How has no one mentioned the bluegrass music? ! Hands down the best thing about Dulono's s the live bluegrass music. Its just completes the ambiance. In short: Pizza: delish. Beer: well, its beer. Music: Iove it. I know most people aren't that into bluegrass, but I am telling you there is something oddly sexy about watching a man strum a bass while you are drinking cheap beer. And if that doesn't float your ship, all the men in Uniform surly will (it IS true, the police love Dulano's) Bottom Line: Its almost impossible to get a table on a Friday or Saturday night, especially for a group, but it is totally worth it. The pizza, the beer and the men = totally yummy

Dulono's is soooo good!! There is a reason it has been here for 8 million years, they just do it so well. That's not to say that you will be wowed by a world class dining experience, because you won't. Just look at the building!! But if you want a good solid pizza or spaghetti, look no further. I am personally of the belief that if cops like it, it must be good. They cruise around and eat out every day!!

When I was growing up, there was a place in the back of my mind. A place I knew existed out there in the world somewhere, but I couldn't quite specify what would make that place so perfect. The Dulono's people must have been scanning my dreams. A place with red vinyl, cheap Newcastle pitchers, and some downright spectacular thin crust pizza. A place with country music memorabilia and wildlife prints on the walls. A place that is reminiscent of the stripmall pizza houses I went to as a child, but with a grownup, urban, best kept secret, kind of twist. A place where they may not know my name, but they're willing to learn my Usual. A place where on an icy Minnesota winter weekend night I can huddle under the warming glow of live bluegrass on stage, and not have any windows above me to remind me of the elements outside. This is the safe place I would retreat to throughout my formative years, and now here it is, right down on Lake Street.

The best late-night pizza! I never used to like thin-crust, but Dulono's is just perfect -- crispy, perfect amount of sauce, and nice little spicy "zing" to it. Our pizza often arrives a bit on the "cool" side, but we are at the very edge of the delivery area, so I'm not going to fault Dulono's for that... I'm just happy they deliver to us!

Dulano's is the most fabulous, thin-crust pizza on the planet! I never liked thin-crust pizza much, until I tried Dulano's. Now, I'm a dedicated thin-crust pizza fan. My favorite Dulano's pizza is topped with garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, capers, onions, green olives, ground beef, and crispy bacon bits. This type of pizza, is a delight, for an omnivore like me! They put just enough Mozzarella cheese on their pizzas, to melt nicely with, but not smother, the other toppings. Their tomato sauce is used sparingly. It tastes sharp, yet flavorful, without being too acidic. Of course, their pizzas have crusts to-die-for! That's what really separates Dulano's pizza from their competitors. It's light, almost cracker-thin, yet holds-up well under a mound of toppings. And it manages to be both crisp, and satisfyingly chewy. I live in California now, and deeply miss Dulano's. For those still living in the Twin Cities, who like thin-crust pizza, Dulano's is the best in town!

Best Pizza in Minneapolis. And they deliver late as hell. They even have live bluegrass on either Wednesday or Thursday, I cant remember. The house special, which is a meaty, spicy concoction of sausage, pepperoni, various cheeses, green olives and other goodies, is hands down the best pizza available this side of Jersey.

This no frills pizza place has been a part of Uptown for longer than I can remember. Rumor has it Bob Dylan actually refers to it in one of his songs. Nevertheless Dulono's is great for two reasons (1) its open late, and (2) it has the best flat crust pizza around. Insiders note: don't worry about the 50 cop cars in the parking lot - it is a police hangout. Insiders note II: get the pepperoni pizza. It's spicy

The supreme pizza here is good, its got pepperocinis and pinneaple amongst many other things. Only had takeout/ delivery but I heard the bluegrass really gets lickin here.

The pizza here was amazing! The atmosphere is more similar to a dive bar but it is nice they have live music and a pool table. We ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and Ghost Pepper Hellfire Pizza. The Chicken Bacon Ranch was pretty good with the ranch sauce, which made it different. I am not good with spicy food much and I loved the Ghost Pepper Hellfire Pizza. It had just enough of a kick but wasn't over the top. I would definitely go back for that pizza! They are a little more expensive (similar to Luce or Galactic) so I wouldn't come here too often but it was a good, casual location with pizza that was very good, especially the specialty pizzas.

Since moving to Minneapolis recently, I have had the pleasure of partaking in Duolono's buffet. The buffet is incredibly well priced , includes a bev, impeccably well-stocked with a variety of pizza flavor offerings up to and even after the technical end time with pasta marinara, salad, garlic bread, sub sandwich, and blondies. At time of writing, there were 5 different pizza options, including an all vegetable for the vegetarian folks, to satisfy all palates with a variety of sauces all on Dulono's perfect thin crust. One pizza had a barbecue sauce which was sweet and saucy topped with chicken. Unlike most pizza where the crust gets left on the plate like the proverbial red-headed step-child, the characteristic Dulono's crust has a nice crispness with air bubbles that pop while chewing giving it an additional unique texture experience. The garlic bread is remarkable with a loaded flavor of garlic and possibly crack as I had to force myself to stop at 2 pieces to save room for the feature presentation (pizza) when I could've easily ate half the pan by myself. The salad bar is fresh with very nice presentation and 6 different dressing options. An added, unexpected treat was the sub sandwiches. This is the first pizza buffet I've ever been too that offers a sandwich of any kind and its outstanding. To sum it up, you can't go wrong with the Dulono's buffet because "You know you want it"!

