Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

So... The story begins with a college roommate of mine bringing the sesame chicken home when he was hung over. Sadly I was as well but went the lazy route and order another, sub par, typical Chinese food. Well my roommate walked in, opened up the box and I could smell the heavenly goodness. He asked if I wanted a piece and I asked if he was stupid. I took one bite, threw the crap I had bought in the trash and drove down to get myself the same Meal. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Super nice staff and the best sesame chicken I've ever had. Truly good food and at an amazing price.

The first time here I went with a group of five other people. Not a ton of tables as it's made for takeout but they were amazingly accommodating. After the meal and the trouble we were we tipped them (probably 20%) and they were so happy with the tip they gave us two cake rolls to share! Here a second time with the boyfriend and it's even better if that's at all possible. So happy he lives next to this place cuz we are gonna frequent this place!

I had the sesame chicken, pan fried pot stickers and sugar doughnuts. The first two dishes were fine, passable Chinese food. They were what I was expecting and I are it all with no complaint but they also weren't the best I've ever had. HOWEVER do yourself a favor and get the sugar doughnuts from here. They're so delicious and soft and warm and WOW just go get some right now

Food arrived cold. Pot stickers rubbery. Pork friend rice DOES NOT have any vegetables. Pretty gross over all (and too expensive).

I just revisited Kowloon today with my wife and sons. They immediately remembered my sons and me, and also noticed that my wife was with this time as opposed to my daughter! They also remembered what we ordered 3 weeks ago! The food was prepared quickly and delivered piping hot from the kitchen. Our Vegetable Fried Rice was delayed, which was fine with us, but they still gave us a complimentary order of homemade Cinnamon Sugar Donuts that were delicious! Once again everything was above and beyond our expectations, and we are happy to add Kowloon to our limited list of restaurants that we consider a regular go to destination. Thanks to the awesome staff for making us feel so welcomed! Five Stars ***** all day long! If you are anywhere near University Ave, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not check it out.
(5)Rick L.
Ordered delivery from here while at the U of M hospital. Bought meals for four of us and we ended up with way too much food. Grubhub said it would be an hour wait and they were there in less than half of that. Good food and huge portions would use them again.

This was bad Chinese food even for Minneapolis, a city which has worse Chinese restaurants than anywhere I've ever lived or traveled. Overcooked and bland. Makes Panda House look good.

They've got awesome prices for their lunch specials. On my first visit, I ordered the General Tso's chicken. On a bed of fried rice, sizable chicken nuggets were fried and topped with general tso's sauce. Two delicious cream cheese wontons came on the side, as well. The lunch selection is limited and I chose a pretty generic dish, but for the price and the quality of the food, it was a great deal! Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. The eating area is small, but the tables were well-spaced and didn't feel intrusive. Kowloon earned a spot on my lunch list!

One of my favorite places on campus for chinese food! Their hot pots are amazing. My favorite is the seafood tofu hot pot, beef hot pot, and chicken hot pot. I always order AT LEAST one of those when I go. Their eggplant with garlic sauce is also great! It's really small restaurant so sometimes getting a seat is hard, but I am willing to wait! The manager is also super nice. She has a fantastic memory. Since I graduated, I haven't been able to come as often, but whenever I come, she always remembers me and what I love to order :) This place is definitely worth a try if you are on campus!

One of the best family style local Chinese restaurants. Conveniently located by the U of MN in Stadium Village with parking lot in front of it. The lot is small, but considering how few other restaurants in the area has any parking, this is pretty good. The restaurant is not very big, 7-8 small tables. Decor is nothing spectacular. But all the goodness is in the food n service. The food here is authentic Cantonese cuisine done right. They do also have the "American Chinese food" on the menu. But I have no idea why anyone would order them when you have all the real Chinese deliciousness available. There's a white board hanging on the wall next to the cash register with a bunch of Chinese and a bunch of numbers written on it. That is the specials and I highly recommend to try dishes on it. If you don't read Chinese, no problem, just ask. The host/waitress Amy is super nice and will be happy to help. She is so friendly and attentive. Taro duck, beef brisket hot pot, pea tip w garlic, eggplant w pork, steamed tofu with minced fish... these are some of our favorites. Great food, great service, great value. That's why we keep coming back!

