One of my favorite neighborhood places. Wonderful for every occasion, whether a weeknight dinner or a special birthday. The service has been consistently superb, as has the food. The doolittle's wings appetizer is AMAZING! I often order it as an entree! The rotisserie chicken is good, but not as good as my favorites-the lemon scented salmon or hangar steak with horseradish mashed potatoes. This is one of those places where everything on the menu is great, you can't go wrong. I'm lucky enough to have this place in my backyard, but even if it wasn't, I'd make the trip!

We stopped into Doolittle's after a morning meeting in Plymouth. My boss is a huge fan of their ribs and immediately suggested it as a good lunch spot. We arrived at about 1pm, just as most of the lunch crowds were leaving. The interior of the restaurant was nice, definitely suggesting a little more upscale environment than an Applebee's, Chili's, etc. Obviously, the ribs had to be ordered - I got a full rack with a side of french fries. Positives: -Very tasty ribs. Not quite Kansas City ribs (but I'd been spoiled for the past 6 years), but certainly up there for some of the better ribs in Minnesota. -Good prices. A full rack of ribs was about $22, while a half rack was $18. Spend the extra $4, and you've got another meal - the ribs are very good as leftovers. -Wood-fired grill food...what's not to love about that? Negatives: -Would've maybe liked a little more BBQ sauce on my ribs, but that's a personal preference. I'll be back to Doolittle's - I'd like to check out some of their other entrees and see if they're up to level of their tasty ribs.

Doolittles is a hidden gem. Off the main drag. I lived in the area a year before I knew of its existence. Great spot for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend the chicken wings. Simply he best I've ever had. Outdoor seating is wonderful as there is shrubby that blocks the wind. The smell of wood fire is wonderful. I don't give five stars because the service can, on occasion, be subpar. All in all, I recommend this restaurant.

Traveled to Minneapolis for work and stayed the weekend, this wasn't my first choice but a late work day brought me here. However I was very pleasantly surprised with the "fanciness" of the service. They asked my name before seating me and even took down the name of my friend who was joining me later. Definitely wasn't crowded for a Friday night but I liked that I could just walk in and not have to wait much for a table. It has a nice cozy but fancy feel to it. I got the Mango Ceviche for apps and Wow!!! The quantity wasn't great but since it was just me, it worked out great. Great balance of fresh and spicy and yummy and off the beaten path for ceviches. Ordered the Jamacian Jerk Pork Loin for a main course, it came highly recommended by the waiter. The presentation is pretty, doesn't knock your socks off but I like it. The sweet potato hash is crunchy which was a great contrast to how soft, tender and juicy the pork loin was. Also the wood grill flavour was very evident and took me back to my childhood where my grandma would cook on a woodgrill stove. The grilled pineapple sauce complemented the pork and veggies well. Not too sweet or too tangy. The price in comparison to the quality, variety and ambience was really good. Overall if I ever visit Minneapolis again, I'd want to look up the woodgrill again!!

I love Doolittle's. Come often to Golden Valley or Eagan. Great wood fire grilled meats and fresh fish. Very comfortable and friendly atmosphere with good service. I recommend it to everyone, for lunch or dinner. But I do have one small complaint - please lose the new "Cinnamon Cake" dessert, or at least call it what it is - a muffin! Not worthy of Doolittle's. I'll give them five stars again on my next review!

Didn't know where to go to dinner. My brother asked if I have ever been to Doolittle's. Driven by it so many times but never once stopped in. It was not busy at all. We got seated right away for dinner. The waitress was very sweet and super friendly. I love how there is a woodfire grill going with all the chickens on it. Super cool and looks delicious! I ordered the jerk porkloin. It was alright,. servced with diced sweet potates, corn, blackbeans, and I believe spinach. Very juicy and tons of flavor but nothing was jerk about it. We also got their famous wings. Tasted like homecooking. Pretty good but not worth the $14. I was not impressed with the food. For the price it could've been better. I won't come back.