The pizza is good but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The order took a ton of time to place over the phone - it sounded like the person placing the order wasn't paying attention and we had to recite the credit card number multiple times, which isn't really great for peace of mind. We ordered the Loaded Jojos and they came with absolutely no cheese on them. When we called we were told the options were they could bring over a cup of cheese or nothing. The chips were already cold and the excessive amount of jalapeños had already soaked in, leaving an unpleasant taste. When we said the potatoes were already cold and could we just get a refund we were told no. When you screw up an order that badly, you should either offer to replace it entirely or refund it. A cup of cheese that would be half-solid and cold by the time it got here wouldn't solve it. I'm very disappointed.

Nope Sorry ordered from here earlier this week and it was disgusting. From the moment the Dulono's driver handed me our pizza I knew it was going to be bad. To start it smelled like a 14 year old boy that just got done with Gym Class. The Pizza wasn't cooked all the way I ended up having to put the pizza on my Pizza Maker to cook it correctly which took forever because they had so many toppings on the Pizza you couldn't even see the cheese. Worst Pizza mistake I've ever made. I'll stick to Galactic from now on.

Dulano's is flawless And I refuse to believe that The new manager (Jerad G.) sounds ridiculous in his responses to Yelpers All one and two star reviewers on this page are wrong It is foolish to think that Dulano's is not the best pizzeria on the face of earth * Read my review in reverse. I had to write it in code, after I saw the manager's comments on other Yelpers' negative feedback! But all jokes aside, Dulano's is good. I like the new improved interior. The pizza hasn't changed much and the appetizers arrived quickly.

So I've come here on and off for years, but more off than on because I haven't always lived close by. Well I hope the crew digs me because I have bad news for them. I now love in the hood and they have decent beer on tap. I've no doubt I'll be a regular in no time. I shouldn't tell you this because I don't want my best kept secret in Lyn Lake to become a tourist attraction but I'm going to trust you to only give super awesome, deal deservin, pizza lovin, fat tippin folks this important detail. All. The. Beer. Is. 2. For. 1. Always. If they are open, that's the deal. Bottle, can, and tap. And their tap selection, while not mind blowing, is solid. The only mainstream pilsner is Mich. Golden Lt. Everything else is craft, local, or both. Oh and they have a parking lot. Not a lot of places nearby do. And they deliver to pretty much the entire southwest area of Mpls. And if all that isn't enough, their pizza is delicious. And the garlic cheese bread.

My wife and I had a Living Social for a large pizza, an appetizer, and two beers. I started off with an Odell's Isolation Ale.A winter warmer, which is quite good. I wanted to sub a salad for the appetizer but the system wouldn't run it, so I went with the breaded cauliflower. They came out about 5 minutes later. They were pretty awesome, not super flavorful, but a solid bar appetizer. The pizza came out with my second beer, a Surly Furious. Heaven! The pizza I got was the ghost pepper pizza with no cheese except for a litte ghost pepper cheese. The chicken and other toppings were top notch on a perfect crispy thin crust with a spicy special sauce. Awesome! I finished off half the pizza and our fantastic server brought me an extra Isolation beer because the furious took a long time to get there. The atmosphere was a wonderful 1957 feel from the year they opened in Uptown. They also had a lunch buffet going on, which many of the patrons were partaking in. Loved the pizza, the beer, and the service. Almost a 5 star!

A couple weeks ago, I tried their pizza for the first time. I ordered delivery on their website. This place won me over as a customer. I am happy with how everything turned out at the end. The website was easy to find and easy to access. Everything on there was easy to understand. I was able to complete my order in about five minutes. I like that there is a good selection from which to choose. I also like that there is an option to type in any special requests I may have. The delivery guy was good at meeting those special requests I had. I ordered the meat lovers pizza. The order came to me about the same time as they originally predicted. The pizza was delicious, and it came to me fresh and hot. The delivery guy was personal and friendly. Anytime I am in the mood for a good pizza delivered to my house, I will continue to keep this place in mind. One of these days, I will have to check out the inside of the place.

Solid pizza, crust was floppy but toppings seemed to be quality. Would recommend if mediocre pizza is your thing.

I really wanted to like this pizza place! I just wanted a good to great pepperoni pizza. Nothing fancy! Delivery took over an hour. The pizza arrived cold. The sauce is salty, awful and had the same look as tomato paste. I really expected more for what it's priced at. EDIT: Amended the review from one star to two, because I called and spoke with a manager who was willing to send out a hot pizza. I still don't think we'll order again, though. :(

Excellent neighborhood pizza bar. Really crispy thin crust! Nice pizza and appetizer options! Seems busy there all the time when I go. Live music at night. Two for ones all day!

