Great bloody marys and nicce atmosphere. The pancakes were good but the Heart Attack breakfast was easy to forget. Pricing was fair and the staff was very pleasant. I will definitely return.

At about an hour away from the Twin Cities, The Eatery Tap in Mankato, MN serves up a killer Bloody Mary made with their own mix and garnished with a pickle, olives, lime and topped with a friggin grilled cheese sandwich! Also, of course it comes with the midwest beer chaser! The rest of the menu is pretty rad too, come hungry and tell them Bloody America sent you!

The food was good. I'd give it four stars. I really enjoyed the crab cakes. Not chintzy on the crab, and not overly breaded. My husband's Reuben was tender and flavorful. However, the restaurant experience relies on much more than food. Hence my two stars. The decor looked like a North-woods grandma's garage sale. Waaaay too many tacky knick-knacks thrown on the walls in an effort to fill up space (Just because the bar and walls are knotty pine doesn't mean you have to decorate cabin-style). I truly felt anxious with all the clutter and harsh lighting. I know this sounds mean, but I really hope they read this review and take it to heart. The food is good, but if I can't relax while I'm there I won't go back. Spend a little bit to invest in dimmer switches and an interior designer and I'll re-evaluate my review.

New restaurant opened I think in October 2014, had my first dining experience there last night. Here's my review! Parking: is a snap in thier own lot, no trouble. This place is located in the old Godfather's pizza building btw Atmosphere: I would say a bit odd. You walk into a large room with the bakery in front, an antique wood cook stove at the entrance and knotty pine on the walls. There is a large back room and LOTS of seating. We were there for an evening meal, the place was oddly bright for evening dining which took away from the atmosphere. Its like they are trying to be country but its odd. Friendly, bright but not high on the atmosphere meter. We sat at the bar and the staff are super friendly. Food: Started with crab cakes - oh man! Best I've had in my life served with lemon aoli sauce, simply amazing. Large chunks of crab, nicely seasoned and cooked on the grill. Such a pleasure to have them not breaded and deep fried - truly spectacular. I had the walleye - huge filet, breaded with panko and again cooked on the grill. Very light, fresh, tasty and not the least bit greasy. A winner for sure. My husband had steak and shrimp. The steak was cooked perfectly to order but he said his shrimp was lacking in flavor, needed more seasoning. Service: No complaints. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and we have no complaints here. Oveall highly recommend but I'm hoping for some improvement in atmosphere but we will definately be back!

I've only went here for breakfast but I really enjoy the breakfast! They have classic breakfast dishes and that's what I look for in breakfast. I like simple classics. The sausage is delicious! You can tell its homemade! The food is good, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are all friendly and nice. This is nice place to get a yummy breakfast!

First time customer. Walked in and it looked nice but they seated us in a second room that smelled disgusting and felt very isolated from the main area. The food was over all good but the menu is long and confusing. Left feeling not very excited to go back anytime soon...

The environment here was wonderful. My boyfriend and I were looking for a fun place for date night with happy hour and a great dinner menu also. We found all of this at Eatery Tap. The appetizers were delicious and very reasonably priced. Service was absolutely fabulous, from the hostess to the server. Even the owner came over to check in with us and chat about the homemade menu and bakery items. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the Mankato area!

This is a nice home-cooking place owned by locals. There are many options for meat lovers an the portions are huge!

Nice family restaurant. We had a dinner of appetizers since they were 1/2 price. The fries were piping hot and crispy. So yummy! Our daughter got 3 huge chicken tenders and basket of fries for $3! She had tons of food leftover too. The owner walked around meeting and greeting which really added to the homey feeling. We'll come here again.

According to my husband: "the best Reuben he's ever had"! Food is fresh and tasty, pub classics with a twist (e.g., grilled cheese garnish on Bloody Mary, beer-soaked corned beef). We'll definitely be back!

I suppose it's got potential, but I'm not holding my breath. The highlight was the service; our server was friendly and fairly attentive, but that's it. The menu looked appetizing, but the prices seemed a little high. The fried cauliflower appetizer wasn't seasoned at all and came with a boring nacho cheese sauce you'd expect to get at a ball game. The lettuce in the Caesar salad... wow, and not a good wow. Not sure the person making it has ever encountered lettuce before. It looked like it was hacked up with all the care you'd expect a McDonald's worker to give. There was one large piece of actual green leaf, while the rest was what I normally put in the composter. Why would you put a giant chunk of lettuce core in a salad? The meatball sandwich started out okay, even though it was smaller than a Subway 6" at almost twice the price. But when there's only three meatballs and one of them is burnt, then even all the mozzarella can't cover that up. If they want to charge those prices, they're really going to have to improve on their quality. Sadly for them, I won't be back to see if they do.