Three stars with room to improve, since I would have marked this as four stars except for our service. We went to Doolittles on a Tuesday night, and the place was absolutely packed. I was underwhelmed by the beer list and I think I ordered a Stella, so that should tell you something. After taking our beer order, our waitress all but disappeared. Another person brought our drinks and then it was positively 20 minutes before anyone came to our table again. I finally flagged down a manager, and she cut me off as I said, "Excuse me" and brusquely told me "I know. We're going to have someone over here for you guys in a minute." OK -- so if you know that you have a table whose waitress has gone MIA, why not go address the table yourself rather than causing more of a delay by finding someone else to help. AND, why be rude to the customer when they ask for something like -- oh I don't know -- the ability to place their order? Rude. Unprofessional. Our waitress finally resurfaced, not really apologizing but mentioning the big private party in the room next door, which apparently she was also attending to. After we ordered, I suppose things got better. I got the chicken, which is obviously the thing you are supposed to order if you judge by the amount of emphasis it receives on the menu. It was good -- but not amazing. The portion was generous and I wound up taking half of it home. The potatoes and veg on my plate were average. My husband got the chicken barbecue salad, which he seemed to like, but I thought was really heavy on the barbecue sauce. I don't know. OK to decent food and really poor service. Not very impressed.

I love this place. I stayed away from it for a long time because I felt like it would have an 'Applebees' vibe. I was wrong. Here are the reasons it's pretty legit: -It's the perfect place to catch up with a friend, easy to find a comfortable spot to cozy up and carry on a conversation (fireplace area, nice booths) -Food is consistently great, with a ton of options. I love the Thai Salad and the Gaucho Burger. -Servers are attentive, fast but not overwhelming. They know their stuff & can genuinely answer questions. -With the quality they provide, they could charge more I think...but everything is very reasonably priced. -Beautiful patio in the summer -The drinks are great & they have great craft beers on top. Overall, one of my go-to's for dinner with family or friends.

If you are looking for a nice "upscale" bar and grill type place, this is a nice option. While it was surprisingly crowded the (week) night I was there, all the food at our table was great and the service was nice, too. I still prefer Redstone, but this place is in the same vein (and seemed a bit cheaper, too)?

  • Andrea R.

Not great. On a positive note, the service was very good. My daughter had the roasted chicken, and she loved it. However, we started off by finding a hair in the food. The ceviche was oddly sweet, the chicken skin was flimsy, (on the chicken wings we had as an app), and the beet salad that I had as an entree was with little flavor...(plus, it had bleu cheese instead of goat cheese. Goat cheese marries far better with beets, in my opinion.) For a 300 Bill, the food should've been MUCH better. We won't be back.

LOVE this place. Fish, salads, deserts all excellent. Service is great, I have not once had an issue. This is a neighborhood "go to" for us, and reliable for lunch and dinner both with an extensive wine list. Nice!

There were five of us... so we had a lot of different things to share. Chicken Jerk pork Crab stuffed tilapia. Bbq ribs Chocolate coffee whatever dessert And creme bruele. Now normally I would love to recommend the jerk. But unfortunately its spicy not savory. I want flavor in my hot. It's okay but not my recommendation. However my dad ordered bbq ribs... And i make the best bbq ribs so I'd love to give a hard review of them...but I can't. They were awesome. Don't pass on their homemade gingerale. Chicken wasn't bad either. And the creme brule was waaay bigger than I expected it to be. Id pass on that chocolate coffee dessert thing tho.. I will leave the fish dish like this..I don't care much for fish. my six year old liked it my teenager didn't.

Doolittles is nearby and we visit them every couple of months for dinner. I usually have the fish tacos. (I love fish tacos.) The rotisserie chicken is always good. The wings are moderately spicy and tasty. Other entrees I've tried are usually delicious. The service is attentive and we've never had a bad experience. They have a good selection of wine and beer. In the summer the patio is very nice and in cooler months the fireplace is comfy if you can manage a table nearby.

Fulfilling rotisserie Chicken wings this place has got it! Good place for appetizers and may be 2$ off during happy hours on drinks will be a better deal for cocktails.

  • Tara H.

