We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer to hold us over before dinner. Big open restaurant with a cool layout- you can see into the kitchen where they make the dough and bake pizzas. It was pretty empty when we want it, so we sat along the window bay that can open up in summer months. We got the meat and cheese appetizer. It was decent- salami, prosciutto, olives, and a tiny bit of cheese. It was good, but for $12 not worth it again. Full bar. Great for dates, kids, or hangout time. If we are in the area again we'll try the pizzas. It's a fun atmosphere, and the server was around when we needed her, and not too pushy.

This place has amazing service and a really cool ambiance. The pizza is unfortunately about a 2 for me, since I don't like the way the coal-firing leaves the crust very charred; if it wasn't charred though it'd definitely be a 4. Service example: server asked how my pizza was, I hesitated and said alright, he asked if I wanted another, I said "no, it's fine, the crust is just more charred than I'm used to", and that's when he took the pizza away and said he was getting me another that was less cooked. The manager came over and apologized, too. The second was less charred, but still too dark for my liking, which was a shame. I love the mix of pizza restaurant with a full bar that's open late though, and next time I think I'll just get a salad instead. :)

I love Black Sheep and it is normally a great experience. Last night was not. Our server seemed bothered by the fact that he did have to serve us. His snarky attitude started with me asking about the cocktail I wanted to order. Then, my friend asked about pizza with white sauce. He informed her that one pizza on the menu had white sauce. She asked if she could build her own. He said no, but that she could order the one from the menu and make substitutions. Huh??? How is that different than building your own? It just got worse from there. The food was, as always, wonderful, but this dude ruined the experience for us. And one of my friends was visiting from out-of-state and wanted to ask about buying a t-shirt, but figured the server wouldn't know anything about it anyway. He was clueless!!

BSP has somehow avoided my endless lust for pie until now. This is the latest location in the former building of Azia. The windows facing 26th can be lifted up to create an open air vibe which is very cool. The staff we encountered were first rate. The pizza was a bit up and down. First off, pizza is highly subject. That being said, this is far too chewy for my tastes. Fans of Punch will like it, but I prefer a thinner crispier crust. The #4 with meatballs was surprisingly a bit bland. A simple pepperoni fared much better. This also doesn't taste great cold, which is the mark of a great pie. Might sound negative overall, but BSP was adequate, and I want my pizza to be memorable not unremarkable.

We stopped on a rainy afternoon, sat by huge open window and had a delightful time. Great service, wish I would have gotten his name for this review. He was bartending I think, but took our order, answered all our questions ( it was our first time there ) and his statements were all very spot on. We got an awesome spinach blue cheese salad, plenty big for 2 people. Bread and marinara sauce which was full of chunky fresh tomatoes and perfect seasonings on bread. We got a 12 inch tomatoe, olive and green pepper pizza and it was amazing. Plenty of food for 2 peeps with a few slices left to take home even. I love love love this location. We went many times back when it was Azia, a few times when it was eat street buddah, and now so happy it is a yummy pizza joint. Great vibe, clean and classy and great service. Will definitely be going back.

Great pizzas and great location in Minneapolis on eat street. My boyfriend ordered the gluten free pizza (they charge 3 dollars extra and only offer it on the 12" just so you know) and he enjoyed the GF crust. I ordered a 12" cheese with crushed green olives. Very delicious. They somehow mixed up my order and brought out two of the same pizzas and the waiter didn't bat an eye he simply offered to box up the extra for us at not additional charge. My daughter, who is six, ordered the regular cheese and loves it. Very good pizza. I'm a Punch pizza fan so although I enjoyed this pizza very much I do not feel it is better than Punch, however, since it's close to where I live this is where I go for pizza when I want to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere and the city.

I have been here twice now and loved it every time. My boo's love for pizza is as strong as my love for tacos...and each other of course. We would go here every week but no one's trying to undo all that work at the gym. The mushroom pizza is one of my faves with three different kinds you can't go wrong. I love love love all of the vegetarian options and the Whittier location even has a grill for some extra appetizers. Whittier: 2, North Loop:1. I might also mention that this was the first date my love and I went on so it holds a special place in my heart. The north loop will always have that but Whittier is now my jam. Plus when you can drink all the beer or wine you want and take the bus home, it's a win-win.

We have been to the one in St. Paul and now this one. The vibe here is a little more lively. We sat at the bar and had our favorite - meatball pizza. We also had the cheese pizza. That cheese pizza, while it may sound boring compared to some of the other unique pizzas they offer, don't underestimate the cheese pizza. The egg plant dip is a perfect summer app to start things off. Robert, the bartender took care of us. He was amazing and fun. So many reasons to come back.

