I've never written a yelp review, but here goes. This place was such a let down, it must be done. It's not that the food was bad -- with exception to the ghee-soaked roti roll-up, the innards of their Indurrito were tasty. Nothing mind-blowing here -- tikka chicken, cabbage slaw, maybe some chana -- but good. What was disappointing, almost laughably so, was the portion of food for the price. Weighing in at just a hair above a half pound and smaller than the size of a hot pocket, there is no way the Indurrito (at least the one I received last night) is worth anywhere near $9. When it was handed to me by the indurrito-artist, I couldn't help but chuckle. I would not have accepted it (which I've never actually done), but I was hungry and in a hurry. Later, once fully consumed, I did a little quick math and realized I was paying just less than a dollar per bite. Sorry, Hot Indian, you may have a popular food truck, but nothing on your menu can possibly be THAT good. And this, in general, has been my experience with otherwise great food trucks making the transition to brick-and-mortar locations. It seems the combination of rave success as a food truck with the new requirement to cut a profit from a much higher-overhead operation can lead to cutting corners, brutal pricing, and lackluster results. First Smack Shack, then WSK uptown, followed by Chef Shack Ranch, and now Hot Indian. I'll take the food truck over the brick-and-mortar spot any day.

Fries were fantastic, but the indurritos left a lot to be desired. The lamb had very little taste, and the spinach paneer did not taste much like a curry. We tried via Groupon which made it affordable - normal price is $10 for a small burrito.

I can't remember the last time I've been angry about paying for a meal-- but I left feeling cheated. The portion size was absurdly small, the food cold and overpriced, and the taste less than sub par. Usually I'm willing to pay a little more for a good meal, and I'm generally delighted with the MPLS food scene. But this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I will not be returning, and sincerely encouraging others to do the same.

Next time you find yourself wandering the vibrant isles of Midtown Global Market in a quest to devour some mouth-watering bites, consider dropping by Hot Indian Foods. I've never really been a fan of anything fusion, until I tasted Mexi-rean for the first time in San Francisco. So when I heard and read about Hot Indian Foods, I was very intrigued. To find this eatery, it's best to 1) enter through the east side of the market or 2) attentively look for the immaculate mural composed of Bollywood movie posters. (Thanks, Johanna V.) Once you arrive, you'll find a simple menu with some unique eats. If you're going to take anything away from this review, a must is to order a side of Indi Frites. It's described as "Indian seasoned russet and sweet potato fries in a crispy batter served with mango pickle aioli." But really, all you need to know is that they're awesome fries with an incredible kick. You can also shamefully dip them into a mayo-based sauced. I also ordered their Lmab Induritto, which is "filled with dry rubbed lamb leg slow braised to tender strands mixed with our juicy channa masala." So here's the thing: people have polarized opinions regarding their Indurritos. On one hand, some people might be put off by the succulet meats paired with crunchy apple (not mentioned in the description). I liked the uniqueness and combination of flavors, but I know other people that had trouble putting it down. (It's kind of like how people feel about cilantro.) Nonetheless, try it for yourself, and make your own judgment. To wash everything down, I tried two of their sodas. One is called Thums (yes, no "b") and another is called Limca. They essentially taste like sprite and coke, respectively. Service: Fast and friendly! Overall, I would totally return!

How did I live without his for so long?!? Indian food + burrito = Indurrito (mind blown). EVERYTHING on their menu is amazing. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. There is something for everyone at this spot, from the meat eaters to the vegetarians and regardless of what you get expect some amazing flavors to hit your taste buds. For those wanting to try it all I would suggest going down the route of getting the Hi flight ( 3 mini indurritos, which are taco sized) and if you add a few bucks more you get a side of indi frites (blows the typical french fries outta the water) and potentially a drink (might have to double check on that part). Regardless of which route you go (indurrito or hi flight) you will want to keep on coming back to try it all. Luckily for you it's easier to get in your cravings. They recently opened up a spot in the Midtown Global Market, so now you don't have to worry about trying to stalk the food truck (don't worry you can still find the food trucks parked at random events and at your favorite brewery once in a while). The staff is amazing and the service is quick. After thinking and writing about the food, I'm craving me some Hot Indian! If you require it hotter than normal (which I tend to get) then just make sure and let them know to make extra hot. For all your dancers or dancers in training, don't forget to buss a Bollywood dance move or two to get a $1 off your meal.

I was so excited to see an Indian place in the market. I ordered a vegetarian induritto with frites. The induritto was soggy, the wrap greasy, the coleslaw inside was the best part. The frites were heavy, breaded, and served with seasoned mayo. If things were a bit lighter and fresher it could've worked for me. The staff however were helpful, suggestive, and so so nice.