It's been decades since I last went to Dulano's, and it might be decades again. I went for their lunch buffet. They had just raised the price, and didn't tell me. What would have been okay at $7.99 was overpriced at $9.99. In theory, the lunch buffet now comes with a drink, but the neither the hostess nor the water bothered to mention that to me so I didn't order one and despite the web site having the old price, they charged me the new price (and included a drink on the tab). For the first time in ages, I didn't leave a tip. The buffet itself was okay: an ever changing array of below-average pizza, some other Italian stuff and a small salad bar. The staff was attentive, if not helpful about the new pricing; regulars I talked to were surprised as well. Still, a three star review gets bumped down to a two star review for the lack of communication. What else aren't they telling us?

Super delicious pizza!! Probably the best in the area. Way better than those hoity toity guys up the street (you know who I'm talking about!). If you get delivery and Jordan is your driver, give him extra. He's fantastic.

First time at this place and it took over an hour to get 3 appetizers. They brought them out 1 at a time when our wings came out they were ice cold, they had been sitting on the ledge for at least 10 minutes before they brought them to our table I even said to my girlfriend that I bet those are ours and sure enough they were. It took them 45 minutes to refill my coke and we sat at the table facing the bar so it wasn't like we were far away. I'm very disappointed because I was told this was s good place to eat. The live band was cool but service and customer service was extremely poor!

  • Ted K.

Comfortable, tasty pizza, cold beer, and the very friendly waitress got pizza w/o meat for the buffet for me. Awesome. It'd be five stars if the buffet price included a discount for beer (soft drinks are included). Then again, it was two-for-one beer, so maybe it SHOULD be five stars, who knows.

Worst customer service experience ever!! Safe to say I've been ordering food there over 8 years. The pizza was always great until yesterday. The thin crust was hardly considered that and there was unmentioned bacon in a fried broccoli meal I ordered that I didn't see until I bit into it, which isn't a fun surprise for someone who can't eat pork. When I called to get help I couldn't even finish talking before I was cut off and told it was pretty much my fault. The "assistant manager" Richard couldn't have been any less rude in helping me resolve the matter(by the way which he didn't) and gave many snarky remarks in between, didn't even apologize. Basically said he couldn't do anything and hope for the best with working it out with the general manager. I will never recommend this place to any of my friends ever again

I had Duluno's today for the 1st time. The lunch buffet ends at 1:30 and I got there at 1:00. Pizza was picked over and not warm enough. The wait staff only asked large tables if they wanted more pizza not the tables of 1 or 2. They did get out 1 hot pizza before I left that was demolished by hungry customers... the pizza was tasty but at $9.99 I expect more. The wait staff was friendly but seemed more worried about wasting pizza then pleasing a few late arriving customers.

I took my family to Dulono's in on a Saturday in July after a day at the St. Louis Park water park. The kids played videos, we listened to the live band and we had a great time. Food was great, we had cheese bread and the hawiian pizza. Red sauce is awesome at Dulono's if you like good red sauce. If you want a place to go that the kids can be entertained and has great food I would give Dulono's a try.

Lived in the neighborhood for 14 years and these guys are the go-to for pizza night. I'd rather pay $5 more than order a dominos or papa johns. Always hot, always fresh. We make it a point to order anytime we have the family in town and everyone loves them. The amount of cheese makes any Scony feel right at home and they have a slightly spicy pepperoni that I have yet to find a comparison to. Can't say enough good things about them.

  • Allison F.

Two stars because of the environment and service. You're supposed to seat yourself but there's no signage indicating that, so you just walk in and get stared at awkwardly until you assume you should sit somewhere and hope a server notices you're there. The dining room is pretty dumpy and gross. Most of the servers walking around looked super negative which made it seem like the customers were a bother. HOWEVER, the pepperoni pizza was absolutely delicious. DELICIOUS. Some day I'll probably go back for it and enjoy it while I cringe at all the other details.

OK, I have a soft spot for Dulonos. Nostalgia is one helluva drug! Haha! Seriously, Dulonos evokes images of simpler times, like playing catch with my pops as a kid. Great, but how's the zah? Good to very good in a biker, greasy, yummy Midwest tavern pizza square cut way.Reminds me of Carbone's as a youth, which we would get when my mom played bridge and my Dad was in charge of "meal prep." Thin crispy crust, fairly innocuous sauce, massive amounts of bubbly, brown cheese. Delivery is fast as I live close, but the real fun is dining in. Reminds me of a Northern MN small town joint in Uptown and that's cool! Tip, their garden pie is far less greasy and stick to beer.. Their house vino is kinda rough. Bluegrass on weekends. What more do u want? Also, the younger staff @ night have always been fun and talkative.

I heard wow-y things about this place so I got a late night pizza. It's nice that they're opened late and will deliver, but I felt the pizza was just average. The crust is good, thin, flaky... I think the cheese blend could be better. Overall, good pizza, but not great.

  • Lindsey D.

Great Pizza! Friendly Staff! CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! It would be so typical for a place like this to be grungy. It's just great all around! 2-4-1 Beer every night as long as there's no live music. Large cheese pizza for $13!!!!!