I heard a lot of great things about this place... I was kind of disappointed. We had dinner on a Monday around 6pm. We sat right by the open window which was pretty awesome. The service was not friendly, but not rude. We had pizza, salad and grilled shrimp. The pizza was soggy and the grilled shrimp was more like microwaved shrimp with a bunch of oil. It was tasteless and soggy. The salad was the best part of the meal. I wouldn't return unless I was starving and every place around it was closed.

Oops, had to dump my old love, whose love was kinda shitty to my guts. You probably know that I'm with Black Sheep Pizza now. Love is in a thinner crust, with spontaneous air bubbles. The tomato sauce has the kick of a spunky boy. After trying 5 or 6 of the pizzas, I think two styles that I am sure will not become stale to my taste buds are 1) cheese and sauce, and 2) oyster mushroom / mozzarella / rosemary / garlic. A pizza place that can churn out a delicious basic cheese-and-sauce is a winner in my book. And thank god this joint replaced the always-empty upscale Asian fusion place that was on the corner last year. Everyday, I see that Black Sheep is packed with giant friend circles and families. All of these things make me love my neighborhood even more.

Red Bull Crashed Ice drew a crowd of over 140,000 people. So when the epic bout finished, Saint Paul's pubs, breweries, and restos were just about impossible to get into. My brotha/ PR partner and I decided that night to cross the river to chill at the new Black Sheep Pizza in Whittier. It was a Saturday night around 11 pm ish, and only about a quarter of the place was full. (Awesome for us.) We chilled at the bar and ordered some brews and shared a 12-inch pie. (They come in either 12 or 16 inch.) Regarding their pizza menu, there's about a dozen with plenty of options for vegetarians. (Dita D -- I'm looking at you. LOL!) My homie and I ordered the #5 with fennel sausage, hot salami, onion and cracked green olives. *#5: Amazing crispy crust, hearty salami, fennel sausage (that's not overly fennel-y), and tasty veggies. Outstanding. My only suggestion is for Black Sheep to figure out how to have the toppings not slide off like Brittany Spear's ex boyfriend/ husband's career. Regardless, it's one of my favorite pizza joints. ($13.25) *Service: Dude behind the bar was cool. No issues. *Decor: Hella sexy with that industrial vibe. *Beer selection: Solid, featuring a significant number of local brews. I loved my left-handed milk stout. I love Black Sheep, and I'm elated that one is now closer to my crib.

Welcome to the Neighborhood Black Sheep Pizza! Fresh, fast and yummy pizza with a spacious atmosphere. This 3rd location just opened up on the corner of 26th & Nicollet Ave right before the Christmas Holidays 2014. There is plenty of table and bar seating with all the pizza and salad combos you would normally find at their locations in MPLS & STP. 12" pizza combos are well portioned and will easily feed 2 people with an appetizer like a chop or house salad. Tried the #5 with fennel sausage, hot salami, onion & cracked green olives. The crust was super thin and crispy. Sausage on the pizza was a bit too "fennely" for my taste, but my co-diner seemed to enjoy. Chop salad as an appetizer was perfect! Almost wish it came with a few slices of their homemade bread - you can order extra bread for $3.50. This location has plenty of space and is perfect for a larger group of people (unlike their other MPLS location). As they just opened, the decor is still a bit sparse and the bar isn't as cozy as the bar next door at Eat Street Social. Parking can be tricky during a busy weekend night so expect a block or two walk. Can't wait until they start delivery from this location!!

One of - if not the best - pizza place in the Twin Cities. Really glad to have it in my neighborhood. I highly recommend the sausage and pepperoni pizza, it can't be beat. Super friendly, fast service and delicious food. If you want something more than pizza, all their salads are on point as well. Great food, reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

The white cheese (tomato-less) pizza was terrific. The Sicilian was a dud. Can be a great place if you order right.

Excellent. Tried BSP for the first time last night and fell in love with #3 (hot salami, dried chili) and #5 (fennel sausage, salami, onion, olives). We also tried #4 (meatball, ricotta) and #11 (persian beef). For some reason the meatball ricotta was much sweeter than the others. I typically gravitate towards any meatball pizza but would have to say this was my least favorite. The persian beef had a lot of flavor, however, I didn't enjoy it w/the menu combination (could be that I don't like feta). Will def be back to build my own and for the #3 & #5 though! We also tried the whiskey sour which had good flavor but the egg white on top was sort of dense and had a bitter finish. I've only had egg white drinks at 2 other places in the city and both were light and airy. Another thing I did liked was that you could split the 12" pizzas in half. This gave us a chance to try 4 different flavors without committing to a huge pizza. Didn't rate 5 stars b/c we weren't greeted immediately when we entered and stood there for about 5 min until a server noticed us and flagged someone down to help us. Also, the service was slow which our server acknowledged and apologized for in advance. We appreciated the heads up but will not be returning during peak hours.