Hailing from California, I've been looking for a go to Chinese place to curb my Asian food cravings and I've finally found the place! It may take a little time for service but everything is done with a smile and the staff there are friendly and try their best to be attentive. They are just incredibly busy with take out orders. We ordered the potstickers (6 in an order), Peking pork, garlic pork and kung pao chicken. The potstickers could've been wrapped with more filling but nonetheless was juicy and perfectly fried. It seemed more than just pan fried though and was rich with porky flavor. The Peking pork was different than what I'm used to buy in a good way. I'm used to each piece having a bone and sometimes being too sweet or to fatty, but this dish was made perfectly. The pieces were boneless pork strips, deep fried to perfection with just the right amount of saucy sweetness. The kung pao chicken was okay and was more wholesome than I anticipated with a lot more cut up veggies than I expected. The garlic pork had fantastic flavor and had the right amount of spice but had to much bamboo, to little pork, and a little to much oil. All in all the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The bill came out to be about $40 for a lot of food. They have a bunch of other dishes that are awesomely authentic though I have to review my Chinese reading menu skills to order those. We will definitely be back though, it's being added to the Asian food rotation!

Ordered delivery just a few days ago. Service was fast and simple although the cashier on the phone seemed a little bit in a rough they seemed nice. Got a decent amount of food that was average quality for the price.
(4)Kate S.
Haven't tried their food but there is a must try food is chicken wings. my friends and I were used to order 50 wings and their wings are magic!!!!
(4)Laurie A.
This place. This place is so terrible. I have no idea what all these positive reviews are about, but here is the rundown of my experience: Egg rolls, wontons & potstickers: Extremely over - fried and stale. I believe they must have been sitting in a bucket for 6 hours under the sink. Seafood stir fry: Everything was cooked okay except for the overcooked squid. Unfortunately it was all slathered in a gelatinous sauce that tasted like nothing, making me a little concerned as to what it was. General Tso's chicken: The breading was raw on the inside, and covered on the outside with a sweet, sticky sauce that made my teeth hurt. Not only was it bad, it was the worst Chinese delivery we've ever had. Get your food anywhere else, leave it for three days and microwave it. It will still be better.
(1)Renee S.
Yummy food! Quick service! Friendly. I ordered vegetarian take-out for lunch. I actually had two colleagues ask me in the afternoon if it was MY FOOD that they could smell in the office because it smelled so good. And...it was good! I liked this place and would most likely eat here again if I was in the area and looking for a tasty lunch!
(4)Adrienne S.
I finally found a tasty authentic restaurant in Minneapolis! We got the chicken hot plate, fried duck, tianbao, and some sort of coconut-taro drink. All delicious!
(5)Amber L.
I actually really like this place. Honk Kong noodle gets more business but I think this place is better. The customer service is fantastic. They already know the Mexican girl who orders the shrimp fried rice and I've only been there 3 times. It seems like they genuinely appreciate your business. That alone makes me want to come back.
(5)Kevin V.
The chicken chow mein was very bland and whatever the vegetable(s?) in it were not very good. The chow mein noodles are the pre-packaged dry, crunchy kind, not the fresh ones. I know this is common but it shouldn't be. The wonton soup with noodles were placed in the same container with the broth so everything was very mushy when it arrived and the broth was very bland.
(2)Alan S.
Some of the best Chinese food you'll get in the Twin Cities. There's always a good crowd and the staff is excellent. You can't go wrong.
(5)Wendy C.
Good local Chinese food, some of them is really good, like the shrimp entree. However I order the mapo tofu the other day, and this dish is suppose to be spicy, but it was sweet and not spicy at all.... and the service here is kind of slow, anyway I will still come, hope they can offer better food and better service next time.
(3)Manij S.
I absolutely love this place. In general food is very good. This is close to good quality Chinese food you find in NY or SF. Food is priced reasonably cheap. I wish they had bigger place and more tables. This place only has few tables ~4. And our is always busy. Pros: + Cheap + Good food + Shrimp balls are the best + Duck is another must try Cons - Small venue - Parking is hard around the area.
(5)J D.
Fast and friendly service. The food is delicious and affordable. Give Kowloon a try!
(4)Jeff G.
I like the Kowloon. General Tso himself would be happy with that chicken. It's crispy, which is awesome. The fried rices are good too. And the Chow Mein. Avoid the egg drop soup. They put corn in it for some reason.
(4)Claire P.
Wow, I can't believe how many positive reviews are on here. Maybe I just caught them on a bad night? I was expecting cheap Chinese food, so my standards weren't particularly high, but the food was still incredibly disappointing. My mu shu chicken was so salty it was literally inedible- I ended up throwing most of it away. They even messed up cream cheese puffs, which I thought was impossible! Never again.
(1)Sophie C.
This place is very small; there are only about five or six tables. I think the food is about the same level as Hong Kong Noodles, but Kowloon's menu is a lot smaller and also more authentic in my opinion. There is one thing that separates Kowloon and Hong Kong Noodles, and that is the service. Every time when I pay a visit there, I am always greeted friendly and very fast service as well. I also order delivery from there often as well; the speed is fast, and the food arrives hot. If there is one complaint, I would say the food is a little bit on the greasy side, and the menus is limited. Overall, it's an enjoyable experience every time.
(4)Thao P.
Great local Chinese food and customer service! I tried this place with the recommendation from a Chinese friend. I was wanting to find something new besides Hong Kong Noodles. I was immediately impressed by the great customer service from the warm and personable mnager. She was helpful and attentive to my group. I ordered the Chinese Scrambled Eggs and Shrimp entree. Wow, it was GOOD! They really knew how to cook their eggs homestyle! This hole-in-the-wall place is great and I highly recommend it!
(4)Rhonda G.
I think it's great to have a back up Chinese in the University area that's close enough to Dinkytown. I got a dinner combo. The fried rice was good, wontons ok, but I was very impressed with the egg foo yung. It was 2 decent size pieces, and in spite of no fillers in them they were delicious, mostly because they have a damn good gravy. I was able to sit against the wall, away from the other diners, which is actually funny when you see how small the place is. Wes was my server, and I got great service from him. I thought I'd try here because it's not easy to get to the coffee houses, and I like the convenient parking, which is almost impossible around the U of M.
(4)Elena P.
Greasy. Tasteless. Incredibly disappointing. The only time I've ever ordered takeout and been honestly bitter that I couldn't get my money back. It was just bad.