Yum!! This was one of the best Indian rice bowls I have ever had! I love Midtown Global Market anyways, but this is yet another reason to be a fan. My wife had the Indurrito, which she said was good, but that she would stick to a rice bowl next time. And you better believe there will be a next time!

Okay, sort of. I had the chicken tikka. The chicken was dried out. The sauce was okay but did not really taste like Indian food I've had elsewhere. The coleslaw they put on top was just out of place and bland. Is this their way of making Indian food 'safe' for mid-westerners? I've certainly had enough of this so-called fusion cooking, which is mostly young cooks who don't really know what they're doing and too many are just mimicking what they see on current foodie shows on the idiot box. Thank god they didn't add bacon or a fried egg on top. Better than McDonald's but there are better choices in the Midtown Market.

I really liked lunch here! H and I shared a HI flight and 2 samosas. The flight consists of 3 mini burritos of your choice (think tacos). We opted for the lamb, the paneer and the channa ones. All topped with cilantro, shredded cabbage and hot sauce. The lamb one was filled with a delicious lamb stew. The paneer one had springy cubes of paneer and creamy spinach. The channa one was vegan and very cinnamony, almost sweet. All were good and mildly spicy (at most I'd call them Midwest spicy), but my favorite was the paneer one. The lamb came in second and the channa was too sweet for me. For the samosas we got the sloppy joeshi and the vegetarian one. They were both fired to order to a perfectly crispy, golden, flaky and not greasy crust. Filling was the right amount and very distinct. The lamb one was a tomato/minced mildly spicy lamb sauce that went great with the green dipping sauce and the vegetarian one was filled with steamed sweet corn and peas. Both great bites, in no small part thanks to the delicious wrap. Will be back for sure!

Food is just ok but people were really nice and they have great groupon deal. We had Spinach Paneer Indurrito, Aloo gobi Indurrito and Samosas. Spinach Paneer Indurrito and Aloo gobi Indurrito were between ok and good. Samosas were not good at all. They put lot of different vegetables in it like corn doesn't belong in samosa. Good samosa doesn't need any fancy stuffing, only potatoes, but it should be cooked very well. Unfortunately that was lacking. Location is Midtown global market. I don't think area is that nice, its not far from shady part of the town. Midtown global market has small shops from different countries. Good thing is you might see something which you like and didn't thought of. If you are in mood of trying lot of different food and doesn't have much money to spare, this is the place. I was surprised to find this restaurant in place of an old fav of mine one day. I figured I give it a try. Afterall, the concept was described a sign with a photo of Mindy Kaling + burritos = delicious indurritos! The process is all pretty quick, either get a induritto or bowl. We ordered the Spinach Paneer Indurrito, Vegan Aloo Gobi Indurrito, with the house special of 1 chicken and 1 vegetable samosas, and Indi Frites. The Vegan Aloo Gobi was my favorite Indurrito, because the flavors were amazing. There are potatoes, cauliflower, yellow squash and cabbage with some type of red curry sauces. The Indurritos are expensive ($9), but I only ate half, so I did get 2 meals out of it. I would never order something here without the Indi Frites! They are crispy on the outside, yet soft in the middle. The frites are mixed with some Indian spices, but it's the sauce that makes them rise to the next level! Not sure what it is, but get extra! *If you do an Indian inspired dance, you will get $1 off your order! Also, I Yelp had a instant buy $5, but get $10 to spend instantly coupon.

Hot Indian is basically perfection wrapped in a piece of roti. I have stopped by their food truck twice before (a yelp elite event and the pride beer dabbler) and I absolutely loved their clever indurrito. They take freshly seasoned curries with basmati rice, add a tangy cabbage slaw, and wrap it all in roti. It captures all the neccessay flavors of Indian curries in one perfect-sized burrito package. Their booth at the Midtown Global Market is colorful and splashed with fun images of their female mascot. It even includes a wall mural of the food truck made up of Bollywood movie posters. Definitely drop any hesitance and check this place out!

Two Thums up. Very tasty indurritos. Great indian fast food concept. Yes the price point is slightly high but no higher than nearby Sonora grill. I think the chicken tikka masala (without slaw) and spinach paneer (with slaw) are the best options. If you like spice get hot sauce on it as it seems to be spiced down a little for local tastes. Nice to have a Thums Up or Limca soda with.

I thought my Indian burrito flight tasted great, but it was impossible to pick up because it was served in a lake of meat juice. I'd be more likely to call it a soft taco since they were not wrapped like a burrito.

