Ok it's a franchise and it's Olive Garden, don't expect much and you're golden. Thumbs up: -variety, variety here at the Olive Garden -here you're family, to a degree of course -you are encouraged to sample wines before making a decision to order -the strawberry dessert was better then average -good for big groups, that helps we do family dinners all the time Thumbs down: -not a fan of franchise and production style food making -almost every dish was heavy on the salt -service is OK, not what you expect from the commercials, what? ? -food = eh If you must, expectations lowered you'll enjoy it.

Overall: 3.9/5 Staff: 4/5 - We were greeted and seated immediately. The waitress we had was very friendly and came to check up on us frequently, but not so often that it was uncomfortable. I wish I got her name so I could recommend her to everyone. Atmosphere: 4/5 - We were seated in a corner booth. The location was was well-lit but not overbearing. Everything was clean and cozy. Menu: 4/5 I personally like a lot of menu items, but I know that a lot of people don't. This has a perfect medium, and everything was well organized. Price: 3.5/5 - We were given unlimited bread sticks and salad (which was a side dish to one of our entree's) and that was fantastic. If the portions were a bit bigger I would probably have given this a 4/5, but alas it was not so. Quality of food: 4/5 - I was pleasantly surprised at this. I have been to Olive Garden in the past, but couldn't recall the food being this delicious. I'm not sure if it has to do with the location, the cooks, or the menu items we got, but I enjoyed everything that was served. If you're interested in what we ordered here it is: My boyfriend got the seafood Alfredo, which if you enjoy seafood, it is a good choice. I can't remember the exact name of what I got, but it was vegetarian lasagna topped with grilled chicken. Also amazing, even better re-heated. The soup I got as a side dish was Zuppa Toscana; we put the croutons from the salad into the broth, and it made it even better.

The best thing about this place was the server we had. I should have noted her name so that I could publish it here. She was a real pro. I had the breaded eggplant, which was fine. My Mom had the mushroom ravioli, which was also fine. Nothing here was outstanding - it was competent.

Not a fan of the corporate restaurant thing but was roped into going. Everyone raves about the salad but ours did not have enough dressing so the second and third person digging down was getting very little dressing. Speaking of the salad, iceberg lettuce? Seriously? Rest of the food was not bad (although wife said her beef came from the ground up/pressed thing they pass off as beef. My biggest complaint is the pricing. They set up the menu is such a way that nothing except the most basic meal is less than about $15. Now call me cheap but I have a hard time paying a minimum of $15-20 for a simple pasta with salty iceberg salad and some white bread sticks that I make better at home.

The people that say The Olive Garden isn't real Italian annoy me. The food and atmosphere are excellent. I the tour of the sea platter, and it was amazing. The service was polite and prompt. It's not quite Bucca Di Beppo, but no-one but them is. :)

I went to Olive Garden yesterday evening with my sister, cousin, and aunt for a kind of family "catch up" dinner. We arrived at 6:10 pm and were told our wait would be 15-20 minutes. The host staff was right on the money, 17 minutes later we were seated! (it was very busy, so this really surprised me.) Our server was at our table about five minutes later and took our beverage orders, which were served promptly about 3-4 minutes later (along with the salad and bread sticks) and then took our appetizer and food order. It was very refreshing to be able to carry on a normal conversation without having to shout, even though the place was packed! Appetizers arrived about 7 minutes after we ordered, the dipping sauce for the bread sticks and the hot artichoke dip. Both were good (I've had much better at other independent, similarly priced "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants, but I realize this is a chain restaurant.) Our entrees arrived just as we were finishing our salad/appetizers. We ordered: Zuppa Toscana, Stuffed Chicken Marsala, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, and Seafood Portofino. Everything was good . . . the only "complain"t we had was that the mussels in the Seafood Portofino were obviously cooked way a head of time and were quite dry and the "loaded with seafood" promise from our server was really not realized. But, then again, it's a chain restaurant, and profits come before quality, so we let it pass. We stayed until about 8:00 pm and felt no pressure from our server to leave (with how busy it was, I was surprised to say the least - there were still people lined up at the entrance.) We sat talking for quite a while after we finished eating. In appreciation for not feeling like we should leave, we left our server a $20.00 tip (our bill was $80.00.) Maybe we should have left more . . . the time spent with my family was priceless. Olive Garden is my aunt's "favorite" place to eat as she loves the Zuppa Toscana, so this is why we chose to come here. My rating reflects the service, and the feeling that we were welcome to stay as long as we wished more than the actual food. But, all in all, it was a very good evening. I will go to Olive Garden again.

Ya know, I'm sick of people bashing Olive Garden. Great, food snobs stay out. I'm picky by profession. I can't find anything bad to say about this place. I have never had a bad meal there. The TC area is not exactly a hotbed of classical italian Cuisine, so where is everyone going that's so much better? I Nonni ?- great cut the the portions in half and double the price. You could take just about any of their entrees to a local place and the patrons would rave about it. Because it's Olive Garden, many people automatically are biased. I've been all over Italy and eaten at some great restaurants. Aside from the variety of available local cheeses and fresh fish, it's grilled meats, braised meats and pasta. Like Olive Garden. We had a large grad party there the other night and everything was perfect. My gorgonzola-sauce fettucine with fresh basil, tomatoes and balsamic-glazed beef medallions was amazing. My wife's appetizer turned entree of scampi on garlic toast was great. Their calamari is light, crispy and perfectly cooked. Don't want to support a corporate restaurant? Great, it's a precious notion, but places like Olive Garden provide many local jobs and support the community. How many local joints offer benefits to their entire staff including Medical, dental 401k and education assistance? Uh yeah, Olive Garden sucks.