I came in with a Chinese friend who's eaten here before. The waitress recognized him and gave us very friendly service. Surroundings are what you would expect at a strip mall. Food was variable. I had hoped to order some congee, but there was none on the menu. Hot and sour soup was quite good, pot stickers not so much--a little tough and not that tasty. We ordered an appetizer-sized portion of char siu pork that was kind of fatty and lacking complexity. Best item I tried was beef chow fun (thick rice noodles.) They were greasy but very flavorful and the portion was huge. Kowloon was fine, but next time I am craving Cantonese while on campus, I will go back to Hong Kong Noodle House.
(3)Jerry B.
The food here is quite authentic. Their eggplant dish is one of the best in town and my favorite. However if you're planning to eat those Americanized foods such as orange chicken and those cheese wontons, I suggest going to Leanne Chin or Panda Express. But seriously, who the heck rates a Chinese restaurant by reviewing Cheese Wontons.
(4)Jennifer H.
This 5 star rating is for their chicken wings. I have ordered the 50 wings and ate all of them by myself before because they are so addicting. Crunchy, a little salty, and perfectly moist with green onions on top. No excessive sauce and I highly recommend. My friend always brings this to parties and it always is the first to go :)
(5)Jenn C.
Hidden diamond in the rough!!! Don't let tje simple exterior and interior fool u, this is some of the best service and Chinese food u can find!!! Amy always greets u with the happiest smile. They can really custom make anything and anything u get is pretty much stellar! I absolutely love their chicken lo mein because they use thin noodles. And their fried rice with fried tofu and veggies is outstanding! They make an awesome veggie stir fry and their hot pots are fantastic!