Very delicious rotisserie chicken, but if you have allergies or asthma you can not sit in this nicely renovated location -- the HUGE pitfire which roasts these chickens spews considerable smoke. It used to be unbearable, before they installed a ventilation system. But it still can be difficult esp if you have active asthma Pricing is also a bit high for portion size and quality. Location is excellent convenient.

We discovered Doolittles when we lived in Fargo. It was a nice surprise to find a location in Golden Valley. The management is wonderful and waiters are freindly. We have mentioned on every comment card that we loved the asian shrimp flat bread, but after four years we have resolved ourselves of the fact it will never be served again. The reason to come here is the woodfire chicken with mashed potatos and vegies. We have no idea how they get the vegies to taste so good. The flavor profile is amazing. The chicken is moist and what memories are made of. We have enjoyed burgers, ribs and more, but someone in your party needs to order chicken to truely appreciate this place. Parking is in its own lot and the front door team is always so friendly. The large semi open kitchen is warm on a cold Minnesota night. The booths are large and very comfy. Enjoy!

Love the smell when you walk in the door. The atmosphere is great! We also enjoyed the food. The name describes the staff... doo little. They spend a lot of time socializing and little time focusing on the customers. Probably won't be back soon, but may give it another try down the road. Happy dining! : /

To start, the service was great and it would be hard to get much better. They were fast and courteous, which is appreciated for a Monday lunch hour. The flat bread pizza with chicken was awesome and the rotisserie chicken sandwich was great. Now the reason it gets three stars is because if you didn't have their chicken it wasn't all that good. I had the fish tacos- they were not good almost bad (2 stars), the burger was okay (3 star worthy not 4). Overall, if you, go stick to the chicken and you will be more than happy.

Their burgers and rotisserie chicken are pretty good but the fries are quite salty! Good HH deals. Their regular menu prices are very competitive.

We have been here a few times and have always had a great experience. The prices are completely reasonable, the food tastes excellent and the service has been great every time too. Once we sat outside on the back patio. As the night cooled off a little bit and the summer bugs were coming out they offered us a blanket and lit a candle on our table. It was really thoughtful. Another time I sat at the bar for a drink and the bartender actually remembered my order from the previous visit, which was well over a month ago !

We'll always enjoyed Doolittle's but the service was very poor- got our food about 5 minutes after our salads. Our dessert was the wrong dessert - the guy that dropped off the dessert said he would be right back with forks. Never came back had to flag down our server. Not as good as it used to be And the prices were up!!!

Normally I'm a big fan of doubtless we go to the Egan location all the time. The Plymouth one is horrible. Worst service ever, it was like dumb and dumber were at the host station. They were busy I give them that bit so is the Egan location and they don't have near the trouble this establishment has. Good was brought wrong and to wrong tables. Don't go here if you want a nice night out, plan to watch a service team self district due poor organization and management. Will not come back to this establishment looks like we are going to Egan.

Better grade of fare than your typical TGIFri or Applebee's, but not as pricey as Redstone or its ilk. Still, the service is not as attentive as it should be, and the room is just complicated without all that much charm. I recommend the smoked pork chop--Really tasty and tender. The wine flights are cool as well (and I think the pours were more generous than advertised).

I've dined at this restaurant a number of times and have never had a bad experience. Service is always good and the food is delicious. My favorites are the artichoke dip app, anything with the spit roasted chicken and the lemon-scented salmon. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

It is a sad state of affairs that this place is one of the better West side eateries - wine list is over priced and limited, meats have no flavor (thanks West siders/Minnesotans for your fear of any spice beyond a lot of SALT and dash of pepper.) The place also does what every other non-chain establishment in the Metro area tries - a little of many cuisines - a failure at all. At least the chains have a narrow theme and stick to it - fail as they may at good flavor/quality. Dishes are also over priced for the experience. The ambience is really nice - but who eats the tables?