It takes a couple of years for my Olive Garden cravings to emerge and this was the year it happened. My husband, our 4yr old son and I decided to stop by one early afternoon for lunch. There was no wait and only a few occupied tables so we were seated very promptly and politely. Now herein lies my problem: my eyes are bigger than my stomach. There were lots of new items (obviously) amongst the comfort of the staple items and I wanted to try them all. Of course, I'm also a little intimidated by new things, so I ordered my usual: the seafood alfredo. Okay, so it sounds boring, but I haven't had alfredo in years (watching my waistline) and I already knew that my mouth and eyes would be very pleased with this dish (it was). I also had the peach-raspberry tea which was ok-nothing to write home about, and the pasta e fagiole soup--which was delicious as usual, and of course the salad and breadsticks--super delicious AS USUAL. I was SO happy... I'm salivating as I'm writing this review but it's not time to go back yet. My husband had the chicken alfredo pizza--it was okay IMO, more crust than anything else, I wouldn't get it again. Our server (sorry I can't remember her name) was wonderful, polite and non-stalkerish. I've had OG servers in the past that bitched about couples sharing food, particularly the salad/breadsticks and soup (because OG is evil and makes you choose between one or the other with your entree so my husband and I would each get the other and share), and the rudeness just blew my mind so this was always reflected in their tip. Anyhow, both my husband and I shared everything with our 4yr old and each other in blissful peace. I left our server with an appreciative tip and we all lived happily ever after, seemingly 10lbs heavier.

Worst service every at this location, I drive all the way to the one in Woodbury cause this one is just God awful, rude and slow service. I was about 8 months along with my first child, I was starving when we got there, we were seated and then we waited and waited and waited, it was the first child I was having, with 1st children you do everything by the book, no seafood, no soft cheese, no raw meat. When we do finally order I get Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo and get the steak "well-well" done, it came out bloody....I was a hungry, pregnant, emotional wreck...I started crying, not ugly, listen to me crying, just a few tears cause I was so hungry. On top of all this I have to be nice and can't bitch at people cause the husband hates when I act like that, so I leave a very small if any tip.

a few years ago, this place was delectable. the servers were generous with the free salad and bread and the menu had a wider variety. Olive Garden has since become a slightly above mediocre restaurant that is good for some comfort food (and lots of it). The stuffed pastas are especially good. Pizza is sub-par, but bread is delicioussss.

I generally try to avoid rating the popular chain restaurants simply because we've all been there. We know what we can generally expect. I've been to this Olive Garden many times now so I'll share just a bit of my experience. This last time we went we were seated promptly. The server was a bit forgetful but regained a little face by acknowledging that she couldn't remember to bring a glass of water or plates for appetizers. As you know the salad here is good. The bread sticks though, come on guys. They get more blah-ness covered in butter every time I go. For entrees I had the trio which was actually good considering that it was OK. Very standard dish's. But I somewhat expected this as I basically ordered a sampler of entree's. My wife had their seasonal item which was really good. I wish I had gone with that. The wine selection was a little lacking but not bad. The prices were a bit above fair I would say for the price we paid. I give this a 3 star largely because you know what you can/should expect before you go.

I was just at the Olive Garden for lunch the other day. The Roseville location though but I couldn't find it on Yelp. Let's be honest here, it's not good Italian food (my mother thinks it's divine but she also lives in Fergus Falls and is scared to drive on the freeway.) The only reason I have a soft spot for it is because fatty likes his food and the Never Ending Pasta Bowl makes me do the Truffle Shuffle. Back to the lunch I had the other day. The never ending pasta was good but our server put our two person order in right after a table of 27 was placed. You would think they could have moved us in front of them.

Olive Garden makes me want to kill myself. I can't believe people give them money in exchange for food.

The main focus here seemed to be pushing cocktails. In our party of nine, I was the one that ordered raspberry tea, and it was obvious the server was not too happy with me. The food was mediocre, at best. I didn't get the long lines. And they were busy!

Typical Franchise quality food. OK pasta/spaghetti, sauce has improved just a bit (tastes less 'burnt') They really try to push the alcohol on you. (big money maker)(like most franchise places, if not for having a liquor license, they'd likely go under if having to depend only on food quality alone. A pleasant experience though we have to say. The salads are pretty good if you aks me! They should try to serve real bread though, instead of those crappy processed breadsticks. They suck bigtime. And how about some decent garlic/olive oil for dipping as well. No REAL Italian Ristorante would be caught dead NOT serving these staples of Italian fare! Breadsticks are SOOOO LAME! If you head down to Cossetta's you'll see how it's really done!

lets be realistic here, Olive garden is where poor people go for their grandmothers birthday. Don't expect much except tasty breadsticks and a long line on sundays. Sorry for being so blunt but come on...Olive Garden, save a little extra scratch and go to Macaroni Grille

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