Ok, so I have ordered from this place a lot without any hiccups. This evening I put in my usual order. The new driver got lost...ok...he phoned, got directions....and an hour later I call Kowloon to cancel my order. The woman on the phone tells me that she already called and said they "weren't going to be able to make the delivery." Then the driver calls again saying that he will pay for half, though I am still curious at the monetary value of stone cold Chinese food. And so I won't be ordering from them again. Consider yourself warned.
(1)Yoshii Y.
It was decently priced nappy Chinese food. A had the general Tso's, a little sweeter then normal, but still tasty. Lunch special was $5.95 and came with 2 cream cheese puffs and white rice. Beat out by Burger King and the new Dinos (Which I really like! But was in a hurry and there wasn't any good parking) When you are hungry and need something very fast thats not 100% grease, this is not a bad choice. Btw, the exterior and interior around the windows looked a little dirty.
(3)Tina M.
I have not had anything else from their menu but keep going back for their 50 pc chicken wings. My kids love them too! Somewhat of a drive from my house. Today when I was there the 2 little kids that belonged to the owners were running around even into the kitchen area. Not too sure how safe that is. Hope they don't help with the cooking= yuck! Try the wings you will love'em!
(3)mk M.
Second time dining here its actually pretty busy the food was good priced we ate a lot
(5)Shana M.
I called before they were open and they still happily took my order. They delivered my food as soon as possible. There was some confusion in the order on my part and they fixed it in a very timely manner and were great about it.

I live and work on the U of M campus and I love Chinese food, however Kowloon does not cut it for me. I've tried many items from their menu, mainly from people in my office who have ordered from Kowloon (they are one of the few Chinese places on campus that deliver) and I have to say I have never been impressed with their food. Their orange chicken is okay, but is often very dry and needs more sauce. The pots stickers are also very dry and bland. Their cream cheese wontons are just fine; however I feel that it is hard to screw one up. Most of the dishes I have tried there are bland and dry- not worth the calories! This is not a place I would suggest to eat at, unless you are desperate for Chinese delivery while staying on the U of M Campus.
(2)Alex T.
This is my pick for the UMN's "hole in the wall" Chinese place. The menu is on a whiteboard and all the chairs and tables fit into an area the size of a large dorm room. The service was awesome; the lady who managed the place when I've been there has always been very friendly. I have tried the standard American/Chinese affair when I went there (fried rice with kung pao chicken) and I was very satisfied. Also, I went with an Asian friend once and he said that he was a fan and it was pretty authentic. It's priced reasonably well for the amount of food you get (probably will spend 6-9 bucks for lunch or dinner) and I was surprised at how good the food was for being a strip mall establishment. Although this place is not as popular as Hong Kong Noodle, the service is way better and the food is comparable. This place is a hidden gem when it comes to Asian food near campus.
(4)Adam S.
I stop in probably once a month, the service is always friend and the food is pretty good. They know my order as soon as they see me and the prices are just right. I usually get it go and eat outside, but there are tables inside. From what I gather they have off menu items and items that are authentic so you'll often see group of Asian students sampling various plates of food and sharing amongst themselves. While I've never partaked in this, they all seem to enjoy it. Not as popular as nearby places, but they do have their regulars. I'm not only person they know when I walk in, several times I'll be waiting and someone will walk in, and they'll greet them (sometimes by name) and ask "Beef and Broccoli today?" or whatever that person's preferred dish is. Their food is good, I like that it comes with won tons and not egg rolls (although most places do allow you to sub) as I dislike egg rolls. 5.25 lunch special is tough to beat.

The other day, I was stuck at my office with no car (it was at the shop), and no lunch. Knowing that pizza or Jimmy John's were both viable (albeit boring) options, I decided to see if Yelp could come up with something better. And a Chinese place that delivers was something that I was looking for. I'm Asian and I know how to play it safe. I ordered a ton because I was looking for leftovers. Here's what I got: Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice. Before tip, the whole thing cost $30. What??? Seriously? And no receipt, so I have no idea how the costs broke down. The Mongolian Beef was moderately acceptable, but had tons and tons of onions. Both white and green. The beef itself was passable as crappy but greasy - which isn't bad. The Sesame Chicken was pretty bland, but at least they didn't totally screw it up. I have some left in my fridge right now. I had the Shrimp Fried rice the next day because fried rice tends to keep well. There was a ton! But oh god it sucked. I am not picky when it comes to fried rice, but this was ridiculous. The ... taste? .... left something unpleasant in my mouth like I ate a whole serving of stir-fried phlegm burger grits. I haven't finished the sesame chicken because the horror of that fried rice still haunts me. When I told me wife, she was all ... Dude. You know better. That place HAD to suck. So yeah. I'm NOT coming back. But I gave it an extra star for feeding me on a day when I had no car and there were below zero temps outside.
(2)Zoe P.
We were staying at the Radisson and needed room service. After a traumatic experience with an Applebee's salad that tasted like a can of cold baked beans with shrimp (think about it), we thought we'd risk it with the local Chinese delivery. The $20 minimum is a little steep, but the soups, the crunchy vegetables (as in fresh and crunchy, not fried and crunchy) and a couple of egg rolls were well worth it. This food was ridiculously hot, which is a good thing, and flavorful. And they were very fast.
(4)Madelyn S.
Ehhhh... The decor is what you would expect from a strip mall Chinese take-out place...you know, tile floor, Chinese soaps playing on tv, view straight into the kitchen. Fried rice had no veggies in it. This seems to vary from place to place, but I like at least a few tiny hunks of carrots or peas. The sesame chicken had a little heat to it, but was definitely forgettable. The cream cheese wontons were not crispy at all. Wha?!? Overall, just not exciting in the least. I could list 5 better asian-cuisine spots within a mile radius. Walk your tooshie to one of those.
(2)Dane S.
Kowloon sits in the odd strip mall on campus with the smallest parking lot in strip mall history. It's been staffed by the same couple every time I've gone. Their menu is extensive, but the prices are why I keep coming back. A combo platter comes with an entree, rice, and 3 won-tons. from noon-3 its 5.25, and after 3 its 7.25. Mmm, cheap. The amount of food is large, and usually prepared well. Give it a try if you are thinking village wok, you may be surprised!