While I love fusion cooking this spot just fails on so many levels. They basically take American food, with a little Indian flair and stick it into a burrito. I was very excited to try the Indoburrito (or whatever they call it) but was disappointed. The lamb was dry and tasted more like generic "ethnic" food than anything from India. Moreover, the only topping in this burrito was a slaw. This slaw had so many ingredients in its description and yet none of them could actually be tasted in the final product. To me a "burrito" is a form of serving many ingredients in a handheld easy to walk with way. Two odd ingredients in a tortilla that quickly turned gelatinous was unfortunate. On top of all of that, this burrito (less than half the size of Chipotle) set me back $10 plus tax. While they have some decent marketing materials cultivating an alternative vibe, I would head down the hall to Los Ocampos, or virtually any other place in the global market.

So much to love about this: the indurritos are filling and tasty (I had the chicken tikka - generous serving of chicken in curry and a slaw with pineapple wrapped in a roti), the indi frites are delicious, the samosas are creative and tasty, the employees are friendly. But everything is SO. SLOW. It's set up to look like a chipotle, but both times I've been it has not been busy (one order ahead of me, two employees working) and it's taken over fifteen minutes from when I walked up to walking away.. What on earth could take so long? The first time I wrote it off to being new, but this time...yeesh. Bad design. Also... While the induritto is tasty, $9 is a lot. I'd gladly take some yellow rice or chickpeas in lieu of some of the meat in there for a lower price. Wouldn't say no to some raita around somewhere either... Just saying. Anyway... I really do love their food, but the wait is just too much. Probably going to go for my old standard (huarache at Los Oocampos) next time, honestly.

Good truck food in one location. I've never had a bad meal, the spice can be a little hot but as long as I keep it to the side and just dip at it when I want it, the food is fantastic.

I don't get the hate... this place is incredible! Good flavors, unique, and very filling (unless you think Chipotle has small portions, I suppose). Huge bonus being next to East Lake Brewery... goes very well with the Slop City Rye Stout.

Located inside the Midtown Global market, this unassuming joint gives off the vibe of "new modern fun take on traditional cuisine." I am not aware of what the food truck is like, so I didn't have any preconceived notions of what this place is as a truck, and what it is now. As I was walking through the market looking at the various menus, I settled upon this place. I was looking for a light snack, but ended up getting a mini Indurrito and samosas. For a mini Indurrito, it was still quite a good size. The samosas consisted of two pieces, each a longish flat equilateral triangle (Standard samosas are more of a 3d entity, kind of pyramidal in shape. Don't strain your brain trying to remember geometric shapes) Flavorwise, they had good clean flavors with some hints of Indian cuisine. It wasn't fully authentic, and the flavors weren't as richly developed as standard Indian fare. But it was definitely still good. The Indurrito had some kind of slaw that wasn't seasoned very well, but I did not mind. At least it helps me think I'm eating something healthy.

Really loved the indi frites and lamb indurrito! The fries were perfectly fried and came with an awesome fry sauce (not sure what the ingredients are but it was delish). I have had Indian fast food at other places in NYC before that have a greasy wrap but this one was great. The mango toppings were a nice touch too.

I'd been craving dosas like mad lately. Yelped, found this place... decided to try them out. Oh boy. Where to start? I ordered the chicken "Indurrito", and my husband ordered the Spinach Paneer one. They were both extremely small for the price, with only a tiny scoop of actual filling on each - the bulk of the small "indurritos" were a weird coleslaw. The coleslaw kind of worked on the chicken one, but rendered the spinach paneer one all but inedible. The fillings were incredibly watery, really should have been simmered down further. They were served up in paper towels, and the water (water, not actual sauce!) was pouring out all over the table. It was really bad. I had ordered mine "spicy", after seeing a review that had mentioned it not having any spice at all if you don't. I had assumed that meant they had a spicy version of the filling on hand - nope, they just loaded it with a generic hot sauce, which totally killed the taste of the curry. It basically just tasted like hot sauce, was NOT coherent with the rest of the "indurrito". My husband gave up on his about halfway through - it didn't taste good, and it was an absolute disaster to try and eat. I pushed through to 2/3 - and this was when we were FAMISHED, and we're talking small portions here. It just wasn't worth the mess or effort to finish... even at that price. We left feeling let down and ripped off. As for the service, I was a bit put off by the outright request / being put on the spot for a tip. This was counter service, and not particularly good service. Won't be going back.

This pains me to give a rare one star to an assumed labor of love but wow did this food taste terrible! We had all three flavors, lamb, chicken and paneer of the indoburrito and they were all disgusting. I think there are apples in them and they clash horribly with the Classic Indian flavors. I could not even finish my plate and for the last insult my husband and I were wasted GI wise the next morning. What a colossal bummer for a place I expected to love.

The Indurrito had some kind of slaw that wasn't seasoned very well, but I did not mind. At least it helps me think I'm eating something healthy.

The host was great with explanations and gave me a fabulous Indurrito of lamb and spinach paneer. Spicy and flavorful. Looking forward to eating there again. And the Midtown Global Market setting is always a positive.