They have nice collection of Wines. I am not a Wine fan but the waiters suggested me some wine. it's really good. Nice ambiance. They have outdoor seating available. if you want to Enjoy the Sun and Grilled chicken with a nice glass of Wine this is the correct place. Food is OK. Service is great. They have all flight portrait collection which is cool

I hate giving poor reviews, but... Blech! First with the positive.... The steak was ok, as were the sirloin skewers. Ribs were ok. Nothing memorable. The service was great, and the issues that we did report were taken care of. Soggy batter on the overcooked calamari. Nobody seemed to enjoy their beet salads, which is a "must get" anywhere we go. The shrimp and crab stuffed Tilapia had almost a paste of supposed shrimp and crab, and was cold and bland. The ceviche was just weird. The wings didn't get eaten, even as leftovers. Our party of 7 did not enjoy. I've heard that other locations were better, but we won't likely stop in anytime soon. Did I mention that the service was great?

Why did I not eat here earlier in my week-long trip to MN??? Food - 5+ Service - 5+ Decor & Cleanliness - 5+ Chrissy the bartender and the manager whose name I never got were as cordial and happy to converse with as could possibly be. My hanger (hangar, for the aviation pun) steak was very tender and super juicy. The braised spinach could have been strained a bit more before being plated as it collided with the steak juice and made for a watery plater. Best of all is the blue cheese dressing. Holy smokes this stuff is sensational. It's so good I ordered a salad to go for lunch the next day. Their happy hour menu looks VERY appealing and fairly priced. Some guys next to me had wings that made me jealous. Kudos, Doolittles, for dooing more.

After a walk around Theodore Wirth last evening with a friend, we were hoping to eat something relatively light. In the area, this place stood out as pretty much my only option to give a go, so we hop on in. Very welcoming hostess, however, not asked what our preference was for seating considering the place is split up into 3 pretty different areas. A little odd, but, whatever. Get seated next to the bar and we're off. Server was no where to be found. A solid 8 minutes goes by before he stops over and asks about drinks. I opt for a cranberry chicken salad and my companion goes with the salmon. They come out soon enough and the first, immediate thing I notice about the salad I got... next to no chicken. What pisses me off is that I kept my phone away and wasn't thinking of taking a picture of this, but, it literally looked like they took a chicken wing, scraped off the dark meat and threw it in this massive bowl of lettuce. Each bite I was careful not to take too much chicken because I was afraid of running out after a couple bites. Taste was good, a solid blue cheese/cranberry mix with romaine and a nice light cran drizzle. Salmon by all account was tasty. Mashed potats left a lot to be desired. Tasted a lot like your box insta-taters with a ton of butter. My final gripe about this place, we just get done walking, and my water glass - at the edge of the table - sat empty the entire meal. Naturally the one time our waiter stops by I have a mouthful and don't get to ask for it to be refilled. I mean, its not like it's obvious or his job to notice the small things like that, right? For the price and lack of attention to detail, I'll gladly stop in at Chipotle across the street next time. Getting a salad/burrito bowl without the rice and beans would have been just as light and far more satisfying. Not to mention a quarter the price.

I'm not particularly fond of their seafood offerings, but their rotisserie chicken is amazing! The sandwich is favorite & I would absolutely recommend the roasted pair & chicken salad! So delicious!

I've had dinner here a half a dozen times in the last eighteen months or so, most recently last Monday. Honestly, this time I found the food not quite up to par. I had the Parmesan Crusted Walleye. While moist and flaky it came encased in a much too thick, heavy breading that was seasoned with so much black pepper that it overpowered the delicate fish. I ended up scraping away most of the coating. Previously I remember the kitchen as having a lighter, more refined touch on the Walleye. The accompanying mashed potatoes were bland and a bit too mealy and the seasonal veggies were soggy. We started with Woodfire Buffalo Wings and Artichoke & Chicken Quesadillas. The wings had an odd flavor when compared to past experience. It was a bit like the slightly soapy flavor one associates at times with cilantro (and I generally like fresh cilantro). Again, not awful, just unexpected. The Quesadillas were fine (more cilantro). My daughter had the Roasted Pear & Chicken salad. She pronounced it flavorful but the pears were hard, apparently not fully ripe. My son had the Spit-Roasted Chicken. He made short work of it and seemed quite happy. We opted for dessert. Crème Brulee for my daughter and Key Lime Pie for me. Her dessert was fine. Honestly, mine was not worth the extra caloric intake that I really need to reserve for something spectacular. More my bad than theirs. A truly outstanding Key Lime Pie is hard to find in these parts. I should know better. We sat out on the very pleasant patio where we had also been last St. Patrick's day on a spectacularly unseasonably warm evening. The inside space is large and cleanly appointed. Our server was very friendly and attentive. In fact service here has always been excellent. All in all a decent place to enjoy dinner with family or friends if you're in the Western burbs.