Great pizza. We always order 2, and end up taking home a 3rd. One of the best things about this place is the size. It's a real luxury to walk in somewhere at 9pm on a Saturday and get a spot right away....

Great addition to the neighborhood! Warm and inviting compared to Buddha and the staff was prepared for their busy first few weeks (we've walked down 4 times since they've opened). I'm looking forward to trying more from the grill and when I do I'll ask for them to grill the bread they serve.

I came here on a Monday night with some family members and am now totally a fan of their pizza. The design of the restaurant is pretty humble, although the big windows overlooking 26th & Nicollet are nice. They have a cool bar; seems like it could be a fun neighborhood hangout. The parking is pretty lousy, as you'll be used to if you go to any Eat Street establishment at suppertime. The menu is minimal, which I don't consider a bad thing when a restaurant is good at what it does. And that is the case here; the crust is kinda semi-traditional, thinner and crackerier than what you normally consider "traditional crust". Something about that big, impressive coal-fired oven makes that crust just awesome. My 'za was the one with meatballs, ricotta cheese, and garlic, and I loved the hell out of it. Everyone at the table got a different pizza and loved them as well. However, one of them had a sausage casing on it which wasn't supposed to be there. It wasn't that big a deal, but they still comped that pizza, because they're nice people. My 12" pizza was more than enough despite my gluttonous appetite. I'm super excited to eat the leftovers I brought home. I'm going back there as soon as I can.

Went there, loved it. Pizza was delicious, toppings were very generous, service was good. The place is spacious and comfortable. I love that they don't have a TV. Excited to have Black Sheep in the neighborhood. I'll be back! Only minor comment: if they sliced their tomatoes rather than quartering them, they might not all fall off the pizza while you eat it (or if the cheese went on top rather than the toppings).

Four star awesomeness!! The bf and I were walking eat street for dinner noms since it's gorgeous out and finally decided on Black Sheep. The interior is super cool, very open and bright. We were seated at a corner booth that was pretty private - which we liked, since we're one of those ridiculous couples that loves hanging out together (no pda, just crazy cute). Our waitress was fantastic. I was indecisive on what beer to get and her recommendation was great - Steel Toe Provider. We decided on two pizzas, #8 & #11 - chicken & pickled peppers and Persian beef, tomatoes, feta & Harissa. They were both delicious. Our waitress continued to be super awesome. She thought it was cool I finished my beer first and loves beer & whiskey. I almost left my number she was so awesome, then realized that's probably creepy so I didn't. We're looking forward to going back and trying more pizza. And having more beer.

Fantastic pizza! Great service, wonderful pizza, warm and friendly atmosphere. So thrilled to have Black Sheep in the neighborhood. The #7 pizza is dreamy and the roasted root vegetable salad is incredible.

They have wonderful pizza and they service was great. They don't have any TVs, which is kind of a bummer if you are wanting to watch a game. It's a nice, clean, and cute restaurant.

My first visit, and I won't be back. The cheese and cured meat plate was not only tiny, but came with soft, spreadable goat cheese (the only cheese, by the way)--and nothing to spread it on. The draft root beer was good, but for the price they could have filled it to the top of the glass. The meatball pizza was the blandest, most tasteless pizza I've ever had, and the large chunk of bone in one of the meatballs did not improve the flavor. The waitress was kind and nice but offered to box up our dinner while we were still mid-slice. Note for those with kids: they have high chairs, but no cups with lids, and the music is really loud. It was also very cold by the windows. Did I mention it's crazy expensive? Not a fan.

This was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a long time. My dad and my I sat down and the manager took our drinks and we ordered our pizza at the same time. We waited....waited....waited.....40 minutes passed and we asked the status of our order and the waitress who refilled our drinks when and asked. She came back and said that no order had been placed. The stupid manger who took our order had never put it in!!! We did not have anymore time to waist. We got up and left. We did not have our supper and had to drive like crazy to our appointment that we had to attend. We did not get a opportunity to eat again until 9:20 at a Chipotle. I will never go back to a black sheep pizza, if I owned that restaurant and had that kind of staff I would terminate all of there jobs! They are running it into the ground!