Waking up on New Years day is a miserable reminder of what a great time you had the night before, a reminder that at times can last to the dinner hour. Car headlights, the sound of the city, and the cold can shift from tolerances to enemies. It is at this time he who delivers morphs from dude with a 95 Cavalier and prom garter hanging from his rear view to Godlike savior dropping bags of Thanksgiving form a National Guard chopper. I needed delivery and I wanted Asian food, thanks to yelp I found a few places that would deliver to NE. Pagoda was my first choice but I found out that they want a massive base delivery fee of $7, I quit wasting my time trying to decide if this was very American or very unAmerican and moved on to the next place which was Kowloon. They wanted a reasonable $2 to deliver with a reasonable $20 min. Sure you might not be able to eat the mountains of noodles $20 of Chinese food equates to but what better leftover food is there aside from pizza? I ended up getting Chicken Lomein, Chicken Chow Fun, and some Chicken Wings (I like chicken) and they said it would be about 30mins. I didnt clock them since I was doing something very important (playing Battlefield:Vietnam) but they arrived faster than expected. Noodle dishes are hard to screw up and thankfully they didn't at all, I honestly enjoyed both the Lomein and the Chow Fun all cravings aside. The wings were okay but nothing terribly special. Good food, reasonable fees, fast service, means I'll definitely make Kowloon my staple for Asian delivery from here on out. I found a link to their Menu here, not sure how up to date it is. menupix.com/menupdf/Kowl…

It's on Washington Ave in the same little strip mall as the Burger King. I've only ever had the lunch special, which has been unmemorable but is somwhere around $5, and for the amount of food they give you, will really ensure that you are not hungry when you're done. Plus, the sauce on the sesame chicken has a good flavor to it. They have some seating inside the restaurant, however, I've only ever been for take-out. They also advertise some insane number of chicken wings for some good price on their window facing Washington Ave. If that's your sort of thing, you might like this place.

I have eaten in this simple, cozy Chinese eatery twice in the past week.I enjoyed their fine food at very reasonable prices.I had a generous portion of Kung Pao Chicken with Chicken Fried Rice and two Cheese Wantons for $7.50.This Chinese eatery is very popular with Oriental people in the Twin Cities and the University of Minnesota community.
(5)WK L.
Another special, a must-try, is the taro duck! It's pretty much half a duck (or maybe whole?) made in a special brown sauce overlaying on thick pieces of taro. The combination is tasty and the meat is generally pretty tender.