Just finished a business lunch at Doolittle's. Perhaps the best smelling restaurant from the outside in the Twin Cities, the smell of the rotisserie chicken cooking us incredible. A much better choice in my opinion than a chain restaurant like Applebee's. I had the Rotisserie Chicken sandwich which was delicious. My dining companions both had pasta dishes which they said were very good. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the physical surroundings reminded me of an upscale lodge up north.

This place is great. I've been to Doolittle's on several occasions. At first I was afraid that it was going to be similar to TGIF but don't be alarmed. The atmosphere is nice and classy, no outdoor gear attached to the wall or flare on the wait staff. The have their rotisserie chickens on an rotating roaster oven in the front but that's it and it's nice to see your food so nicely displayed before eating it. I love their buffalo wings, so juicy and flavorful. Same with the rib & chicken combo, it's the best of both worlds on one plate. The portions are huge and will definitely leave you with left overs. The serve is wonderful and accommodating. It truly is a unique place in Eagan for quality food.

  • Melissa C.

Doolittle's seemed serviceable enough. I came here right on the cusp of happy hour for a late lunch and they were prompt and friendly. The decor is sort of an airline-themed Applebees or something. It's a little classier than your average TGI Friday's or somesuch, but it's still kinda...meh. But who really cares about the decor anyway? The food was pretty standard. They have a perfectly edible burger. Can you tell I'm...impressed? The wine list is a bit above par--they have a really nice Argentinian Malbec that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head. Overall, everything was decent. It just wasn't really outstanding in any way--so that's an a-ok three stars. I might not go out of my way to come here, but I wouldn't pitch a fit if I were asked to come either.

Pricey, but they offer a lot: good variety, nice atmosphere & consistent service. Hey, mix up the wine list once in a while & go "out of the box" with a special.

Staff is always very friendly and attentive. This is where we go when we are hungry for something tasty but too lazy to cook or drive very far. There is quite a variety on the menu - I have even gotten around to trying the rotisserie chicken. Burgers are good. I'm a fan of seared tuna and so I've had the tuna dish on the menu a few times but don't care for the noodles too much. Happy hours is nothing special - $1 off taps. Most of the times I have dined around 8-8:30 or so and it has been fairly quiet so I was very surprised at how busy it was for lunch on a Wednesday when I took by grandma out to eat. They do take reservations for lunch now.

  • Sarah J.

This place has potential, but it's charging prices in line with a nicer restaurant, with a menu that has little to offer for smaller plates, and a sports bar feel. The food is just okay. Presentation is stuffy, and I hate the way the staff are trained to "suggestive sell" specific food items and drinks. It makes them seem robotic and impersonal. I wish I liked it better, the location is convenient.

Ate here for my birthday and with a party of 8, they seated us quickly without a reservation near the fireplace. Menu had many great choices and food was excellent! Had ribs (which I rarely order) because they are famous for them and chicken...wasn't disappointed! Servers were attentive and would definitely go back for lunch next time I visit the twin cities!

A place I would call "just like Redstone". Suburban atmosphere with a suburban menu. I went for a business lunch and had the shrimp and artichoke sandwich - I thought they forgot the shrimp but it was cut up into the tiniest bits mixed in with the artichokes. Boo. I wouldn't go out of my way, but it's fine.