Baby's first one star review. The first time I ordered food here it took two hours to arrive. I called after the first hour and they said they had forgot my address. I decided to give them a second chance. It's hard to botch chicken wings, but one of my "wings" was actually just a golf ball sized chunk of fried mystery loaf. I think it might have been cartilage, but honestly it was pretty unidentifiable. The wings do not come with blue cheese. They instead come with a wet bag of unsalted french fries. I am a worthless chump. I contribute very little to society and I don't think my mother reared me correctly. Bad bar food is one of my favorite things in the world. Sometimes when I get onion rings, I will slurp the onion out of the ring like a piece of spaghetti, and then eat the fried outer ring separately. I use the crust of my pizza to mop up any pepperoni grease that's pooled on the bottom of my plate. I ate a hot dog last night at like 11 pm for no reason. All that being said, I will not eat Dulono's food again.

Wow! I've never been here before in all my years living in Minneapolis, and I like it! Great beers on tap, great pizza with an excellent crust/sauce/cheese/toppings ratio. The service was friendly, the pizza delicious. A huge bonus that they have free parking in the lot that they own. The inside is a bit dated, but who cares. Sometimes live music, karaoke, ski ball, pool, darts.

Dulano's is probably my favorite pizza in Minneapolis. I order from here once a week because it is walking distance from my house. The service is not the greatest, but I have never had an issue when ordering take out. The crust and the sauce make this pizza delicious. I usually just get pepperoni, but I have heard that the speciality pizzas are also good. I would definitely recommend Dulano's to anyone looking for pizza.

Seriously I will make my husband drive over from St. Paul for Dulano's when I want a crispy thin crust pizza. I like the sauce, it has all the full flavor pizza sauce should have. I have never tried anything else becasue the pizza is so yummy. My husband likes the fried mushrooms.

This place is a nightmare and I have never even tasted the food. We called for delivery and placed order. They took our credit card and address and told us it would be about an hour. A hour and a half later still no food, but it's Friday so we give them more time thinking they must be busy. TWO hour mark still no food. I call and they tell me the food was delivered, I say no didn't get the delivery. So they look up our order again and now they say "we don't deliver to that address". You didn't know that when you took the order! Stay away, they don't seem to know what the hell is even going on.

I've been ordering from this place for years and Pizza Shack before that. They always made triple crust even though it was really expensive it was worth it, lately they won't do it. No sorry or explanation, just no with an attitude. Kind of a crappy way to treat a long time customer...

I was craving a good pizza after having a bad experience with a major chain. (They had a nice coupon.) I went online to find Dulano's phone number and was elated to see that they finally have a website - and a good one! And they have a new menu, too! As soon as I saw the Taco Pizza (my favorite), I jumped on it! I'm VERY fussy about Taco Pizzas. Not everyone makes a good one. I only ordered a small but now wish I'd ordered a larger one. This is absolutely my favorite pizza in the Twin Cities now!

This place was such a fun, pleasant surprise. There may be no other spot in The Uptown area that is less pretentious than Dulonos. Even though you are on Lake Street, you feel like you are stepping into a small town, Iron Range bar. The menu at Dulonos is about pizza and beer. Good selection of beer, from Bud Lite to Surly. The pizza is straight up, flat crust normal good pizza. Nothing fancy about it. But more than the food, this place has good live music, with no cover charge. It's all about Bluegrass here, so if that's your genre, there's no better spot around (and if not, you may want to go somewhere else on a Friday or Saturday night). One odd thing: it's "seat yourself", even when it's super crowded. This makes for an interesting social experiment - will people "steal" a table from someone else, if given the chance? The answer for us was, most people were overly courteous. But don't be too passive, or you will end up waiting longer than necessary.

This place has problems. I have been going to Dulono's for may years, both for the food and the music. I have been a fan of Dulono's, but now that there there is new management there are problems. I met friends there tonight. The pizza was, as usual, tasty. The service was, as is usual for our experience, good. There was no live music, which was a surprise but also was not a major problem. What was, however, a MAJOR problem was that they were playing heavy metal music, and LOUD, for the first 2 hours that we were there In case the reader is not aware of this, Dulonos' has a history of being the premier bluegrass venue in the Minneapolis area, and recently expanded to hosting blues bands. It was evident that there were no heavy metal fans in the crowd, and most of the diners looked unhappy about the music and the noise level. After one hour of having to shout over the obnoxious music, I asked to speak with manager. He came to our table one hour later, and defended the music by stating that "someone at the bar had been playing the music on the jukebox." He had no explanation of why he didn't turn down the volume, and also why they had heavy metal music on the jukebox for at a bluegrass and blues venue. He did, after a heated exchange, shut down the heavy metal music- but then put on a hockey game at maxim volume. We still had to shout, and - once again- the rest of the crowd looked unhappy with the continued loud noise level. It is unclear why the management would ignore the obvious dissatisfaction of their patrons. It was not just our group who was bothered- everyone else looked bothered by both the noise level and the music, or the hockey game It is unclear what demographic group the new Dulono's management is seeking to attract. It appears that they are ignoring the people who actually are, at least currently, actually patronizing the venue. Unless you like a really loud atmosphere and heavy metal music and hockey, I would stay away until t hey get their act together.