I was recently in Minneapolis and out really late. Needless to say if you know of this place I was out of luck as it was closed like many Chinese food delivery places late night in Minne. I was forced to opt for hotel food which actually wasn't bad but I love some late night crab rangoons and now Kowloon was the elusive event planned for the next evening. Fortunately a friend was traveling with me so the $20 minimum order needed to make delivery happen was no problem. Before I give you our order let me preface this by saying we were two very hungry strapping young lads and were not expecting to eat all of it as it was on the company dime. So here is what we ordered with a briefing of each. Pot Stickers (6) - Very tender and meaty. It was served with a red sweet and sour dipping sauce which was a little weird and very very thin. Overall they were good but the sauce was, well, dumb. Egg Roll w/Roasted Pork (2) - I do enjoy when a restaurant gives you an option whether its delivery or not. I greatly appreciate accommodating service. The wantons were fluffy and flaky and not too fried. They were great. Wonton Soup - It was your typical wonton soup fare. It tasted much like Campbells wonton but with some fresh wrappers used in the broth. I even pulled aside a little section of the pork and it was actually tasty on its own. Black Bean Chicken, Hong Kong Style - I am a sucker for Hong Kong anything. Give me the markets, the lights, fast pace, and yummy yummy spice. It was described on the menu as "...succulent..." I concur. Bean Curd w/Shrimp in Szechuan Sauce (extra spicy) - I told them I needed a plate that was seriously spicy and would light me on fire. Unfortunately like most Chinese or Asian delivery joints they think that means fill the carton full of spicy chili sauce. That just doesn't cut it folks. I like flavor and spice. Overall I was happy and would definitely eat there again anytime, especially as late as they will deliver. The order was taken prompt and correctly and was delivered the same way. Using a credit card was simple which was also a delight.

I am a regular at this place. It is awesome with good customer service! Amy knows everyone by name and remembers what they like. I looked at the other two star reviews but take a look who is giving the review (I need not say more if you can't figure it out). THey are the same kind of people like the China Buffets and put soy sauce on white rice and stick the chopsticks strait up in the rice! Plus they order stupid dishes that are not good or meant for delivery and then complain...duh??? Anyway, there is the basic Chinese-American menu for those who PUT Soy Sauce on White Rice! And you can order the traditional Chinese dishes which are real good depending on what you order. They are always consistent with their food quality. Like any good Chinese restaurant, some dishes are good at that one and some aren't. It's not like we have Chinatown in NYC or San Fran! But they do a good job and with special requests that aren't on the menu; you just have to ask.
(5)Michael S.
Definitely my most visited places every week for Chinese food around campus. Food and service is good. But my order is usually just among couple of dishes. If they do have more good choices, I will give a Five for sure.
(4)Yingwei F.
The food is 4star, but the boss there adds up to full score. Typical Hongkong style cooking. the cashier(also the order taker) is really nice to her customers. i feel welcome there. I recommend the shrimp ball with tofu pot. beef pot is also an excellent choice! I like the pot there a lot
(5)Julio D.
Hands down the best Chinese restaurant on East Bank. Every other Chinese restaurant I get bad to mediocre service and food, but here the food is cheaper, better, and the staff is joyful and friendly. I won't be going to any other one except this one.
(5)Charles C.
My main complaint here isn't the taste of the food, but the dishonesty of the people running this place. I'm confident that pieces of duck were taken away before I was given my order, Barbequed Roast Duck (Half). Coming from New York, I know what a portion of half a duck looks like. The number of pieces that I got was much less. This place is soooo shadddy. They probably used my missing pieces for another order. This was the first restaurant I went to when I first arrived in MN and I was sorely disappointed. I won't be coming back to this one again.

I ordered takeout here for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. I walked inside to order and I saw that the prices are very good. I got the General Tso's chicken dinner plate - it comes with Fried Rice and an egg roll OR 2 wontons (About $8 for all this!) I got the egg roll but also ordered an appetizer of cream cheese wontons to go. I waited inside for the food and it was ready in 5 minutes. The fried rice was some of the best I have eaten - it was sweet and had pieces of ginger in it - very unique! Yes the place is tiny, but the service is awesome and super fast and it's a very friendly little joint. It's my go-to place for Chinese food on campus. Especially good for takeout on your way home.

Good food for cheap prices. The lunch deal is quite generous and comes with fried rice, entree, and side item. I like the little chicken pieces in the fried rice and sweet sauce they use for their sesame chicken. Their chicken wings are dirt cheap because they use chicken that was miscut or weirdly shaped. I probably wouldn't go here for a special occasion or group dinner though...better for a quick lunch to go. Love: any of their lunch specials with the chicken rice Loathe: cheese wontons and egg rolls - not the best! might as well be put under the fried frozen food category!

One of my favorite places on campus for authentic Chinese food, tyro root with duck, soy sauce chicken, shrimp all tofu stew and beef hot pot are all my favorites and must-order for any get togethers!