I've been to Doolittles in Golden Valley a few times now--my first visit was for Valentine's Day 2009. I was told that they remodeled from the "air cafe" image to something a little more classy, and added the "Woodfire Grill" to their name. I don't know what it was like before, but they've created a great ambiance now. If you like woodfire rotisserie cooking, you should really visit Doolittles. I haven't had anything that I didn't like, although some dishes were better than others. I don't think they're really known for their seafood, but they always seem to have a good selection between their regular and "specials" menus. I ordered their seafood pasta, and it was good, but I really should've split it with someone. They put a ton of different seafood in it (mussels, crab, scallops, shrimp, etc.)--it was very rich in taste! Every time I visit, I look over the menu and want to try everything, but my favorite dish here is the Cajun Chicken Pasta. It is amazing! Like all of their menu items, the portion size is enormous! So, you can easily split it with someone or take a doggy bag home. This Spring, I chose Dolittles as the place for my boyfriend and I to celebrate his job promotion. I pulled our server aside and told her that we were celebrating and that I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a dessert. I had already selected the Strawberry Napoleon (thin flaky wonton squares layered with pastry cream, mint & strawberries, and drizzled with decadent chocolate sauce--yum). I requested that the dessert be served after we had finished with our meal. I was really concerned that my boyfriend was gonna spoil the surprise, because he's usually pretty quick to ask for the check and I didn't want the server to get confused. But it all worked out perfectly! I saw her peek around the corner to see how we were doing, and then shortly after the manager brought out the dessert on the house since we had chosen their establishment to celebrate at! I couldn't believe it...that was above and beyond what I expected. They really do want to make customers for life like their mission says. We've been back since, and will continue to visit, especially for special occasions in the future. You should check em out too! Recommendations: Cajun Chicken Pasta, Chicken Wild Rice Soup, Strawberry Napoleon (special menu item), Mama's Farfalle & Chicken Tip: They don't take reservations--but don't let that scare you away. We even got in on a busy Valentine's Day! Special you should know about: 1/2 price bottles of wine on Mondays from 4-11pm

After finding out about the great Happy Hour from friends, we decided to give Doolittle's Woodfired Grille a shot. They have two happy hours, both an evening and a late night option (which is great for me b/c I work late). All of the appetizers are half off, and they have some great options. I had the crispy walleye fingers and the chicken artichoke quesadilla, and my friend opted for the wood-fired chicken wings. We sat out by the fire pit and had some drinks while we waited for the food and had a great time. Its a nice little patio with alot of different seating otions, great for a date night where you could find your own little corner. The waitstaff was more than pleasant and the appetizers were GREAT, especially for the price. If you are in the area, give it a try.

This has become our go to place when we can't think of anywhere else to go. I really, really, like the Sierra turkey sandwich. You wouldn't think a turkey sandwich would be something you'd go to a restaurant specifically for, but we do. We've also had the Prime Rib French Dip and it's very flavorful, and not as filling as French Dips usually are. The reason for me it's not 5 stars really has to do with the prices. While I don't think they're terrible, they're a little on the high side. The bread before hand is a nice touch!

Came here for lunch last week with coworkers. Service was fast and although the prices were a bit high, the portions were very large (easily could have shared an entree). I had the balsamic-base shrimp pasta dish - it was perfectly al dente and reheated surprisingly well. Will definitely return for a dinner in the near future.

I really like Doolittle's. It is a great spot for a business lunch or an after-work happy hour. The prices are reasonable & the food is delicious. Their appetizer of Artichoke & Chicken Quesadillas is more like an entrée; it's huge. They also have lunch combos of soup, salad or sandwich for $8.95. The décor is cozy & the service is attentive and friendly. I think it is one of the nicer restaurants in the Golden Valley/Plymouth area. They also have a gluten free menu which many of my friends appreciate.

I had the barbecue chicken and it was probably the best chicken I've ever eaten. The meat was tender and very moist. Great flavor. Very happy with the meal and love that you can watch the chickens roasting over the fire while you wait for a table. I would definite recommend it!

Been almost 10 years since we've been in town eating Doolittles and I must say it was just as delicious as I remembered! French dip is amazing. French fries have a excellent seasoning and definitely would add a Side salad for $3.95!

This basically echos the same thing I said about their Eagan location, but great food, really nice atmosphere. Not sure if the have the outdoor firepit at this location :) I do really like the indoor rotisserie that they have at both locations! Oh, and get the wings!