This place used to be on my top places to visit when in the Twin Cities. I do come around about twice a year and almost always included a stop for what I thought of as the best pizza anywhere. The pizza is a thin crust, basic pizza. The recipe they used for their crust was excellent. Just something about it I and many in my family and friend circle just loved. The location is on Lake St and a bit divey which is great for me. They offer live music. On the night we went, it was a Blues band. They were decent, but played a bit loud. Keep in mind we had just saw a loud punk band downtown before coming here, and I found the blues music too loud! Certainly for a dining establishment. The lead singer came around hawking the band's CD after their performance as well, which I found a bit intrusive. I mention above things in the past tense. This last visit was the first since the ownership change early in the year. The pizza is still good, the service was fine, just that the pizza was a bit different than in the past. While good, it wasn't outstanding. I would recommend this place, but it will likely fall off my must visit list in the future. Update April, 2015. Stopped by on a visit to the Twin Cities and it was definitely as excellent as I remembered. We had a couple of pizzas, both superb, the service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Well done and it is definitely back on my list of must stops in the Uptown area.

The pizza is great, which is the only reason I gave this place two stars. Well that, and the absolutely delightful delivery gal that finally dropped off our pizza. We typically go back and forth between this place and red's savoy. However, tonight, we decided to order pizza from Dulono's after a long day of working on the yard. They said 30 minutes to an hour to deliver when ordering. After an hour and 25 minutes, I called to see if there was maybe a mistake with the address or something, and she says "Yeah, she just left and will be there shortly." No apology for it being late, no explanation, just Crabby mcCrabberpants scoring a big fat goose egg in customer service. I like this place, I live in the neighborhood and stop in to catch some live music once in awhile. However, after multiple times with the crabby woman who mans the phone over there, I think I'm pretty much done. Buck up. Dig your job or get a new one, because you ain't the only decent pizza place in town.

Excellent pizza, and some of the best onion rings I've had anywhere! I've only had delivery so not sure about atmosphere or in house service but my deliveries have always been fast and friendly! I also love that they are open til 3 am and have a huge delivery area!

I noticed they had a lunch buffet, so I decided to check it out today. I was pretty impressed with the pizza. Nice crowd of about 20 people dining there. The pizza buffet was replenished often with a variety of pizzas. Classic pizza and some meatless options were offered. I really like the crispy cracker-like dough of their pizzas. There is also a really basic salad bar..ie think Best Steak House salad bar, some garlic bread and also some hoagies. I didnt eat any hoagies. A chaffing dish with pasta and red sauce was also offered. The staff was attentive and courteous. The price is rather good..$7.99..a bargain for the area. Soft drink is an additional charge. Parking is ample in their lot, wifi available now too, lighting is better. I would recommend this if you're in the mood for good pizza.

I like! A lot. The thin crust pepperoni, sausage & onion pizza was outstanding. It's the sauce that makes it so good. Torn between 3 & 4 stars. The service was terribly slow. If you can over look that, you should have an enjoyable dining experience.

This is about as good as it gets for a pizza buffet. I'm always a sucker for buffets, and this did not disappoint. From the get go, I was pretty impressed with the selection of pies and everything else. They had pasta, salads, hoagies, pizzas of course, and even a dessert brownie. Everything I had was very good. The pizza was excellent as always. The salad bar was just right. I got my Caesar salad and cottage cheese. (I love cottage cheese with my salad bar.) The pizza selection was quite good, too. I half expected to find a few random old ass pizzas to choose from, but I was delighted to find about six different pizzas to choose from-including Hawaiian! Overall, everything was great. I have sometimes done the Broadway buffet, and this is much better and cheaper. One potential negative this place might have is the music. They were playing it LOUD! Now, I liked the music. Motown and funk are a-okay with me, but some other people might have been put off-whatever. Our waitress, Samahra, was excellent. She really looked after us, was friendly, and attentive. All things considered, I'll be back soon. I'm already Jonesing to head back, but I'll have to watch myself. I'll get fat eating here; there's nothing I don't like.

Granted neither of us ordered the pizza here, but we decided to try something else since we've been craving deep dish from Chicago recently and knew that thin crust probably wouldn't hit the spot. The service was pretty slow here. There were multiple waitresses but they're slow to serve. Remember to seat yourself, which we didn't realize until we had been standing there for a few minutes and saw a somewhat hidden faded sign. Our waitress seemed a bit impatient and didn't have much of any smile the few times that she came by to get our order, bring us our meals, and bring us our check. She did refill our water after we asked though and she then brought a whole pitcher for our own use... does that mean she just didn't want to serve us? Or was she being friendly? I'll say the latter. Anyway I got a quarter chicken with baked potato, came with a buttered roll and a salad. I didn't expect the chicken to be fried for some reason but it was super hard, the chicken was overcooked, even though they were dark pieces. The potato was bland, thank goodness for the butter and sour cream in packets that I added (doh! Should have added salt and pepper too...) . The bread wasn't bad, very very buttered. The s.o. got chicken wings and fries, but he was disappointed since we had assumed it would be buffalo chicken wings. But it was just plain ol' fried chicken wings and little drummettes. In the end, the bill came out to be about $20 but it wasn't really worth it... Pretty sure we won't be coming back unless we are absolutely trying the pizza... seems like a popular place for tradition.

