank 3rd out of the 3 Minneapolis locations I've eaten it at (the others being City Center and 66th Street), but it was still good--just a few fatty pieces I could've done without. The serving size of the entree was a little smaller than I'm used to, but they did give me 3 cream cheese puffs, when I think normally I only get 2. But how can I complain too much--it was free! No hassle when it came to checking out, and they didn't try to up-sell me either by asking if I wanted a drink. I would visit this location again if I was in the area--hopefully the bourbon chicken is a little less fatty next time. If not, my next visit might be my last.

I was looking for something fast and easy. My expectations were low and I was still disappointed. The food was luke warm and flavorless. The asian noodles tasted like butter, mongolian chicken was dry and the cream cheese puffs were lacking cream cheese. I will not go back

There food is better than most fast food. There are not many healthy options, but at least it is consistent.

I have to not be lazy and finally write a review because they really deserve it. I have been here 3 or 4 times now and each time I've been blown away by the customer service. You learn not to expect it going to fast food places but each time I've been here I was greeted in a very friendly manner by employees who seemed genuinely excited and happy to serve me. Which if you eat out a lot you know is pretty rare. Anyways, I can be indecisive when I order and I never felt rushed or that I was "bothering" anyone. I opted not to order a soft drink and the employee offered me a cup for water without my even asking for it. On another occurrence, something I wanted to order was still being made and it was only going to take 5 minutes but I was offered a complimentary soft drink for the wait. It's little touches like this that makes a customer feel good and looked after. As far as the food goes it's pretty good for the price. People that complain that they're not getting "authentic" Chinese food from a CHAIN need to relax. It tastes just as good if not better than other Chinese takeaway. I've never had a bad experience with the food here. The restaurant is always super clean and bright and is a nice alternative to the usual get-you-in-get-you-out burger chain. You can have a nice relaxing meal here without any disturbance, which again, if you eat out a lot, you know that is a special thing. A+ for customer care I highly recommend this establishment :)

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