I don't think they specialize in burgers, but the bacon cheddar burger is the best I've had in Minnesota. I bring people here just to eat that burger and they all love it too. The meat is perfect, the cheese is tasty, and the lettuce is shredded and already mixed with a special sauce. It is also topped with a house-made pickle slice that is wonderful. Waitstaff has always been great too.

We sat out on the patio and it was an amazing dining experience (especially with their fire pit going). I had the Rotisserie chicken sandwich and it's true, their in-house chicken is truly delicious! The chipotle aioli that was slathered on made the sandwich pop in your mouth. I highly recommend that meal!

If you are looking for me on Monday night, look no further. Doolittle's has half price bottles of wine and delicious appetizers. The servers aren't pushy, and the place isn't crazy busy despite the great deals on drinks and appetizers. Highly recommend as a Monday HH location.

This place was really good. Everyone got different steaks and everyone was very pleased. Steaks were cooked as requested and the service was very good even though the place was at about 80% full. The decor and feel was very cool on the inside but we sat outside and had a great view of the intersection. They had an extensive selection of beers on tap. Overall I would come back.

My family and I go to the Doolittle's in GV at least twice a month. They remodeled what seems like a year ago but may have been more and the atmosphere is nice, kind of "redstonish". They have a kids menu (does the trick) but I can have a glass of wine and feel like I'm not at some lame chain. The food is consistently very good; they get a bit ambitious with a few of their entree's (fish tacos = bad, they should be a bit more self aware) but their meat entrees, sandwiches, and salads, are great. The French Dip sandwich seriously cannot be beat. This is a great go-to place that makes everybody happy.

For the suburban dweller who avoids the downtown market at all costs, Doolittle's likely represents highbrow dining. This, of course, is laughably inaccurate. Doolittle's, while a charming, nicely appointed venue, is nothing more than a glorified Applebee's, which isn't necessarily a bad thing: it works for them. But don't let the interior fool you: it's about on the same par food wise. You can't make reservations, and, on my first visit, I noticed they seemed very distracted and disorganized as to where to place the three small groups (myself included) that came in at once. The disgruntled blue-hairs crabbily dismissed the hostess and went to find other accommodations. They placed the gentleman who cut in front of me (not cool, sir) and his wife at a table near the bar without even acknowledging that I was clearly there first (I suppose I could've said something). When I was seated, they gave me a nice table in the Fireplace room. Much quieter than the rest of the restaurant. I would highly recommend asking for a table in this area if you want to be able to not raise your voice to your fellow diners. Bre, our waitress, was fantastic. Very friendly, helpful, and polite without being overboard (though I seldom take issue with my waitstaff, as it doesn't take much to please me as long as you smile). My friend who I was dining with is quite fussy and particular, and likes to play cat and mouse with the waitstaff when we go out, much to my chagrin, and Bre handled him well. The food, however, wasn't impressive. I ordered the Thai chicken lollipop appetizers (I think that's what they were called), and while the presentation was...literally...chicken lollipop sticks, the taste left something to be desired and the execution was lacking as well. The Bloody Mary (and I'm picky), was pretty good. About what I'd expect from a restaurant like this. My friend, who goes there a lot, says the food is hit and miss. Was it a bad experience? Not at all. It fits the basic needs for most diners very well when the idea of going to TGI Friday's again is not appealing. I probably won't go back, not because it was bad, but just because there was nothing really that "wowed" me like some of the other reviewers felt. But, with that said, if people were going there, I'd have no issues going back, I just wouldn't go out of my way. I am more a downtown guy.

I went to Doolittles with a friend for lunch while on a job in this area. The options for sit down restaurants here are not the best, and though this place is nestled in amongst a lot of fast food chain garbage I thought I'd give it a try. I was surprised that the atmosphere of this place was compared to TGIFridays. There isn't wild junk thrown all over the walls, the service is not dressed with "flair" or any of that nonsense, and the food seemed to be a notch above (even if only slightly). I split a burger that was nothing to write home about, but then for desert I had a decent Crème brûlée which is one of my favorite treats! The waitress was pleasant and attentive. The mood was warm and welcoming. The prices were around 13 dollars for an entree, which seems reasonable for that type of place. If this was in Minneapolis there is no chance that I'd go out of my way to go to a place like this, but if I'm stuck in Golden Valley I'll surely go back.