It's amazing how many of us with so many pizza options available to us in major cities find it so hard to find that perfect pizza. .. The crust, doughy inside, crispy outside, firm, yet not thick, slightly charred in spots . . Sausage nicely crumbled with mama's special seasoning... Sauce, light, never overcooked , a hint of sweetness. Duluno s gets a 8/10 on the above.. only issue is the crust...I prefer a rolled doughy inside crisp outside crust , duluno s is a cracker crust ..like carbonies ...ok but not traditional italian...

I live in St Paul and now drive here for the best pizza in the cities , better than Savoy. All ingredients are fresh, no canned mushrooms and the crust is thin and crispy what can get better. It has been a couple years since I have been here and was worried since they have new owners, but I must say its better than ever, cant wait to come back. And in previous reviews who cares about the music when they have great pizza and Surly!

It's exactly as everyone says it is. Solid, good, pizza. Wish I would've tried this place when I first moved here. Definitely was the pizza I was looking for. Nothing too fancy, not bland, it's perfect.

So, after a few bad experiences with my previous favorite pizza delivery, I decided to try Dulano's. Overall, mostly tasty pizza. The sauce was actually really standout and good. I also like the thin crust. My only issue was that there was WAY too much cheese. And they also obviously put cheddar in their cheese mix, which is weird and not what I want on my pizza, AT ALL. So, it was good in a pinch, but not something I'd really seek out again - even if I asked for "light" cheese. It seems like this is their standard pre-mixed cheese mix, and I can definitely do without orange gobs adulterating my mozzarella.

This is the best gettin' d on a weeknight pizza joint. The crust, the crust! Like a super thin saltine cracker. They will put pickles on your pizza too. Bonus for music on the weekends.

Getting better. I wonder if this place was sold again since my last review.. Seems like MUCH more effort ha been put into addressing the issues of old and past that plagued this place.. I will order again. Still the pizza tastes the same.. That is what makes Dulonos, Dulonos.

The old dulono's gets 5 stars. Shame on the new management for canceling live bluegrass. The music and folks it attracted were what made this place worthwhile. Nothing like destroying a twin cities treasure. Well done, jerk.

I was craving pizza inexplicably so we brought the kids. Cheese pizza for them. Thai chicken pizza for the adults. The crust is delicious. Thin and crisp and almost a little flakey. The flavor on the Thai chicken was delicious! The only thing I think they could do to improve it would be to add peanuts as a topping. The old school pizza parlor ambience is perfect. The music was excellent. The kids spent the entire wait dancing. We will be back.

A-OK is pretty spot on. I get a couple slices pretty regularly and often make a stop during First Thurs (bike nights.) Pizza is predictably good. Good ratio of cheese/sauce and a very good hand tossed crust.

Their Pizza: *Dough made from scratch *Pizza sauce made from secret recipe *Cheese freshly grated and liberally applied Sometimes you just don't want to deal with a pretentious, artisan pizza made from Himalayan goat cheese and truffle farts, but rather a down to Earth, cheese-laden, good f&*king pizza. Best thin crust pizza in the city. Other items on the menu are hit or miss, but the pizza is SOLID.

Severely understaffed. And the staff who are there can't serve to save their life. WOW! I won't bother with the details, but geez, this COULD be a really neat place to hang. Pizza was good and the bluegrass band was neat.

Oh, Dulono's. I keep meaning to go there when it is not first Thursday, but I generally end up there on first Thursday anyway, and am always impressed. The pizza at Dulono's is like a trip back in time for me. I like the flavor of the sauce and the ample quantity of cheese. The super thin crust isn't my preference but it is well executed and pretty tasty. Plenty of pizza places in Uptown, find one that you like and stick with it. Dulono's is worth an audition. As for the rest of the menu, I've been pretty happy with everything I've ordered. If you have one thing at Dulono's, have the meatball sub. I posted a picture of it, truly a beautiful thing, served on a cast iron plate after being smothered in cheese and baked. Tasty stuff. The batter fried mushroom appetizer is exactly as you would expect. I had the catfish sub yesterday, and found the breading light but well seasoned and the veggies fresh. The bread wasn't memorable, but was lightly toasted, so bonus points there. As has been mentioned, Dulono's is an old school midwestern pizza/italian place. Go there expecting an inexpensive and flavorful meal, and you won't be disappointed. Finally a thank you to the owners and staff for tolerating being overrun by motorcyclists once per month.

If I were just reviewing the pizza, beer prices, and ambiance I would give this place 5-stars. However, I have to knock it down a couple notches based on the service. My friends and I are/were regulars after our weekly basketball game. We always order at least one extra large pizza and a few beers. However, we started seeking out another establishment after week after week of poor/inattentive service. Either there is a problem with understaffing or just with the staff. Though I love this place and it's an institution, as a customer I don't like feeling ignored or taken for granted.

Best pizza in Minneapolis! Great wings also.