Wow....what a difference from the last time I was here!! Yes, it has been a long time, and I didn't have a good experience previously. Since then, they have completely changed the interior, and a lot of the menu. I can't comment on the menu, other than to the fact that it's not cheap. They have nicely priced wine flights, which is cool. I only had the "buffalo" wings. They were good, but most certainly NOT what I've come to expect from buffalo....they were more of what I would guess sage and wine vinager coated, than pepper sauce, so very mild. The woodfire taste was very prevelant (as is the smell, which drew me in, in the first place), and the meat of the full wings was perfectly cooked and super tender! Happy hour got me 6 wings for about $5 (half off), and they have a few other app's on special. I think drinks were like $1 off....nothing impressive, but late night HH starts at 9pm. The interior is low-lit, clean, and warm. There's also a very nice little patio with lots of plants around it. It was pretty dead when I was there, but the bartenders were rather aloof, slow to serve, and seemed to have somewhat salty attitudes. I'd consider comin here for a date night, but not to get my drink on. After my last experience they would have had one tar, but they've been upgraded to a very low 4 star based on the happy hour wings alone.

Ok, I am upgrading my review. I went for lunch twice with a coworker and had EXCELLENT service as well as having a great meal. I also went again for dinner with my fiance's family, and we enjoyed our meal, our service, and the bread.

This is a pretty cool spot for lunch, maybe even dinner. The menu is pretty large, as are the portions, and the aviation theme is cool - almost feels like it should be located in or near an airport. Food was pretty good, and our server was always around without being imposing. I'd go back if I am in the area, but it's not any better than, say, a TGI Friday's or similar.

One of my favorite local restaurants. Great happy hour, Monday wine bottle specials and late night half off appetizers. Wings are unique, fish tacos are awesome(order the fish grilled) and artichoke dip is terrific. Rotisserie chicken is the speciality. Add horseradish to mash potatoes for a spicy BANG to your meal.

I came here for a couple of drinks but also had to have some of their chicken. I ended up just getting their chicken wing appetizer. The wings were tasty and not your typical deep fried wings. It was their slow cooked version. Doolittles is a little fancier than my typical after work drink place. In fact, it seemed a little fancier than necessary. The warm towels brought to us before the food was a nice touch, but probably not necessary. I guess I'm just not quite sure what they're going for. Is it a fancy restaurant or a family restaurant?

I've dined at this restaurant a number of times and have never had a bad experience. Service is always good and the food is delicious. My favorites are the artichoke dip app, anything with the spit roasted chicken and the lemon-scented salmon. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

They have nice collection of Wines. I am not a Wine fan but the waiters suggested me some wine. it's really good. Nice ambiance. They have all flight portrait collection which is cool

I had the barbecue chicken and it was probably the best chicken I've ever eaten. The meat was tender and very moist. Great flavor. Very happy with the meal and love that you can watch the chickens roasting over the fire while you wait for a table. I would definite recommend it!

This basically echos the same thing I said about their Eagan location, but great food, really nice atmosphere. Not sure if the have the outdoor firepit at this location :) I do really like the indoor rotisserie that they have at both locations! Oh, and get the wings!

The name describes the staff... doo little.

Ok, I am upgrading my review. I went for lunch twice with a coworker and had EXCELLENT service as well as having a great meal. I also went again for dinner with my fiance's family, and we enjoyed our meal, our service, and the bread.

This has become our go to place when we can't think of anywhere else to go. I really, really, like the Sierra turkey sandwich. You wouldn't think a turkey sandwich would be something you'd go to a restaurant specifically for, but we do. We've also had the Prime Rib French Dip and it's very flavorful, and not as filling as French Dips usually are. The reason for me it's not 5 stars really has to do with the prices. While I don't think they're terrible, they're a little on the high side. The bread before hand is a nice touch!