Passed by this place for years and never knew the pizza was so good. I'm partial to a crispy crackery crust and this place has it. Cut Minnesota style on a new york crust. Love. Plus they have live bands quite frequently. Who knew? The night I was in here they had an excellent bluegrass band which felt a little out of place in an Italian joint but they were awesome so who cares. Would definitely come back.

Stopped by at 1AM for a bite. The interior is rather dingy and the decor is chaotic, but we were impressed by the uber-friendly service and the tastiness of the crispy thin pizza. Love that they serve beer in frozen mugs.

Totally unexpected down-home feeling pizza and bluegrass joint smack dab in the middle of Lyn-Lake hipsterville. The pizza and the music are nothing to write home about, but if you want to feel like you're up North at the cabin in the middle of Minneapolis, step through the door at Dulono's and you'll be transported. Everything here feels like it's been the same for the past 30 years: the decor, the pizza, the bands, even the servers.

This is the best pizza in the city, by far. Plus the dining area of the restaurant looks like your grandma's living room circa 1982.

The pizza is the best I've had in Minneapolis. Have always had delivery, never ate at the establishment. I've tried different items on the menu and other than the fried cauliflower, mushrooms and cheese bread, would not recommend. Beware of the lady that answers the phone for delivery. She's having a bad day, like everyday. Most unfriendly person ever.

The thin crust pizza at Dulono's is my favorite in Uptown, and one of my favorites in the Metro. It's a very "Uptowny" joint: A dark, divey, old building with wait staff that look like they just crawled out of bed, and bluegrass bands on the weekends. If you can't appreciate that kind of stuff you should probably just do delivery or takeout, but do yourself a favor and at least try the pizza. The pizza is cut "Midwestern Style," as I've heard square-cut referred to before, and the sauce is savory. The crust has just enough of the thin crust crunch that I love (when I'm craving thin crust) and I like to pop in here from time to time for lunch, since I've moved on to the 'burbs. The seating area is pretty large and I've never had to wait for a table. Go check it out.

Pizza is awesome! Ordered a large for the two of us and ate it all. It's classic midwest style pizza - thin crust, cut into squares, and the right amount of cheese. I'll definitely be back for the pizza. Also, our waiter was prompt and really nice.

Blue jeans. Flip flops. Neighborhood folks. Cops. Bikers. Artsies. Old folks. This is Dulono's. No earth-shattering pizza. But I gave it this review because if you're from the neighborhood, it's a good idea to give Dulono's 1-2 chances. If you're from the suburbs, would I make the trip all the way in for this place? Not likely. But that's why it's a great place to get to know -- if you're local you can slide into a booth with a soda in a red plastic glass and leave your worries at the door for a straight-up old school pizza joint, hole-in-the-wall on Lake Street.

We stopped by for drinks and a couple of appetizers to share with the table. The deco is at best outdated, but if you take the whole place with a bit of irony, then it is awesome! I mean is one of those places so old school, it can't be for real! Same goes for the food. Pizza was much better than I expected, more of a flatbread with toppings on top, but much better than a lot of other things that go by the name of pizza in other establishments. The fried mushrooms were uber-fried but delicious, cauliflowers were also uber-fried but a bit less delicious, I wish we had ordered the onion rings too, it seems like the kind of place that would get those right! I love it the way you love the real housewives or Snooky and the Situation.. Would be back with a group of people with some sense of humor, probably not for a romantic date or with someone taking its food too seriously!

Dulonos holds a special place in my heart, maybe because I've been eating this pizza for 13 years. Ahh... the memories...ordering a giant crispy thin pie after a night of heavy drinking... and.... falling asleep on the couch...and missing the delivery... note: they will redeliver... for a nominal fee, natch. This place was the first pizza place my now husband and I visited together where we fell in lurve over a giant basket of fried mushrooms dipped in packets of ranch dressing. This place was the first place we brought our daughter to hear live bluegrass on Friday night. Ok... so the waitresses can be a little surly. I like it. At least it's not that fake sit down at your table with you shiz like freeking Applebees.... I think Uptown Pizza has superior pizza, but I loves some super thin crackly crust. I'm a fan. Don't bother with the lasagna, spaghtetti shmetti whatever else is on the menu. It's crap. It could even be from the Rainbow down the street. Stick with the pizza, cheesebread, and fried mushrooms if ya knows whats good for ya. It's one of the only bluegrass venues in the cities. So c'mon people... get your banjo fix and head on down!

Dulono's is usually where my wife and I go for pizza. The pizza is very good classic American-style pizza (in other words, it's not the more artisan style of pizza that has become more prominent lately). The crust is really good, they use the right amount of cheese and sauce and the toppings are flavorful. It's not just pizza they are good at making though. Their fried mushrooms are really excellent and their garlic bread is probably the best I've had (my wife is a huge fan of garlic bread and Dulono's is definitely her favorite). I also really like their lasagna. We usually get take-out but we have eaten in a few times and the place is fine. It's got kind of a small-town bar vibe to it. The staff is nice and food comes quickly. There is live music some nights and the first Thursday of every month features a biker meet-up. Parking can be a problem on those days as the meet-up seems to be extremely popular among bikers. The whole intersection of Lake & Garfield gets pretty congested. That said, it is still possible to get food on those Thursdays.

I have no idea about the decor. Don't care; we never eat there. Dulono's delivers-- and this is the place we always call for pizza delivery. The pizza itself is fantastic, and the garlic cheese bread rocks, and they deliver. SO if you don't want to find parking in Uptown or deal with the atmosphere of a divey pizza place-- there's an easy fix: get it for delivery. It's great pizza that just arrives right at your door! WooHoo!

I went here on a recommendation. After all, I was excited to go to Dulono's after all I heard about it. I was looking forward to adding it to my repertoire of great pizza places in the Cities. I wish I never heard that recommendation. My girlfriend and I walked into the questionably white building on Lake that had the look of a great local joint that was everyone's secret or business like 'Champions' just East down the street. As we entered we noticed the decor that screams out we're not fancy - we just serve food. Which I thought was a plus because would you rather go to an Applebee's for decorations or a plain box with out-of-this-world food? That's what I thought. We sat down and were greeted a long five minutes later by a server who looked like you could've grabbed her and her fake (maybe real - doubt it) red hair straight off of the Maury Povich show set and had the attitude of a passive aggressive teenage girl talking or lack thereof to her parents. Clearly she was annoyed that we were there. *This is the part of the horror movie when a couple of people say we'll meet you later and break off of the pack because after that you know that everything is going downhill from there* Not only did she not bring our food out (we saw it sitting there for 10 minutes while she checked her nails) she continued to rebuke us because I let my girlfriend have a sip of my drink and said that we have to pay for two drinks. To explain everything else that went wrong would make this review as long as a Tolstoy novel. So... In short. Unless a zombie apocalypse is upon you, don't go to Dulono's or even entertain the idea of going there. On second thought even if there is a zombie apocalypse don't go.

We brought friends here tonight based off of all the positive reviews here on yelp. I have no idea what people see in this place? The food is bad and the service is even worse. Our friends had the spaghetti and Ravoli, and the sauce looked at tasted like Ragu. We had the pizza, which was ok. Our waitress was laughably bad, we had to go to the bar to get refills on drinks (this is after waiting 20 minutes for the waitress to show up in the first place). I'm all for dive bars with kitchy decore, but the food better make it worth it and that's definitely not the case here.

I love this place, I've been ordering pizza from there for over 10 years! Now I've never eaten in so I can't speak to dine in only the delivery. Their thin crust pizza is delicious, cheesy goodness! They also deliver until like 3am, which I've taken advantage of many times. Love Dulano's!!

For the sober person, 2AM in Lyn/Lake can often feel like a David Lynch movie. Sometimes Blue Velvet. Sometimes Lost Highway. Sometimes even Wild At Heart. People say and do things that don't make sense. It all becomes very surreal. The drunker you are the more it will make sense. For the sober person, it is all very entertaining and intoxicating. Follow the rabbit. Ride the snake. Eating at Dulano's will push this strange reality even further as you find yourself looking at cattle skulls on the walls next to limited edition prints of snow cottage paintings, which is next to some weird USA decoration. Mind = Blown. The food is alright. The waitresses are nice. It's a strange trip and the people watching is good. Now for the drunk person after a long night of drinking, Dulano's is your post-2AM stop. You find yourself out on the street because Cause Sound Bar just closed and kicked everyone out, yet you still be a bit tipsy and probably hungry. Simply saunter into Dulono's. For $10 you can get a decent small pizza (10 sober points) and all the water you can drink (20 sober points). Let's be honest, you aren't here for the pizza, although it's actually pretty good. You are here on a mission to achieve sobriety. Do the waitresses seem tired almost numb at this hour? You would be as well. They've seen it all before. Tip them well, they deserve it for putting up with it. In fact, if you are lucky, you might even see drama unfolding before your very eyes. Mostly it's pretty calm and quiet, except for the loud drunks at the table across the room from you. Pay them no mind lest you want to somehow get sucked into whatever bizarre, drunk conversation they are having.

Well the queen of mean is hitting the board with this one... (Me for those of you that don't know). The pizza.... I have to ask... Why is it that this place fascinates people? This is a TERRIBLE example of local flavor, and I would definitely not take someone here that was from out of town and tell them that, "this is the way we Minnesotan's like our Pizza!" With that goofy, half assed grin and crossed eyes. I like my pizza like I like my men... cut on the outside, soft on the inside, not too many toppings, and with a hint of oil. For some reason this place is prided with over cheesed, under sauced, blackened thin crust pizza, that has bad combinations of toppings. The only reason this place get's two stars is I know that it's owned by an officer of the law, and I hope he will take it easy on me next time I get pulled over for speeding... But for those of us that actually like REAL pizza? I'll go to Punch.

Dulono's is easily my favorite pizza shop in the cities. I order from here multiple times a month and I am never left disappointed. The pizza is always piping hot when it arrives at my door. The crust and the sauce are absolutely spectacular! Delivery is super speedy and dining in is always a pleasant experience. If you want the old school, family owned feel and taste, this is the place to go!
